Funeral services for Mr. Rufus McReynolds, 64, were held at 3 p. m. Sunday, September 5, 2004 at Little Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. The Rev. L. B. Hathorn officiated. Burial followed in Little Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mr. McReynolds was a laborer. Mr. McReynolds died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at San Mateo Medical Center in Burlingame, Calif.

Survivors include six sisters, Feddis Roby of Milwaukee, Wisc., Emma Gamblin of Hayward, Calif., Marie Dawkins of Saginaw, Mich., Dorothy Barnes of Bassfield, Clarnett Hathorn of Lexington and Mary Joyce Andrew of Muscle Shoals, Ala., and five brothers, Junior McReynolds of Redwood City, Calif., Albert McReynolds of Santa Clara, Calif., Columbus McReynolds of Louisville; Keith McReynolds of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Allen McReynolds of Waynesboro.

Beck Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Leonard Carey Russell

Wednesday, September 1, 2004

Funeral services for Mr. Leonard Carey Russell, 76, were held at 3 p. m. Saturday, September 4, 2004 at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville. The Rev. David Hardy officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Louisville.

A native of Homer, La., and resident of Noxapater, Mr. Russell was retired after 22 years in the United States Air Force and worked for 20 years as an electrician at Georgia-Pacific. He was a veteran, having served in three wars: World War II, the Vietnam War and the Korean War. Mr. Russell died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at his home in Noxapater.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ann Crowson Russell of Noxapater; two daughters, Karen French of Bay Minette, Ala., and Anita Lea of Lebanon, Tenn. ; one son, Dennis Russell of Birmingham, Ala. ; his mother, Mrs. Pearl Russell of Louisville and three grandchildren.

Porter Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ricky Ray White

Sunday, September 5, 2004

Funeral services for Mr. Ricky Ray White, 52, were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville. The Rev. Bobby Joe Butler and the Rev. Kenny White officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Louisville.

A native of Marked Tree, Ark., and resident of Louisville, Mr. White was a correctional officer for 15 years at the State Penitentiary in Parchman and a truck driver. He was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church. Mr. White died Sunday, September 5, 2004 at his home in Louisville.

Survivors include one daughter, Chasity Watts of Louisville; his mother, Mrs. Betty S. White of Louisville; two sisters, Gloria Edwards and Margaret Eaves, both of Louisville, and two brothers, Coy White Jr. and Tommy White, both of Louisville.

Mr. Jeves Wilbourn

Friday, September 3, 2004

Funeral services for Mr. Jeves Wilbourn, 73, were held at 11 a. m. Friday, September 10, 2004 at Valley Queen Missionary Baptist Church in Marks. The Rev. Carl Brown officiated. Burial followed in Booker Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mr. Wilbourn was a laborer. Mr. Wilbourn died Friday, September 3, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Ollie Dell Wilbourn of Louisville; seven daughters, LaTonya Brumfield and Annette Ruth, both of Atlanta, Ga., Pinky Slater of Louisville, Brenda Harris of Columbus, Vanessa Harris and Julia Harris, both of Chicago, Ill., and Jean Triplett of Philadelphia; one son, David Harris of Chicago, Ill. ; two sisters, Alice Wilbourn of Fayette and Iola Collins of Marks; three brothers, James Wilbourn of Milwaukee, Wisc., Frank Wilbourn of Marks and Calvin Lloyd Wilbourn of Maywood, Ill., and 13 grandchildren.

Mrs. Lillian Ethel Clark Cooper

Monday, September 6, 2004

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Ethel Clark Cooper, 89, were held at 11 a. m. Thursday, September 9, 2004 at First Baptist Church in Newellton, La. The Rev. Fulton McGraw, the Rev. Don Thornton and the Rev. Todd Sumrall officiated. Burial followed in Legion Cemetery in Newellton.

A native of Louisville and longtime resident of Newellton, Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Flowers Landing Baptist Church and a member of First Baptist Church of Newellton. Mrs. Cooper died Monday, September 6, 2004 at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah, La.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Jackson Cooper of Newellton; three daughters, Margaret Shirley Napoli and Mary June Turner, both of Monroe, La., and Marilyn Virginia "Snookie" Loftin of Delhi, La. ; one sister, Allie Dwight Tobia of Greenville; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Mrs. Cooper's grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist Church of Newellton.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 537, Newellton, LA 71357 or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Derrick Sentell Edwards

Funeral services for Mr. Derrick Sentell Edwards, 24, were held at 2 p. m. Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. The Rev. Amos Hightower officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Louisville.

A native of Louisville, Mr. Edwards was a laborer. Mr. Edwards died Monday, September 6, 2004 at University Medical Center in Jackson.

Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Angie Edwards of Louisville; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Mae Edwards; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Rodgis Miller and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Terry Lee Upchurch, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Terry Lee Upchurch, Sr., 48, were held at 10 a. m. Friday, September 10, 2004 at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman. The Rev. Doug Wise and the Rev. Jerry Lawson officiated. Burial followed in Wood Springs Cemetery.

A native of Memphis, Tenn., and resident of Ackerman, Mr. Upchurch was a member of Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Upchurch died Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at North Mississippi Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Upchurch of Ackerman; two sons, Terry Lee Upchurch, Jr. of Ackerman and Thomas Jerrell Upchurch of Pontotoc; two daughters, Amanda Upchurch of Ackerman and Amber Nicole Kitchens of Denver, Colo. ; his father and stepmother, Calton and JoAnn Upchurch of Ackerman; one bother, Calton Eugene Upchurch of Southaven; one half-brother, Lee Upchurch of Starkville; one sister, Debra Perry of Walls; one half-sister, Michelle Robinson of Walls; two step sisters, Christa Childs of Starkville and Patricia Ming of Cookville, Tenn., and nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the family by mailing them to the Terry Upchurch Family, 197 N. Commerce St., Ackerman, MS 39735.

Mrs. Betty Ruth Catledge

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ruth Catledge, 61, were held at 10 a. m. Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Nowell-Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Dr. Don Boone officiated. Burial followed in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County.

A resident of Louisville, Mrs. Catledge was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Louisville. Mrs. Catledge died Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at her home in Louisville.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Catledge of Louisville; three daughters, Sarah Ruth Howard of McCool, Denise Dempsey of Louisville and Penny Piotrowski of Rockport, Ill. ; one son, Paul Catledge of Louisville; three brothers, Bobby Hancock of Memphis, Tenn., Otis Ray Hancock of Dell City, Okla., and Gene Hancock of Arizona and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chad Fulcher, Brad Hancock, Clint Howard, Ben Kirk, Kiley Kirk and Kelvin Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Catledge's brothers, Bobby Hancock, Gene Hancock and Otis Ray Hancock.

Mr. Floyd Donald Long

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Donald Long, 82, were held at 11 a. m. Monday, September 13, 2004 at Salem Independent Methodist Church in Ackerman. The Rev. Tim Long and the Rev. Jerry Linhares officiated. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery.

A native of Lake City, Mich., and resident of Ackerman, Mr. Long was a retired teacher. Mr. Long died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Survivors include one son, the Rev. Tim Long of Ackerman; two daughters, Carol Cristofalo of Malabar, Fla., and Ardith Anderson of West Palm Beach, Fla. ; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Clarice Lindsey

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Clarice Lindsey, 87, were held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Betheden Cemetery in Betheden. The Rev. Ned Post officiated.

A native of Winston County, Mrs. Lindsey was a homemaker. She was a member of Betheden Lutheran Church and the Betheden Homemakers Club. Mrs. Lindsey died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Winston Medical Center in Louisville.

Survivors include one daughter, Faye Jordan of Sturgis; one sister, Sonja Spencer of Pahrump, Nev. ; one half-sister, Jimmie Ruth Edwards of Louisville; two half-brothers, Billy Rives of Starkville and Robert Rives of Ackerman; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Betheden Lutheran Church.

Mr. Cleveland Wade Watts

Funeral services for Mr. Cleveland Wade Watts, 70, were held at 2 p. m. Monday, September 13, 2004 at Rural Hill United Methodist Church in Winston County. The Rev. Charles Maples and the Rev. Grady Woods officiated. Burial followed in Rural Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

A native of Winston County, Mr. Watts was a retired sheetrock finisher. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Watts died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Monfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nelda Williamson Watts; two daughters, Melissa Reed of Noxapater and Maryetta McCully of Louisville; one son, Johnny Watts of McCool; two sisters, Clyde Dean Collins of Louisville and Dorcey Lawrence of Zama; three brothers, Allen Watts and Jimmy Ted Watts, both of Louisville, and Hayward Watts of McCool; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., or Palmer Home for Children in Columbus.

Eddie Cummings Thompson

Mrs. Eddie Cummings Thompson, age 88, of Eupora, died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church at Eupora. She was preceded in death by her husband James Woodrow Thompson.

Services were held September 11, 2004 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Stewart, Rev. James Justice and interment in Clarkson Cemetery in Webster County.

Survivors include: daughter Linda T. Cooksey of Eupora; sons Doug Thompson of Gore Springs, Joe R. Thompson of Eupora; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Shane Stallings, Scott and Tyler Dalton, Beau Busby, Freddy McRory, Stephen and Stanley Thompson.

Mrs. Minnie M. Adams

Funeral Services for Mrs. Minnie M. Adams, 82, were held at 1 p. m. Monday June 14, 2010 at Blythe Creek Baptist Church near Mathiston, MS. Rev. Tim Hudson and Rev. Danny Irvin officiated. Burial followed at Blythe Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Tupelo, Mrs. Adams was a housewife. She was also a member of Blyth Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Adams died Friday June 11, 2010 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, MS.

Survivors include five grandchildren, eight grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made out to the Blythe Creek Baptist Church Organ Fund.
