GREER, KATHERINE OWENS, 84, homemaker, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services were held Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Cockrum United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch has charge. Mrs. Greer, the wife of Elmer C. Greer, also leaves two daughters, Katherine Ruth Robertson and Sherra Lee Neal, and two sons, Elmer Dee Greer and Laverne Greer, all of Independence, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jones
JONES, CYNTHIA COKER, 48, business owner and former hair stylist, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at her home. Services were held Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Brantley Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park in Memphis. She was a member of Whitehaven Baptist Church, a graduate of Whitehaven High School and attended Northwest Mississippi Community College. Mrs. Jones, the wife of Kenneth Jones, also leaves two daughters, Melissa Harper Davis of Bartlett and Amanda Harper Pierce of Olive Branch; a son, Joel Harper of Southaven; her parents, Arlene and J.E. Coker of Olive Branch; a sister, Rebecca Coker Tate of Germantown; a brother, Coleman Coker of Memphis, and two grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Bancorp South William E. Brooks Fund.

Jones
JONES, DOROTHY VIRGINIA NEELY, 73, of Collierville, homemaker, died Friday, April 29, 2005, at her home. Services were held Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery South. She was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones, the wife of Harold Jones for 55 years, also leaves a daughter, Gail Frewin of Hickory Withe, Tenn.; two sons, Robert Jones of Southaven and Larry Jones of Collierville; two sisters, Ruby Donathan of Collierville, and Lula Worley of Barton, Miss.; two brothers, Jody Neely of Collierville and Marvin Neely of Olive Branch, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.

Kornersmann
KONERSMANN, RITA LOUISE, 82, homemaker, died Monday, April 25, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. Mass was held Friday, April 29, 2005, at St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was a communicant and choir member, with burial in All Saints Cemetery. Family Funeral Care has charge. Mrs. Konersmann, the wife of Frank Konersmann for 63 years, also leaves two daughters, Shirley Konersmann and Diane Porter, both of Southaven; two sons, David Konersmann of Tupelo and Ron Konersmann of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Jim Stone of Denver and Paul Stone of New Jersey, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Paul Catholic Church.

Laughter
LAUGHTER, MORRIS F., 63, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Trinity Missions Rehab and Healthcare in Holly Springs. Services were held Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Brantley Funeral Home, who had charge, with burial in Lebanon Cemetery. His parents, Jim and Lola Laughter, preceded him in death. He leaves his sister, Sarah Williams of Independence, his brother, James M. Laughter of Olive Branch, his two nephews, his niece, three great-neices, and one great-nephew.

Moore
MOORE, ROLLIN S. JR., 51, retired truck driver for P.C. White Trucking Co., died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. Services were held Monday, May 2, 2005, at Ridgeway Assembly of God. Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home of Hernando has charge. He was a Baptist. He leaves two daughters, Rebecca Babin of Tennessee and Stephanie Womble of Southaven; two sons, Rollin Moore III of Sardis and Rusty Moore of Senatobia; a sister, Barbara Anderson of Memphis; a brother, Bill Moore of Walls, and seven grandchildren.

Newborn
NEWBORN, SANDRA RUTH 'DUCK', 43, inventory auditor for Dana Clevite Distribution, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services were held Saturday, April 30, 2005, at New Haliburton Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Gillespie Funeral Home has charge. She leaves a son, Jalen K. Sessom of Olive Branch; her mother and stepfather, Ruby and Rev. Otis Bradley of Memphis; her father, Cornelius Brown of Olive Branch; two sisters, Shelia Alexander of Olive Branch and Hope Washington of Memphis; three brothers, Tony Alexander, Rev. Ronnie Alexander and Gary Alexander, all of Memphis, and a companion with whom she lived, Dennis Sessom.

Nichols
NICHOLS, FRANK T., 77, retired pump and tank mechanic for Gulf Oil Co. in Memphis after 30 years, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Services were held Friday, April 29, 2005, at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery South. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a Baptist. Mr. Nichols, the husband of Sue Nichols, also leaves three sons, Danny F. Nichols of Alaska, Jack M. Nichols of Hernando and Michael N. Nichols of Florida; two sisters, Glema Erwin of Nettleton and Macy Boozer of Picayune, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Parker
PARKER, OTTIS 'BILL', 71, retired minister and former machine operator for Holiday Containers in Memphis, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services were held Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Fairview Church of God in Cairo with burial in the church cemetery there. Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven has charge. He was a member of the Church of God. Mr. Parker, the husband of Vera Tucker Parker for 48 years, also leaves two sons, Billy Parker of Nashville and Jason Brant Parker of Horn Lake; four sisters, Betty Jo Harmon of Nettleton, Ruth Patterson of Saltillo, Peggy Ryan of Baldwyn and Ann Daniel of Belmont; a brother, Gordan Parker of Shannon, and two grandchildren.

PHILLIPS, RAY HENRY, 89, retired from Frisco Railroad, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis. Services were held Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, Ark., with burial in Potter Memorial Cemetery there. He was a World War II veteran and a Baptist. Mr. Phillips, the widower of Ann Phillips, leaves three daughters, Eunice Olaughlin and Betty Oakes, both of Woodland, Calif., and Mary Nell Denham of Horn Lake; a son, Donnie Phillips of Thayer, Mo.; three sisters, Dorothy Barnett of Boaz, Ala., Juanita Wenner of Lutz, Fla., and Ruth Garrison of Howell, Mich., 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. PURNELL, CHARLES HUNTER JR., 84, retired terminal manager for TOSCO, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at his home. Services were held Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery South. He was a World War II and Korean War Marine Corps veteran and a member of Minor Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Purnell, the widower of Virginia Jo Purnell, leaves a daughter, Vicki Suggs of Collierville; a son, Hunter L. Purnell of Hernando; a brother, Donald Purnell of Phoenix, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Rixie
RIXIE, CHRISTOPHER RAYMOND, 19, student at Tennessee Technology Center, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. Services were held Friday, April 29, 2005, at Longview Heights Baptist Church with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. He was a graduate of Olive Branch High School and a softball player for the Collierville Recreation League "Misfits." He leaves his mother and stepfather, Marcie and Chuck Moss of Byhalia; his father and stepmother, Jimmy and Elizabeth Rixie of Olive Branch; two stepsisters, Joanna Cohn of Crystal Springs and Jill Blakney of Hattiesburg; two stepbrothers, Lewis Stringfellow and Robert Stringfellow, both of Olive Branch; his grandparents, Estelle and Larry Russom of Memphis, and his fiancee, Jessica Walker of Byhalia. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Longview Heights Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

ROBERTS, DELFA FRANK LONG, 91, homemaker, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Graveside services were held Friday, April 29, 2005, at Ellistown Baptist Church Cemetery in Blue Springs. Brantley Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and a former member of Calvary Baptist in Olive Branch and Central Baptist in Memphis. Mrs. Roberts, the widow of Grady T. Roberts, leaves a daughter, Mary Roberts Jones, and a son, Grady Frank Roberts, both of Memphis, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Gideons International.

SMITH, LOLA, 74, died Saturday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville, Tenn. Services were held Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Holly Springs with burial in Cottrell Memorial Gardens there. Serenity Funeral Home in Holly Springs has charge. Mrs. Smith, the wife of Eunice Smith Jr., also leaves two sons, Michael Smith of Patterson, N.Y., and Ronnie Smith of Chicago; two sisters, Naomi Malone of Victoria and Omega Larkin of West Point; a brother, Marshall Malone of Victoria, and a granddaughter.

VAUGHN, LUCILLE NETTLES WELLS, 92, homemaker, died Friday, April 29, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. Services were held Sunday, May 1, 2005, at W.E. Pegues Funeral Home Jefferson Street Chapel in Tupelo with burial in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery in Verona. She was a member of Monument Drive Baptist Church in Tupelo. She leaves three daughters, Clarise Keen of Southaven, Dorothy Bailey of Tupelo and Dianne Hammond of Arlington, Texas; three sons, Raymond E. Vaughn of Southaven, Michael L. Vaughn of Plantersville and Gary Steven Vaughn of Lexa, Ark., 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Monument Drive Baptist Church.
