Wells Funeral Home has charge. She leaves a daughter, Mary Pierce Kennedy of Batesville; a son, Roy John Pierce of Courtland, seven grandchildren, and several geat-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Coldwater -- Bettie Lou Green, 66, formerly of Independence and Hernando, homemaker, died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home in Hernando with burial in Walker cemetery in Water Valley. Mrs. Green, the widow of John Green, leaves two daughters, Bettie Mae McPherson of Jackson, Tenn., and Rebecca Duff of San Antonio; a son, Edward Lamar Stone Jr. of Bruce; a stepson, Dean Green of Walls, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Harmontown -- James K. 'Buddy' Pou, 81, formerly of Memphis, retired marble and tile setter, died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Funeral Home Midtown in Memphis with burial in Calvary there. He was a World War II Navy veteran and communicant of St. Johns Catholic Church in Sardis, Miss. Mr. Pou, the husband of Iva Marie Pou for 56 years, also leaves a daughter, Mickey Lou Pace, and a son, Kenny Pou, both of Olive Branch; a sister, Beatrice H. 'Sweetie' Hardy of Magnolia, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Oxford -- James Malcolm Burnett, 46, painter, died Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Tallahatchie-Oxford Missionary Baptist Association with burial in Buford Chapel cemetery. Hodges Funeral Home has charge. He leaves a daughter, Sharonn Burnett of Oxford; a son, Corey Burnett of Abbeville; his mother, Annie Buford; four sisters, Merlinda Burnett, Doris Jones, Shirley Burnett and Carolyn Buford, and three brothers, Lee Earnest Burnett, Chester Burnett and William Burnett, all of Oxford.

Southaven -- Raymond L. Mayo, 62, formerly of Batesville, truck driver for AAA Cooper Transportation of Memphis, died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with burial in Forrest Memorial Park there. He was an Air Force veteran and member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Olive Branch. Mr. Mayo, the husband of Margaret Bell Mayo, also leaves a daughter, Sheila Rhea Mayo Sherman of West Monroe, La.; two sons, Raymond Todd Mayo of Hernando and James Andrew Mayo of Olive Branch; a sister, Becky Mayo Wade of Columbia, Mo.; a brother, Gary Mayo of Collierville, Tenn., and four grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Eureka Methodist Church in Courtland or New Prospect Baptist Church.

Coldwater -- Marion M. Middleton, 70, retired farmer, died Tuesday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia with burial in Bett cemetery. He was a member of Bett Baptist Church. He leaves a daughter, Patsy Middleton of Coldwater; two sons, Billy Middleton of Henning, Tenn., and Jimmy Wayne Middleton of Coldwater; four sisters, Jo Ann Douglas of Wyatte, Addie Mae May of Senatobia, Bennie Ruth Tedford of Coldwater and Hazel Kicker of Hernando; four brothers, James Wesley Middleton of Byhalia, and Willie Eugene Middleton, Willie Pyle Middleton and William N. Middleton, all of Coldwater; a half-brother, Albert Baldwin of Coldwater, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
