GREENVILLE — Graveside services for Lillie Mozell Burton, 92, of Greenville, a retired cafeteria manager for the Greenville public schools, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville. She died of heart failure Aug. 15, 2003, at Glenwood Hospital, West Monroe, La. Burial will be under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville.

She was born in Kilmichael, Miss., and was a member of the Swiftwater Baptist Church in Greenville. She worked for the Greenville public schools for 23 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Gene Burton; a son, Billy Burton and two daughters, Dot Roden and Sandra Holland.

Survivors include two daughters, Janette Shaffer of Hattiesburg and Earline Doan of Largo, Fla.; a son, Sonny Burton of Killeen, Texas; a sister, Betty York of St. Louis, Mo.; a brothers, Floyd Holloway of Guy, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville.

Clark

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Leroy "D.D." Clark, 65, of Chicago and formerly of Rolling Fork will be Monday at noon at Mt. Lula MB Church, Rolling Fork. He died Aug. 13, 2003, at his home. Burial will be in St. Peter Church Cemetery, Mayersville, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork.

Survivors include his wife, Silas Ann Clark of Chicago; five sons, Aubrey (Linda) Morganfield of San Antonio, Harlem Morganfield of Rolling Fork, and Kent (Myra) Clark, Charles (Judy) Clark and Calvin Clark, all of Chicago; two daughters, Vivian Ann Clark of Chicago and Narvis (Gutierrez) Clark Bonner; two sisters, Channie Reed and Mary Woods, both of Memphis; 33 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Gates

CLEVELAND — Funeral services for Willie B. Gates, 48, of Cleveland were Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest MB Church, Cleveland. He died Aug. 13, 2003, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial was in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Skene, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland.

Survivors include his mother, Marie Sharp of Cleveland; one sister, Gail Winston of Cleveland; and one brother, James Gates of Cleveland.

The Rev. Freddie Wince officiated.

Gilmore

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Tommy Gilmore, 82, of Greenville are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Aug. 15, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.

Morgan

RULEVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Prince Ella Morgan, 47, of Ruleville are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville. She died Aug. 15, 2003, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland.

Nalls

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Tommy Lee Nalls, 50, of Greenville are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Aug. 16, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.

Phillips

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Grace Edwards Phillips, 81, of Greenville will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. She died of heart failure Aug. 16, 2003, at her home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.

She was born March 10, 1922, in Carroll County, Miss., where she received her education. She and her husband, George Edwards, who preceded her in death, moved to Greenville in 1948. She began her career at Greenville Mill in the early 1950s, retiring in the late 1980s. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, George and Charles Huggins, and three sisters, Addie Lee Downs, Katie Chambers and Margaret Watkins.

Survivors include a son, George Pat Edwards of Greenville; a brother, John O. Huggins of Greenville; and a host of nieces and nephews who were very special to her.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

Pinkins

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Josephine Pinkins, 68, of Rolling Fork will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Lula MB Church, Rolling Fork. She died Aug. 13, 2003, at University Medical Center, Jackson. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Rolling Fork, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar G. Pinkins Sr. of Rolling Fork; four sons, Edgar (Billie Jean) Pinkins Jr., Nathaniel (Annie) Pinkins, Sylvester (Jennifer) Pinkins and Claude (Sarah) Hayes, all of Rolling Fork; seven daughters, Luella (Herbert) Brown, Claretta Hite, Juanita (Alfred) Jackson, Willie M. (Freddie) Jackson, Vanalean (Henry) Dennis and Patricia Pinkins, all of Rolling Fork, and Rosetta (Roderick) Fisher of East St. Louis, Ill.; her stepmother, Maberta Booker of Waukegan, Ill.; seven brothers, James Ratcliff Jr., David Booker and Dave Booker, all of Rolling Fork, Jeffery McBride of Waukegan, Ill., and Larry Booker, Floyd Booker and Michael McBride, all of Kenosha, Wis.; five sisters, Georgia (John) Brazille and Odell Bell, both of Zion, Ill., Edra Stewart of Waukegan, Ill., Claudine Thompson of Kenosha, Wis., and Theresa (John) Price of North Chicago; 45 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one uncle, Calvin Wilson of Chicago; and a special friend, Alice Moffett of Rolling Fork.

Tyler

LELAND — Funeral arrangements for Houston A. Tyler, 67, of Leland are pending at Smith Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Aug. 16, 2003, at Bolivar Health & Rehab Center, Cleveland.

Watson

ANGUILLA — Funeral services for Charley L. Watson, 46, of Racine, Wis., will be today at 2 p.m. at Christian Light MB Church, Anguilla. He died Aug. 7, 2003, in Racine. Burial will be in Cynthia Anna Cemetery, Anguilla, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Belzoni.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Watson of Racine, Wis.; four sons, Charles Junior Powell, Norris Tremaine Powell, Clarence Green and Christopher Green, all of Racine, Wis.; four daughters, Kizzy Canon, Deborah Watson, Sharon Williams and Monique Green, all of Racine, Wis.; 10 brothers, James Johnson of Hollandale, Larry Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas, Henry L. Johnson and James L. Williams, both of Jackson, Sullivan Johnson of Greenville, Robert Johnson and Kendrick Johnson, both of Anguilla, Fredrick Johnson of Darrien, Ill., Albert Williams of Chicago and Jerry Williams of Rolling Fork; and four sisters, Annie L. Johnson and Mary Stewart, both of Anguilla, and Betty J. Bankhead and Esther Williams, both of Jackson.

Visitation will be today from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Farmer

AVON -- Funeral services for Thomas Jefferson Farmer, 75, retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. He died of heart failure Nov. 24, 2001, at Regional Medical Center, Memphis. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, with military rites.

Mr. Farmer was a native of Vaiden, Miss., where he received his education. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941, and served during World War II. He received the Purple Heart, European African Middle Eastern Service medal, American Service medal, American Defense Service medal, World War II Victory medal, and by direction of the president, a Bronze Star medal was awarded. He received the National Defense Service medal, United National Service medal, Korean Service medal with two BCS and one Bronze Camp Star during the Korean conflict. He was discharged in 1955. He joined the Corps of Engineers and served from 1958 to 1988. He was a resident of Greenville most of his life, and he was a member of Alexander Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Farmer of Avon; three daughters, Brenda Lewis of Rome, Ga., Mary Ellen Dycus of Greenville and Jimmie Nell Dudley of Newport News, Va.; four sisters, Nellie Runnels of Greenville, Susie Davey of Waldorf, Md., Minnie Lagrange of Marrero, La., and Helen Chambliss of Fountain Valley, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

Gordon

GLEN ALLAN -- Funeral services for Leeanna Willis Gordon, 79, of Glen Allan, will be today at 1 p.m. at St. Peter MB Church, Glen Allan. She died Nov. 19, 2001, at Arnold Avenue Nursing Home, Greenville. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Glen Allan, under the direction of Harris-Brown & Marion Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mrs. Leanna Willis Gordon was born Feb. 2, 1922, to the late John Willis and Georgianna Flowers Willis of Fitler, Miss. She was the baby of 10 children, who all preceded her in death, Nick, Walter, Eugene, Emery, Sam, Earnest, Auther, Mary and America Willis. After losing her parents at an early age, she was raised by her oldest brother and sister-in-law, the late Nick Willis and Mrs. Pankie Willis. She accepted Christ at an early age. She joined St. Peter MB Church and was a faithful member until her health failed. On Aug. 14, 1941, she was united in holy matrimony to Williams "Snookum" Gordon Sr. Through three years, they raised three children and their three grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted and loving children, Georgianna (Leroy) Williams, Dorothy "Dollbaby" (Manuel) Wilson, both of Glen Allan, William "June Bug" (Lurlene) Gordon Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three grandchildren whom she raised, Sandra (Glen) Shelton, Jacqueline (Jesse) Humphrey and Richard (Melissa) Charles, all of Glen Allan; one stepdaughter, Alice Perrymon of Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Pankie Willis and Mary Devine, both of Glen Allan; 23 grandchildren, Larry, Brenda and Elaine Williams, Gregory, Olivia, Odessa and William Gordon III, Timothy Wilks, Stephanie Nimmons and Christopher Canty, all of Brooklyn, N.Y., Tanya Williams of Virginia, Keisha Williams of North Carolina, Fabian Thomas, Kizzy, Sedaris and Donald Williams, all of Glen Allan, Lore, Gail and Margaret Childs of Little Rock, Ark., Ilene Child of Memphis, Carl Perrymon of California, and Jackie and Towanda Child of Greenville; 52 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jackson

CLEVELAND -- Funeral arrangements for LeJuan Terell Jackson, 19, of Dallas and formerly of Cleveland, are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland. He died Nov. 24, 2001, at Charlton Methodist Hospital, Dallas.

Jarmon

GREENVILLE -- Funeral arrangements for Oscar Jarmon, 31, of Dallas, are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Nov. 21, 2001, at Mesquite Community Hospital, Mesquite, Texas.

Owens

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for John "Dude" Owens, 84, of Greenville, will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at New Jerusalem MB Church, Greenville. He died Nov. 23, 2001, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Frye Funeral Home, Leland.

Mr. Owens was the owner of Owens Plumbing for over 55 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Agnes Hunter Owens; a daughter, Vera Owens Hobbs; his parents, Joe and Magetta Owens; two brothers, Joe and T.C. Owens; and two sisters, Illinois Owens and Irene O. Griffin.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Jo Anne Owens Addison and Gail Lynn Owens, both of Greenville and Agnes Stacie Owens of Lawrenceville, Ga.; one son, John Victor Owens of Dallas; four granddaughters; six grandsons; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church.

Dr. Jesse H. Jackson will officiate.

Reed

CLEVELAND -- Funeral arrangements for Delores Reed, 47, of Cleveland are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland. She died Nov. 25, 2001, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland.
