Services were held Saturday, March 26, 2005, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Gillespie Funeral Home in Olive Branch has charge. Mrs. Guy, the wife of Daniel L. Guy, also leaves two daughters, Rosie L. Guy and Charlotte Batts, both of Byhalia; three sisters, Beatrice Eddins and Eulah Mae Tucker, both of Memphis, and Gladys Crutcher of Chicago, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

HALL, LULA CURBO, 92, former sales clerk for Goldsmith's, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Services were held Friday, March 25, 2005, at Brantley Funeral Home with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. She was a member of Olive Branch First Baptist Church and Mineral Wells Rook Club. Mrs. Hall, the widow of Alfred Hall, leaves a daughter, Dorothy Hall Lowry of Olive Branch; a son, Billy Don Hall of Ridgeland; a sister, Betty Curbo Smith, and two brothers, Lawrence Wilson Curbo and Charles Curbo, all of Olive Branch, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Hawkins
HAWKINS, WILMA ROACH, 84, of Memphis, retired from Holiday Inn, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at Kirby Pines Manor. Services were held Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Munford Cemetery. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hawkins, the widow of Ershel Roach and Lawrence Hawkins, leaves two daughters, Becky Ramos of Byhalia, Miss., and Linda Elmore of Bartlett; a son, Edwin Roach of Olive Branch; two sisters, Nola Anderson of Drasco, Ark., and Nell Fullerton of Heber Springs, Ark., and five grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Christ United Methodist Church.

Horton
HORTON, JO ANNE, 66, of Gentry, Ark., formerly of Southaven, homemaker, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Services were held Friday, March 25, 2005, at Gentry First Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Gentry Cemetery. She was a member of Central Church in Memphis. Mrs. Horton, the wife of James Horton, also leaves a son, Perry Anthony Horton, and her parents, Paul and Gladys Gerrndt, all of Gentry; a sister, Shirley Smith of Gravette, Ark., and two granddaughters.

Jeter
JETER, NANCY, 58, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Saint Francis Hospital. Graveside services were held Monday, March 28, 2005, in Bethel Cemetery. Family Funeral Care has charge. She leaves two daughters, Cindy Stout of Horn Lake and Dana Winters of Memphis, and seven grandchildren.

Johnson
JOHNSON, ALFRED JACKSON, 89, retired dairy farmer, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at his home. Services were held Friday, March 25, 2005, at Family Funeral Care in Memphis with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Mr. Johnson, the husband of Mayme B. Johnson for 69 years, also leaves three sons, Les Johnson of Nashville, and Sam Johnson and Randy Johnson, both of Olive Branch, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Jones
JONES, CLEO M., 87, of Bartlett, homemaker, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at her home. Services were held Thursday, March 23, 2005, at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery South. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Jones, the widow of Leonard N. Jones, leaves two sons, Robert L. Jones of Bartlett and Wayne N. Jones of Somerville; a sister, Nell Meredith Shelly of Nesbit; a brother, Thomas W. Meredith of Thyatira, Miss., two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Paragould (Ark.) Children's Home.

Lindsey
LINDSEY, HAZEL E., 69, retired from Deltona Lighting in Senatobia, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at her home. Services were held Monday, March 28, 2005, at Holly Springs Funeral Home with burial in Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion, Ark. She was a member of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Lindsey, the widow of Junior Clyde Lindsey, leaves two sons, Ronny Lindsey and Joey Lindsey, both of Byhalia; three sisters, Syble Meyers of Missouri, Mardra Davis of California and Sylvia Parsley of Nevada; a brother, Willie Pipes of Jonesboro, Ark., eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Manning
MANNING, EMERSON DEVON, 88, routeman, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, in Southaven. Graveside services were Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Byhalia Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home had charge. He was a Baptist. He leaves three daughters, Virginia Glover of Guntown, Kathleen Mitchell of Athens, Tenn., and Rebecca Manning of Statesville, N.C.; two sons, Emerson D. Manning Jr. of Mooresville, N.C., and Paul W. Manning of Statesville; a sister, Jewel Manning of Jackson; two brothers, Leon Manning of Southaven and Rodney Manning of Snow Lake, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Marshall
MARSHALL, SADIE WILBANKS, 74, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Baptist Desoto Hospital. Services were held Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Longview Heights Baptist Church with burial at Union Cemetery in Corinth. Brantley Funeral Home had charge. She was a retired pastor's wife and a member of Longview Heights Baptist Church. Her husband, Rev. Ray R. Marshall, preceded her in death. She leaves her daughter, Mary L. Marshall of Memphis, her son, Dr. Wayne Marshall of Olive Branch, her sister, Jean Clements of Tupelo, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be donated to the Missions Fund or Building Fund of Longview Heights Baptist Church.

Pierce
PIERCE, WALTER F., 76, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Tunica Nursing Home. Graveside services were held Monday, March 28, 2005, at Hinds Chapel Cemetery. Hernando Funeral Home has charge. He leaves a sister, Louise Fair of Arkansas, and a nephew who helped care for him, James Oakes.

Simpson
SIMPSON, MARION R., 83, homemaker, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Twin Oaks Funeral Home has charge. Mrs. Simpson, the widow of Berley Simpson, leaves two daughters, Barbara Tollison of Horn Lake and Linda Monday of Memphis; a sister, Virginia Waller of Memphis; a brother, Ray Rooks of Maury City, Tenn., three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Southaven.

STEWART, CHANTA DENISE, 16, student at Hernando High School, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. Services were held Saturday, March 26, 2005, at St. Mary Baptist Church in Nesbit, where she was a member, with burial in the church cemetery there. M.J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She leaves her mother, Marilyn Stewart; her father, Dennis Scott, and two brothers, Fredrick Stewart and Cortez Newberry, all of Hernando; two half-sisters, Laketha Porter and Lakesha Porter, both of Coldwater, and her grandparents, Margaret Robison and B.L. Wilkins, both of Nesbit.

Waddell
WADDELL, CAROLYN, 53, died of cancer Thursday, March 24, 2005, at her home in Hernando. Services were held Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Nesbit First Baptist Church with burial at Hernando Memorial Park. Hernando Funeral Home had charge. She was a member of Nesbit First Baptist Church, on the athletic committee and soccer coach at the church. She leaves her son, Christopher Brewington of Tate County, her two daughters, Kelli Parker and Karli Darby, both of Hernando, her brother, Ray Waddell of Southaven, her two sisters, Terri Sutton of Hernando and Lisa Carmody of Walls, her mother, Barbara Waddell of Hernando, her grandmother, Clara Puckett of Southaven, and four grandchildren. Memorials may be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Williams
WILLIAMS, DOROTHY MARION, 76, formerly of Memphis, retired from General Electric after 20 years, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at her son's home in Southaven. Services were held Friday, March 25, 2005, at Forest Hill Funeral Home South in Memphis with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery South. She was a member of Pickwick United Methodist Church and Women's Independent Bowling Conference and a former member of Oakhaven United Methodist Church. Mrs. Williams, the widow of Mark T. Williams, leaves two sons, Mike Williams of Memphis and Mitch Williams of Southaven; two sisters, Janet Cronn of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Billie Sue Hickok of Cussetta, Ga.; a brother, Thomas Fields of Colt, Ark., and four granddaughters. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Pickwick United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Bargery
BARGERY, DOYLE L., 84, of Memphis, retired truck driver for Red Ball Motor Freight, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at his son's home in Hernando. Services were held Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery South. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of Gracewood Baptist Church. Mr. Bargery, the widower of Emma Bargery, leaves a daughter, Janet Ellis of Littleton, Colo.; three sons, Alan Bargery, David Bargery and Leo Bargery, all of Hernando; three sisters, Alice Horton of West Memphis, and Katherine Booher and Pat Morgan, both of Memphis; a brother, Richard Bargery of West Memphis, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Gracewood Baptist Church.
