Dr. T. F. Snead

Funeral services for Dr. T. F. Snead, 72, were held at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Rev. Dan Blake and Rev. Danny Bryant officiated. Burial followed in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Ackerman.

A resident of Ackerman, Dr. Snead was the retired owner and operator of Snead's Chiropractic Clinic where he practiced for 43 years. He was a member off Bethlehem Baptist Church and served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Dr. Snead died Monday, November 7, 2005, at his residence in Ackerman.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Snead of Ackerman; one brother, John Snead of Tuscaloosa, AL; one sister, Bobbie Jones of Dora, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and patients.

Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Edna Bennett

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Bennett, 87, were held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, November 11, 2005, at Bethlehem Pentecostal Church. Rev. James McFall officiated. Burial followed in Bethlehem Church Cemetery.

A resident of Philadelphia, Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Bennett died Tuesday, November 8, 2005, in Kosciusko, MS.

Survivors include her two sons, James Bennett of Philadelphia and Dwight Bennett of Quitman, MS; three daughters, Donis Hobby of Noxapater, MS, Charlynn Rivers of Somerville, AL, and Glenda Barager of Lake Orion, MI; one sister, Dorothy Edwards of Grenada, MS; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Michael Bennett, Christopher Barager, Tim Hobby, Britt Bennett, Heath Bennett, and Thad Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Pentecostal Church Cemetery Fund.

Culpepper Funeral Services of Kosciusko was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dovie Quinn Cumberland

Funeral services for Mrs. Dovie Quinn Cumberland, 84, were held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, November 11, 2005, from the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia. Rev. Lawrence Pool and Rev. Richie Davis officiated. Burial followed in Coy Methodist Cemetery in Preston.

A native of Kemper County and resident of Neshoba, Mrs. Cumberland was a member of Coye Assembly of God Church and was a retired long-time employee of Wells-Lamont Corp. Mrs. Cumberland died Thursday, November 10, 2005, at the Neshoba County Nursing Home.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Crenshaw of Union; four sisters, Diane Guy of Lucedale, Lucille McNeil of Ocean Springs, Patsy Case of Quitman, and JoAnn Johnson of Biloxi; one brother, Billy Quinn of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

McClain-Hays Funeral Home of Philadelphia was in charge of arrangements.

Infant Sarah Beth Gillis

Funeral services for infant Sarah Beth Gillis were held at 3:00 P. M. Sunday, November 13, 2005, at Antioch Baptist Church in Louisville. Rev. Bobby Joe Butler and Rev. James Yarbrough officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Sarah Beth Gillis died Thursday, November 10, 2005, fifteen days after her birth, at the Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Survivors include her parents, Robert and Kristy Gillis of Louisville; one brother, Burket Gillis of Louisville; and grandparents, David and Linda Clay of Louisville and Lady Gillis of Louisville.

Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Birmingham, 920 17th Street, Birmingham, AL 35205.

Mr. James Alvin Redd

Funeral services for Mr. James Alvin Redd, 82, were held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Rev. Steve Jordan and Rev. Danny Irvin officiated. Burial followed in Enon Cemetery in Ackerman, MS.

A resident of Ackerman, Mr. Redd was a timber buyer and a member of Chester Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II and red water meters for the Choctaw Water Association for many years. Mr. Redd died Thursday, November 10, 2005, at his residence in Ackerman.

Survivors include his two daughters, Patricia McClure of Ackerman and Susan Vaughn of Eupora; three sisters, Ella Edwards of Huntsville, AL, Ila R. Murphy of Ackerman, and Jewell Quinn of Ackerman; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Ackerman Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 277, Ackerman, MS 39735.

Mr. Albert "Al" P. Bankson

Funeral services for Mr. Albert "Al" P. Bankson, 76, were held at 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at the Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Rev. Keith Dendy officiated. Burial followed in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Los Angeles, CA, Mr. Bankson was a real estate counselor and was of the Catholic faith. He served nine years in the US Navy and attended George Washington University and UCLA, earning a Masters degree in Public Administration. He worked with the Department of Housing and Urban Development for ten years and was Area Coordinator over several western states and Hawaii. After retiring from the federal government, he became a self-employed real estate counselor and moved his family to his wife's home state of Mississippi in 1980 where he pursued his career for the next twenty-five years. Mr. Bankson died Sunday, November 13, 2005, at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Willie Mae Lowrey Bankson; one daughter, Diana Grindstaff; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chris Crowson, Frankie Joe Crowson, Rev. Bobby Lowrey, Joe Lowrey, Keith Lowrey, and Kenneth Lowrey.

Nowell Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. George Kelvin Lyon

Funeral services for Mr. George Kelvin Lyon, 40, were held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, September 28, 2006, at Jerusalem Temple in Philadelphia. Bro. Jerry Graham officiated.

A native of Meridian, MS, Mr. Lyon was a 1984 graduate of Neshoba Central High School and went on to receive an associate's degree from East Central Community College and a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Emparia State University as well as a master's of science in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was also a member of Morris Road Church of Christ in Gulfport, MS. Mr. Lyon died Wednesday, September 20, 2006.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Lyon; two sisters, Bonnie Lynn Brownlee and Delphine Howard, both of Chicago, IL; and three brothers, MacArthur Lyon of Cleo Michigan, Dennis Andrew Lyon of Noxapater, MS, and Delvin Lyon of Chicago, IL.

Hampton Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. James Mack Tanksley

Funeral services for Mr. James Mack Tanksley, 43, were held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, September 30, 2006, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Louisville. Rev. Roosevelt Gave officiated. Burial followed in Oliver Cemetery.

A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Tanksley was employed at the Winston Medical Center. He was also a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Philadelphia. Mr. Tanksley died Thursday, September 21, 2006, at the Winston Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Tanksley; mother, Annette Thames of Philadelphia; two daughters, Marshona and Martesha; one son, Marcus; two sisters, Sharon and Brenda; and grandmother, Georgia Ruth Thames.

Mrs. Amanda Whitehead

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Whitehead, 90, will be held at 1:00 p. m. Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at the Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Rev. Mike Ingram officiated. Burial followed in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Whitehead was a homemaker and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Whitehead died Saturday, September 30, 2006, at the Winston Medical Center in Louisville.

Survivors include her son, Riley Whitehead of Louisville; one sister, Rebecca Robinson of Louisville; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Good Hope Baptist Church.

Mr. George Hays Duett

Funeral services for Mr. George Hays Duett, 60, were held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at Salem Baptist Church in the Burnside Community of Neshoba County. Rev. Stacy Madison, Rev. Duaine Morgan, and Dr. Eugene Dobbs officiated. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery.

A native and lifelong resident of the Burnside Community in Neshoba County, Mr. Duett was a registered forester, real estate broker, and appraiser. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and a member of Salem Baptist Church and of the Mississippi Forestry Association. Mr. Duett died Sunday, October 8, 2006, at his home in Neshoba County.

Survivors include his brothers, Stuart Duett of Philadelphia, Steve Duett of Sebastopool, and Greg Duett of Philadelphia; step-father, Tommy Wren of Philadelphia; and step-brother, Ricky Wren of Philadelphia.

Pallbearers were J. P. Watson, Spence Stork, Robbye Warren, David Moody, Stanley Salter, Paul Breazeale, and Lynn Yates.

McClain-Hays Funeral Home of Philadelphia was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Florence Libby

Graveside services for Mrs. Florence Libby, 91, were held at 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at Memorial Park Cemetery with memorial services following at 12:00 noon at Louisville Presbyterian Church. Rev. Chris Kiepe officiated.

A native of West Point, MS, Mrs. Libby co-owned Libby's Shoes in Louisville with her husband, Frank Libby, for many years. She was also a member of Louisville Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Libby died Monday, October 9, 2006, at the Winston Medical Center in Louisville.

Survivors include her daughter, Frankie L. Pearce of Atlanta, GA; son, Dr. David Ray Libby of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Louisville Presbyterian Church, French Camp Academy, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Mrs. Annie Charlean Graham Carter

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Charlean, Graham, Carter, 66, were held at 2:30 p. m. Sunday, October 15, 2006, at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. Rev. E. C. Pittman officiated. Burial followed in Little Calvary Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Carter died Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Hospital in Meridian.

Survivors include her daughter, Vanessa Carter of Louisville; two sons, Richard Kenneth Carter of McCool and Tony Lavon Carter of Kosciusko; four sisters, Anna Beth of Chicago, Illinois, Polly of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Edna Faye of Merferboro, and Gloria of Louisville; three brothers, Evan Graham, Prentiss Graham, and Tony Curtis Graham, all of Louisville; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Winfred Whitehead

Funeral services for Mr. Winfred Whitehead, 86, were held at 3:00 p. m. Saturday, October 14, 2006, at the Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Rev. Mike Ingram officiated. Burial followed in Whitehead Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mr. Whitehead was a farmer and served in the Air Force during World War II. Mr. Whitehead died Wednesday, October 11, 2006, in Louisville.

Survivors include his sister, Maggie Massingill of Noxapater.

Pallbearers were Jerry Whitehead, Eddy Roland, Jacob Roland, Corey Smith, Gene Smith, and David Massingill. Honorary pallbearers were J. P. Fulton, Louis Hatcher, and Billy Keith Johnson.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
