Mr. Kenneth Franklin

July 17, 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Franklin, 80, were held at Saturday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Wise Funeral Home in Eupora. Rev. Terry Wills officiated. Burial followed in LaGrange Methodist Church cemetery.

A native of Eupora, Mr. Franklin was retired from Natchez Trace Electric Power Association. He was also a member of Union Baptist Church. Mr. Franklin died July 17, 2010.

Survivors include Lori J. Meads-Lipford, Tina McLendon, Martha Massy and June Faye Burton. He also had three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, PO box 746, Columbus, MS 39703-0746. Wise Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Paul Johnson

July 15, 2010

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Johnson, 78, were held July 17, at 11 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church.

Bro. Derrick Wilson and Bro. Mike Stowell officiated.

Burial followed in Spring Valley Baptist Church cemetery in Mathiston.

A resident of Matiston, Mr. Johnson was a logger.

He was also a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

Mr Johnson died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at his residence in Mathiston.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Kelly Johnson, his daughter Betty Jane Mann, his two sons Travis Eugene Johnson, and Rickey Dale Johnson.

He is also survived by his two sisters, Lorene Andrews and Mavis Watts; his two brothers, J.M. Johnson and James K. Johnson; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rickey and Stacey Johnson, Keith Mann, Sammy Bowie, Richard Lucas and Mike Moore.

Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dovie Viola Pepper

July 19, 2010

Funeral services for Mrs. Dovie Viola Pepper, 93, were held at 1 p.m. on July 22, at Wise Chapel.

Bro. Ted Weeks officiated.

Burial followed in North Union cemetery.

A resident of Eupora, Mrs. Pepper was a homemaker.

Mrs. Pepper died Monday July 19, 2010 at Lakeland Nursing Home in Brandon, MS.

Survivors include Janice Franklin Hart, Linda Franklin Henson, and Paula Franklin Case.

She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Morse Downs, Steve Kornegay, Marvin Smith, Chris Henson, and Ron May.

Memorials may be made to North Union cemetery Fund.

Wise Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Martha Faye McKnight

July 12, 2010

Memorial services for Ms. Martha Faye McKnight, 56, were held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Bear Creek Baptist Church.

Rev. Doug Atkinson officiated.

A native of Weir, Ms. McKnight was a homemaker.

Ms. McKnight died July 12, 2010 in Kosciusko.

Survivors include her husband Dale McKnight, her son Roger Dale.

She is also survived by three brothers and six sisters.

Culpepper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ollie Mae Clark

September 29, 2010

Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Mae Clark, 90, were held at 11 am October 5, 2010 at New Zion M.B. Church. Reverend W.L. Hightower officiated. Burial followed at the church.

Mrs. Clark was a retired food service worker of Louisville Public Schools.

She was also a member of New Zion M.B. Church of Louisville. Mrs. Clark died September 29, 2010 at JR&S; Adult Care Center of Louisville.

Survivors include daughters Shirley Smith and Gail of Chicago, sister Mae Grosie Miller, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Williams, Herring & Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mavis Foster Hubble

October 6, 2010

Funeral services for Mrs. Mavis Foster Hubble, 69, were held at 1pm Friday, October 8, 2010 at the chapel of Curry Funeral Home. Brother Ronald Lovins and Brother John Morris officiated.

Mrs. Hubble was a member of The Sanctuary Church. She died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at her daughter’s residence in Dyersburg.

Survivors include daughters, Sharon Buffington and Kim Hampton, son Joy “Joe” Hubble II; brother Cleo (Joe) Foster, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Josh Buffington, Casey Kennedy, Brad Smith, William Fields, Robert Jones, and Jim Davis. Memorials may be made out to Dyersburg Community Cancer Fund. Curry Funeral Home was on charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Emily Pearl Burkes Jenkins

October 5, 2010

Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Pearl Burkes Jenkins, 80, will be held 2 pm Thursday, October 7, 2010 at John E. Stephens Chapel in Philadelphia. Reverend Robert Garcia and Reverend Earl Ferguson officiated. Burial followed in Golden Grove cemetery in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker. She was also a member of Cherry Chapel United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Jenkins died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS.

Survivors include daughter, Katie Ellen McDowell; son, Willie Carl Jenkins; sisters, Dorothy Barrier and Ramona Cumberland; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Steve Shelton, Steve Page, Austin Boswell, Will Page, Albert Jenkins, Coy Lee Bozeman, and Howard Ferguson. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dorothy Miles

Mrs. Dorothy E. Miles, 89, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville. Visitation was at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville on Saturday, October 9, 2010, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Funeral services were held at 2p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness with Bro. Herbert Woods and Bro. Eric Moore officiated. Interment followed in Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. Miles was a housewife and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

She is survived by four sons, Silas Wesley Miles of Brandon, Mississippi, Sammy Joe Miles of Louisville, Mississippi, Steven Anthony Miles of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and Stanley Ray Miles of Meridian, Mississippi; two sisters, Audrey Mae Woods of Las Vegas, Nevada and Marjorie Ruth Crow of Arkansas; one brother, W. J. Edwards, Jr. of Texas; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Annie Charlton McKinley

Mrs. Annie Charlton McKinley, 89, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at her home in Louisville. Funeral Services were held at 2 P.M. Thursday, October 7, at Porter Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Joe Butler and Rev. Mason Joy officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. McKinley was born icon December 10, 1920, in Noxubee County, MS. She was a retired seamstress at a garment factory and a member of East Louisville Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Leslie Charlton of Louisville, and Hunter Charlton of Louisville, three daughters, Maxine Palmer of Clarksdale, MS, Evelyn Slough of Madison, MS, and Carol Shoup of Batesville, AR, and one sister, Ethel Beasley of Warren, MI; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ray Palmer, Les Charlton, Patrick Charlton, Bradley Sinclair, David Dixon, Will Dixon, and John Dixon.

Memorials may be made to East Louisville Baptist Church, 610 E. Main St, Louisville, MS 39339.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Mae Clark, 90, were held at 11 am October 5, 2010 at New Zion M.B. Church. Reverend W.L. Hightower officiated. Burial followed at the church.

Mrs. Clark was a retired food service worker of Louisville Public Schools. She was also a member of New Zion M.B. Church of Louisville. Mrs. Clark died September 29, 2010 at JR&S; Adult Care Center of Louisville.
