BILLY DALE SHELTON, 67, of Walls, retired banker, died May 28 at his home. Services were held May 30 at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven with burial in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens. He was a member of Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, La. Mr. Shelton leaves his wife of 47 years, Trudy Shelton; a daughter, Shari Doles of Southaven; a son, Gregg Shelton of Horn Lake; a brother, Ernest Shelton of Los Angeles, and five grandchildren.

FLOYD GATLEY TYER, 90, of Southaven, formerly of Memphis, retired truck driver from Southwest Cotton Belt, died May 25 at Methodist Healthcare-South. Services were held May 28 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. He was a World War II veteran, an Army and Navy veteran and a Baptist. Mr. Tyer, the widower of Dorothy Tyer, leaves a stepdaughter, Faye Bowers of Germantown; a sister, Hester Williams of Millington, and a brother, John Sparks of Walls.

MARY A. VanDUSEN, 62, of Southaven, homemaker, died May 27 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Services were held May 30 at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery South. Mrs. VanDusen leaves her husband, James VanDusen; a daughter, Jimmie Renee VanDusen of Southaven; two sons, Randall James VanDusen of Southaven and Ronnie E. VanDusen of Nesbit, and a granddaughter. The family requests that memorials be sent to Memphis Union Mission.

GERALD ANDERSON JR., 48, of Hernando, district sales manager, died July 6 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Memorial services were held July 9 at Forest Hill Funeral Home South. He was a Civil War re-enactor and member of Hernando First Assembly of God. Mr. Anderson leaves his wife of 21 years, Crystal Ramsey Anderson; two sons, Justin Anderson of Hernando and Collin Anderson of Oxford; his mother, Sara Wells of Horn Lake; four sisters, Sherry Ferrell of New Milford, Conn., Julie Rinner of Bartlett, JoAnna Hardwick of Hernando and Debbie Anderson of Charlotte, N.C., and a brother, John Anderson of Walls. The family requests that memorials be sent to The West Clinic.

She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4935 and a Baptist. Mrs. Beaver, the widow of Bennie J. Beaver, leaves five daughters, Margaret Ann Betterton and Linda Gale Walston, both of Horn Lake, Sheila Christine Jaynes of Memphis, Dorothy Lavera Stewart of Southaven and Mary Catherine Gould of Hernando; three sons, Freddie Eugene Beaver, Bennie Joe Beaver Jr., and Robert Claude Beaver, all of Horn Lake, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

JOE H. BISHOP, 87, of Bartlett, retired mold technician for Firestone after 35 years, died July 8 at his home. Services were held July 11 at Munford (Tenn.) Funeral Home with burial in Helen Crigger Cemetery. He was a member of Northview Baptist Church. He leaves three daughters, Trilby Johnson of Bartlett, Robbie Sue Strauser of Memphis and Joan Henson of Eads; a son, Jay Bishop of Olive Branch; two sisters, Lucy White of Springfield, Mo., and Dorothy Koonce of Ripley, Tenn., 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

PAUL JOSEPH CETTO JR., 50, of Olive Branch, home builder contractor for Cetto Custom Homes, died July 8 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Memorial services were held July 11 at Maples Memorial United Methodist Church in Olive Branch, where was a member. Memorial Park Funeral Home had charge. Mr. Cetto leaves his wife of 18 years, Ruth Ellen Cetto; a daughter, Anne Cetto and a son, John Cetto, both of Olive Branch, and his father, Paul J. Cetto and a sister, Margaret Cetto, both of Phoenix. The family requests that memorials be sent to Maples Memorial United Methodist Church or DeSoto Central School Library.

ROBERT T. ‘BIG BOB’ DANIELS, 43, of Byhalia, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, self-employed contractor, died July 4 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Mr. Daniels leaves his wife, Sandra Daniels; a stepdaughter, Gena Diaz of Memphis; two stepsons, Scott Hooser of Cleveland and David Hooser of Lakewood, Ohio; three sisters, Priscilla Day-Reel of Ashland, Ohio, Veronica Taylor of Dallas and Rhoda Cremeans of Southaven; a brother, Rick Goff of Memphis, and seven grandchildren.

TERRY WADE EAKIN, 87, of Somerville, Tenn., formerly of Memphis, retired major from the Army after 23 years, retired Postal Service worker and former employee of American Mutual Liability Insurance Co., died July 2 at Saint Francis Hospital. Services were held July 6 at Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home in Somerville with burial in Somerville City Cemetery. He was a member of Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church in Bartlett, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5013, Retired Officers Association, Disabled American Veterans and National Association of Uniform Services, and recipient of numerous commendations including National Defense Service, United Nations Service and Bronze Star medals, and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. Mr. Eakin, the widower of Frances Estelle Wynne Eakin, leaves a daughter, Edna E. Downs of Byhalia; two sons, Terry Wade Eakin Jr. of Eads and John K. Eakin of Lancaster, Calif.; three sisters, Margie Clements of Los Angeles, Anna Sessum of Somerset, Ohio, and Doris Gurney of Belleair, Fla., four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5013.

Mr. Entrikin leaves his wife, Bobbie Entrikin; three daughters, Janet Raper of Tupelo, Laurie Teal of Atoka, and Cheryl Tevlin of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a son, Ronald Entrikin of Bartlett, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Fanning leaves his wife of 69 years, Juanita Fanning; three daughters, Magdlene Morente of Jacksonville, Fla., Doris McCullar of Horn Lake and Gloria Stage of Southaven; a son, Mabrone Fanning of Senatobia, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to American Cancer Society.

Griggs Jr. of Huntsville, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Betsy Torres of Atlanta; a stepson, Daniel Rosser of Tuscumbia, Ala.; a sister, Shirley Parker of Bartlett; a brother, Michael Griggs of Ripley, Tenn., and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Klein, the widow of Edward George Klein, leaves five daughters, Kitty Acuff of Memphis, Janet Hiegel of Conway, Ark., Theresa Grey of Horn Lake, Dinah Farrell of Olive Branch and Evelyn Jeannie Nester of Southaven; three sons, Edward Buddy Klein of Jackson, Danny Klein of Horn Lake and John Klein of Orlando; two sisters, Bertha Herrington and Margie Lacomb, and two brothers, Tony Watts and Haywood Watts, all of Memphis, 36 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Sacred Heart School in Southaven.
