Corinth -- William Orien Bonds, 89, retired welder, died Monday at his home. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at McPeters Funeral Home with burial in Forrest Memorial Park cemetery. He was a member of Corinth First Baptist Church. Mr. Bonds, the husband of Oleta T. Bonds, also leaves a daughter, Carolyn Johnson of La Crosse, Wis.; four sisters, Geneva Woodruff of Iuka, Reba Day of Baton Rouge, La., and Helen O'Brian and Lonetta Allen, both of Corinth; three brothers, Blondell B. Bonds of Baton Rouge, Leroy Bonds of Corinth and Charles F. Bonds of Ashland, Ore., and two grandchildren.

Corinth -- Ralph Harold Gardner, 73, retired carpenter, died Monday at Mississippi Care Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McPeters Funeral Home with burial in Shiloh Baptist cemetery. He leaves three daughters, Sharon Fryar of Blue Mountain, Deborah Widner of Blytheville, Ark., and Kim Rocker of Des Moines, Iowa; four sisters, Pauline Dillinger, Alene Newcomb and Lucille Woodall, all of Corinth, and Rita Brueck of Cordova; two brothers, Keith Gardner and Haryse Gardner, both of Corinth, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Corinth -- Paul R. Scruggs, 57, reserve deputy and retired emergency medical technician for Magnolia Regional Health Center, died there Tuesday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home has charge. Mr. Scruggs, the husband of Lucy Allen Scruggs, also leaves a sister, Mary Russell of Booneville, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Holly Springs -- Joseph Johnny Cassatta, 65, owner/operator of WKRA Radio Station, died Monday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holly Springs Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest cemetery. He was a Catholic, a member of The Son's of Italy and a former member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club and Jaycee's. Mr. Cassatta, the husband of Nell Cassatta, also leaves two daughters, Angela Scott of Somerville, Tenn., and Francis Blessike of Holly Springs; two sons, Joe Cassatta of West Point and Johnny Cassatta of Carrollton; his mother, Lucy Deaton Cassatta of Holly Springs, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He leaves a son, Carlos Rashawn Cowan of Memphis; his parents, Bessie V. and Cliff Cowan Jr. of Holly Springs; six sisters, Betty Cowan, Patricia Harris, Linda Cowan and Joyce Thomas, all of Holly Springs, Sandra Dawkins of Waterford and Dorothy Oliver of Memphis, and four brothers, Cliff Cowan III and Michael Cowan, both of Holly Springs, Roger Cowan of Norfolk, Va., and Jackie Cowan of Memphis.

Mr. Allred, the widower of Vadis Blount Allred, leaves five daughters, Barbara Nell Allred Potts of Batesville, Peggy Allred Barber of Senatobia, Patsy Allred Turner and Judy Allred Parker, both of Leland, and Denise Allred Glover of Red Bay, Ala.; four sons, Caris Allred of Tupelo, Troy Allred of Sardis, Ronnie Allred of Jonesboro, Ark., and Mickey Allred of Southaven, 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
