HARDY - Terry "Gene" Hardy, 65, Horn Lake, retired Logistics Specialist of Horn Lake, passed away Oct. 6, 2007, at Baptist-Desoto Hospital. Loving father and grandfather. Survived by wife of 39 years, Donna; daughter, Shelby Elmore; son-in-law, Ronnie Elmore and three grandsons, Matthew, Andrew and Jacob; mother, Lucy Hardy-Rogers; sisters-in-law, Karen Webb and Dollie Hardy; brother-in-law, Rusty Sisson; nephews, Mike, Robert and Shane; niece, Courtney; and host of other relatives and dear friends. Preceded in death by father, Owen Hardy and brothers, Joe and Seth Hardy. Worked in the same plant for over 47 years as it changed ownership and names several times before becoming Bryce Corporation. Avid outdoorsman, enjoyed deer hunting and raising and riding quarter horses. Spent his life helping and mentoring others in the workplace and at home. Accomplished saddle maker, enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Memorial service was held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, Memorial Park Funeral Home. KIRKSEY - Pamela Kay Kirksey, 50, Olive Branch, passed away Oct. 1, 2007. Born June 9, 1957, in Biloxi, Miss. To Forrest and Wanda Rector. Taught in public schools of DeSoto County for several years. On June 6, 1981, she married Robert F. Kirksey, Westville, Okla. After traveling with the military for several years, they settled their family in Olive Branch. Active member of Getwell Road United Methodist Church, where she taught Children's choir and played hand bells. Loved working with kids and was avid supporter of high school sports in Olive Branch and Center Hill. Survived by husband of 26 years; daughter, Brittany Elizabeth, Baton Rouge, La.; son, Robert F. Kirksey II; mother, Wanda Rector; and brothers, Steve and Jeff Rector; and families of Fayetteville, Ark. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 5 with services at 2 p.m. Oct. 6, both Brantley Funeral Home. Interment, Blocker Cemetery.
