INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Eula Edwards, 91, of Indianola will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary MB Church, Indianola. She died Oct. 10, 2002, at South Sunflower County Hospital, Indianola. Burial will be in Holly Ridge Cemetery, Holly Ridge, under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Indianola.

Survivors include five sons, Isom Shaver Jr. of Homestead, Fla., Arthur Shaver Sr. of Columbus, Ohio, and Cornelius Shaver Sr., James Edwards and Christopher Edwards, all of Indianola; one stepdaughter, Lucie Mae Williams of Cleveland, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur Davis of Gary, Ind.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Dillon Funeral Home, Indianola.

The Rev. Ollie Blake will officiate.

Griffin

MOUND BAYOU — Funeral arrangements for Annie C. McKinney Griffin, age unavailable, of Mound Bayou are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Shelby. She died Oct. 16, 2002, in Chicago.

Griffin

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Louise Griffin, 90, of Greenville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem MB Church, Greenville. She died Oct. 10, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include one stepdaughter, Shirley Hawkins of Las Vegas; one brother-in-law, John Boyd of Greenville; six nieces, including a special niece, Earlene (Paul) Stewart of Greenville, and Virginia (Curtis) Hall, Georgia Ann (Virgil) Peters, Catherine Boyd, Lillian (Paul) Rhodes and Johnnie Mae Boyd, all of Las Vegas; three nephews, including a special nephew, Charlie Perry of Chicago, John Boyd Jr. of Greenville and Joe Louis Boyd of Las Vegas; a special friend, Marie Freeman of Greenville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. The remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Dr. Jesse Jackson will officiate.

Hamilton

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Milton Hamilton Jr., 62, of Greenville will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at New White Stone MB Church, Greenville. He died Oct. 14, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Hamilton was a retiree of Utility Products. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Hamilton Sr., and his mother, Mary Hamilton; two brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred L. Tramble Hamilton of Greenville; three brothers, Charles Hamilton of Greenville, and Chester Hamilton and Bobbie Hamilton, both of Los Angeles; three sisters, Queen Hamilton and Nanette Hamilton, both of Greenville, and Barbara Hamilton of Jackson, Miss.; six sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.

The Rev. David Rawls will officiate.

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Mary Hollins, 92, of Rolling Fork are pending at Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork. She died Oct. 15, 2002, at Sharkey Issaquena Hospital, Rolling Fork.

ROLLING FORK — Funeral arrangements for Richard Houzah, 47, of Rolling Fork are pending at Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork. He died Oct. 16, 2002, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson.

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Lucille Watkins Howell, 87, of Greenville are pending at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Oct. 16, 2002, in Greenville.

Kennedy

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for George Kennedy, 62, of Greenville, a retired truck driver, will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at New Jerusalem MB Church, Greenville. He died Oct. 14, 2002, at The King's Daughters Hospital, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Kennedy was a retried truck driver for Lewis Grocer Co.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Kennedy of Greenville; four sons, George (Linda) Kennedy Jr. of Indianola, Charlie (Doris) Kennedy and Joseph (Patricia) Kennedy, both of Las Vegas, and Galen (Yvonne) Johnson of Atlanta; four daughters, Claudia (Kenneth) Smith of Atlanta, and Carolyn Armstead, Meredith "Yvette" Kennedy and Francena Kennedy, all of Greenville; eight sisters, Hazel Ratcliff and Carlotta Henry, both of Detroit, Dorothy Coleman, Dianne Tousaint and Beverly Jones, all of New Orleans, Maggie Baldridge and Susie Johnson, both of Greenville, and Gloria Jacobs of Bellgrade, Fla.; two brothers, Caleb Jones Jr. of New Orleans and Robert Kennedy of Greenwood; 16 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 p.m., with family hour from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.

Dr. Jesse Jackson will officiate.

Kirk

INDIANOLA — Funeral arrangements for Earnestine Kirk, 65, of Indianola are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola. She died Oct. 16, 2002, at her home.

Miller

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Funeral arrangements for Lonzo Miller, 75, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Oct. 14, 2002, at Bougainvilla Hospice, Fort Lauderdale.

Turnbull

DETROIT — Funeral services for James Turnbull, 83, of Detroit and formerly of Greenville, Miss., will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill MB Church, Detroit. He died Oct. 12, 2002, at Kindred Hospital, Lincoln Park, Mich. Burial will be under the direction of Fields Funeral Home & Associates, Detroit.

Mr. Turnbull was born in Greenville, Miss., in 1919, to the late Jake and Francis Turnbull. He attended Greenville public schools. He moved to Detroit in 1967. His wife, Alice Turnbull, preceded him in death.

Survivors include one sister, Florida Jackson of Greenville; one brother, Albert Turnbull of Chicago; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

Pastor Lamar Smith will officiate.

White

BELZONI — Funeral services for Larry White, 45, of Belzoni, a construction worker, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Daybreak MB Church, Belzoni. He died if heart failure Oct. 11, 2002, at his home. Burial will be in New Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Belzoni, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Belzoni.

Survivors include one son, Tracy D. Day of Milwaukee; one daughter, Ann Marie Day of Milwaukee; his mother, Lorene Jefferson of Belzoni; five brothers, Barry White, Timothy White and Leroy Williams, all of Belzoni, and Demetrius Jefferson and Calvin Jefferson, both of Chicago; and 10 sisters, Debra Jefferson, Yulanda Jefferson, Jacqueline J. Sanders, Lisa Clincy and La Shonya White, all of Belzoni, Janice White of Greenwood, Annie Pearl Dwight of Calumet, Ill., Mary Ann Berry of Indianapolis, and Vicky Williams and Dorothy Williams, both of Milwaukee.

Visitation will be Friday from noon to 5 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Belzoni.

The Rev. Clinton Simpson will officiate.

Williams

ROSEDALE — Funeral services for Theresa J. Williams, 77, of Rosedale will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at The Lively Stone Church of Rosedale. She died Oct. 14, 2002, at her home. Burial will be in Martin Cemetery, Rosedale, under the direction of T.L. Redmon Funeral Home, Cleveland.

Survivors include her husband, Wash Williams of Rosedale; five sons, Sanders Williams and Oscar Lee Williams, both of Cleveland, Alfred Williams of Greenville, Herbert Williams of Memphis and Calvin Williams of Newport News, Va.; four daughters, Helen Williams and Bobby Fortney, both of Rosedale, Rhubirda Drummer of Houston, Texas, and Theresa Banks of Detroit; one sister, Mildred Stafford of Rosedale; one stepbrother, James Williams Sr. of Memphis; 29 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m., with a wake from 6 to 7 p.m., at T.L. Redmon Funeral Home, Cleveland.

Elder Paul Williams will officiate.

Abney

RULEVILLE -- Funeral services for Dorothy Abney, 65, of Ruleville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Byas Funeral Home chapel, Ruleville. She died Dec. 9, 2002, at North Sunflower County Hospital, Ruleville. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Ruleville.

Survivors include three sisters, Alice Green, Donna Green and Corrine Green, all of Cleveland; two brothers, Jerome Green and Curtis Green, both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

The Rev. H. Simmons will officiate.

INDIANOLA -- Funeral services for Leon Cole, 62, of Indianola will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Swan Lake MB Church, Indianola. He died Dec. 6, 2002, near Moorhead. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Garden, Indianola, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Survivors include his mother, Callie Cole of Indianola; wife, Lora Robinson of Indianola; a special friend, Hardy Mae Pitts of Moorhead; six sons, Milton Profit, Charles Profit, Lorenzo Profit, Leon Profit and Freddie Profit, all of Miami, Fla., and Richard Profit of Gainesville, Fla.; two daughters, Verlean Weaver of Gainesville, Fla. and Patricia Profit of Millburn, Fla.; 10 brothers, Cornelius Cole, Billy Joe Cole, Leroy (Catherine) Cole, all of Indiana, Brownie (Bonnie) Cole and Dale Moore, both of Winona, Marion (Pearl) Cole of Camden, Ark., the Rev. Herman (Amanda) Cole of Itta Bena, Lewis (Doris) Cole of Jackson and Arthur (Anna) of New Orleans and Willie Cole, both of Los Angeles; five sisters, Dorothy (Vernon) Clark of St. Louis, Mo., Thelma Hunter of Indianola, Bertha (David) Williams of Dallas, and Sallie (Willie Mack) Hudson and Barbara Wright, both of Memphis; and 20 grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m., with family hour from 7 to 8, at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.
