Ransom
GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Charles Ransom, 66, of Greenville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Kindling Star MB Church, Greenville. He died Aug. 30, 2001, at his home. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mr. Ransom was born in Marks, Miss., on June 25, 1935, to Louise Ransom and Nelson Shegog.
He confessed Christ at an early age at St. John Church and later joined Kindling Star under the leadership of the Rev. Warnell Smith until his death on Aug. 30, 2001.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Dorsey, and his father, Nelson Shegog.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 28 years, Bertha C. Ransom; three daughters, Patricia L. Casimir of Miramar, Fla., and Glenda (Gerald) Smith and Jonena (Peter) Clay, both of Greenville; four sisters, Earnestine Anderson, Ruby McClendon, Lou Ethel Shegog and Mary Alice Northington, all of Chicago; one brother, Willie Wesley of Chicago; two stepsisters, Deborah Y. Gray and Willette Quinn, both of Greenville; three stepbrothers, Andrew Hendricks and Darrell Young, both of Greenville, and Robert K. Young of Greenville, S.C.; eight grandchildren; one special grandson, Manuel Delego of Florida; two aunts, Marianna Woods of Chicago and Willie Mae Dupree of Philadelphia, Pa.; two uncles, Frank Ransom of Marks and John Ransom of Chicago; a special cousin reared as a sister, Ernestine Proby of Belzoni; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville.

Skipper
GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Mary L. Skipper, 79, of Greenville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Mt. Zion MB Church, Greenville. She died Aug. 31, 2001, at Methodist South Hospital, Memphis. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
Survivors include one daughter, the Rev. Hattie Thompson of Memphis; four grandchildren. Daryl Ray Thompson, Faye J. Thompson and Marilyn T. Grayer, all of Memphis, and Major Ralph Thompson Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Fallon Christina Thompson and Reginald Dupree Thompson, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Donald Sinclair Grayer of Memphis; one sister, Cora Mays of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.

Bolton
HATTIESBURG -- Funeral arrangements for Paul Bolton, 36, of Hattiesburg, a member of the Bolton Brothers singing group, are pending at Century Funeral Home, Hattiesburg. He died Nov. 23, 2001, of injuries sustained in a truck accident near Meridian.
Alexander
HOLLANDALE — Funeral services for Willie Roy Alexander, 54, of Hollandale will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Simmons High School, Hollandale. He died April 3, 2002, in Hollandale. Burial will be in Sanders Memorial Gardens, Hollandale, under the direction of Sanders-Byas Funeral Home, Hollandale.
Survivors include one special friend, Carolyn Beasley of Hollandale; four daughters, Sharon Alexander Williams of Memphis, Charlene Dennis and Chell Dennis, both of Atlanta, and Tameka Beasley of Hollandale; five sons, Willie Alexander Jr. and Terry Alexander, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Quinton Williams of Memphis, Roderick Dennis of Atlanta and Rydell Atkins of Hollandale; five sisters, Thelma Cotton of St. Louis, Mo., Emma Graham of Hampton, S.C., Annie Dennard and Rosie Davis, both of Hollandale, and Martha Hogan of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and three brothers, Willie Johnson of Hollandale, Selma Alexander Jr. of Key Largo, Fla., and Elijah Alexander of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and 19 grandchildren.

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Kendrick Orlando "Ko Ko" Carter Jr., five months, of Rolling Fork, will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Shiloh MB Church, Rolling Fork. He died April 5, 2002, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Rolling Fork, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork.
Survivors include his father, Kendrick Orlando Carter Sr.; his mother, Reshonda Renea Larry of Rolling Fork; his grandmother, Mariah Larry of Rolling Fork; and one brother, Larobert Rosharn Larry of Rolling Fork.

INVERNESS — Funeral services for Charles Dumas, 79, of Inverness will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at Hayes Chapel of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola. He died April 7, 2002, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital, Greenwood. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Garden, Indianola.
Survivors include three sons, Jozell Townsend, Tommie Plummer and Matthew Plummer, all of Indianola; two daughters, Diane Townsend of Waukegan, Ill., and Rosie Davis of Indianola; and six grandchildren.

INDIANOLA — Funeral services for James Henry Fair, 64, of Milwaukee, Wis., and formerly of Indianola will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greater New Jerusalem Church of God In Christ, Indianola. He died April 7, 2002, at Clemmons J. Zabloski Veterans Hospital, Milwaukee. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Garden, Indianola, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.
Survivors include his former wife, Jessie Bush-Fair of Los Angeles; his parents, James and Beatrice Fair of Indianola; two sons, Terrence L. Fair of Los Angeles and James D. Harrison
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Betty C. Harrison, 62, of Greenville, a retired registered nurse, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. She died of cancer April 10, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.
She worked for Delta Regional Medical Center as a nurse for more than 30 years.
Survivors include her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Simpson of Greenville; two cousins, Melissa S. Rushing of Brandon, Miss., and Billy Simpson of Greenville; one niece, Pamela VanDeValde of Silver City, N.M.; and one sister, Elizabeth Keadle of Alamogordo, N.M.

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Sharonda Monique Johnson, 23, of Greenville will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul MB Church, Greenville. She died April 5, 2002, at Chicot Memorial Hospital, Lake Village, Ark. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Metcalfe, under the direction of Harris, Brown & Marion Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearlie Mae Johnson; and her grandfather, Roosevelt T. Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Erick M. Cross Jr.; one daughter, Ashley M. Cross; a loving grandmother, Pearlie Johnson; one brother, Albert Davis; one sister, Breanna Brown; one uncle, Willie James Johnson; a very devoted friend, Erick Cross Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Edward G. Robinson, 56, of East St. Louis, Ill., and formerly of Rolling Fork, a bus driver, will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Lula MB Church, Rolling Fork. He died April 4, 2002, in East St. Louis. Burial will be in Green Chapel Cemetery, Rolling Fork, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork.
Survivors include his father, Pastor Issac Robinson of Rolling Fork; two sons, Victor Brooks of Bloomington, Ill., and Gregory Scott of East St. Louis, Ill.; one daughter, Denise Robinson of Chicago; three brothers, Issac Robinson Jr. of Greenville, and James (Mary) Robinson and Jackie (Ethel) Robinson, both of Rolling Fork; five sisters, Annie Winder of Arlington, Texas, Hazel Rogers of Radcliff, Ky., Velma (Donney) Whitney and Nona Jones, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Deborah (Joseph) Anderson of Rolling Fork.
