She was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. Mrs. Childers, the widow of Earl Childers, leaves eight daughters, Molly Cranston of Marne, Iowa, Martha Vanzant of Memphis, Sandy Brown of Germantown, Debbie Crist of Mandeville, La., Earlene Reed and Neva Sing, both of Hickory Flat, and Jane Goode and Jo Simpson, both of New Albany; three sons, Tommy Childers of Potts Camp, and Don Childers and Jerry Childers of Hickory Flat; three sisters, Mary Lois Gurley of Potts Camp, Hazel Ferrell of Memphis and Sue Seitz of Osceola, Ark.; two brothers, Lynn Nelson of Olive Branch and John Nelson of Byhalia, three grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Olive Branch -- James W. House, 61, formerly of Memphis, retired from Tennessee National Guard and BellSouth marketing executive, died Sunday at his home. Services will be at noon Tuesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis with burial in Memorial Park. He was a graduate of South Side High School, a Baptist and member of Olive Branch Country Club. Mr. House, the husband of Libby House, also leaves a daughter, Jamie Riley of Nashville; a son, Chuck House of Memphis; two sisters, Rita Baggett of Olive Branch and Patty Puckett of Arlington; two brothers, Frank House Jr. of Somerville and Milton House of Winchester, Va., and two grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

Oxford -- Viola Downs Smith, 84, homemaker, died Sunday at Graceland Care Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Waller Funeral Home with burial in Abbeville cemetery. She was a member of Abbeville Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was the widow of Jesse Smith. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Abbeville Baptist Church Building Fund.

Red Banks -- Alma Ford Norfleet, 94, retired cook for H.W. Byers School in Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope CME Church, where she was a church stewardess, with burial in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum & Son Funeral Home in Holly Springs has charge. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Norfleet, the widow of Hosie Norfleet, leaves four daughters, Earlie Mapp of Detroit, Ruth E. Betts of Red Banks, and Lottie Stephens and Ida L. Wells, both of Memphis; four sons, Roosevelt Norflett of Red Banks, Edison Norfleet of Memphis, and Clarence Norfleet and Orlando Norfleet, both of Detroit; a brother, R.W. Ford of Osceola, Ark., 44 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Sardis -- Mario 'Sam' Tamboli, 82, electrician, died Saturday at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Batesville, where he was a communicant, with graveside services at 3 p.m. at Memory Hill Gardens in Memphis. Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville has charge. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Tamboli, the husband of Rose Catherine Rasbach Tamboli, also leaves a daughter, Maria Windham of Sardia; four sons, Robert Tamboli of Clearwater, Fla., William Tamboli of Macon, Ga., and Patrick Tamboli and Roy Tamboli, both of Memphis; four sisters, Mary Pittman of North Carolina, Josie Smith of Fresno, Calif., and Lillian Baron and Julia Liberto, both of Memphis; three brothers, Robert Tamboli of Enid, and Joe Tamboli and Frank Tamboli, both of Memphis, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Alzheimer's Association or St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Walnut -- Mary Edna Flake, 61, retired from Reeds pants factory, died Saturday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Community Pentecostal Church, where she was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home in Corinth has charge. She leaves a daughter, Shelly Ross; a son, Daven Flake, and two sisters, Ruby Smith and Dianne Flake, all of Walnut; a brother, Hubert Colvin of Water Valley, and six grandchildren.

Cayce -- Harry C. Vaughn, 70, truck driver, died Sunday in Memphis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Collierville Funeral Home with burial in Magnolia cemetery. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Vaughn, the husband of Betty Vaughn, also leaves six daughters, Wanda Paty of Dickson, Tenn., Barbara Vaughn of Centerville, Tenn., Paula Vopp of Memphis, and Donna Wylie, Penny Vaughn and Angela Garcia, all of Byhalia; a son, Harry C. She was a member of Hernando Methodist Church, Mrs. Carey, the widow of John W. Carey, leaves a daughter, Margaret Dennen of Senatobia, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
