Thomas E. Fenton
ROUNDUP - Thomas E. Fenton, 75, of Roundup, formerly of Billings, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Billings Deaconess Hospital. Born Feb. 16, 1923, in St. Xavier, Thomas was the son of Edgar Wright and Totsie (Owen) Fenton. He graduated from High School in Gillette, Wyo., and Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, Ill..
During WWII he served in the United States Army for 36 months as a marine engine man for the amphibious assault force in the South Pacific. Having served in Bismark-Archipaligo, New Guinea and Southern Philippines, he was discharged in December 1945. He married Juanita Cossitt March 11, 1946, in Billings. Thomas began working in the oil fields and service stations during which time Thomas Jr. was born. Thomas built his family's first home with the help of his father in West Billings in 1947. His chosen career as an electrician began during this time. His career continued to develop and as a result he established himself as one of the premier electricians in Billings. Shortly before his retirement, Thomas created and built his dream home in the Bull Mountains outside of Roundup. He loved creating and developing his ideas and was always at the beck and call of his family for building and electrical advice. Thomas loved the outdoors, the animals that visited their home nightly, and swapping tales with neighbors and friends.
Thomas was a member of the VFW, Elks, American Legion, Odd Fellows and IBEW. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Thomas is survived by his wife Juanita Ann Cossitt; their children, Thomas Fenton and wife Paula of Helena, Vikki Fenton Anderberg and husband Jon, of Columbus, Cathy Bakker & husband Ron, of Billings, Shelli Botz and husband Michael of Pocatello, Idaho; siblings, Bernice Kraus and Robert Fenton of Billings, Clara Young of Avon, Minnie Van Scotter of Sheridan, Wyo., Juanita Miller of Lodge Grass and Don Fenton of Clancy; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Mayo, and a half sister Marie Spencer.
Dad always loved to stretch and challenge his mind, was an avid reader and during the last few months enjoyed surfing the web and e-mailing his kids and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel on Monday, Jan. 25. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion, 1540 Broadwater Ave., Billings, MT 59102, Elks Lodge # 394, 934 Lewis Ave., Billings, MT 59101, or the charity of one's choice.

Floyd H. Gabel
Floyd H. Gabel, 82, passed away Jan. 22, 1999, at St. Vincent's Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 5, 1916, to Conrad and Elizabeth Gabel, he grew up on a farm west of Billings. Floyd married Elsie Glockhamer Jan. 11, 1941, in Billings
Floyd served as Technical Sergeant in the 351st Airborne Squadron of the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was stationed in India, Burma and China. Honorably discharged in December 1945, Floyd then worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad in Laurel and the City of Billings Water Department.
In 1949, Floyd and Elsie started a long and successful farming career west of Billings. During this time, Floyd served as a director of the Canyon Creek Ditch Company for 29 years. He was an active member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church for many years and served for 17 years as a Deacon.
Floyd also served for several years on the A.S.C.S. Committee. Floyd foremost enjoyed farming. He was presented the Yegen Station Award for raising outstanding sugar beet crops in 1955, 1957 and 1967. He also enjoyed hunting and fly fishing. After retiring from farming, Floyd took much pride in his flower and vegetable garden. He was a current member of the Faith Chapel Church.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elsie; his daughter Gloria Bowman and son-in-law Ron of Citrus Heights, Calif.; son Floyd and daughter-in-law Myra of Kinsey; son Everett and daughter-in-law Pam of Billings. He was grandfather to Kimberly Sanderson of Citrus Heights, Floyd Wallace Gabel of Kinsey, and Gregory Gabel of Billings. Tom is also survived by his brother Edmund Gabel and sister Elvera Yost and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Leonard, in 1958 and grandson, Eric, in 1987.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Faith Chapel, 517 Shiloh Road, with military rites and interment to follow at Mountview cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Big Sky Hospice, Ronald McDonald House or Faith Chapel of Billings. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Agnes L. Hogoboom
BEACH, N.D. - Agnes L. Hogoboom, 98, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at the Fallon County Medical Complex in Baker, Mont.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, and from 9 a.m. to service time on Monday, Jan. 25, at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Beach. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Beach City cemetery.

Thomas H. Hughes
Thomas H. Hughes, 80, died Jan. 22, 1999, at Eagle Cliff Manor in Billings.
Mr. Hughes was born on May 14, 1918, in Calgary, Alberta; Canada the son of Thomas Henry Hughes and Elizabeth Aurelia Duhamel. He moved with his family to Billings as a child, where he attended school and graduated high school in 1937. He later attended Billings Business College for two years.
Tom enlisted in the Army Air Force and served during WWII prior to his honorable discharge in December of 1945. After the war, Tom returned to Billings and married Lois Marie Callow and together they had four sons and two daughters. After the death of Lois he married Mary Jane Burr who had three children of her own. Mary Jane also preceded him in death.
Tom met his wife Betty Jane (Baker) Hughes when they were paired up for golf at Lake Hills Golf Course. Married for 16 years, Tom and Betty were 'snowbirds' for many years, living part time in their home in Mesa, Ariz., and part time in Billings.
Mr. Hughes loved opera, classical music, golf and shooting pool. He was always willing to give you a golf lesson and his kids remember him for his volunteer work at the Lions Club booth at the Yellowstone County Fair. He was also a member of the Lake Hills Golf Course and St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hughes of Billings; four sons, David and wife Marlene, and Thomas and wife Nancy of Helena, Dennis of Baraboo, Wis., and Bill Hughes of Billings; two daughters, Kathy Hughes and husband Mark of Salinas, Calif., and Toni Olsen and husband George of Warren, Mich.; stepchildren, Greg Burr and wife Linda of Missoula, and Micki Hammond of Selangor, Malaysia; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude Carlson of Billings; sisters-in-law Agnes Porter and Sally Hughes of Billings; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with rite of committal to follow at Holy Cross cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie Jean Kimberlin
MILES CITY - Bonnie Jean Kimberlin, 54, of Miles City died at her home Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999.
Cremation has taken place in the Bullis-Graves Eastern Montana Crematory. Private disposition of the Ashes will be at a later date. Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.

James Martin Leibrand
SCOBEY - James Martin Leibrand Sr., age 72, died Thursday at Wolf Point from an apparent heart attack. He was born Jan. 14, 1927, at Verwood, Saskatchewn. James attended school in Canada and moved to Scobey in 1947. He married Hi1da Louise Wahl of Madoc in December 1949 at Searchlight, Nev. James worked many years in construction with partner Ernie Ha1vorson before retiring for health reasons. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop in the backyard and fishing in Canada.
James was preceded by his parents Martin and Florence (Berry) Leibrand; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
Survivors are: seven sons, James Leibrand Jr. (Halina) of Shererville, Ind., Leslie (Lois) of Scobey, Keneth of Billings, George (Donna) of Peerless, Edward of Billings, Dale (Jennifer) of Lowell, Ind., and Gerald (Janee) of Billings; seven daughters, Mrs. Vance (Clairann) Garfield of Colorado Springs, Mrs. Duane (Mary) Cassidy of Great Falls, Mrs. Mark (Rhonda) Shipstead of Scobey, Mrs. Clayton (Donna) Reum of Wolf Point, Mrs. Paul (Joleen) Richardson of Scobey, April Hall of Great Falls, and Janet Owen of Seattle. Thirty grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Siblings: Mrs. Doug (Ann) McCulloch of Scobey, Fred Leibrand of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Anton (Shirley) Dighans of Belgrade, John Leibrand in Arizona, and Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Bartlett of Cleveland.
A private family service will be held.

James A. Sellar Jr.
WORLAND, Wyo. - James A. "Jim" Sellar Jr., 77, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Washakie Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel.

Florence M. Sinclair
WORLAND, Wyo. - Florence M. Sinclair, 75, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Washakie Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel.

Deborah Lou Hilmer
WORLAND, Wyo. - Deborah Lou Hilmer, 44, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at her home after a long illness.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel.

Walter Buxbaum
SIDNEY - Walter Buxbaum, 71, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at the Sidney Health Center.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at Fulkerson Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at the Assembly of God Church with interment in the Richland Memorial Park.

Harry Arnold Pihlak
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Harry Arnold Pihlak, 82, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at his home.
Visitation will be held until service time on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Kane Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sheridan Municipal cemetery.

Irvin Wright
WOLF POINT - Irvin Wright, 77, of Wolf Point, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
Visitation will be 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Clayton Memorial Chapel with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Immaculate Conception Church with interment in the Chicken Hill cemetery.

George L. Meged
ROUNDUP - George L. Meged, 69, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, of natural causes.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at Wier Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at the funeral chapel with interment in the Roundup City cemetery.

Darla B. Ware
GLASGOW - Darla Beauchamp Ware, 52, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Bell Mortuary Chapel with interment in the Oswego Presbyterian cemetery.

Ann J. Horyna
LEWISTOWN - Ann J. Horyna, 84, formerly of Roy, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at the Central Montana Skilled Nursing Center of natural causes.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the Cloyd Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Lewistown City cemetery.

James M. Tudor
GREAT FALLS - James Maurice Tudor, 73, formerly of Billings, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Benefis East Hospital of natural causes.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, in Croxford & Sons Funeral Home's Rose Room. Cremation will take place.

Coey Johnson Real Bird
ST. XAVIER - Coey Johnson Real Bird, six month old son of Gary and Desiree Old Coyote Real Bird, who brought so much happiness in such a short time, passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in the Big Horn County Memorial Hospital in Hardin.
Ishaashk'a Ditchil'aache (Man with a Dangerous Horse) was born July 6, 1998, in Crow Agency. He lived with his parents in the St. Xavier area.
Coey was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lloyd Kayo Old Coyote.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Charmayn Real Bird of Ft. Smith; four brothers, Cyle Old Elk of the family home, Goldman Real Bird of Lodge Grass, Nakoa and Paden Real Bird of Shepherd; his grandparents, Philamine Old Coyote and Annie Walks of St. Xavier, Laura Real Bird of Garryowen, Richard Real Bird and Victoria Bad Bear of Crow Agency, Mabel Beebee, Steven and Isabelle Fox of Canada, Phillip and Martha Beaumont of Pryor, Barney Old Coyote of Billings; aunts and uncles, Lawrence and Laura Pretty Weasel, Theron and Bridgett Old Elk, Thomas Old Coyote, Bert Little Owl, Carla Big Head, Gary and Kathy Gardner, Dora Falls Down, Kendall Old Horn, Annie Real Bird, Mark and Cheri Real Bird, Jess and Mallory Real Bird, Garla Morin and Nathan and Patleen Enick.
Rosary will be recited 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, in the St. Xavier Catholic Mission. Interment will be in the St. Xavier Mission cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Mary A. Sansaver
WOLF POINT - Mary A. Sansaver died Jan. 22, 1999, in Wolf Point.
She was born in Belcourt, N.D., on Oct. 14, 1908, to Robert and Mary H. Azure. She was raised in the Belcourt-Rolla, N.D., areas moving to Wolf Point in 1930 where she met and married Roy L Sansaver in Glasgow, on May 16, 1931.
Mary lived her life as a Christian, opening her life and home to all. She was active in Catholic Daughters and a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Wolf Point. She enjoyed her family and extended family which included most of the community she called home. Mary enjoyed many facets of homemaking, sewing and giving many quilts to family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing whether on the Missouri River or Fort Peck Lake. Her special joy was the many birds she fed and housed in assorted bird houses that stand at her home today. Her love of the outdoors was evident, especially in her gardening and in the canning of many jams, jellies, and fruits.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Roy L. Sansaver, and Cynthia Marie Sansaver, a granddaughter.
She is survived by her children; James L. Sansaver (Kathleen) of Golden Valley, Minn., Paul F. Sansaver (Nancy Demoro), Mary A. Verwolf (Tom), Donna L. Wimmer (Roger), and Don A. Sansaver (Lavonne) all of Wolf Point; a sister Nora Moran of Wolf Point; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held on Monday, Jan, 25, from 9 a.m to 8 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 6:45 p.m. on Monday evening at the Clayton Memorial Chapel with vigil services to follow at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Wolf Point with Rev. Fr. Steve Zabrocki of Wolf Point, and Rev. Fr. Julian Nix of Bismarck, N.D., officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.
