STARKVILLE -- Thomas Seth Johnson, 20, died at his residence in Maben on Oct. 22. .
Mr. Johnson, who was born in Hinds County, was a student at East Mississippi Community College. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Maben.
Survivors include his mother, Susan Johnson of Kilmichael; his father, Thomas Johnson of Maben; and two brothers, Cass Johnson and Andy Lamar Johnson of Maben.
Services were Oct. 25 at First Baptist Church of Maben with the Revs. Randle Poss, Brian Amason and James Reed officiating. Burial was in Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Cemetery Fund. Welch Funeral Home of Starkville was in charge of arrangements.
Mamie Lee Medders
Mamie Lee Medders, 69, of Mathiston died Oct. 2 at Webster Health Services.
Mrs. Medders, a homemaker, was born in Choctaw County on Oct. 12, 1932. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mathiston.
Survivors include her husband, James Alton Medders of Mathiston; two daughters, Linda Faye Medders of Mathiston and Anita Medders Chambers of Joppa, Ala. ; a son, Charles Medders of West Palm Beach, Fla. ; and four grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 5 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Coy Fulgham and Douglas Browning officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pisghah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Medders Jr. , Wesley Murphy, Jerry Fountain, Doug Naron, Kenneth Prisock and Clyde Medders.
Michael Adcock Kemp

Funeral services for Michael Adcock Kemp, 48, were held at 2:00 p. m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2002 in the Tilgham Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Ingrain, officiating and Rev. Bobby Joe Butler, assisting
Burial was in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
He died at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, TN.

Mr. Kemp was a graduate of Mississippi State University and an avid MSU fan. He was a member of the MSU Bulldog Club. He was also a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Ann Kemp of Cordova, TN; mother, Peggy Joyce Kemp of Louisville; Step-son, Luke Mosley of Fulton; two sisters: JoAnn Dempsey (Jimmy Boyd) of Louisville, Vicky Dempsey (Gerald Ray) of Louisville; one brother: Cecil Kemp, Jr. (Patty Ruth) of Franklin, TN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Kemp, Sr.

Robert P. Long
Robert P. Long, 53, of Eupora died Nov. 15, 2002, at Webster Health Services.
Mr. Long was born in Paris, Ark. , on July 27, 1949. He was a professional musician.
Survivors include his mother, Mary O'Quinn of Eupora; one daughter, Heather Bullock of Billings, Mont; two sons, Eric Long of Billings and James Long of Argenta, Ill; two sisters, Marilyn Stanfill of Paris, Ark. , and Patricia O'Neal of Moore, Okla; four brothers Billy O'Quinn and James O'Quinn of Paris, Ark. , David O'Quinn of Oklahoma City and Randy O'Quinn of Eupora; and four grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 18 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Martin officiating. Burial was in Corley Cemetery in Paris, Ark.
Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Clarence Ezra Vice
The Rev. Clarence Ezra Vice, 95, of Eupora died Nov. 2, 2002, at Webster Health Services.
The Rev. Vice, a retired auto and body repairman, was a bivocational minister for 54 years. His ministry began at Gattman Holiness Church in Monroe County. He also pastored the Bethany Church of God in Montgomery County. His last pastorate was the Mathiston Revival Center, where he was also a member.
He married Velma L. Wilson and just celebrated their 68th anniversary.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Wilson Vice of Eupora; one daughter, Margie Venita Sanders of Weir; one son, Bruce Aaron Vice of West Point; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 18 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Antioch Cemetery in Winston County.
Billy Wayne Weaver
ACKERMAN -- Billy Wayne Weaver, 59, of Starkville and formerly of Ackerman died of complications from a stroke on Nov. 16, 2002, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Mr. Weaver was born on July 22, 1943, in Choctaw County. He was a retired district manager for 4-County Electric Power Association and was also an electrician. He was a member of Chester Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, David Weaver of Starkville; one daughter, Andrea Myers of Starkville; his mother, Lois H. Weaver of Ackerman; one brother, Jerry Weaver of Ackerman; one sister, Jolene Stewart of Ackerman; three grandchildren and his fiance, Janice Benson of Starkville.
Services were Nov. 19 at Chester Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Mord officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Sallye Kate Winters Children's Home in west Point or charity of choice.

Charles G. Williams
Charles G. Williams, 57, of Mathiston died Nov. 11, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Mr. Williams was born in Houston on May 14, 1945. He was a retired truck driver for Gulf States Manufacturing.
Survivors include three stepdaughters; Linda Brandon of Daytona Beach, Fla. , Shelley Morse of Alpena, Mich., and Kimmy Sue Morse of Chesaning, Mich. ; one son, Robert E. Williams of Rutledge, Tenn. ; one stepson, Duane Keith of Alpena; four sisters, Linda Cook of Caledonia, Penny Taylor of Orlando, Fla. , Etta Mae Pinnix of Mathiston and Candita Williams of Jackson; two brothers, Andrew Williams and Jerry Williams of Pheba; 12 grandchildren; three aunts; five nieces and three nephews.
Services were Nov. 14 at Center Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Hudson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Edith Skelton Oliver

Services for Edith Skelton Oliver, 82, of Eupora, were held October 17, 2002 at Eupora First Baptist Church with burial in the Eupora City Cemetery.
Mrs. Oliver died October 14, 2002 at her home of congestive heart failure.
Mrs. Oliver was born August 26, 1920, to Spencer and Naomi Ruth Skelton and lived most of her life in Eupora. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Welty Oliver, Sr. Following World War II in 1947, the Olivers established Oliver Funeral Home, building the business together as they ministered to many families in and around the area.
Mrs. Oliver was an active member of First Baptist Church for more than 50 years, participating in WMU, teaching children's classes and singing in the choir for as long as she was able. She was also a former member of the Eastern Star and 20th Century Club.
"Miss Edith" was the matriarch of the Oliver Family and loved each and every one of them with her big heart. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Stephens and son-in-law Loye Stephens; son, Charles Welty "Charlie" Oliver Jr. and daughter-in-law Becky Oliver, all of Eupora; four grandchildren, Stephanie Stephens of Ridgeland, MS, Suzanne Stephens of Starkville, MS, Edie Oliver and Casey Oliver of Eupora; one great grandson, Collin Stephens of Ridgeland, MS; two sisters Pauline Boyd of Corinth, MS and Ruth Witherington of Bartlett, Tn. and two caregivers Martha Rogers and Ann Fondren of Eupora, MS
Memorials may be made to the Choir Fund or the Building Fund of the Eupora First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 268, Eupora, MS 39744.

Clara Chambliss Chappell

Funeral services for Clara Chambliss Chappell, 89, were held at 2:00 p. m. on Thursday, October 17, 2002 in the Tilgham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeny Lundy, officiating and Rev. Henry Thornton, assisting.
Burial was in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
She died at Winston Medical Center in Louisville.

Mrs. Chappell was a homemaker and member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and past church clerk for six years.
Survivors include: one daughter, Fay Chappell Boothe and husband Joe Boothe of College Station, , TX; one son, Richard Chappell and wife Jane Chappell of Byram; two sisters, Donie Whitehead of Louisville, Elsie Kirk and husband William of Louisville; one sister-in-law, Jewell Chambliss of Louisville; one brother-in-law: J. V. Talbert of Sequin, TX; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren
A host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by his husband: Clem Chappell; two daughters Joy Chappell Woodruff, Ida Mae Chappell; one son, Clement Chappell; and grandson, Brian Chappell.
Jiles Lynch

Funeral services were held for Jiles Lynch, 87, of Noxapater at Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church Feb. 22. Interment followed at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Rev. L. L. Logan officiated. Lynch died February 21, 2003.
Lynch was born March 6, 1915 in Louisville. He was retired truck driver and a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Juanita Loving Lynch; three daughters, Florean Moore, Aldean Hathorn, both of Chicago, Il, Leseea Coburn of St. Louis, Missouri; five sons, Hearchel Lynch, Walter Lynch, Billy Lynch all of Noxapater, Van Lynch and Arthur Lynch of Chicago; thirty seven grandchildren; and sixty three great grandchildren.

Mavis Sellers Wright

Funeral services were held for Mavis Sellers Wright, 85, of Louisville at First Presbyterian Church Feb. 24. Interment followed at Ellison Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Sam Smith officiated. Wright died February 22, 2003.
Wright was born July 15, 1917 in Louisville. She was homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Dale W. Green of Louisville; two sons, Dannie D. Wright and Terry Wright, both of Louisville; one brother, Audrey Sellers of San Antonio, TX; six sisters, Minnie Mae Eaves, Maggie Lee Haggard, Avis Hill, all of Louisville, Gwen Burrell, Modean Moore, both of Slidell, LA, and Marvine Kelley of Ocena Springs; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Homer Floyd Dalton, 62, of Mantee were held February 17, 2003 at Providence United Methodist Church in Maben and burial in the Church Cemetery.
Dalton died February 15, 2003 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
He was a retired maintenance electrician from Babcock and Wilcox, a member of Providence United Methodist Church in Maben and a native of Webster County. Dalton was the son of Eddie and Sallie Ruth Dalton.
Survivors include fiance' Betty Cordell of Maben; three sons, Tim Dalton of Nesbit, Mike Dalton of Caledonia, Stacy Dalton of Olive Branch; two grandchildren, Kayla and Lauren Dalton.
