KEMP, DONNA, 52, died Friday, July 29, 2005 at her home. Services were held Monday, August 1, 2005 at Hernando Funeral Home, who had charge. Mrs. Kemp, the widow of John Kemp, leaves a brother, Greg Wood of Denim Springs, LA; her grandmother, Beulah Mansel of Bartlett, TN, and a sister-in-law who cared for her, Gail Williams of Memphis.

Laughter
LAUGHTER, FANNIE MAE, 83, retired nurse's aide, of Byhalia, died Thursday, July 28, 2005, in Byhalia. Services were held Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Brantley Funeral Home, who had charge, with burial at Lebanon Cemetery. She was a member of Byhalia Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Laughter, and her son, Al Laughter. She leaves her daughter, Mary Frances Moulton, her sister, Stella Kate Powell, both of Byhalia, her two brothers, Paul Boggan of Memphis, and Charlie Boggan of Brownsville, TN, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

McLain
MCLAIN, SANDRA HANNA, 68, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away Monday, July 25, 2005 at her home. She was a former member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She was an avid bridge player and sports enthusiast. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. McLain. She is survived by her daughter, Caryn A. Gassett; 3 sons, Eric Darin McLain, Mark S. McLain, and Robert S. McLain, Jr.; 3 sisters, Barbara Allison, Betty Perkins, and Mary Holden; 2 brothers, C.L. Hanna and Ron Hanna; 8 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Services were held Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Brantley Funeral Home with burial on Friday, July 29, 2005, at Riverdale Cemetery in Columbus, GA.

Miner
MINER, MILDRED, 78, homemaker, of Southaven, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Desoto Health Care in Southaven. Services were held Monday, August 1, 2005, at Twin Oaks Funeral Home, who had charge, with graveside services at the Garden of Memories in Sikeston, Missouri. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Walls. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Charles Holden and Ken Miner, her parents, Arthur and Sadie Lashley, her six brothers and two sisters. She leaves her daughter, Dian Carmack of Horn Lake, her two sons, Art and Gene Holden, both of Sikeston, her sister, Leora Wedd of Florida, five grandchildren, and eight grandchildren.

White
WHITE, VIVIAN DANIELS, 82, homemaker, died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Baptist Desoto. Services were held Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Hernando Funeral Home with burial at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. White, the wife of the late Moody C. White, leaves 5 daughters, Bernice Moore of Hernando; Virginia Coats of Raymond; Barbara Lenard of Batesville; Lynn Eggert of Strayhorn and Alice Hodges who preceded her in death; 2 sisters, Geneva George of Coldwater; Lora Butler of Winona; 2 brothers, Henry Daniels of Verona; Edward Daniels of Jackson; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Bushnell
BUSHNELL, HATTIE ELAINE STEVENS, 54, of Southaven, Miss, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 8, 2005. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend, and a long standing member of Trinity Baptist Church. She leaves a father, Albert Stevens; four brothers, Tommy Stevens, Harvey Stevens, Wayne Stevens and Leonard Stevens; a son, Wayne Bushnell, Jr.; a daughter, Patricia Spaulding; and 5 grandchildren. Visitation was held on Friday August 12, at Forest Hill Midtown, with funeral services Saturday August 13.

Butler
BUTLER, JEAN E. 'JEANNIE', 72, died on August 11, 2005 at Baptist Hospital Memphis. Services were Sunday Aug. 15, at Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, with burial at Blocker Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 51 yrs, Eugene T. Butler, two daughters, Vikki Winemiller of Olive Branch, and Debbie Butler of Bartlett. Six grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorials are to go to Longview Heights Baptist Church, Missions, where she was a member.

Coleman
COLEMAN, NANCY CARLEN, 93, of Olive Branch, died on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at her home. She was a member of Mineral Wells United Methodist Church. Visitation was Sunday, August 14, 2005 at Brantley Funeral Home. Funeral services were Monday, August 15, 2005 at Brantley Funeral Home with burial followed in Blocker Cemetery. Mrs. Coleman, the widow of Jesse B. Coleman leaves two sons, Harold Coleman and Denver "Jack" Coleman, both of Olive Branch, one daughter, Lena Lavaris of Memphis, one sister, Virginia Sandridge of Olive Branch, 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. The family prefers memorials be made to Mineral Wells United Methodist Church, American Heart Association, or American Cancer Society.

Davis
DAVIS, ADOLPHUS 'BLUE', 53, of Byhalia. Services were August 15 at Street Hill Primitive Baptist Church-Byhalia.

Durbin
DURBIN, PAUL R., 49, of Southaven, Miss, delivery driver, died Monday August 8, 2005 at Methodist University Hospital. Services were held Friday, August 12, 2005, at Bartlett Funeral Home with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown. Durbin leaves 2 daughters, Lisa M. Durbin of Southaven and Wendy Foster of Memphis; 2 brothers, Raymond Durbin of Hallendale, Fla and David Durbin of Memphis; his father, John Durbin of Heth, Ark.; 3 sisters, Patricia Childs of Heth, Ark., Linda Sue Cole and Mary Turner both of Knoxville, Tenn.

Greer
GREER, RICHARD JEWELL 'RICKY G.', 47, of Southaven, died Thursday, August 11, 2005, at his home. He was a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church and former heavy equipment mechanic, also an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He is preceded in death by his step-father, Jimmy Howe, and survived by his wife, Judy Greer of Southaven; mother, Mary Howe of Horn Lake, MS; son, Ricky Greer, Jr. of Eudora, MS; daughter, Meka Greer of Southaven; sisters, Debbie Rainey and Pamela Glover of Southaven; one grandchild, Hunter Reed Greer of Eudora; step-children, David L. Riley, Jr, Nicole Mays, and Aaron Webster all of Memphis. Visitation was held at High Point Chapel Friday, August, 12, 2005 and Funeral Service Saturday, August 13, 2005 and interment at Goodrum Cemetery, Eudora, Miss.

Jackson
JACKSON, JOHN BYRON, 96, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005. Visitation was at at the First Presbyterian Church in Hernando. A graveside service was held at the Hernando Memorial Cemetery, with a Memorial Service following at the Church. Mr. Jackson was born October 15, 1908 in Coldwater, Miss. He graduated from Draughns Business College in Memphis in 1928 and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southwestern College in Memphis in 1951. Mr. Jackson began working at the Hernando Post Office in 1929 and was appointed as Postmaster in 1940 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, a post he held until his retirement in 1986. During World War II, he served in the United States Army as a Technical Sergeant from 1943 to 1945 in the APO in England, France, and Belgium. Mr. Jackson served as an elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Hernando, where he has been a member for many years. He also became an affiliate member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Miss. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Tipton Jackson; daughter, Nadine Noel Jackson; his parents, John Marcus and Linda Tennessee McCall; brother Marcus Jackson; sisters, Louise Scales and Lucille Jackson. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Bailey Jackson; daughter, Myra Hester; daughter, Marian Shaffer and her husband, Frank; granddaughters, Becky Newman, Tania Fontaine, Julie Shaffer, and Mimi Shaffer; and great-grandchildren, Sarah and James Newman, and Maggie Fontaine. He also leaves step-daughter Shirley Reel; step-grandchildren, Livia Harris and Lisa Collins; and step-great grandchildren, Wil and Gena Harris, Ryan, Rachel, and Kathryn Collins. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Hernando or to Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Miss. Hernando.

Jamison
JAMISON, HUBERT M. "JIM", 78, of Little Rock, Ark. Formerly of Independence, Miss, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005 at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Jamison was the retired owner of Jim Jamison Pest Control. He was a mason, member of the Mississippi State University Alumni Association, member of Pi Chi Omega and past president of the Tennessee and National Pest Control Associations. Mr. Mason was survived by his wife, Jean Jamison; a son, Randy Jamison; five sisters, Inez Scott; Anne Lee Walker; Frances Shipley, Wilma Hyde all of Independence and Martha Chloe Hubble of Galatia, Ill. and 26 nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday Aug. 13, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Independence with burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Marcinkowska
MARCINKOWSKA, HELEN ELIZABETH MARCHETTI, 84, died Tuesday, August 9, 2005. She was born on May 25, 1921 in Memphis to the late Odoardo Marchetti and Elizabeth Wolshuck Marchetti. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud Marcinkowska; three sons, Kenny, Joseph and David, two sister, Margaret Steinkirch and Annie Favazza. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Southaven. She graduated from Saint Thomas High School in 1938, helped run her parents family grocery store in Memphis, married November 27, 1947 and moved to Chester, Illinois where they established a farm, moved to Southaven in 1960 where she became the office manager for the family irrigation business. She continued in that job for 3 decades until finally retiring in 1994. She is survived by one sister, Elizabeth True, daughter, Betty Mohler, son, Tommy Marcinkowska, son, Jerry Marcinkowska, eight grandchildren, Christopher Mohler, Catherine Raymond, Gregory Mohler, Molly Mohler, Allison Mohler, Andrew Marcinkowska, Kenneth Marcinkowska and Douglas Marcinkowska and three great-grandchildren, Justine, Gabriel and Nicholas Raymond. Visitation was held at Memphis Funeral Home on Friday Aug. 12. She was buried at Calvary Cemetery, Memphis.

McKinley
McKINLEY, KATIE LEE, 74. Services, were held Saturday, August 13 at Second Eudora Baptist Church, Eudora.

Stacks
STACKS, JESSIE HUGH, 72 of Byhalia, Miss., died August 10, 2005 at Baptist East Hospital. Services were held Saturday Aug 13 at Forest Hill South. He was a member of North Memphis Church of the Nazarene. He was retired from Binswanger Glass Company. He leaves 3 sons, Rick Stacks of Oakland, Tenn; Gary Stacks of Byhalia, Miss, and Ronnie Stacks of Bartlett, Tenn; a daughter Janet Budai of Ennis, Tex.; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great-grand children.

Tatum
TATUM, MICHAEL AARON, 37, died Saturday at his home in Walls, MS. He was employed at Thomas and Betts in Byhalia, MS. Michael is predeceased by his Parents, Patsy Staubs Taylor and Lloyd Aaron Tatum, and his sister Pamela Briggs. Michael is survived by his sisters, Lisa Hardison of Horn Lake, MS, Cynthia Huddleston of Southaven, MS, and Stephanie Wages of Woodbury, TN. He also has 12 nieces and nephews.
