GREENVILLE —Funeral services for Robert Lee “Pooh Nanny” Pittman Sr., 59, of Greenville will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Grace Outreach Bible Church, Greenville. He died Aug. 14, 2000 at his home. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
Survivors include a devoted wife, Willie Mae Pittman of Greenville; five daughters, Barbara Crew of Chicago, Ill., Genatry Denise Pittman, Josephine Pittman, and Stephanie Pittman, all of Marion, Ohio, and Carmela Gail Pittman of Greenville; one stepdaughter, Toni (Willie) Britt of Greenville; two sons, Robert Pittman of Columbus, Ohio, and Eddie Page of Arcola; one stepson, Timothy Jones of Greenville; four sisters, Mary Maxwell of Sun City, Calif., Ida Mae Wilson of Pontiac, Mich., Georgia Lee Love of St. Louis, Mo., and Laura Ann Smith of Arcola; three brothers, L.B. Pittman and Willie James Pittman, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Eddie Lee Pittman of Greenville; 19 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a special niece, Tangi Smith of Arcola; and a very very special nephew, Willie “Sambo” Smith of Arcola.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pastor Ruben Lewis will officiate.

STANTON

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Hubert Eugene “Gene” Stanton, 58, of Greenville, a retired mechanic, will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. He died of heart failure Aug. 16, 2000 at his home.
Mr. Stanton was born April 27, 1942, at Colt, Ark., to the late Oscar and Violet Stanton. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, and he attended Glen Allan public schools. He was employed with Washington County as a mechanic until ill health forced him to retire. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Roberta Long and Mary Helen Jones; and one brother, Edward Stanton.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen Miers of Holland, Mich., Jeanie Marie Dobbs Rodgers of Little Rock, Ark., Debra Percival of New Melle, Mo., and Wendy Beth Davis of Little Rock, Ark.; three sisters, Geneva Clegg Landry of Glen Allan, Linda Joswick of Gowen, Mich., and Betty Luke of Pulaski, Tenn.; one brother, Bailey Stanton of Glen Allan; a special friend, Sarah Marie Stanton of Greenville; and five grandchildren, Brett Parkerson, Gage Dobbs, Tyler Dobbs, Lindsey Percival, and Blake Percival.
Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Rev. Charles Jolly will officiate.

STEPHENS

INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Earnestine F. Stephens, 84, of Indianola will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive MB Church in the Stephensville community. She died Aug. 14, 2000, at Methodist Hospital, Memphis. Burial will be in Boyer Cemetery, Stephensville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.
Survivors include seven sons, Eugene Stephens of Nashville, Sylvester (Joyce) Stephens and Frederick (Gwen) Stephens, both of Los Angeles, Roy (Freddie) Stephens of Chicago, James (Eva) Stephens and Mac Arthur (Josie) Stephens, both of Indianola, and Aaron (Dupree) Stephens of Morton; six daughters, Lorrdine Lathan and Minnie (Marvin) Smith, both of Los Angeles, Bettye White of Milwaukee, Janette Williams of Memphis, Susie Richard of Nashville, and Mildred Jones of Indianola; 53 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m., with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m., at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.
The Rev. Ellis Johnson will officiate.

THOMAS

BENOIT —Funeral services for Purcell Thomas, 41, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Benoit will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gazie MB Church, Stringtown. He died Aug. 9, 2000 at Berkshire Manor, North Miami, Fla. Burial will be in Old Morning Star Cemetery, Benoit, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

WATKINS

YAZOO CITY — Funeral services for Evelena Watkins, 90, of Yazoo City will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Little Mt. Zion MB Church, Silver City. She died of heart failure Aug. 15, 2000, at Yazoo City Health and Rehabilitation Center, Yazoo City. Burial will be in Belwood Cemetery, Silver City, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Belzoni.
She is survived by one brother, Chester Brooks of Detroit.
Visitation will be today from noon to 5 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, and Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at Little Mt. Zion MB Church.
Pastor C.W. Ray will officiate.

KING

HOLLANDALE — Funeral arrangements for Robert “Bob” King, age unavailable, of Hollandale are pending at Sanders Funeral Home, Hollandale. He died Oct. 14, 2000, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.

LAWLER

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Patricia A. Lawler, 69, of Greenville will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Greenville. She died of heart failure Oct. 14, 2000, at her home. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery, Stoneville, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Lawler was born Dec. 23, 1930 to Joseph R. and Theresa Smollin Amadei in Little Ferry, N.J.
After graduating high school, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After her basic training in Texas, she was stationed in Cheyenne Wyo., where she met her husband, Charles Lawler, on Oct. 7, 1950. They were engaged a week later and married on Nov. 6, 1950.
After their tour of duty, the Lawlers made their home in the Mississippi Delta. After 50 years together, Pat and Charles renewed their wedding vows Oct. 10, 2000, at their home with Father Richard Somers.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Theresa Amadei, and her brother, James Amadei.
A devoted wife and mother, Pat will be greatly remembered by her survivors.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Charles Lawler Sr. of Greenville; one son, Charles Stephen (Dottie) Lawler Jr. of North Platte, Neb.; three daughters, Patricia (Mike) Davis and Fran (Buddy) Pate, both of Greenville, and Kathleen Rouse of North Platte, Neb.; one brother, Joseph R. Amadei of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Marie Miller of Bloomingburg, N.Y., and Fran Henrikson of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren, Sandi Rouse of San Diego, Calif., Jennifer (Spencer) Bale of North Platte, Neb., and Mike Davis, Chad Davis and Beth Pate, all of Greenville; and one great-grandchild, Sheldon Bale of North Platte, Neb.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary to be said at 7 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Greenville.
Father Richard Somers will officiate.

ROSS

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Eula Courtney Ross, 102, of Rolling Fork will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sanders Funeral Home chapel, Hollandale. She died Oct. 13, 2000, at Sharkey Issaquena Hospital, Rolling Fork. Burial will be in New Hope Church Cemetery.
Survivors include one niece, Barbara (A.J.) Winding of Hollandale; a sister-in-law, Mamie Percy of Leland; a brother-in-law, James Washington of Arcola; 21 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and cousins.
The Rev. O.C. Peace Jr. will officiate.

CORTRIGHT

LELAND — Funeral services for Tecumseh Blaine “Peck” Cortright, 78, of Leland will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Frye Funeral Home, Leland. He died Nov. 2, 2000, in Metroplex Hospital, Killeen, Texas. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home MB Church Cemetery, Leland.
Mr. Cortright was born June 13, 1922, in Rolling Fork. He was raised and educated in Leland. He married Ruth Hopkins on Nov. 13, 1953, in Leland. He served in the armed forces during World War II. He also worked at Leland Oil Works for more than 30 years until his retirement.
Mr. Cortright is survived by one daughter, Wadean (Kevin) Booker of Carbondale, Ill.; four sons, Lucky (Deborah) Jenkins of Leesburg, Fla., Ronald Williams of South Bend, Ind., George Ira (Margaret) Cortright of Kansas City, Mo., and Blaine (Patricia) Cortright of Copperas Cove, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

RODGERS

BELZONI — Funeral services for Mandy Rodgers, 69, of Belzoni will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive MB Church, Isola. She died of heart failure Nov. 3, 2000, at her home. Burial will be in Mt. Olive MB Church Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Belzoni.
Survivors include her husband, Ollie Rodgers; one daughter, Mary Toy of Belzoni; two brothers, Willie Toy and Andrew Toy, both of Belzoni; three sisters, Sally Mae Mallard Lloyd, Wilella Brown and Sarah Young, all of Belzoni; one grandson, Terry Toy of Belzoni; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from noon to 5 p.m., with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home chapel.

WILLIAMS

SHAW — Funeral arrangements for Jessie Bell Williams, 78, of Shaw are pending at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Nov. 4, 2000, at her home.
