Mrs. Scott the widow of Waymond Scott , leaves 3 sisters, Alice Pittman of Collierville, Dorothy Faye McLeod of Memphis and Gala Edwards of Byhalia; 1 brother, Billy Dunlap of Byhalia; nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephew and great great nieces. Visitation was held Saturday, September 10 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS. Funeral services were held September 11 with burial in Lebanon Cemetery.

Simpson
SIMPSON, ROBERT L. JR., 23, died on Monday, September 5, 2005 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Karen Simpson; brothers and sisters, Charlotte, Kathryn, Faith and Caleb Simpson; grandparents, Fred and Charlotte Simpson and Kenneth (deceased) and Marilyn DuCasse. Mr. Simpson was a member of Andrew Jackson Way Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. Visitation was held Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Grace Bible Church in Olive Branch, MS, with burial in Autumn Woods Memorial Park in Olive Branch. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to LeBonheur Foundation, Cardiac Division, P.O. Box 42048, Memphis, TN 38174. Specify in memory of Robert L. Simpson Jr.

Bledsoe
BLEDSOE, BENNY, 53, of Olive Branch, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Bledsoe was employed by Snap-On-Tools. Funeral services were held on Wednesday Jan. 11 at Hernando Funeral Home with burial in Autumn Woods Memorial Park. Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife, Janet Bledsoe. Three sons, Josh Bledsoe of Olive Branch; Chris Bledsoe of Horn Lake, and Kevin Bledsoe of Hernando, MS.; his mother Linda Bledsoe of Muldrowl, OK.; one brother Tony Bledsoe of Texas, and one granddaughter. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Hernando Funeral Home.

Brewer
BREWER, JOHN R., 85, Memphis, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at Methodist University Hospital, Memphis. He was a member of SASCA - Southern Amateur Saddle Club Association, the Olive Branch Church of Christ, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. Visitation was held on Jan. 12 at the Brantley Funeral Home, Olive Branch. Funeral services were held on Jan. 13 at the Olive Branch Church of Christ with interment at Floyds Chapel Cemetery near Murray City, Tenn. Mr. Brewer, the husband of Christine E. Brewer for 60 years, also leaves a daughter, Johnnie Brannon, Collierville; two sons, Michael W. Brewer and Tommy Joe Brewer, both of Memphis; one sister, Vivian VanCleave of Clearmont, Fla.; two brothers, James L. Brewer of Olive Branch, Miss., and Billy J. Brewer of Memphis; two grandchildren, Michael W. Brewer II of Lakeland, Tenn., and Karli J. Caruso of Cordova; and one great-grandson, Joseph Michael Caruso, also of Cordova. Memorials may be made to the Olive Branch Church of Christ.

CROSS, Faynette Turpin “Faye”, 63, of Southaven, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006 at Baptist DeSoto, Southaven. Funeral services were held at Hernando Funeral Home with burial in Goodrum Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, William A. Cross of Southaven, one son, Kevin Cross of Southaven; her mother, Pauline Turpin of Jonesboro, AR.; three sisters, Barbara Oliver of Nashville, TN., Willa Jean Grammer of Eudora, MS., Gerri Farmer of Jonesboro, AR.; two brothers, Danny Turpin of Jonesboro, AR., and Jackie Turpin of Jonesboro, AR. Arrangements by Hernando Funeral Home.

Ellis
ELLIS, ELIZABETH HUDSON, 88, of Brighton, a retired employee of Cherokee Elementary School in Memphis, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Visitation was held Saturday, January 14 at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home of Hernando. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 14 at Greenleaf (MS) Cemetery. She was a member of Gallaway Methodist Church. Mrs. Ellis, the widow of Sam Ellis, leaves two sons, John Williams of Memphis and Thomas Williams of Brighton; a stepdaughter, Sarah Houston of Omaha, NE; a stepson, John Ellis of Watson, LA, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Herring
HERRING William F. “Bill,” 45, devoted son, husband and father, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, in Pensacola, Fla., surrounded by his family. Bill was born on Oct. 31, 1960, to William and Faye Herring at Warner Robins AFB, Ga. Bill grew up primarily in Memphis, Tenn., and Southaven, Miss., then moved with his wife to Fort Walton Beach, Fla., in December 1995 to help in the cleanup after Hurricane Opal. Bill enjoyed anything to do with airplanes. His one wish was to obtain his pilot’s license. He became seriously ill in 2003 and was never able to fulfill that dream. Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon, a resident of Navarre, Fla.; his mother, Faye Herring of Hernando, Miss.; a daughter, Amanda King, and two grandchildren, William Christopher and McKenzie Paige King of Southaven; two sisters and one brother, Sharon Peyton and Belinda Williams, both of Hernando, and Max Herring of Horn Lake, Miss. Bill also leaves three stepchildren and eight nieces and nephews. Services were held in Memphis at Forest Hill South on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006. Viewing was held at the Forest South Funeral Home. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Randall
RANDALL, Jennifer Reynolds, 62, Hernando, Miss., passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2006. Mrs. Randall was a graduate of Mississippi College, where she studied Latin and was a member of the Hall of Fame. She earned a master’s degree in religious studies from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, Calif., and an additional master’s degree in English from Memphis State University. In her more than 30-year teaching career, she taught English, Latin and Spanish to high school students, spending the majority of her career at Oak Haven High School in Memphis. Mrs. Randall is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Rev. Daryl Lee Randall; her son, David Christopher Randall of Alpharetta, Ga.; and her sister, Sandra Reynolds McKnight of Jackson, Miss. She was preceded in death by her father, J.B. Reynolds; her mother, Eleanor Reynods; and her brother, Jimmie Reynolds. Visitation was held Jan. 17 at the Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home, Hernando. A graveside service was held Jan. 18 at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, Miss.

Schultz
SCHULTZ, Therese “Terri” Marie Williams, 51, of Olive Branch, MS., Kindergarten teacher at Shadow Oaks Elementary School in Horn Lake, MS., died Thursday Jan. 12, 2006 at Baptist Women’s Hospital. Mass was said at 10:00 am Monday, Jan. 16, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Olive Branch, MS., where she was a communicant, with burial in Memorial Park South Woods Cemetery in Memphis. Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch had charge. Mrs. Schultz was actively involved in church, school and community. Miss Terri was the Shadow Oaks Elementary School coordinator for the St. Jude’s Math-a-Thon and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Mrs. Schultz, the wife of Kevin Schultz of Olive Branch, also leaves her father, McVay Troy Williams Jr., of Olive Branch MS., one brother James Daniel Williams III of Troy, IL.; one niece, Kathryn Paige Williams of Troy, IL, and one nephew James Daniel Williams, Jr., of Troy, Il. Miss Terri will be missed by those whose lives she touched. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Olive Branch or the American Cancer Society. Simmons
SIMMONS, Al, age 63, of Hernando, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Baptist DeSoto in Southaven. Mr. Simmons was the former director of the DeSoto County Literacy Council. Memorial mass was held at 3:00 pm Monday January 16, 2006 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife Sally Dickson Simmons of Hernando, MS., one daughter Maggie Simmons of Hernando, MS., and one son Jim Simmons of Hernando, MS.; three brothers, Ed Simmons of Florida, Bob Simmons of Jefferson, PA., and Dave Simmons of Pittsburg, PA. Arrangements by Hernando Funeral Home.

SOUTH, Katherine Ann “Kaye," age 81, of Nesbit died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at her residence. Services were held Monday Jan. 16, at New Bethlehem Church with burial in New Bethlehem Cemetery. Mrs. South was a retired cosmetologist. She attended Hunter College is New York City in preparation for her service in the Navy Waves during Word War II. She was a member of Church Road Baptist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. South was preceded in death by her husband William E. South. She is survived by one daughter, Lynda J. South of Richmond, VA.; one son, Donald South and his wife Patricia of Nesbit, MS.; three sisters Dorothy White, Hernando MS., Ina Summers, Swanee, S.C.., Nina Toth of Port Charlotte, FL.; two brothers Fred Vinson of Nesbit, MS., James Vinson, Memphis, TN.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. WHITE Jeff, age 47, sweeper operator for Aardvark Sweeping, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at 7:00 pm at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Nancy White, four daughters, Anne Wilson & her husband Timothy of Memphis, Santina Stanek of New York, Nancie Wozniak of MS., Jennifer White of New York; one son Allen Harris of Southaven, MS.; his stepfather Leonard Lapp of New York City; two sisters, Nancy Guetta and her husband Bill of New York, Penny Maluchnik and her husband Steven of New York; five brothers, Ronald White and his wife Linda of GA., Edward White of FL., Howard White and his companion Michael of FL., Dave White and his wife Tammy of FL., Dale White of PA.; 2 step-sisters, 4 step-brothers and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Roy White, mother Georgena Lapp and brother Kenneth White. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. WINGATE, Emma Lynne, age 84, of Hernando, MS. Former Deputy Circuit Clerk for DeSoto County died Sunday Jan. 15, 2006 at Baptist DeSoto in Southaven. Graveside services were held at 10:00 am Tuesday Jan. 17, 2006 with burial in Hernando Memorial Cemetery. She is survived by her husband Cyrus L. Wingate of Hernando, two sons Jay Wingate of Hernando and Stewart Wingate of Memphis, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice. ARMSTRONG, IRENE BALDWIN, 53, retired R.N. Home Health Agency, died Sunday, May 29, 2006 at her home. Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home of Hernando. Services were at 1 p.m Thursday, June 1 at Hernando Church of Christ with burial in Cleveland Cemetery, Cleveland, MS. She was a member of Hernando Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Steve Armstrong; three daughters, Christina Baldwin, Carrie Baldwin and Regina Mansel all of Hernando; one son, Brandon McCain of Hernando; mother, Mary Jane Baldwin of Drew, MS; she is preceded in death by one son, Jeremy Clifford McCain. She is also survived by three sisters, Lynda Hopper of Horn Lake, Brenda Scribner of Cleveland and Jeannie Livingston of Cleveland; three brothers, Roger D. Baldwin of Memphis, Calvin Baldwin of Cleveland and James "Smoky" Baldwin of Drew; one grandchild, Ethan Hunter McCain. Arrangements by Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home of Hernando.

BRUNETTE, BEN, 49, of Olive Branch, died on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Germantown. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Brunette, the husband of Maggie ( McClung ) Brunette, also leaves two daughters in Michigan; two brothers, Ken and Ed; four sisters, Patti, Yvonne, Amy and Lucy; his mother, Shirley and two grandchildren, Kody and Cassidy. CLIFFORD, HORACE NEAL, 79, retired boiler operator for Cargill, Inc., died Friday, June 2, 2006 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Funeral services were held at noon Monday, June 5 at Twin Oaks Funeral Home with burial in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of Church Road Baptist Church. Mr. Clifford, the husband of Frances Clifford for 53 years, also leaves a daughter and her husband, Mona and Dan Jones of Southaven; a son, Tony Clifford of Southaven; two sisters, Frances Phillips of Memphis and Lula Scarbrough of Malesus, TN; two brothers, Marvin Clifford of North Carolina and Robert Clifford of Pinson, TN; two granddaughters, Jenny Austin and Lori Jones, and a great-grandchild, Payton Austin, all of Southaven. CULVER, JUNIUS B. “JUNE BUG”, 77, resident of Olive Branch, MS, former resident of Fayette County and widow of Frances Leath Culver, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Services for Mr. Culver were at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with burial in the Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery in Memphis. Mr. Culver was a native of Fayette County and a Baptist. He was a farmer and a painter in earlier years and before his retirement enjoyed growing vegetables & selling them from his roadside market on Stateline Road. Survivors: daughters, Norma Holden of Bartlett, Brenda Morris of Williston and Patricia Norman of Olive Branch, MS; twin sons, Johnny Culver and Ronnie Culver, both of Horseshoe Lake, AR; brothers, Winford Culver of Rogers, AR, Billy Wayne Culver of Oakland; fourteen grandchildren & twenty great-grandchildren. SHELTON, DOROTHA SUE, 58, housewife and homemaker, died May 29, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto.
