Mrs. Annie Mae Edmond

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Mae Edmond, 86, were held at 2 p. m. May 22, at Pleasant Grove U. M. Chapel in Louisville. Rev. Preston Coleman officiated. Burial followed in Rocky Hill cemetery in Louisville.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Edmond was a homemaker. She was also a member of Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Edmond died May 15, 2010 at Berkshire Nursing and Rehab Center in Forest Park, IL.

Survivors include stepmother Lucinda Walker, daughters Sallie Carr of Tylertown, MS. , and Annie Brown of Lake Forrest, CA. , sons Leon Edmond of Maywood, IL. , James Edmond and Wille Edmond both of Louisville, MS. , Phillip Edmond and Howard Edmond both of Rosemont, CA. , sisters Katie Glenn of West Point, MS. , Emma Betty, Nettie and Patricia all of Chicago, IL. , brothers Johnny B. , of Greenville, MS. , Jimmy, Johnny, Eddie and Sylvester all of Chicago, IL. , 23 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Beck Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lawson B. “L. B. ” Quinn

Mr. Lawson B. “L. B. ” Quinn, 82, died Wednesday, May 19, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, May 20 at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Ham, Rev. Wesley Landrum, and Rev. Hubert Yates officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Quinn was born March 25, 1928, in Winston County. He retired after 37 1/2 years as machine shop foreman with Taylor Machine Works. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Hamm Quinn of Louisville; two daughters, Vickie Hatten of Slidell, LA, and Betty Landrum of Union, MS; a son, Billy J. Quinn of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Jane Sherwood of Lake Hafasu City, AZ; seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Quinn Hatten, Will Quinn, David Landrum, Brad Landrum, Randy Kemp, and Curtis Quinn. Honorary pallbearers were Hoyle Higgason, Billy Quinn, Wayne Joiner, W. P. Johnson, Jimmy C. Thomas, Jr. , Steve Daniel, Kevin Hamm, Ronny Hamm, John Upchurch, Gene Hill, and Olen Johnson. Memorials may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund, 5070 Hwy 397, Louisville, MS, 39339, or St. Judes Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. Mr. Walter Henry Shows

Funeral services for Mr. Walter Henry Shows, 69, were held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville. Rev. Walter Simmons and Rev. Rodney Smith officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Ovett, MS.

A native of Ovett, Mr. Shows was a retired district conservationist for the Soil Conservation Service. He was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church and was a U. S. Army veteran. Mr. Shows died Saturday, September 16, 2006, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Shows of Louisville; mother, Lorene Shows of Ovett, MS; three daughters, Cheryl Freeman of Canyon, TX, Mary Westerburg of Brandon, MS, and Margaret King of Oxford, MS; one son, Mark Shows of Louisville; four sisters, Hilda Woodward of Ovett, MS, Linda Woodward of Slidell, LA, Pat Turner of Ellisville, MS, and Tommie Shows of Brandon, MS; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Roy Rogers, Gary Boatner, Rusty Foster, Harley Eaves, Ricky Miller, and Leslie Charlton.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Sta-Home Hospice, or Murphy Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gladys Waldine Kent Whitehead

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Waldine Kent Whitehead, 85, were held at 2:00, Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Macon. Bro. Greg Duncan officiated. The burial followed in Vernon Assembly Cemetery near Louisville, MS.

A native of Kemper County, Mrs. Whitehead was retired from United Technologies. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Whitehead died Thursday May 20, 2010 at Windsor Nursing Home in Columbus, MS.

Survivors include daughters E. Marie Reedy (Ed), Dorrotha D. Ridgon of Meridian, MS, Anna Jean Roberts (Raymond) of El Dorado, KS, Martha L. Moore (Steve) of Ethelsville, AL, Myra N. Denton (Stanley) of Macon, MS, sons William “Billy” E. Whitehead (Dianne) of Macon, MS, Willie Whitehead (Linda) of Jackson, MS, sisters Edna Lucille “Bill” Hatcher (Dylynn), Myrtis “Dot” Stokes of Louisville, MS, Mary “Crick” Drago (Fred), Onidia “Badoll” Tillman of Mobile, AL, Annette “Sally” Ivy (Charles) of Starkville, MS, brothers Harold Kent (Mattie) of Columbus, MS, William “Cotton” Kent (Margaret) of Ackerman, MS, Charles Kent (Jamie) of Mobile, AL, twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 105 Dent St. , Macon, MS 39341.

Mrs. Jean Fancher Smith

Mrs. Jean Fancher Smith, 82, died Friday, May 21, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Graveside services were held at 2:30 P. M. Sunday, May 23rd, at Betheden Cemetery, with Rev. Arthur Story and Rev. Billy Bowie officiating. Interment was in Betheden Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born April 23, 1928, in Columbus, MS. She was a Registered Nurse, and was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the adult choir.

She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth “Frankie” McKenzie of Louisville; and a brother, Fant G. Fancher of Edwards, MS.

Pallbearers were Bart Chancellor, Clay Chancellor, Don Chancellor, Don Rogers, Speedy Calvert, Larry Moorehead, and Ellis Holdiness. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 547, Louisville, MS, 39339.

Mr. James H. "Moon" Bearden

Funeral services for Mr. James H. "Moon" Bearden, 79, were held at 3 p. m. Sunday, October 17, 2004 at Nowell-Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. The Rev. Kevin Cooley and the Rev. Mike Skipper officiated. Burial followed in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

A resident of Louisville, Mr. Bearden worked in road construction. He was a member of Wess Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. Mr. Bearden died Friday, October 15, 2004 at his home in Louisville.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Moorehead Bearden of Louisville; two daughters, Pam Reel and Marsha Partridge, both of Louisville; four foster sisters, Junie Fuller, Gail Harrelson, Shirley Livingston and Sue Reed, all of Louisville; two grandchildren, Amanda Reel and Kaci Reel of Louisville, one great nephew Kris Lee of Indiana and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers were David Bearden, Bobby Fuller, Paul Gentry, James Johnson, Chris Robinson and Chester Triplett. Honorary pallbearers were Don Chancellor, Johnny Moorehead, Joey Partridge, Billy Ward and Lannie Wright.

Memorials may be made to Wess Chapel Baptist Church.

Mr. Henry Ford Triplett

Funeral services for Mr. Henry Ford Triplett, 88, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, October 17, 2004 at Nowell-Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. The Rev. David Keen and the Rev. Mike Ingram officiated. Burial followed in Perkinsville Cemetery.

A resident of Louisville, Mr. Triplett was a farmer and a logger. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Triplett died Friday, October 15, 2004 at his home in Louisville.

Survivors include his wife, Waldine Haggard Triplett of Louisville; four daughters, Janie Carr, Peggy Hailey, Elsie Ming and Billie Triplett, all of Louisville; one son, Johnny Triplett of Columbus; three stepsisters, Margaret Quinn of Louisville, Pansy Robertson of Pascagoula and Mary Wedgeworth of Union; a niece, Carol Cordan of Columbia, SC; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Johnson "Bubba" Carr, Allen Hailey, Malcolm Hailey, Chip Luke, Rocky Miles, Kylie Ming, Timmy Ming, Gregg Thomas and Brent Walton. Honorary pallbearers were Laura Beth Hailey, Kady Rose Hailey, Tanner Luke, Tatum Luke, Cayson Miles, Landon Miles, Gage Parker, Jennifer K. Thomas and Brock Ward.

Ms. Lottie "Billie" Will Wayne

Graveside funeral services for Ms. Lottie "Billie" Will Wayne, 89, were held at 2 p. m. Monday, October 18, 2004 at Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Winston County. The Rev. Walter Simmons officiated.

A resident of Birmingham, Ala. , and former resident of Louisville, Ms. Wayne was a retired secretary. She was a member of Huffman Baptist Church in Birmingham. Ms. Wayne died Sunday, October 16, 2004 at Sylacauga Health Care Facility in Sylacauga, Ala.

Survivors include two nieces, Barbara L. Childs of Montgomery, Aland Fay R. Howell of Sylacauga, AL and two nephews, Ira Wayne Childs of Mobile, AL and Thomas William Childs of Jonesboro, AR.

Mr. James Doyle Eaves

Funeral services for Mr. James Doyle Eaves, 62, were held at 2 p. m. Friday, October 22, 2004 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Linhares and Rev. Rany Impson officiating. Burial followed in Oktibbeha Memorial Park.

A native of Louisville, Mr. Eaves owned Eaves Animal Hospital in Starkville for 37 years and resided in Starkville. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Bearden died Tuesday, October 19, 2004 in an auto accident in Louisville.

Dr. Eaves was born in Louisville to Tildon and Lillian Eaves. He was a graduate of Louisville High School, East Central Junior College, Mississippi State University, and received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University.

He married Helen Tucker in 1958 and lived most of their life together in Starkville. Dr. Eaves was actively involved with the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was an active member and supporter of the MSU Bulldog Club. He also served as treasurer of the Oktibbeha County Economic Development Association.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Tucker Eaves of Starkville; two sons and their wives, Clint and Shannon Eaves of Jackson, and Chad and Natalie Eaves; Daughter-in-law Vickie Eaves of Decatur, AL; two sisters, Clara Rogers of Louisville and Janice Gee of Thibodaux, LA; one brother, Dr. Glen Eaves of Knoxville; and two granddaughters, Kristina and Valerie Eaves.

Pallbearers were Chad Peterson, Mike Edwards, Harry Nowell, John Rogers, Brain Steed, William McKinley, Matthew Tucker, and Jeffrey Tucker. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the "Liar's Table", OCEDA members, Jack Carroll, Dr. Stuart Denman, Dr. Henry Watson, Dr. Bob Warren and Dr. Wayne Groce.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Calvary or New Covenant Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ruthie Mae "Sis" Ingram

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruthie Mae "Sis" Ingram, 79, were held at 2 p. m. Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Ebenezer Church of God in Christ in Louisville. Supt. Joe Willie Idom officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Louisville.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Ingram was a homemaker. She was a member of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ. Mrs. Ingram died Friday, October 15, 2004 at her home in Louisville.

Survivors include her husband, James Ingram of Louisville; four daughters, Susie Mae King of Hartford, Conn. , Emma Jane Coburn and Evelyn Mays, both of Louisville, and Virginia Goss of New Britain, Conn. ; three sons, David Goss Jr. of Louisville, Thomas Hardy of Bremerton, Wash. , and Terry Goss of Hartford, Conn. ; two sisters, Aslean Steele and Margaret Hathorn, both of Louisville; one brother, Anthony Triplett of Louisville, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Gladys Lett Dearman

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Lett Dearman, 78, were held at 11:00 A. M. Thursday, November 10, 2005, at the Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Rev. David Reeves, Rev. Ron Thomas, and Rev. Mike Dowd officiated. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Dearman was a homemaker and a member of Newlife Church of God of Greenville, MS. Mrs. Dearman died Sunday, November 6, 2005, at the Winston Medical Nursing Home in Louisville.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Dearman; two daughters, Pat Horton of Louisville and Barbara Reeves of Oxford, MS; one son, Major Roger A. Dearman of Vancouver, WA; three sisters, Minnie Kellum of Cleveland, MS, Alice Allbritton of Greenville, MS, and Pauline Holcomb of Greenwood, MS; two brothers, Roscoe Lett of Shaw, MS, and Paul Lett of Hartford, AL; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Mr. Window Homer Kelly

Funeral services for Mr. Window Homer Kelly, 77, were held at 1:00 P. M. Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Mt. Ary M. B. Church in Philadelphia, MS. Rev. Charles Griffin officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Kelly was a retired logger. Mr. Kelly died Monday, November 7, 2005, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.

Survivors include his two daughters, Doris Jones and Gail Snipes, both of Saginaw, MI; two sons, Lafarn Kelly and Odie Kelly, both of Philadelphia, MS; one sister, Beatrice Carter of Syracuse, NY; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
