Gonzalez

GREENVILLE — Graveside services for Moses Guadalupe Gonzalez Sr., 57, of Greenville will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Greenville Cemetery. He died of heart failure July 31, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Gonzalez was born in Mercedes, Texas. He moved to Lake Village, Ark., and later made his home in Greenville, where he was a welder.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Adams Gonzalez of Greenville; two daughters, Nettie "Toni" Gonzalez Tatum of Long Beach, Miss., and Monica Gonzalez Long of Tupelo; two sons, Moses G. Gonzalez Jr. and Travis H. Gonzalez, both of Greenville; three sisters, Eva Denman of Houston, Texas, Rachael Henera of Weslaco, Texas and Elizabeth Jacquez of Mercedes, Texas; five brothers, Aaron Gonzalez Sr. of Houston, Texas, Adam Gonzalez Sr. of Greenville, Danny Gonzalez of Dallas, and Joe DeLaFuente and Cruz DeLaFuente, both of Mercedes, Texas; and four grandchildren, Breanna M. Tatum, Dakota Tatum, Christian Gonzalez and Autmn Gonzalez.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

Hall

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Johnathan Hall, 57, of Greenville will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Mariah MB Church, Greenville. He died July 28, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home chapel. The body will lie in state at the church Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The Rev. M.J. Dean will officiate.

Henry

BLAINE — Funeral services or John Paul Henry, 74, of Blaine and formerly of Pine Bluff, Ark., will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Holmes Chapel Baptist Church, Drew. He died July 30, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Garden, Indianola, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

Survivors include his mother, Lillie Mae Lockett Hawthorne of Bastrop, La.; five sons, Ray Anthony Henry, Kevin L. Henry and Anthony S. Henry, all of Chicago, Marcus Henry of Oxford, Wis., and Tavares Henry of Ruleville; six daughters, Doris Henry, Linda F. Henry and Teresa Henry, all of Chicago, Krystal Henry of Ruleville, Pauline H. Ross of Blaine and Lillie Lane of Pine Bluff, Ark.; 27 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

Pastor Carolyn Kidd will officiate.

Lindsey

INDIANOLA — Funeral arrangements for Sophia Lindsey, 89, of Indianola are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola. She died Aug. 1, 2002, at her home.

Minniefield

BELZONI — Funeral services for Terry P. Minniefield, 50, of Belzoni will be Saturday at noon at Green Grove MB Church, Belzoni. He died of heart failure July 30, 2002, at Mississippi Baptist Hospital, Jackson. Burial will be in Humphreys County Memorial Garden, Belzoni, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Belzoni.

Survivors include his father and mother, Morris Griffin and Bessie Ree Thurman, both of Belzoni; three brothers, Lonnie Thurman of Jonesboro, Ga., and Tommie Thurman and Mervin Thurman, both of Belzoni; and five sisters, Joann Thomas and Ethel Thurman, both of Chicago, Cassandra Thurman of Dolton, Ill., Venessa Thurman of Belzoni and Lenika Thurman of Memphis.

Visitation will be today from noon to 5 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Belzoni. The body will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The Rev. Louis Logo of Chicago will officiate.

Mitchell

ROSEDALE — Funeral arrangements for Robert C. Mitchell, age unavailable, are pending at Bea's Century Funeral Home, Greenville. He died July 31, 2002, in Rosedale.

Pointer

INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Edward Pointer Jr., 13, of Indianola will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at Sunrise MB Church, Tralake. He died July 30, 2002, at North Sunflower County Hospital, Ruleville. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Edward was a student at the Robert L. Merritt Middle School in Indianola.

Survivors include his father, Edward Pointer Sr. of Talladega, Ala.; his mother, Evone Bell of Indianola; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Lillie Douglas of Arcola.; his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Fannie Taylor of Talladega, Ala.; five brothers, Marvin Douglas, Mervin Bell and Christopher Bell, all of Indianola, Talmige Bell Jr. of Oak Grove, Ky., and Kelvin Pointer of Quitman, Miss.; two sisters, Courtney Bell of Indianola and Karen Pointer-Gould of Chicago; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

The Rev. Willie Frazier will officiate.

Spellman

MOORHEAD — Funeral services for Eugene Spellman Sr., 50, of Moorhead will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Higher Heights Church, Moorhead. He died July 27, 2002, at South Sunflower County Hospital, Indianola. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Moorhead, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Spellman of Moorhead; four sons, Terry Spellman, Eugene Spellman Jr., and Tyrone Spellman, all of Moorhead, and Geanie Spellman of Chicago; two daughters, Tywanda Spellman and Colandra Spellman, both of Moorhead; two brothers, Charles Spellman and Willie Fred Cole Jr., both of Yazoo City; one sister, Bertha Spellman of Moorhead; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Pastor Gary Perryman will officiate.

Brown

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Vickie Lynn Borough Brown, 47, of Greenville will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Greenville. She died of cancer Dec. 18, 2002, at her home. Local arrangements are under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mrs. Brown was marketing manager at Jubilee Casino in Greenville. She was married for 26 years to Jim Brown. She was born in Tiffin, Ohio, and grew up at Old Fort, Ohio. She graduated from Old Fort High School in 1973 and received a degree in criminal justice from Toledo University in 1975. She had lived in Greenville since 1991; in Birmingham, Ala., from 1986 to 1991; and in Evansville, Ind., from 1983 to 1986.

Survivors include her husband, James "Jim' Patrick Brown of Greenville; one daughter, Jamie Suzanne Brown of Greenville; one son, Nicholas Richard Brown of Greenville; her parents, Richard L. Borough and Eileen L. Borough of Tiffin, Ohio; and one sister, Teresa Kirby of Tiffin, Ohio.

A prayer services will be Friday at 5:30 p.m., with visitation from 6 to 7 p.m., at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville.

Father Richard Somers will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School Building Fund or the M.D. Anderson Volunteer Services.

Collins

GREENVILLE -- Funeral arrangements for Christopher Dewayne Collins, 34, of Greenville are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Dec. 17, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.

Flemmons

CLEVELAND -- Funeral services for Winnie Smith Flemmons, 70, of Cleveland will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Cleveland. She died Dec. 18, 2002, in Memphis. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery, Tunica, under the direction of Ray Funeral Home, Cleveland.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Rev. Danny Powell and the Rev. Milton Burd will officiate.

Fulton

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Leon "Billy" Fulton, 80, of Greenville will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Balls Temple AME Church, Greenville. He died Dec. 15, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville.

Leon was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Greenville, Miss., to Willie Bertyne Scott and Robert Fulton. He was a graduate of Coleman High School class of 1943. Borden Co. employed him for 46 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ella Fulton; a brother, Charles Edward Smith; and a sister, Gladys "Molly" Gooden.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby D. (Annie Pearl) Fulton Sr. of Detroit and Bradford L. (Ann Marie) Fulton Sr. of Pontiac, Mich.; three daughters, Beverly G. (F.L.) McGoy of Houston, Texas, and Brenda J. (David) Poke and Ruby (Leon) Rodgers, both of Greenville; two brothers, William Earl Scott of Oakland, Calif., and James (Marjorie) Scott of Duncan, Okla.; one sister-in-law, Evangeline Green of Houston, Texas; one devoted cousin, the Rev. Arnell Smith; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a godson, Trevor Lowe; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville.

The remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The Rev. Alfred J. Parnell will officiate.
