Ripley -- J.D. 'Jack' Ketchum Jr., 82, retired from Genesco Manufacturing Co., died Tuesday at his home. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at McBride Funeral Home with burial in Tippah Memorial Gardens. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Disabled American Veterans and Ripley Church of Christ. Mr. Ketchum, the husband of Gertie Holley Ketchum, also leaves a daughter, Linda Harrison, and a son, Danny Ketchum, both of Ripley; a sister, Willard Avery of Bartlett, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Falkner -- John W. Smith, 97, retired farmer and cook, died Wednesday at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley.
