Mr. Henry Frank Baxter

Friday, July, 9, 2004

Funeral services for Mr. Henry Frank Baxter, 83, were held at 2:00 p. m. on July 11, 2004, at the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel in Ackerman, MS. Rev. James Burrell officiated. Burial followed at Concord Cemetery.

A native of Ackerman, MS, Mr. Baxter was a retired logger and sawyer. He was a veteran of World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Mr. Baxter died on Friday, July 9, 2004 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS.

Survivors include his two sons, Roy Baxter and Bobby Baxter of Ackerman, MS; his daughter, Betty Carr of Starkville, MS; his sister, Addie Vance of Houston, MS; his brother, Parnell Baxter of Sturgis, MS; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Coleman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Irene "Johnnie" Hopkins

Friday, July 9, 2004

Funeral services for Mrs. Irene "Johnnie" Hopkins, 85, will be held at 3:00 p. m. on Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Berea Baptist Church. Burial followed at Berea Cemetery.

A resident of McCool, MS, Mrs. Hopkins was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and the Berea Sunshine Club. Mrs. Hopkins died on July 9, 2004, at the Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her four sons, Barry Hopkins of Lubbock, TX, Charlie E. Hopkins of McCool, MS, Kenny Hopkins of Ponchatoula, LA, and Ronnie Hopkins of Hernando, MS; her daughter, Pamela Hopkins of Tucson, AZ; her two sisters, Tommie Blaine of Ridgeland, MS, and Leah Ford of Kosciusko, MS; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William C. McKibben

Mr. William C. McKibben, age 26, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, died May 28, 2004 following an auto accident.

He is survived by his mother, Jeannette McKibben of Gaithersburg, Maryland; one sister, Cissy Landrum of Ackerman, two brothers, Sam McKibben of Ackerman, Sullivan and Deborah McKibben of Eupora and sister-in-law Margie McKibben (widow of J. R. Jr. ); two nephews; three nieces; four uncles and aunts, James and Mildred Vaughn of Woodland, MS, James and Loretta Norris of Scottsboro, AL, Margie Ricks of Boyle, MS and Shirley Buckner of Eupora; his fiancée Patricia McVay of Gaithersburg, MD; many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his oldest brother J. R. McKibben, Jr. and his father, Jurney R. McKibben, Sr.

Services were held June 11, 2004 in Rockville, MD.

In loving memory of their beloved brother a Memorial Service will be held by his sister and brothers Sunday, July 18, 2004 from 2 p. m. to 4 p. m. at Mt. Nebo Methodist Church for relatives and friends to attend.

Mr. Robert D. "RT" Baldwin

Funeral services for Mr. Robert D. "RT" Baldwin, 64, were held at 2 p. m. Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Weir Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Willie Garth officiated.

A native of McCool, Mr. Baldwin worked for more than 40 years at College Park Paving in Maryland. Mr. Baldwin died Thursday, August 12, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Jewel Baldwin; two daughters, Mary Miller and Colette Baldwin; his mother, Nettie Lou Baldwin; one sister, Molly Mae Miller; four brothers, Otis Baldwin, Henry Baldwin, Ronald Baldwin and David Ashford, and four grandchildren.

Hampton Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Roger Lushion Triplett

Funeral services for Mr. Roger Lushion Triplett, 62, were held at 2 p. m. Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Winston County. The Rev. Donald Bryant officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Winston County, Mr. Triplett was a truck driver. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Triplett died Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Winston Medical Center in Louisville.

Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Cooper and Daphne Triplett, both of Louisville, Cindy Clemons of Macon and Carolyn Triplett of South Carolina; two sons, Lushion Triplett of Preston and Timothy Triplett of Gulfport; his mother, Addie Mae Hill of Louisville; one sister, Katie Griffin of Louisville; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Williams and Herring Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Beatrice Lee

Sunday, August 15, 2004

Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice Lee, 86, were held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at John. E. Stephens Chapel in Louisville. The Rev. John Stephens officiated. Burial followed in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Neshoba County.

A resident of Philadelphia, Mrs. Lee was a retired seamstress for Wells Lamont Corporation. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Lee died Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Neshoba County Nursing Home.

Survivors include he husband, Earl Lee of Philadelphia; one daughter, Paula Norris of Cleveland; two sisters, Lois Barnes of Louisville and Cecil Jenkins of Ridgeland; one brother, Marvin Cole of Louisville, and two grandsons.

Pallbearers were Mitchell Barrier, Burdette Stephens, Curtis Williamson, Edward Triplett, Mike Mitchell and Stevie Triplett.

John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gracie Irene Allen

Monday, August 16, 2004

Funeral services for Mrs. Gracie Irene Allen, 97, were held at 10 a. m. Thursday, August 19 at First Baptist Church in Louisville. Dr. Don Boone officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Louisville.

A native of Kiln, Mrs. Allen was a retired high school teacher and owner of Western Auto. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Eastern Star, the Town and Country Garden Club and Business and Professional Women. She was a Sunday school teacher for 55 years. Mrs. Allen died Monday, August 16, 2004 at Winston Medical Center in Louisville.

Survivors include one daughter, Amy Land of Louisville; two sons, Jerry Allen of Scottsdale, Ariz., and John Allen of Jackson; one sister, Vivian Buchanan of Lexington, Va. ; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Mrs. Virdie "Bell" Gillespie

Mrs. Virdie "Bell" Gillespie, 84, died Monday, August 16, 2004. She was a native of De Kalb.

Survivors include one son, Winford Gillespie of De Kalb; on brother, Israel "Jack" Welch of De Kalb; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mr. Paul R. Groceman

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Paul R. Groceman, 77, were held at 11:30 a. m. Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Enon Cemetery in Ackerman. The Rev. Jerry Lawson officiated.

A native of Missouri and resident of Ackerman, Mr. Groceman was a self-employed tile setter. A Catholic, he was a veteran, having served with the merchant marines during World War II. Mr. Groceman died Monday, August 16, 2004 at North Mississippi Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Groceman of Ackerman; three sons, Lance Groceman of Reform, Ryan Groceman of Chesterton, Ind., and Ray Groceman of Sturgis; five daughters, Lynn Carr and Debbie Clark, both of Starkville, Dale Roark of Hendersonville, Tenn., Paula Billinger of Garden City, Mo., and Debbie Groceman of Independence, Mo. ; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Mr. Robert Earl Parker

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Earl Parker, 65, were held at 4 p. m. Friday, August 20, 2004 at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel in Philadelphia. The Rev. Franklin Smith officiated. Burial followed in Indian Springs Cemetery in Winston County.

A native of Noxapater and resident of Carthage, Mr. Parker was a truck driver owner and operator. He was an ordained minister and a member of Lake View Baptist Church. Mr. Parker was a veteran of he United States Army. Mr. Parker died Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Hospice Ministries, Inc. in Ridgeland.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Parker of Carthage; three daughters, Rosemary E. McGaughrin and Allison D. Clark, both of Richland, and Shelley A. Daniels of Hattiesburg; one son, Robert G. Parker of Mobile Ala. ; two stepdaughters, Rachelle Parker of Mobile, Ala., and Melody Surber of Edinburg; one stepson, Spencer Fredrick of Carthage; his mother, Gladys Robbins of Philadelphia; four sisters, Sandra Leach and Teresa Thrasher, both of Jackson, Hazel Collins of Noxapater and Brenda Gentry of Carrollton, Ala. ; two brothers, Dave Parker of Noxapater and Keith Parker of Philadelphia, and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Steve Clark, Anthony Leach, Jason Gentry, Steve Parker, Wade Collins and Larry Boatner.

McClain-Hays Funeral Home of Philadelphia was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Earl Dee Graham

Funeral services for Mr. Earl Dee Graham, 59, were held at 11 a. m. Saturday, November 27, 2004 at Little Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. The Rev. Lynn Cummings officiated. Burial followed in Little Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mr. Graham was a laborer with Taylor Machine Works. He was a member of Little Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Graham died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Graham of Louisville; three sons, Walter Graham of Shuqualak, Stephavon Graham of Mt. Home, Ind., and Kenneth Graham of Atlanta, Ga. ; one sister, Nather Lee Roby of Milwaukee, Wisc., and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were David Coleman, Vincent Carter, Paul Carter, Larando Metts, Rodney Cistrunk and Anthony Jenkins.

Mr. Andrada "Harry" Cunningham

Funeral services for Mr. Andrada "Harry" Cunningham, 48, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Louisville. Burial followed in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

A resident of Louisville, Mr. Cunningham was a veteran. He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. Mr. Cunningham died Monday, November 22, 2004.

Survivors include one son, Jeremy Coleman of Omaha, Neb. ; his mother, Arthusia Cunningham; three sisters, Evelyn Thigpen of Holly Springs, Arlexis Yarbrough of Raleigh and Janice Bridges of Prentiss and three brothers, Cortez Cunningham of Memphis, Tenn., Carter Cunningham of Louisville and Anthony Cunningham of Philadelphia.

Mr. James B. Belk Jr.

Wednesday, November 24, 2004

Graveside funeral services for Mr. James B. Belk Jr., 57, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Tabernacle Methodist Cemetery in Ethel. Jim Ballard officiated.

A native of Attala County and resident of Bastrop, La., Mr. Belk was disabled. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Belk died Wednesday, November 24, 2004 in West Monroe, La.

Survivors include one brother, Morris Belk of McCool.

Memorials may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, care of Johnny Belk, 7409 Attala Road 5053, Ethel, MS 39067.
