MCCOMB — Funeral services for Mildred B. Avera, 93, of McComb will be Saturday at 10:30 p.m. at Hartman Funeral Home chapel, McComb. She died of heart failure Aug. 17, 2000, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, McComb. Burial will be in Mars Hill Cemetery, Amite County.
BROWN
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Bernice Brown, 85, of Greenville and formerly of Chatham will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at St. Paul MB Church, Valewood. She died Aug. 13, 2000, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Friendship Church Cemetery, Chatham, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
Pastor George Bean will officiate.
COLLINS
SHAW — Funeral services for Jannie Collins, 91, of Shaw will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest MB Church, five miles west of Shaw. She died Aug. 15, 2000, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest MB Church Cemetery under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.
She was united in matrimony to Daniel Collins Jr. in January 1927. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Pilgrim Rest MB Church. She was the oldest mother on the mothers’ board of the church. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age in Duncan, Miss.
Survivors include four daughters, Rose Williams, Mary Collins and Lottie Nzinghon Collins, all of Chicago, and Betty Nelagah Gowanis of Shaw; six sons, Will Collins and Charlie Collins, both of Kansas City, Mo., Dan Collins and Edward Collins, both of Chicago, and Alfred Collins and Jim Collins, both of Shaw; 32 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.
Pastor Herron Wilson will officiate.
EDWARDS
HOLLANDALE — Funeral services for Walter Edwards, 70, of Buffalo, N.Y., will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Hollandale. He died Aug. 10, 2000, at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Hollandale.
Survivors include one son, Paul Edwards of Buffalo, N.Y.; two sisters, Rebecca Edwards of Hollandale and Pecolia Ford of Panther Burn; eight brothers, Henry (Brenda) Edwards, Lee Oscar (Catherine) Edwards, Willie Edwards and Eugene Edwards, all of Hollandale, Isiah (Linda) Edwards of Delta City, J.W. Edwards of Houston, Texas, David (Bessie Mae) Franklin of Jackson, and Earvin (Pearlie) Edwards of Minnesota; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family hour will be Saturday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Hollandale.

HALL
ROSEDALE — Funeral services for Viola Hall, 97, of Rosedale will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Gospel Temple MB Church, Rosedale. She died Aug. 12, 2000, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial will be in St. Paul Church Cemetery, Rosedale, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland.
Survivors include one sister, Beatrice Lewis of Rosedale; one special niece, Edna Lunford of Rosedale; one special great-niece, Undraye Smith of Rosedale; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland. The body will lie in state Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.

HOBART
GREENVILLE —Funeral services for Betty Rose Leach Hobart, 72, of Greenville, a retired state employee, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. She died of congestive heart failure Aug. 16, 2000, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson. Burial will be at the Greenville Cemetery.
Mrs. Hobart was born May 19, 1928, in Greenville to the late Earnest and Drady Leach. She was a lifelong resident of Greenville until moving to Jackson in 1998 to be near her children. She attended Greenville public schools and graduated from Greenville High School. She was employed for many years with the Mississippi State Employment Service until she retired. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Hobart, in 1996.
Survivors include one son, David (Margaret) Hobart of Flowood; two daughters, Laura (Joey) Ray of Pearl, and Julie (Wayne) Hawkins of Jackson; one sister, Mary (Richard) Eifling of Lake Village, Ark.; one brother, Jerry Leach of Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Greenville.
HUDSON
GREENVILLE —Funeral services for Susie Lee Hudson, 67, of Greenville will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Holy Trinity MB Church, Greenville. She died Aug. 15, 2000, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Church Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hudson Sr.; one daughter, Mary R. Wright; one sister, Dorothy Williams; and one son-in-law, Wayne Wright.
Survivors include three sons, James Hudson Jr. of Detroit, Mich., and Peter (Mary Ann) Brown Jr. and Dennis (Rosemary) Hudson, both of Greenville; four daughters, Barbara A. Hudson and Irene (Malcolm) Sanders, both of Greenville, Renora (Bishop M.L.) Lott of Dover, Del., and Deloris (Edward) Jenkins of Detroit, Mich.; eight sisters, Lucille (Hiram) Dukes, Dorothy (Willie) Bettis and Maxine Johnson, all of White Cloud, Minn., Alice Smith of Miami, Fla., Martha Johnson, Lillie Johnson and Josie Johnson, all of Peoria, Ill., and Thelma Rice of Starkville.; four brothers, David (Barbara) Jones of Greenville, Ivory Johnson of White Cloud, Minn., and Sam Johnson and Samuel Johnson, both of Peoria, Ill.; three sisters-in-law, Emma Hudson of Chicago, Ill., Peggy Quinn of Detroit, Mich., and Georgia Hines of Greenville; 16 grandsons, Sharka Corbin, Lajuan Parish, Elhagi Corbin, Tor T. Corbin, Faraji Wright, Dennis Price Hudson, DeAlonzo Price Hudson, Corey Hudson, James Hudson and Antonio Hudson Brown, all of Greenville, Andre’ J. Lott and Marion Lott Jr., both of Dover, Del., Cavin Williams, Shanga Hudson, and Kewambi Hudson, all of Augusta, Ga., and Karamit Hudson of Detroit, Mich.; eight granddaughters, Shajuana P. Bell, Suzanne L. Sanders, Shamira O. Wright, Nakita Thomas and Laketa Avice Hudson, all of Greenville, Kamillah J. Lott of Dover, Del., Shabunni Hudson of Augusta, Ga., and Angela R. LANDI
LELAND — A funeral Mass for Olanda Fratesi Landi, 86, of Leland will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Leland. She died of cancer Aug. 17, 2000, at her home. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery, Stoneville, under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
She was born in Gadsden, Ala., and moved to Leland at an early age with her parents. She graduated from Leland High School. She married Peter Paul Landi, and they owned and operated Landi’s Grocery Store for over 35 years. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son, Robert Louis Landi of Leland; one sister, Ida Fratesi Cefalu of Leland; and two brothers, Larry Fratesi and Charlie L. Fratesi, both of Leland.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church, with a rosary to be said at 7 p.m.
McGEE
GREENVILLE — Graveside services for Evelyn Montgomery McGee, 80, of Greenville will be today at 10:30 a.m. in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery, Stoneville. She died of heart failure Aug. 16, 2000, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. McGee was born in Huntsville, Ala., and moved to Greenville at an early age. She graduated from the Greenville public schools and attended Delta State University. She married Clyde McGee Jr. and they made their home in Leland. Her husband preceded her in death in 1995. She was a communicant of St. James’ Episcopal Church of Greenville.
Survivors include one daughter, Sally McGee Abraham of Washington, D.C.; three sons, Clyde McGee III, Monty McGee and Carlisle McGee, all of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 9 to 10 a.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

PITTMAN
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for George Pittman Jr., 28, of Greenville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Progressive Baptist State Convention Building, Greenville. He died Aug. 11, 2000, from injuries sustained in an accident on Sligo Dairy Road, Leland. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
Survivors include one daughter, Earlneshia Pratt of Houston, Texas; his mother, Leatha Mae Eaton Pittman of Greenville; his father, George Pittman Sr. of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Johnny (Rosie) Eaton of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Derrick D. Pittman of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Alisa Pittman and Jackie Pittman, both of Houston, Texas; four nieces; six nephews; five aunts; 12 uncles; and a host of cousins and friends.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.
