LELAND — Funeral services for Calvin "Roy" Dallas, 34, of Leland will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter MB Church, Leland. He died June 2, 2002, at his home. Burial will be in Bogue Memorial Gardens, Leland, under the direction of Frye Funeral Home, Leland.

Calvin was born July 12, 1967, in Wilmot, Miss., to Willie Mae Bernard and Frank Dallas. He was baptized by the Rev. Billy D. Robinson at Mt. Ararat MB Church, Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Isabell Bernard-Jones and Elizabeth Redfield.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and caring mother, Willie Mae Bernard of Leland; his dear twin sister, Carolyn Dallas of Leland; six brothers, Willie (Janice) Bernard and Ronnie (Latasha) Bernard, both of Greenville, Frank (Dianne) Bernard of Chicago, Terry (Carrie) Bernard of Leland, Billy Bernard of Pontiac, Mich., and Charles (Dorothy) Bernard of Auburn Hill, Mich.; four sisters, Barbara (Chester) Winters of Leland, Frankie Dallas of Chicago, Darlene Dallas of Jersey City, N.J., and Ruby Nobles of Cleveland, Ohio; two special nephews, Michael Dallas and Malik Moore, both of Leland; one aunt, Ada Williams of Leland; one uncle, Charlie Bernard of Pontiac, Mich.; his godmother, Bobbie Joe Green of Tunica; his godbrother, Danny Caldwell of Leland; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

The Rev. Billy D. Robinson will officiate.

Dreher

BENOIT — Funeral services for Roy Dempsey Dreher Sr., 83, of Benoit will be today at 2 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home, Cleveland. He died June 5, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, Beulah.

Mr. Dreher was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Priscilla, Miss., to Robert Hugh and Monnie Reid Dreher. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He married Dorothy Mallette on July 12, 1942, in Indianola. He operated multiple businesses in Benoit until his retirement in 1993. He served on the Board of Aldermen in Benoit and was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ in Greenville. He was a beloved family man. He will be greatly missed by his immediate family as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mallette Dreher of Benoit; one son, Roy D. Dreher Jr. and his wife, Mary Jo, of Benoit; two daughters, Dianne Dreher Hanos and her husband, Bill, of Greenville, and Sandra Dreher Madison, and her husband, Charlie, of Lillian, Ala.; two brothers, Hulon Dreher of Nashville and Glenn Dreher of Bastrop, La.; one sister, Dorothy Dreher Jordan of Destin, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Luke Dreher, Nicholas Hanos, Will Hanos, Mike Madison, Miles Madison and Ricky Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Scottie Madison and Bob Mallette.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Center, Memphis.

Griffin

LELAND — Funeral services for C.W. Griffin, 61, of Leland will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Springs MB Church, Leland. He died May 29, 2002, at Parkland Health & Hospital System, Dallas, Texas. Burial will be in Sisters of Charity Cemetery, Elizabeth, under the direction of Frye Funeral Home, Leland.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and caring wife, Ethel J. Griffin of Greenville; his previous wife, Ruby Griffin of Dallas; six sons, T.W. Griffin, Curtis Griffin and Antonio Griffin, all of Leland, Casey Jones of Greenville, Carlos Griffin and C.W. Griffin Jr., both of Dallas; 12 daughters, Cester Rochelle Griffin of Memphis, Rita Griffin of Plano, Texas, Vanessa Griffin, Barbara Griffin, Dorothy Cosie and Edna Stone, all of Greenville, Gloria Manning of Phoenix, Ariz., Camisha Fults and Paris Fults, both of Leland, Ceola Griffin and Betty Griffin, both of Dallas, and Caroline Smith of Lancaster, Texas; five sisters, Edna D. Franklin of Greenville, Othy Mae Woodfork of Danville, Ill., Connie Greer of Milwaukee, Molly Griffin of Chicago and Eliza Jackson of Moorhead; two brothers, Eugie (Dee) Griffin and Earnest (Ida Mae) Griffin Jr., both of New York; one uncle, Walter Griffin Jr. of St. Louis, Mo.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three special friends, Willie James Preston, M.G. Allison and Lee Edward; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Rev. R.C. Addison will officiate.

Grossi

SHAW — A funeral Mass for Alex Grossi Jr., 78, of Shaw will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Shaw. He died June 5, 2002, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery under the direction of Ray Funeral Home, Cleveland.

Mr. Grossi was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Bourbon, Miss., to Alex and Theresa Spodini Grossi. He was a farmer and lived in Bolivar County all his life. He was a member of the Columbus Gin Association and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Reno Grossi and Sam Grossi.

Survivors include three sisters, Strena Durastanti and Polly Mei, both of Shaw, and Rose Biondini of Villa Park, Ill.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mei, Sam Grossi, Matthew Durastanti, Fred Reginelli, Mike Templeton and Tom Whatley.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m., with a wake service following at 7 p.m. at the church.

Father Don Derivaux will officiate.

Hampton

CLEVELAND — Funeral arrangements for Natasha Hampton, 23, of Cleveland are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland. She died June 4, 2002, at Elvis Presley Trauma Center, Memphis.

Jackson

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Henry Jackson, 84, of Greenville are pending at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville. He died June 6, 2002, at his home.

Jones

HOLLANDALE — Funeral services for M.C. Jones, 79, of Jackson and formerly of Hollandale will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Horeb MB Church, Hollandale. She died May 31, 2002, at Central Mississippi Regional Hospital, Jackson. Burial will be in Sanders Memorial Gardens, Hollandale, under the direction of Sanders-Byas Funeral Home, Hollandale.

Survivors include six daughters, Bessie (Charlie) Holt of Memphis, Teressa (Kenney) Williams of Greenville and Emma J. Collins, Rosie Lewis, Mary Ann Underwood and Barbara (Quinton) Lundy, all of Huntsville, Ala.; five sons, Robert (Shirley) Jones of Huntsville, Ala., B.J. (Katie) Jones, Bernard Jones and David (Barbara) Jones, all of Jackson, and Willie Jones of Memphis; four brothers, John L. Bowdre, Willie (Mary) Bowdre, C.D. Bowdre and Jimmie (Barbara) Bowdre, all of Hollandale; three sisters, Ruth Cage of Hollandale, Bernice Bowdre of Memphis and Sarah Frison of East St. Louis, Ill.; two grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 5 p.m., with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m., at T.R. Sanders Chapel of Sanders-Byas Funeral Home, Hollandale.

The Rev. C.B. Jordan will officiate.

Lane

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Roberta Lane, 82, of Rolling Fork will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill MB Church, Anguilla. She died June 1, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Cameta Cemetery, Cameta, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork.

Survivors include one son, Danny R. Lane of Anguilla; two daughters, Rosie (Thomas) Hunley of Anguilla and Alice Hayes of Rolling Fork; two brothers, Joseph Lane of Mayersville and Henry Lane of Riveria, Fla.; two sisters, Rosie Lee Richards and Flora B. Gipson, both of Anguilla; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Special viewing will be at the church Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m.

McGee

DUNCAN — Funeral services for Rosie McGee, 92, of Duncan will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Green MB Church, Rosedale. She died June 5, 2002, at Oak Grove Nursing Home, Duncan. Burial will be in Pleasant Green Church Cemetery, Rosedale, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Lattimore of Rochester, N.Y., and two grandchildren.

The body will lie in state at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Rev. Ivory James will officiate.

Tolliver

SHAW — Funeral services for Nettie Tolliver, 87, of Vicksburg and formerly of Shaw will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Green Grove MB Church, Shaw. She died May 31, 2002, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home, Vicksburg. Burial will be in Green Grove MB Church Cemetery under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.

Nettie Tolliver was born June 30, 1914, to Carrie Scott and Edward Wilson in Benoit. She confessed in Christ on Aug. 28, 1928, under the leadership of the Rev. Johnson of Pilgrim Rest MB Church, Benoit. She later moved her membership to Green Grove MB Church in Shaw under the leadership of the Rev. W.L. Smith. She was a mother of the church and a member of Friendly Sisters Lodge No. 454 until her health failed and she moved to Vicksburg. She was married to James Tolliver in 1951.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister, Daisy Arrington; one stepsister, Mattie Howard; her mother and father; and her stepfather, David Scott.

Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Leroy (Velma) Wilson and Johnny Bee (Essie) Tolliver, both of Vicksburg; two daughters, Catherine (Tommie) Washington of Vicksburg and Beatrice (Joe) Lee of Shaw; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.

The Rev. Henry Knox will officiate.

Trotter

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Thomas Bernard Trotter Jr., 72, of Greenville, a diesel engineer, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. He died of heart failure June 5, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital, Memphis. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.

Mr. Trotter was a native of Memphis, where he graduated from high school. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. After his discharge, he married the former Martha Warfield of Gunnison, and they made their home in Greenville. He owned and operated Mainstream Diesel Inc. He was well known for his work with amateur radios and volunteer work with the American Red Cross. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Warfield Trotter, in 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Terry Ann Massie of Newport News, Va., and Scottie Bastean of Olive Branch, Miss.; two sons, Guy Trotter of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jeff Trotter of Jackson, Miss.; one brother, Richard Trotter of Oklahoma City, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Archer

SHELBY — Funeral arrangements for Mary L. Williams Archer, 55, of Shelby are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Shelby. She died July 25, 2002, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital, Greenwood.
