Survivors Include: Two Sons, Claude Slaven and Roger Slaven both of Picayune, Mississippi One Daughter, Iva Nell Furr of Picayune, Mississippi and One Sister Elsie Wheat of Picayune, Mississippi, as well as Eleven Great Grandchildren.

He was a Electrical Inspector for New Construction and Overseas Piplines, a member of the First Baptist Church of Carriere, Mississippi and a member of He was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard, was a member of the Carriere Masonic Lodge #445 and earned a Masters of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.
