Abel H. Follet Sr.
WOLF POINT - In Loving Memory of Abel H. Follet Sr., who went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 1999, in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Abel was born on Dec. 8, 1942, in Poplar. He grew up in Frazer and graduated from high school on May 24, 1962. After graduating, Abel enlisted with the Marine Corps, serving four years with two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in October of 1966. Abel was a member of the Franklin D. Chopper American Legion Post No. 61.
After his discharge, he met Donna D. Dupree and they were married on Nov. 24, 1966. They moved to Glendive where he attended Dawson Community College and received a degree in police science. They returned to Frazer and he worked as a tribal policeman. He was also a security policeman at the Glasgow Air Base, he worked on the railroad, worked many years for the Fort Peck Administration, was a Head Start director and Fort Peck tribal prosecutor, and his occupation that he loved the most was being an ordained minister.
Abel loved serving the Lord and helping the Indian people. He was a blessed gospel singer and loved singing for the Lord. The Voice of Melody Ministry has recorded four gospel tapes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and talking about the Lord. Abel was also a dialysis patient in Poplar.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Harry Follet Sr. and Mildred White Follet; his younger brother, Harry Jr. I; and his sister, Marlyce "Babe."
He is survived by his wife, Donna D. Follet of Wolf Point; two daughters, Mildred F. Moreno and Francine F. High Horse, both of Wolf Point; four sons, Abel H. "Bootz" Follet Jr. of Wolf Point, Royce C. Follet of Cannon Ball, N.D. Roman G. Follet of Davenport, Iowa, and Breon Lee Dupree Follet of Wolf Point; an adopted son, Cyrus Black Elk of Fort Yates, N.D.; an adopted daughter, Connie Guillory of Lapwai, Idaho; 12 granddaughters and five grandsons; three daughters-in-law, Sharon Martell, Mona Follet, Tamera Follet; two sons-in-law, Andres Moreno Jr. and Julian High Horse; two sisters, Arlene Gomez of Wolf Point and Sadie Blount of Frazer; three brothers, Harry Follet Jr., Elvis Follet Sr., and Tyrus Follet, all of Wolf Point; seven adopted brothers, Roger and Russel White, Leighton Reum, Bill Runs Above, Willard, Floyd, and Arnold Eagle Boy; adopted sisters, June Lockwood, Pat Crawford Eder, Virginia Clancy Black, Flora Eagle Boy, Birdie, Myra and Helen Joshua; his adopted mothers, Vickie Joshua, and Melda Lambert; and adopted daughters in the Lord, Jane and Charlene Lockwood. "We all loved Abel very much and he will be greatly missed."
A wake with a singspiration will be held on Friday, May 14, at the Oswego Community Hall with a service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, at the Frazer High School with Pastor June Lockwood of New Town, N.D. Special music at the service by Tammy Bissonette of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Nicole White Buffalo, Cannon Ball, N.D., and Eva Robert Nomee of the Crow Agency. Military services will be performed by VFW Post No. 1755, and Franklin D. Chopper American Legion Post No. 61 with interment at the Oswego Presbyterian cemetery. Clayton Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Betty J. Murray
HOBSON - Betty J. Murray, 74, of Hobson, died Monday morning in the Central Montana Skilled Nursing Center of natural causes. She was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Gurley, Neb., the daughter of Charles and Sara Jane Anderson. They lived at Christina, and she began her schooling there in country schools. In 1936, they moved into Lewistown and she continued her schooling, graduating from Fergus County High School in 1942. She then moved to Washington, D.C., and worked for the War Department until 1944 when she returned to Lewistown.
On Aug. 21, 1944, she was united in marriage to Joseph W. Murray in Lewistown. They lived in Lewistown until 1946 when they moved to Danvers. In April of 1949 she became the postmaster at Danvers. She served there for 30 years, transferring to Hobson in 1979. She retired in 1983. They continued to live in Hobson until the time of her death.
She was a 38-year member of the Danvers Extension Club, the American Legion Auxiliary of Hobson and past matron of Vesper Chapter Order of Eastern Star of Hobson.
Betty loved to cross-stitch, sew, make all different kinds of crafts and was a painter.
She is survived by her husband, Joe of Hobson; two sons: D. Michael of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Scott T. of Cut Bank; three daughters: Bettie J. Byrd of Billings, Patricia K. Dockery of Cascade, and Judy A. Miller of Great Falls; three sisters: Mrs. Alex (Doris) Raicevich of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Russel (Charlene) Lacey of Reno, Nev., and Mrs. David (Maxine) Fry of Lewistown; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents and two sons: Joey and Tim, preceded her in death.
Funeral Services for Betty J. Murray will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Cloyd Chapel with interment to follow in the Lewistown City cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may make memorials to the Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.

Mable K. Olsen
PHOENI - Mable K. Olsen, age 86, of Phoenix, formerly of Billings, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Orangewood Retirement Center in Phoenix which is an American Baptist Ministers and Missionary retirement community.
Mable was born April 12, 1913, at St. Paul, Minn. She attended school through high school in Minneapolis. She attended Mankato Teachers College in Mankato, Minn., Northwestern Bible & Missionary Training School in Minneapolis and Sioux Falls College in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Mable went into the American Baptist Mission Field in 1938. She spent five years on the Hopi-Navajo Reservation in Arizona and seven years with the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians in Oklahoma. She then lived in Poston and was a missionary on the Colorado River Indian Reservation for 13 years.
In 1964 Mable moved to Billings and was executive director of the Friendship House of Christian Service for 11 years. After her retire-ment she continued to live in Billings until moving to Phoenix in 1993.
Mable is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins; a special friend and caregiver, Wilda Willis of Billings; and a host of friends. Mable was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill and Paul Kortsch.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 14, at First Baptist Church, corner of Third Avenue North and Division Street, in Billings. Interment will follow at the Lodge Grass cemetery. Smith's Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials way be made to First Baptist Church or Friendship House both in Billings.

Hazel May (Jones) Olson
Hazel May Olson, 88, of Billings died May 10, 1999. Hazel May was born Aug. 9, 1910, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Fredrick Charles Jones and Lydia (Shurtliff) Jones. She grew up and attended school in Idaho Falls.
She worked for the telephone company before her marriage to Rulon Seth Olson on March 14, 1932. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls temple and lived in Rigby and Mudlake, Idaho. She was an active member of the LDS Church all her life. After the death of her husband, she moved to Bountiful, Utah, and in 1995 to Billings.
Survivors include two sisters: Bertha Corsi and Gwen Clements, of Idaho Falls; eight children: Faye Haddon of Layton, Utah, Kenneth Olson of Warden, Wash., David Olson of Billings, Joseph Olson of Brigham City, Utah, Lynn Olson of Terreton, Idaho, Gary Olson of Warden, Wash., Karen Olson of Woods Cross, Utah, and Kathleen Powell of Roberts, Idaho; 25 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Smith Downtown Chapel from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12. A funeral service will be held at the Woods Funeral Home in Idaho Falls at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 15. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Woods Funeral Home prior to services. Interment will be at the Ucon cemetery, Ucon, Idaho.

Henry F. Barta
LEWISTOWN - Henry F. "Hank" Barta, 86, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at his home in Lewistown of natural causes.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, in St. Leo's Catholic Church. Funeral Liturgy will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, in St. Leo's Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary cemetery. Creel Funeral Home of Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth V. Biggerstaff
Ruth V. Biggerstaff, 83, of Billings, passed away Sunday, May 9, 1999, at St. John's Nursing Home. Born Dec. 12, 1915, in Great Falls to Arno and Bertha Courtnage Green, she was raised and educated in Coffee Creek graduating from Arrow Creek in 1933. After receiving her schooling at Billings Business College and Montana State College in Bozeman, she moved to Lewistown in 1936 where she married Howard Biggerstaff Dec. 28, 1940. She worked at various government agency jobs, retiring from Montana State Home for the Aged in 1978. She moved to Billings in September 1991.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in 1961; parents; and sister, Jean Halsey. She is survived by her sons, Roger (Beverly) Biggerstaff of Billings and Bob Biggerstaff of Big Sky; grandchildren, Chad and Shaun of Billings, Jerad and Ashley of Big Sky; Maggie Biggerstaff of Big Sky; a brother, John (Neva) Green of Lewistown; many nieces and nephews; and her extended families, Lloyd and Jean Boyer and Jim, Patty, Jeff, and Paula Boyer of Billings.
She set a wonderful example for others by her love of family, love of the Lord, courage, integrity, and compassion. The greatest loves of her life were her two sons and her grandchildren. She was active in many organizations and volunteered to serve others. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place and memorial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 12 at Faith Chapel in Billings. Memorial will also take place 3:30 p.m. Thursday May 13, at First Presbyterian Church in Lewistown. Memorials may be made in her memory to Shrine Children's Transportation Fund, PO Box 20673, Billings, MT 59104 or charities of choice. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Irene Blank
LAUREL - Irene Blank, beloved wife, mother, daughter and friend, died peacefully May 9, 1999, at home following an extended illness.
Born to Nels and Leah Anderson Aug. 12, 1932, she married Floyd Blank in 1961. They had two children, Kevin and Karis, whom she cherished with all her heart and soul. Her father, Nels, and youngest sister, Donna, preceded her in death. She leaves her dear mother, Leah; husband, Floyd, the love of her life; her children, Kevin and Karis; sister, Marlene; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends, whom she loved so very much. Godspeed Irene!
Cremation has taken place. At her request, no service is planned. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Rose E. Dauterman
FORSYTH - Rose E. Dauterman, 60, died Sunday, May 9, at the Rosebud Health Center in Forsyth.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 14, at the LaRay cemetery.

Ray Harrison Drinkwalter
Ray Harrison Drinkwalter died early Monday morning in his home in Billings. He was born July 18, 1935, in Ainsworth, Neb., to Ross and Katherine Drinkwalter. He was raised on a farm and ranch in Crawford, Neb.
Ray served in the Army in Germany during the cold war. He married Kathy Tracy on Oct. 18, 1983. Ray was a bronco rider and a rodeo livestock handler and raised horses. He worked on oil rigs for many years and drove a truck for Garrett.
Ray is survived by his wife Kathy; sons Danny Drinkwalter of Queens, N.Y., and Terry Drinkwalter of Portland, Ore., and stepson Floyd and Jackie Young of Aurora, Colo.; and stepdaughters Mary Young of Chicago, Ill., and Tracy and Greg Bauer of Minnesota; and his brothers Pat Drinkwalter of Crawford, Neb., Willard Drinkwalter and Jesse Drinkwalter, both of Billings; his nephew Kenny Drinkwalter of Huntley and numerous other nephews and nieces, and five grand-children.
Ray was an all around sweetheart of a guy.
Memorial service will be held Friday, May 14, at the Play Inn at 1 p.m. Simplicity Burial and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements. Memorials to Billings Saddle Club.

Frederick A. Hammer
Frederick A. Hammer, 66, of Billings died Sunday, May 9, 1999. He was born in Billings, a son of Herbert and Katherine Records Hammer. Fred had resided in Billings at (Velma) Arlene Massey's Foster Home for 27 years and the last two years at Western Manor.
His sister, Katherine Ann Humphrey of Salem, Ore., survives him. Cremation has taken place and private inurnment will be held at Mountview cemetery. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Kayla Paige Harris
MILES CITY - Kayla Paige Harris seven month old daughter of Braden Harris and Lisa Shores, became an angel of heaven Sunday, May 9, 1999, in Miles City.
Kayla was born Oct. 2, 1998, in Billings. She left this world almost as early as she came into it, but will be in our hearts forever. We just want you to know how very much we all love you and will miss you.
She is survived by her parents of Miles City; her grandparents: David and Colette Harris, Rod and Jane Shores of Miles City, and Monte and Jackie Campbell of Pasco, Wash.; great-grandparents: Eddie and Mary Lou Kimball, Bob and Marilyn Dickson all of Miles City, and Walter "Pat" and Veda Brooks of Kenniwick, Wash.; great-great-grandparents: Norvin "Chris" and Gladys Christopherson and Doris Harris all of Miles City; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Forrest and Helen Shores, Jerry Harris and great-great-grandfather Jesse Harris.
A private family prayer service will be held Wednesday evening May 12, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 13, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home, all friends and family are invited to attend this service. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County cemetery. Should friends or family desire memorials may be made to the family to use for a memorial marker at the cemetery for Kayla.

Casper 'Cap' Heinzman
Casper "Cap" Heinzman, 75, of Billings passed, away in the St. Vincent Hospital May 9, 1999, after a short illness.
He was born in Mott, N.D., Nov. 28, 1923, the son of Jacob and Mary Heinzman. He married Helen Grosskop, Nov. 1, 1952, in Red Lodge.
He worked as an iron worker in many states for 25 years. They settled in Billings after his retirement in 1978. He served in the Army from 1944 to 1945 in Germany.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; one son, Richard and wife Betty; two grandsons: Michael and Jason, all of Billings, three brothers: John (Alice) of Billings, Joe (Dorothy) of Vancouver, Wash., and Jake of Texas; three sisters: Philipine Kern of Billings, Maggie (Roger) Hewson of Belfield, N.D., Francis (John) May of Portland, Ore., and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, seven brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at the Smith West Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens with American Legion rites.

Aillene Marie Klein
Aillene Marie Klein went home on May 8, 1999, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly.
She was born Aillene Marie Hepp on March 16, 1928, in Greeley, Neb. Her parents, Jack R. and Elizabeth M. Hepp raised her in Riverton, Wyo. She married her husband, Art, on May 27, 1947. They moved to Billings in 1966 with their five children.
Aillene loved singing in the church choir and, together with her husband, was active in the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Most significantly, Aillene created a welcome retreat of beauty, comfort, and contentment in her home that protected, nurtured, and sustained those she loved - a love that was impossible to doubt.
She is survived by: Her husband Art, her brother Bill Hepp and wife Connie, her children, Dick Klein and wife Joey, Joanie Swords and husband Lloyd, all from Billings, daughter Mary and husband Bob from Cheyenne, Wyo., daughter Janet and husband David from Tyler, Texas, and son Jack and wife Sue from Mountain Home, Idaho. She is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. She was also the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother.
Visitations will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Smith's West Chapel. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 345 Broadwater Ave. Entombment will be in the Last Supper Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
