Armstrong
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Bessie Armstrong, 87, of Greenville will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Greater Hinds Street MB Church, Greenville. She died July 23, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vert Armstrong, and a granddaughter, Farnieca Armstrong.
She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving husband, George Armstrong Sr. of Greenville; one sister, Verna Harrison of Memphis; two daughters, Hattie Jackson of Greenville and Addie Hudson of Chicago; five sons, George (Yvonne) Armstrong of Indianola, Jimmy (Barbara) Armstrong of White Plains, N.Y., Sam (Ollie) Armstrong and Johnny (Dorothy) Armstrong, both of Greenville, and Henry (Cuvator) Armstrong of Gaithersburg, Md.; 30 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family hour will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at Dillon Funeral Home, Greenville. The body will lie in state at the church Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Atkins
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Rosie Lee Atkins, 66, of Greenville will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Sisson Chapel of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville. She died July 20, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens, Indianola.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph Franklin Jr. and Willie Callerhan, both of Greenville, and James Franklin of Indianola; four daughters, Almeter Callerhan, Ruby Atkins, Earlene Atkins and Ruthie Atkins, all of Greenville; one brother, James Howard of Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

Barrett
INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Donald Rex Barrett Jr., 38, of Indianola will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Card Funeral Home, Indianola. He died of heart failure July 24, 2002, at his home. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, Brenda and Donald Barrett Sr. of Indianola; his grandmothers, Virginia Dickerson of Eupora and Idessie Barrett of Greenwood; one sister, Melissa Hodges of Indianola; and one brother, John Barrett of Indianola.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Card Funeral Home, Indianola.
Bennett
FLORA — Funeral services for James Woodrow Bennett Sr., 59, of Flora, a retired highway patrolman, will be today at 7 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home chapel, Clinton. He died July 23, 2002, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.
A native of Winona, Miss., Mr. Bennett graduated from Greenville High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and entered the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol in 1964, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Flora Baptist Church, and an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Bennett of Flora; one son, James W. "Jay" Bennett Jr. and his wife, Tina, of Flowood, Miss.; two grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Bennett; his mother, Margaret Bennett of Greenville; and one sister, Shirley and her husband T.C. Griffin of Greenville.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Clinton.
Brister
DREW — Funeral services for Annie Irene Brister, 84, of Drew will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Morning Star Church of God In Christ, Cleveland. She died July 22, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Drew City Cemetery under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.
Survivors include two sons, Othir Brister and Willie B. Brister, both of New York, N.Y.; one stepson, Ollie B. Brister of Cotton Plant, Ark.; one daughter, Annie B. Booker of Drew; one brother, Graham Brown of New York, N.Y.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

SHELBY — Funeral services for Bernice Brown, 84, of Shelby will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Shelby. She died July 19, 2002, at her home. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery, Shelby, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Shelby.
Survivors include one sister, Magnolia McClinton of Cleveland, Ohio; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosie Williams and Doretha Anderson, both of Chicago; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

CLEVELAND — Funeral services for Essie B. Glenn, 80, of Cleveland will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, Cleveland. She died July 23, 2002, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial will be in Delta Heights Memorial Gardens, Cleveland, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland.
Survivors include three daughters, Essie Mae Coleman and Doris Glenn, both of Cleveland, and Helen G. Beady of Piney Woods, Miss.; six sons, Odell B. Johnson
GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Magnolia Johnson, 54, of Greenville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Friendship MB Church, Greenville. She died July 17, 2002, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
Ms. Johnson was born Feb. 28, 1948, in New Orleans, La., to the late Sam Johnson Sr. and Catherine Johnson. She was raised in Glen Allan, Miss., and she eventually made Greenville her home. She attended O'Bannon High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers James Davis, Melvin Johnson, Elijah Johnson; a sister, Shirley Johnson; and her grandmother, Magnolia Young.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Johnson and Goldia Johnson, both of Greenville, and Virginia Johnson of Irving, Texas; three sons, Leon (Kela) Johnson of Alabaster, Ala., and Issac (Regenia) Johnson and Robert (Lakesha) Johnson, both of Greenville; four sisters, Ida Bea Polland of Greenwood, Sadie Johnson of Chicago, Irene Parish of Greenville and Marie Barnes of Grace; nine brothers, Daniel Johnson, Larry Johnson, Ralph Johnson and Charles Johnson, all of Grace, McArthur Davis and Alonzo Johnson, both of Glen Allan, Arthur Johnson of Delaware, Charlie Johnson of New Orleans and Sam Johnson Jr. of Greenville; six grandchildren, William Johnson, Xavier Johnson, Ebony Fults, Lanarrian Williams, Larue Williams and Larona Ishmon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Virdell Lonnie Little, 66, of Greenville will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Washington County General Baptist Center, Greenville. He died July 22, 2002, at The King's Daughters Hospital, Greenville. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.
Survivors include his wife, Ceola Little of Greenville; one daughter, Adrienne Little Mitchellville, Md.; one son, Mark Little of Mitchellville, Md.; two sisters, Ida (Tommie) Rodgers and Adrienne Thomas, both of Greenville; one aunt, Elnora Gladney of Greenville; seven stepchildren, Jimmie Brown of Hollandale, Brenda Brown (Fredrick) Johnson, Linda Brown (Barry Arrington) and Torrie Brown, all of Greenville, and Cynthia Brown, Lorna Walker and Demetria Brown, all of Atlanta, Ga.; and eight stepgrandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Greenville. The body will lie in state Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Washington County General Baptist Center, Greenville.
