Mr. John Wesley Holt

Funeral services for Mr. John Wesley Holt, 69, were held at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at John E. Stephens Chapel in Philadelphia. Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Stephenstown Community.
A resident of Philadelphia, Mr. Holt was retired after 25 years of service with General Motors at Pontiac Michigan. Mr. Holt died Friday, November 10, 2006, at his residence.
Survivors include his former wife, Jan White of Union; son, Josh Holt of Philadelphia; step-daughter, Lisa Eisinger of Mayville, MI; sister, Norma Haley of Pearland, TX; brother, Charles Holt of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jean Miller Landers

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Miller Landers, 62, were held at 2:00 p. m. Monday, November 13, 2006, at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville. Rev. Charles Moody officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.
A native of Winston County, Mrs. Landers taught sixth grade math for 30 years and after retiring taught local GED classes through ECCC. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Landers died Saturday, November 11, 2006, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Landers of Louisville; one son, Patrick Landers of Louisville; two sisters, Glenda Taylor of Brooksville, MS, and Maggie Ladner of Baton Rouge, LA; and one brother, T. J. Miller of Sturgis.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Village.

Mr. James Clyde Hamm
Mr. James Clyde Hamm, 80, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Funeral services were held at 10 A. M. Saturday, June 19, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Simmons officiating. Interment was in Forest Hill East Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
Mr. Hamm was born May 25, 1930, in Louisville, MS. He retired in 1996 after many years as a supervisor for Quaker Oat Chemical Co. in Memphis, TN, and moved back to Louisville, MS He was an Army veteran and a faithful member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Johnson Hamm of Louisville; a sister, Diane H. Christiansen of Bartlett, TN; and 10 nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Murphy Creek Baptist Church, 5379 Bond Road, Louisville, MS, 39339; or the charity of your choice.
Mr. George Marion “Mate” Jernigan
Funeral services for Mr. George Marion “Mate” Jernigan, 82, were held Tuesday June 22, 2010 at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel in Macon, MS Burial followed at Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon, MS Officiating minister’s were Bro. Sean Greer and Bro. Glen Miller
A native of Mashulaville Mr. Jernigan was born November 5, 1927 and died June 19, 2010 at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Kathleen Kitchens Jernigan of Mashulaville; two daughters, Shirley Spell of Macon and Carolyn Thomas of Shuqulak; one son, Edward Robbins III of Macon, MS; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mr. Jernigan was a member of Mashulaville Community Church. He was a retail parts manager for John Deere Equipment Co. for over 40 years Mr. Mate was a native and lifetime resident of the Mashulaville community near Macon, MS and graduated from the Noxubee Agricultural High School. He was a member of the Macon Lodge No. 40F&AM and of the Hamasa Temple in Meridian, MS He enjoyed cattle farming and gardening.

Mr. Jessie Franklin Swindle
Funeral services for Mr. Jessie Franklin Swindle, 83, were held Tuesday June 22, 2010 at Hight Assembly of God, Noxapater, MS. Burial followed in church cemetery. Officiating ministers were Revs. Toby Halfacre, Chance Mays and Greg Thomas
A native of Winston County, Mr. Swindle passed away Sunday June 20, 2010 at Regency Hospital
Mr. Swindle was a member of Hight Assembly of God and a deacon. His hobbies were cows, gardening, and doing things with his children and grandchildren. He was also a U. S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Swindle of Noxapater MS for 64 years; two daughters, Elsie Bishop and Faye Ellis of Noxapater, MS ; two sons Wayne Swindle and John Swindle both of Noxapater, MS; one sister, Nannie Lou Kelley; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers were Jay Swindle. Wade Swindle, Kevin Ellis, Bruce Ellis, Brad Nagel, Steve Hammack, Jason Swindle, Josh Swindle, Michael Monk, Austin Swindle, and Dylan Earnest

Mr. Mason Tyler Moore, Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Mason Tyler Moore, Sr., 88 were held Tuesday June 22, 2010 at John E. Stephens Chapel in Philadelphia, MS. Burial followed in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Philadelphia. Officiating minister was John Stephens.
A native of Neshoba County, Mr. Moore was born August 17, 1921 passed away Saturday June 19, 2010 at Monfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko, MS
He is survived by one daughter Martha Jane Moore Grubbs ; one son Mason Tyler Moore; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, one brother, Windell Hoyt Moore of Cedar Grove, North Carolina, three sisters Opal Moore Mitchell of Meridian, Masie Illa Moore Winstead of Gulfport and Mazine Moore Winstead of Philadelphia
Mr. Moore was a member of Ebenzer Primitive Baptist Church in Leake County. He served in the U. S. Army in England and France during World War II and also was recalled and served in the United States during the Korean conflict. Mr. Moore joined the US National Guard after being discharged from active duty. He was retired self-employed body shop owner.
Pallbearers were Keith Lillis, Bo Joiner, Alvis Joiner, Jeff Trapp, Greg Thompson and Larry Lillis

A native of Winston County, Mr. Worthy was born September 3, 1963 passed away Friday June 11, 2010 at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS
She is survived by a step mother, Kelly Worthy and three brothers, James Worthy of Louisville; Sullivan Worthy of Moss Point and Charlie Worthy of Hattiesburg, MS; paternal grandmother, Nellie Worthy and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Worthy was a member of Horizon International Church in Jackson, MS . She was a Nurse’s Assistance at Plaza Nursing Home

Mr. Thomas Burrell, Jr.
Mr. Thomas “Bud” Burrell, Jr., 87, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, at the Winston County Medical Center in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, June 23, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel in Kosciusko with burial to follow in Harmonia Cemetery in Attala County.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Burden Burrell of Sallis; daughter, Rita Burrell of Starkville; a granddaughter; brothers, Don Burrell, Ken Burrell both of Sallis; sisters, Cathleen Hendry of Rockville, IL, Nancy Mabry of Pickens; two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Neal
Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Neal, 77, died Monday, June 14th, 2010, at the Bee Hive Home in Louisville. Funeral services were held at 11 00 A. M. Wednesday, June 16th, 2010, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Haggard officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Neal was born May 21, 1933, in Louisville, MS. She was a retired medical secretary in Jackson for many years, before moving back to Louisville in 1996. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and also attended Campground United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Neal; two sisters, Doris Webb and Lady McMillin; and four brothers, Roy Humphries, Buster Humphries, Edward “Cap ” Humphries, and Fred Humphries.
She is survived by two brothers, Thad Humphries of West Helena, AR, and Bill Humphries of Brandon, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Hal Estes, Ronnie Mitchell, David Humphries, Charlie Wilkes, John Albert Young, and David Morgan.

Mrs. Jean Walter Mayo
Mrs. Jean Walter Mayo, 51, died Friday, June 18th, 2010, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A. M. Monday, June 21st, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Haggard and Rev. Franklin Smith officiating. Interment was in Liberty Cemetery.
Mrs. Mayo was born July 5, 1958, in Louisiana. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Ann Walters; a sister, Margaret Ann Raley; and a brother, Charles Lee Walters.
She is survived by her husband, Sheron Mayo; her two sons, Thomas Charles Broome of Destrehan, LA, Joel Ryan Armstrong of Louisville, and a daughter, Meranda Sheila Armstrong of Louisville; her father, Charles L. Walters of Louisville; her sister, Lynda Walters Mayo of Louisville; step-children, James D. Mayo, and Elizabeth eth Mayo; a granddaughter, Ella Elizabeth Broome; and nieces and nephews, Michael Lawson, Chad Raley, Maggie Morris, and Jeffrey Morris. Pallbearers were Jason Mayo, George Ellinburg, Wayne Mayo, Bruce Armstrong, Trent Boswell, and Troy Varnado.

Funeral services for Vincent C. Hudson, 61, were held at 2 p. m. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Louisville, MS. Rev. James Morris, Sr. officiated. Burial Followed at Memorial Garden cemetery in Louisville.
A native of Louisville, Hudson was a Laborer. He was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Hudson died June 22, 2010 at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS.
Survivors include sisters Dianne Johnson, Hilda Thomas, Audrey Juliet Hudson, brothers Hilute Hudson, Jr, and Osler M. Houston, Jr.

Funeral Services for Marvin Roach, 71, were held at 11 a. m. at Beck Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Rev. L. B. Hathorn officiated. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, OH. A native of Louisville, Roach was a laborer. Roach died June 24, 2010 at his home in Louisville. Survivors include daughters Sharon Roach, Tracey McNeal, Dawn Smith, brothers George Roach, Dean Roach, and Kenny Roach. He was also survived by 5 grandchildren.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Gathright was a homemaker. She was also a member of Pilgrim Rest M. B. Church. Mrs. Gathright died June 25, 2010 at Louisville Health Care Facility in Louisville.
Survivors include daughter Eloise Collins, Milton Stennis, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Lavelle Sherrod, 56, were held at 2 p. m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. Rev. James Headd officiated. Burial followed in the cemetery of Antioch M. B. Church in Louisville MS.
A native of Louisville, Mr. Sherrod was a laborer. He was also a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Sherrod died June 24, 2010 at North Ms Medial Center in Tupelo, MS. Survivors include wife Pearl Sherrod, sons Michael and Quincy Frazier, Courtney Frazier, brothers Irvin Sherrod and Melvin Sherrod and Kenneth Sherrod.
