Funeral services for Mrs. Billie Rose Whittington, 67, were held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, October 14, 2006, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Rev. Wilson D. Hughes officiated. Burial followed in Concord Baptist Cemetery near Ackerman.

A native of Louisiana and resident of Weir, Mrs. Whittington was a factory worker and a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Whittington died Thursday, October 12, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus.

Survivors include her two sons, Billy James Whittington of Weir and Charles Whittington of Raleigh, NC; three daughters, Clora Brown of Vicksburg, Mary Crocker of Ackerman, and Bonnie Eldridge of Saltillo; brother, Frank Brown of Delta, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bernice Netherland

Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Netherland, 72, were held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, October 14, 2006, at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville. Rev. Billy Bowie officiated. Burial followed in Coy Methodist Cemetery.

A native of Jasper County, Mrs. Netherland was a retired real estate broker and a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville. Mrs. Netherland died Friday, October 13, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Survivors include her son, Paul Allen Netherland of Semmes, Alabama, and sister, Mrs. Lois McBrayer of Louisville.

Mr. Raymond Carl McGowans

Funeral services for Mr. Raymond Carl McGowans, 83, were held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Louisville. Bro. Bennie Henderson officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mr. McGowans was a laborer and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Louisville. Mr. McGowans died Saturday, November 11, 2006.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Mae McGowans; four daughters, Rose Mary Eichelberger of Noxapater, Linda Lockett of Louisville, Angela Johnson of Memphis, TN, and Katrina Cheadle of Kansas City, MO; two sons, Raymond G. McGowans of Pembroke Pine, FL, and George Miller of Louisville; one sister, Florine Verdun of Flint, MI; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ophelia Cooper Goss, 93, were held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. Rev. Lewis Harris, Jr. , officiated. Burial followed in Union Chapel Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Goss was a homemaker and a member of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Goss died Monday, November 13, 2006, at the Winston Medical Center in Louisville.

Survivors include her sister, Eldora Miller of Louisville; and brother, Joe Cooper of Sturgis.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny W. Stennis, 65, were held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. Rev. John Baber officiated. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mr. Stennis was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a graduate of Louisville Public Schools. Mr. Stennis died Monday, November 13, 2006.

Survivors include his two sons, Daniel Stennis of Winona and Johnny Ray Stennis of Vaiden; mother, Inez Stennis; three sisters; three brothers; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Moore, 80, were held at 1:00 p. m. Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Preston. Rev. A. L. Hopkins officiated. Burial followed in Anderson Jackson Cemetery.

A native of Preston, Mrs. Moore was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle Church of God in Preston. Mrs. Moore died Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at Rush Hospital in Meridian.

Survivors include her five daughters, Gracie J. Ivy of Memphis, TN, Bobbie J. Burrowes of Gautier, MS, Mary Jane Brown of Preston, Adeline Bush of Gautier, MS, and Betty V. Moore of Preston; five sons, Otis Dawkins, Jr. , of Biloxi, Roger Marrell of Meridian, C. D. Moore of Gautier, Mack A. Moore of Haughton, LA, and Lewis Moore of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Addie Scale and Jimmie Fulton, both of Preston; two brothers, Walter Fulton of Preston and Solomon Fulton of Detroit, MI; 25 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A native of Louisville, Mr. Edmond was a truck driver and a member of Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. Mr. Edmond died Thursday, November 16, 2006, at the Winston Medical Center in Louisville.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae Edmond; two daughters, Sallie Carr of Tylertown, MS, and Annie Brown of Lake Forrest, CA; five sons, Leon Edmond of Maywood, IL, James Edmond and Willie Edmond of Louisville, and Phillip Edmond and Howard Edmond of Rosemaot, CA; one sister, Dottie Lindsey; one brother, Robert Lee Edmond; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Sherrod was a homemaker and a member of Lake Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. Mrs. Sherrod died Thursday, November 16, 2006, at the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home.

Survivors include her six daughters, Daisie Lee Landingham of Painesville, OH, Ruth Erby, Earline Swanigan, and Sarah Branch of Louisville, Jettie Victor of Milan, IL, and Dorothy Sellers of Louisville; seven sons, Louis Davis of Milan, IL, Rev. Charlie Davis of Starkville, MS, Eugene Sherrod, Billy Sherrod, and Willie Sherrod of Rock Island, IL, and Geoffrey Dean Sherrod of Vancouver, Washington; one brother, Rev. E. L. Logan of Louisville; 52 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren, and 65 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ms. Dorothy Sue Tatum, 53, were held at 2:00 p. m. Friday, November 24, 2006, at Jerusalem Temple Church in Philadelphia. Bishop Mack Jimerson officiated. Burial followed in Donald Rest Cemetery.

A native of Philadelphia, Ms. Tatum was a homemaker and a member of Jerusalem Temple Church in Philadelphia. Ms. Tatum died Friday, November 17, 2006, at the Neshoba County Nursing Home.

Survivors include her mother, Comean Tatum.

Dr. Nolan Wayne Fulton, Jr.

Funeral services for Dr. Nolan Wayne Fulton, Jr. , 82, were held at 11:00 a. m. November 22, 2006, at Rocky Hill United Methodist Church in Louisville. Rev. Larry Haggad, Rev. Bill Mills, and Rev. Dr. Harry Gay officiated. Burial followed in the Rocky Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Dr. Fulton was a retired surgeon. He graduated from Louisville High School in 1941 and received his medical degree from the University of Alabama. He served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Haskell as a Pharmacist Mate and in the United States Army during Vietnam as a surgeon. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Legion of Merit, the WWII Victory Medal, an American Theater Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Overseas Service Bars, and National Palm. Dr. Fulton was inducted into the American College of Surgeons in 1976, and after his retirement from the Army in 1983, he practiced medicine in Louisville and later served as Clinical Director at Choctaw Health Center in Philadelphia. He was also a member of Rocky Hill United Methodist Church in Louisville. Dr. Fulton died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Hospital in Meridian.

Survivors include his wife, De De McGee Fulton of Louisville; one daughter, Carolyn Newhouse of Dayton, Ohio; one son, Nolan Wayne Fulton, III, of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; three step-daughters, Jo Jackson, Stephanie McVay, and Linda McGee, all of Memphis, Tenn. ; one step-son, Michael McGee of Memphis, Tenn. ; one brother, Sam Fulton of Louisville; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tony Fulton, Brandon Fulton, Larry Fulton, Harry Fulton, Robert Garrigues, and Joe Clark. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Sam Suttle, Walton Fulton, Sonny Boydstun, John L. Long, Bobby Clark, Charles Clark, and Billy Fulcher.

Memorials may be made to Rocky Hill United Methodist Church, 650 Boydstun Road, Louisville, MS 39339 or to the American Diabetes Association.

Funeral services for Mr. John Robert "JR" McClain, Jr. , 29, were held at 1 p. m. Saturday, November 25, 2006, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Sister Linda Dempsey officiated. Burial followed in Blythe Creek Baptist Cemetery.

A native of Maben and resident of Eupora, Mr. McClain was an industrial electrician and was a member of the Highways and Hedges Worship Center. Mr. McClain died Sunday, November 19, 2006, in Coopersville, Michigan.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte McClain of Eupora; parents, John Robert McClain, Sr. , and Margaret Jones McClain of Mathiston; one son, Jonathan Dylan McClain of Eupora; two daughters, Brittney Nicole McClain and Cassie Lynn McClain of Eupora; and two sisters, Christy Birchfield of Louisville and Julie Womack of Eupora.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Rohelia was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Church of Christ in Louisville. Mrs. Rohelia died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at The Grove Care Center in Columbia, MS.

Survivors include her daughter, Margie Dailey of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Martile Broom of Cleveland, OH, and Mary J. Johnson of Saginaw, MI; six brothers, Fletcher Idom, Arther Idom, Willie Stovall and F. C. Hathorn of Cleveland, OH, Elder Joe Willie Idom of Louisville, and Supt. Fred Idom of Columbia, MS.

Mr. Donald R. McKnight

Funeral services for Mr. Donald R. McKnight, 56, were held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Doug Atkinson officiated. Burial followed in South Union Methodist Cemetery near Ackerman.

A native of Kosciusko, Mr. McKnight was a self employed carpenter. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Mr. McKnight died Monday, November 20, 2006, in Ackerman.

Survivors include his son, Bobby McKnight of Reform, MS; his daughter, Leah McKnight of Fentress, MS; three brothers, Dale McKnight, Jackie McKnight, and Jimmie McKnight, all of Weir; his sister, Linda Baxter of Weir; his aunt, Gloria King of Weir; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to New Zion Baptist Church near Weir.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ in Louisville, MS. Mrs. Branch died June 14, 2006 in Chicago, IL.

Survivors include her children, Eddie Deloach (Glenda) of Hattiesburg, MS and Annie Lou Glenn (Woodroe) of Chicago, IL. ; a sister, Ed Lee Cline of Chicago, IL. ; aunt, Flora Moore of Macon; 12 stepchildren, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 66 step-grandchildren, 1 nephew, 3 nieces, and a host of step-great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
