Brantley Funeral Home has charge. He leaves his mother, Mary C. Pilgrim of Olive Branch; his father, Toby Pilgrim of St. Louis; a brother, Jay Pilgrim of Olive Branch, and his grandparents, Freda N. Cooley of Picayune, Jo Ellen and Lee Hovis of Sullivan, Mo., and Marvin and Diana Pilgrim of Bluffton, S.C. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Maples Memorial Methodist Church.

Ripley -- J.D. 'Jack' Ketchum Jr., 82, retired from Genesco Manufacturing Co., died Tuesday at his home. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at McBride Funeral Home with burial in Tippah Memorial Gardens. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Disabled American Veterans and Ripley Church of Christ. Mr. Ketchum, the husband of Gertie Holley Ketchum, also leaves a daughter, Linda Harrison, and a son, Danny Ketchum, both of Ripley; a sister, Willard Avery of Bartlett, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society Ripley Chapter.

Waterford -- Sally Smith McClure, 92, of Delaware, Ohio, formerly of Waterford, office manager for Holiday Inn, died Sunday in Delaware. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Waterford United Methodist Church with burial in Waterford cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge. She was a Baptist. Mrs. McClure, the wife of Walter McClure, also leaves a daughter, Kay Kwok, and a sister, Frances McGarah, both of Delaware; two brothers, Hardin Smith and Albert Smith, both of Memphis, and two grandchildren.

Falkner -- John W. Smith, 97, retired farmer and cook, died Wednesday at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Ripley Funeral Home with burial in Chapman cemetery in Ripley. He was a member of Chapman Church of Christ. Mr. Smith, the husband of Lillie Mae Hurt Smith, also leaves a son, A.D. Smith of Shafter, Calif., three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ms. McDowell, the husband of Willie B. McDowell, also leaves a daughter, Faye Kelly of Memphis; two sons, Frankie McDowell Jr. of Memphis and Clayborne A. Mr. Bridgeforth, the husband of Barbara Renae Jones Bridgeforth, also leaves three daughters, Rhyan Monique Bridgeforth, Mya Bridgeforth and Courtney Porter; a son, Dean Edward Bridgeforth III, and his father, Dean E. He was an Army veteran, a Baptist, a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and former president of Clarksdale Civitan Club. Mr. Burnette, the husband of Ann Burnette, also leaves a daughter, Diane Kenna of Kodak, Tenn.; three sons, Ben D. Burnette of Fayetteville, Ark., Richie Burnette of Hernando and Max C.
