Services for Vida Mae McNeil, 80, were held Friday, August 1, 2003 at Mt. Calvary M. B. Church in Louisville with Elder Harvey Scott officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McNeil died of cardiac arrest on July 25, 2003 at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY.
She was born May 18, 1923 in Louisville and was a nurse.
Survivors include, one Goddaughter, Frances Tucker, Noxapater; one sister, Bobbie Nell Carter of Louisville.

Mrs. Luvinice Ball Roach

Services for Luvinice Ball Roach, 56, were held at 2 p. m. on Wednesday July 23, 2003 at Mt. Calvary M. B. Church in Louisville with Rev. E. C. Pittman officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Roach died of cardiac arrest on July 18, 2003 in her home.
She was born June 23, 1947 in Louisville and was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Calvary M. B. Church.
Survivors include, her husband, Milton Roach; her mother, Velma Ball of Louisville; four daughters, Vanessa, Melinda, and Tina all of Louisville, and Nina of Philadelphia; five sons, Raymond, Allison, and Milton, Jr. all of Louisville, Benjamin of Philadelphia, Wydell of San Diego, CA, two brothers Emma Hawthorne and Murdis Jackson both of Louisville; one brother Lorenzo Ball of Chicago, IL; 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services for Shirley Dean, 60, were held at 12:30 p. m. on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Mt. Pleasant #2 M. B. Church in Noxapater with Rev. Sylvester Lampley officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Estes died of cardiac arrest on July 15, 2003 in her home.
She was born March 16, 1943 in Noxapater and was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant #2 M. B. Church.
Survivors include, one daughter, Valerie Carter of St. Paul, MN; two sisters, Donnie Moor of Noxapater and Aldean Ivy of Louisville; one brother Lavon Carter of Noxapater, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services for Denise Michell Short, 29, were held at 1 p. m. on Monday July 28, 2003 at Mt. Moriah M. B. Church in Louisville with Dr. B. M. Pittman officiating. Burial followed in the New Zion Cemetery.
Mrs. Short died of cardiac arrest on July 24, 2003 in her home.
She was born March 8, 1974 in Louisville. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Moriah M. B. Church.
Survivors include, her father, James Savior of Louisville; her mother Robin Goss of Louisville; her daughter Brianna Goss of Louisville; six sisters, Joyce Humphrey Shanklin, Angelia Jones, Anita Hathorne, Janice Savior, Net Savior, and Sophia Savior all of Louisville; 8 brothers, Levorn Humphrey of Florence AL, Dwight Humphrey, Jerry Savior, James Savior, Jr. , Derrick Johnson, Vondrerr Johnson and Dennis Eichelberger, all of Louisville, and Terry Eichelburger of St. Louis, MO.

Memorial services for Mrs. Mary Ann Gibson will be held in late October in LaCenter, Ky. She died Friday, July 4, 2003 in Mesa, Ariz.
Survivors include one son, Charles Gibson of Mesa, Ariz. ; two sisters, Faye Kay of Scottsdale, Ariz. , and Theresa Fulton of Louisville; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mrs. Edna Louise McElroy

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Edna Louise McElroy, 87, will be held at 10:30 a. m. Saturday, September 27, 2003 at Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Breland will officiate.
A native of Kosciusko, Mrs. McElroy moved from Ethel to California with her late husband, William Carter McElroy, in 1942. Mrs. McElroy was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Fresno, Calif. She had lived the last seven years in Arizona. Mrs. McElroy died Thursday, August 28, 2003 in Mesa, Ariz.
Survivors include two sons, Bill McElroy of Arizona and David McElroy of Florida; three sisters, Delores Sorenson and Coe Jepson, both of California, and Virginia Harpole of Maben; two brothers, Jack Barton and Buddy Barton, both of California; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Oliver Funeral Home of Winona.
Mr. Garvin Montgomery Hill

Funeral services for Mr. Garvin Montgomery Hill, 78, were held at 11 a. m. Saturday, September 13, 2003 at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Denham Springs, La. The Rev. Dave Basinger officiated. Burial followed in Hungarian Presbyterian Cemetery in Albany, La.
A native of Louisville, Mr. Hill was a retired pharmacist and a resident of Holden, La. He was a U. S. Army Air Forces veteran of Worl War II, having achieved the rank of sergeant. Mr. Hill died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at his home in Holden La.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Moritz Hill of Holden, La. ; four sons, Robert Michael Hill and Douglas Montgomery Hill, both of Albany, La. , James Michael Crisp of New York and Gregory Hill of Hammond, La. ; two daughters, Donna Lucille Hill of Mountain Home, Ark. , and Tracy Hill Stuyck of Detroit, Mich. ; one brother, Graham Hill of Atlanta; one sister, Sally Chappell of Louisville and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church, 726 Maple St. , Denham Springs, LA 70726.

Mr. Willie Lee "Bob" Hudson

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Lee "Bob" Hudson, 81, were held at 1 p. m. Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Preston. The Rev. William C. Brown officiated.
A native of Preston, Mr. Hudson was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, treasurer and choir member. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in World War II. Mr. Hudson was one of the founders of Kemper County's Headstart program and was a Mason and lifetime member of the NAACP. Mr. Hudson died Friday, September 12, 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Hudson of Preston; one sister, Sheila Smith; one stepbrother; one stepsister; 12 grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Hampton Funeral Home of Louisville.

Funeral services for Mr. Steve Allen Hardin, 42, were held at 2 p. m. Thursday, September 18, 2003 at Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. The Rev. Larando Metts officiated. Burial followed at Union Chapel Cemetery.
A native of Louisville, Mr. Hardin was a business manager. He was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. He died Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include his mother, Annie L. Hardin of Louisville; his grandmother, Alberta Metts of Louisville; three sisters, Betty Covington and Cassandra Hardin, both of Louisville, and Helen H. Bush of Knoxville, Tenn. ; and seven brothers, Troy L. Hardin, James Hardin, Tracy L. Hardin and Medford D. Hardin, all of Louisville, Shelly R. Hardin of Sacremento, Calif. , Alvin Hardin of Houston, Texas, and Laventa D. Hardin of Knoxville, Tenn.

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Lee Burge, 60, were held at 4 p. m. Saturday, September 20, 2003 at East Jerusalem Baptist Church in Toomsuba. Pastor Ben Winford officiated.
A native of Lauderdale County, Mr. Burge was retired from St. Louis Blow Pipe after about 20 years of service. He educated in the Lauderdale County School System and was baptized at East Jerusalem Baptist Church in Toomsuba. He married the former Emma Wallace on March 10, 2964. Mr. Burge died Monday, September 15, 2003 at his home in Meridian.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Jean Burge of Meridian; two daughters, Emma Mae Burge Hopson of Meridian and Theresa Burge of Omaha, Neb. ; two sons, Jimmie Lee Burge Jr. of Omaha, Neb. , and Ronnie Burge of Fort Polk, La. ; his mother, Annie Sue Brown of Omaha, Neb. ; two sisters, Annie Lee Lockett and Lind Sue Rolling, both of Omaha, Neb. ; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Graveside funeral services fo Mr. Jim T. Jones, 84, were held at 2 p. m. Wednesday, September 17, 2003, at Morton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Lundy and the Rev. Jerry Holmes officiated.
Mr. Jones, a Louisville resident, was a native of the Leesburg Community in Rankin County and a former resident of Polkville prior to moving to Morton, where he lived most of his life. He had lived in Louisville for the past fourteen years. Mr. Jones worked in law enforcement for many years, having worked for Morton Police Department, for security for the University Medical Center in Jackson and at the Hinds County Sheriff's Department prior to retiring. He was an army veteran of World War II and was a former member of the George Green Memorial V. F. W. Post #5586 in Morton. Mr. Jones died Monday, September 15, 2003 at Winston County Nursing Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Gregory of Louisville; one son, Jimmy Jones of Baton Rouge, La; one brother, Lloyd Jones of Greenville; one sister, Lorene Byars of Philadelphia; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were W. D. Shoemaker, Jimmy Rogers, Hiram Richardson, Leslie Huff, Richard Pickett and Floyd Garland Sr.

Mr. Purvis "Pug" Keene

Funeral services for Mr. Purvis "Pug" Keene, 84, were held at 3 p. m. Friday, September 19, 2003 at West End Baptist Church in Louisville. Dr. Wayne Hill officiated and the Rev. Mike Mullins assisted. Burial followed at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Keen was a retired, self-employed building contractor. He was a member of West End Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Keene died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Monfort Jones Hospital in Kosciusko.
Survivors include one son, Rodger Keene of Huntsville, Ala. ; one sister, Mary Jewel Mayo of Louisville; one brother, E. W. Keene of Augusta, Ga. , and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Garry Mayo, Terrell Mayo, Randall Livingston, Johnny Mitchell and Clarence Nance.
Arrangements were made by Nowell-Tilghman Funeral Home of Louisville.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Reed, 53, will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at Nowell-Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. The Rev. David Chandler and the Rev. Tommy Cherry will officiate. Burial will follow at Ellison Ridge Cemetery.
A native of Louisville and a resident of Meridian, Mr. Reed was a maintenance worker for Sara Lee Bakery and a member of the Moose Lodge. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Meridian. Mr. Reed died Sunday, September 21, 2003 at Rush Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Hurt Reed of Meridian; one daughter, Amy Michelle Reed of Meridian; two sons, Tim Reed and Kenneth Reed, both of Meridian; two sisters, Lou Johnson of Louisville and Barbara Gramble of Meridian; one brother, Quinton Reed of Erata, La. , and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tim Dowdy, Eddie Hyde, Pete Johnson, Gregg Reed, J. D. Broadway and Dan Broadway.
