Norma Sharpe Williams
JERUSALEM, Ark. - Norma Sharpe Williams, 66 of Jerusalem, formerly of Billings and Hardin, Mont., died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at Hillcrest Medical Center, in Tulsa, Okla., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
The daughter of Emery (Paul) and Nora Sharpe, Norma was born July 17, 1932, in Dunning, Neb. She was married to Earl Schlaht from 1947 to 1957; they had five children together. In September of 1982, she married Roy Williams in Denver. Their families became one big family. Norma loved them all dearly.
Norma and Roy lived in Denver, then moved to Jerusalem. They built a beautiful life together. They operated a small store in Jerusalem. Norma loved collecting antiques and crystal. She enjoyed crocheting and shopping. She will be missed very much by family and friends. "Mom, grandma, we all LOVE YOU very much and we will miss you a lot."
Survivors include her husband, Roy of Jerusalem; five children, Ken Schlaht and his wife, Eileen, Vivian Seifert, and Janet Clark and her husband, Duane, all of Billings, Larry Schlaht of Rawlins, Wyo., and Dena Schlaht with Connie Olson of Bozeman; three stepchildren, Frances Burns and her husband, David of Dallas, Karen Dee and her husband, Scott, and Robert Williams, all of Denver; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Pat Vandersloot and her husband, Richard, Frank Sharpe and his wife, Agnes, all of Hardin, and Pauline Studt and her husband, Don of Albarge, Wyo., Sharon Kuck and her husband, Vernon of Windsor, Colo., James Sharpe and his wife, Nancy of Phoenix and Barbara Southard and her husband, Darris of Aldrich, Mo.
Norma was preceded by her father, Paul, and mother, Nora; and brother, Willis Sharpe.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at the Hardin First Congregational Church. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery. Memorials to the Reba's Ranch House, 1100 Reba McEntire Lane, Denison, TX 75020.
Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist has charge of arrangements.

Carrie A. Workman
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Carrie A. Workman, 74, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at Sheridan Manor.
Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Kane Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home.

Dorothy Payne Yellowtail
HARDIN - Dorothy Payne Yellowtail, 97, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at the Big Horn County Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Lodge Grass Crow Indian Baptist Church with interment in the Lodge Grass cemetery. Bullis Mortuary is in charge.

Marie E. Limpus
LEWISTOWN - Marie E. Limpus, 92, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at the Central Montana Skilled Nursing Center of natural causes.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the United Methodist Church with interment in the Winifred cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge.

Rose (Rosie) Reiter Stahley
EL CAJON, Calif. - Rose Reiter Stahley passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 23, 1999, at the California Special Care Nursing Home in San Diego.
Rose was born Feb. 27, 1920, in Worden, Mont., the daughter of Henry H. and Katie Reiter. She was baptized and confirmed in the Congregational faith. She attended Laurel area schools. She married Herman Stahley, Dec. 8, 1939, and they farmed in the Laurel and Billings area until moving to Hardin. There they owned and operated Stahley Tractor Company. The family relocated to California in 1961, where Rose made her home. Rose was employed with Pacific Bell until retirement.
Rose was a dedicated church volunteer, working with children in the AWANA program for many years. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family, often spending three or four months a year in Montana. She loved all kinds of arts and crafts. In her earlier years she enjoyed being a member of the marching unit of the Eagles Auxiliary. The joy of her life was her 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren - all who will miss her very much.
Survivors include her children, Patricia (Richard) Seder of Ballantine, Mont., Richard (Mary Kay) Stahley of San Diego, Ronald (Jean) Stahley of El Cajon, Rodney Stahley of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Raymond Stahley of San Diego; sisters, Helen (Norman) Bever of Pueblo, Colo., Lydia Ostwald of Laurel, Mont., Betty (Roger) Hart of Laurel; brothers, Walter (Helen) Reiter of Laurel, Victor (Eleanor) Reiter of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, El Cajon.
Memorials may be sent to the church of one's choice.

Mary Sliwaka Kuzma Stout
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Mary Sliwaka Kuzma Stout, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at Sheridan Manor.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Kane Funeral Home.

Chris Wanner Jr.
Chris Wanner Jr., 83, of Billings, died Feb. 22, 1999. He was born May 29, 1915. Chris was preceded in death by two daugh-ters, Rosemary and Diana. Survivors include two daughters, Jane and Sandra; two sons, Kenneth (Dianne) and Gary; one son-in-law; three sisters; and six brothers. Cremation has been held. Memorial is 1 p.m. Friday at Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Margaret Daisy Dannenberg
Margaret Daisy Dannenberg, 93, of Billings, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 25, 1999, at St. John's Lutheran Home. The only surviving child of 13 children born to Henry and Amanda Herzog, she was born March 7, 1905, in Wheatland, Ill.
Margaret married Joseph J. Dannenberg on June 14, 1925, in Joliet, Ill., and they lived in Michigan and Illinois before moving to Montana in 1947 to farm. They retired to Billings in 1962. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and their only child, Forrest Dannenberg.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Frances Dannenberg; her granddaughter, Cindy (Richard) Gee of Shepherd; her grandson, Ron (Kathy) Dannenberg of Rapelje; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be begin 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist, 1001 Alderson Ave. Family and friends will gather 1 p.m. Monday, March 1, at Sunset Memorial Gardens for a graveside service. Memorials may be sent to St. John's Lutheran Home, 3940 Rimrock Road, Billings, MT 59102 or the charity of one's choice.

Ralph Neil Adams Jr.
(Bud)
Ralph Neil Adams Jr. (Bud) passed away on Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital in Billings.
Ralph was born in Columbus to Ralph and Etta Adams on Sept. 9, 1922. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1941. Ralph worked for the U.S. Bureau of Mines until he joined the U.S. Army Air Corp as a pilot. He was stationed with the 15th Air Force in Italy, where he flew 10 combat missions and logged over 900 military flying hours in a B-17 bomber. Major Ralph Adams retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1982, and was a member of the Reserve Officers Association of the United States until the time of his death.
Ralph married Mildred Rhyner on Dec. 15, 1945, in Redwood City, Calif. They returned to Montana where he attended college in Bozeman. Ralph worked for the Montana State Highway Department, Long Construction Co., and was a draftsman for Mobil Oil Co. Ralph and Mildred started A&I Rapid Print Co. in 1959. Upon selling his business he retired to take up farming.
Ralph was a loving husband and was devoted to his family. He loved farming and spending time relaxing at the family cabin.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Mildred of 53 years; children: Terry Adams and wife, Charlene of Flower Mound, Texas; Gwen Szudera and husband, Ed of Rock Springs, Wyo.; and Beth Schultz, Billings; grandchildren: Vanessa and Christopher Adams; Mac and wife, Dee, Lorie and Guy Szudera; Bryan and wife, Martha, and Andrea Schultz; great-grandchild: Alexandra Szudera; brothers: Bob and Dick Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Marjorie and Mildred.
Private family services were held Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at the Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings.

Agnes L. Benson
GLASGOW - Agnes L. Benson, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at the Valley View Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the First Lutheran Church with interment in Highland cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge.

Emily Teresa Baker
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Emily Teresa Baker, 85, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Westview Health Care Center.
Graveside services will beat 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at the Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Champion Funeral Home is in charge.

Edward Thoma Big Hail
PRYOR - Edward Thoma Big Hail, infant son of Bruce Big Hail Jr. and Berdie Bear Crane, was stillborn March 25, 1999 in Farmington, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Verlyn Stands Over the Bull; great-grandmother, Emma Bear Crane; and great-grandfathers, Raymond Stands Over the Bull and Leo Stewart.
Survivors include his parents of Pryor; one brother, Kordell Stuart Big Hail of Pryor; his grandparents, Mary (Bob) Kelly and Victoria Stewart of Billings, Renee (Yvon) Little Light, Roberta Walks, Raylene (James) Kelly, Janet Sees the Ground, Gail (Brian) Yellowtail, Chet (Maranda) Bird Hat, Cecelia Stands Over the Bull and Ray Scott of Pryor, Bruce Big Hail Sr. of Billings, Alex (Roberta) Bear Crane Jr. and Julie (William) Hugs of Hardin, Gary (Patty) Bear Crane of Crow Agency, Leo Stewart of Oregon, Mitchelene (Tom) Filsteel of Fort Belknap and Mike Stewart of Rocky Boy; his great-grandparents, Edward and Irma Bird Hat, Oliver and Belva Costa, Patsy Stands Over the Bull and Warlene Comes Up of Pryor, Alex and Harriett Bear Crane and Preston and Sandra Grant of Hardin, Annie Costa of Crow Agency and Mae House of Dunmore. He is also survived by numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pryor Camp cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Gladys Linnea Cooney
HELENA - Gladys Linnea Cooney was born Feb. 21, 1913, in Helena, and passed away suddenly March 18, 1999, at Cooney Convalescent Center in Helena. She was preceded in death by her father, H. Walter Larson in 1966, her husband, Jack N. Cooney in 1968, her mother, Anna Eck Larson in 1982, and her sister, Hazel Anderson in 1998.
She graduated from Helena High School in 1930 and the University of Montana in 1934 receiving a bachelors degree in Business Administration. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and Spurs. She was employed by the Montana Meat Company in Helena, the family business, from 1934 until 1947. On Nov. 10, 1947, she married Jack Newton Cooney. They ranched southeast of Harlowton until his death in 1968.
Gladys lived in Harlowton until 1970 and then moved to Helena where numerous family members resided. She was a member of the Helena St. John's Lutheran Church, the Montana Club, the Scandia Group and the Order of Eastern Star in Harlowton. She was a volunteer at Shodair Hospital for seven years.
Gladys is survived by her son, John P. Cooney II of Harlowton; four granddaughters, Tricia Goddard of Columbus, Melissa Cooney of Big Timber, Julie Woodard of Belgrade, and Jill Cooney of Shepherd; one grandson, John P. Cooney III of Shepherd; her brother, J. Einar Larson of Helena; two great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for the devotion and unconditional love she gave to her immediate, as well as her extended family.
A Memorial Service was held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Helena, Monday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m. The family requests that those wishing to do so, send memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church or West-Mont in Helena.

Daniel Dykstra
HELENA - Daniel Dykstra, age 78, of 1130 Hauser Blvd. died unexpectedly in Orange, Calif., Thursday evening March 25, 1999.
Dan was born in Helena, Aug. 30, 1920, to Daniel and Pearl Dykstra. He received his education in Helena graduating from Helena High School in 1938. He continued his education at the University of Montana. Dan entered the U.S. Marine Corps retiring as a captain after service to his country in the south Pacific during World War II. Dan married former Lillian Neville in 1944. He resumed his career at the Union Bank. Later attending the Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers, He retired from Norwest Bank and Trust Company in 1980 to enjoy more time golfing and his grandchildren.
He was a life member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, on the Board of Eagles manor since its inception, served in two sessions in the Montana State Legislature in 1961 and 1963, active in civic involvement including: the State Cancer Board, Deaconess School for Children, the Florence Crittenton Home, Marine Toys for Tots, Lions Club, Montana Club and Green Meadow Country Club. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Montana in Helena.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; a brother George; and son-in law Jack E. Smith. Dan is survived by his wife Lillian of Helena; his son Douglas George Dykstra and his wife Dawn; his daughter Kathy Dykstra Smith; his grandchildren: Anna Marie Smith, Stephanie, Krista, Theresa, Mary, Julianne, Alyssa and Daniel Jacob; also great-grandchildren, Nathan, Michael and Talon.
Viewing hours will begin 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at the Retz Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from the hours of 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Retz Funeral Home. A memorial service in celebration of Dan's life is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Montana (corner of 8th and Warren) in Helena, with Pastor Jay Zaremba and long time friend and classmate Rev. Loren Foot presiding. Those wishing to send a memorial in Dan's name may do so to an organization of the donor's choice.

Gertrude M. "Gert" Gates
LEWISTOWN - Gertrude M. "Gert" Gates, 80, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, in Billings of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be at 11 a.m. in St. James Episcopal Church. Inurnment will be at a later time. Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George Brent Gregg
'CLOUD BOY'
WOLF POINT - George Brent Gregg, 'Cloud Boy', 84, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at the Faith Home in Wolf Point.
Wake with a vigil service will be at 5 p.. Wednesday, March 31, at the Wolf Point Community Hall. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at the Clayton Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will be in the Oswego Presbyterian cemetery. Clayton Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry William Grove
LAUREL - Jerry William Grove, 61 of Laurel, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, March 27, 1999. The son of Charles and Jean Germeraad Grove, he was born Dec. 25, 1937.
He attended schools in Billings and graduated from Billings Senior High School. In 1957, Jerry married Joanne Kennedy and they had five children; Larry (Jackie Watson), Jennifer (Charles Holycross) Davis, Jeff (Rozanne), Laurie (Sean) Brown, all of Billings; and Lisa (Rod) Rader of Sioux City, Iowa.
In 1984, Jerry married Barb Kyriss, welcoming her children to the family. They are Tony Kyriss of Tempe, Ariz., Lisa Keller of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Steve Kyriss of Salem, Ore.
Jerry worked for United Glass for 30 years before opening his own business in 1991. He was an active member of the Billings Motorcycle Club for many years. He was an outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing with family and friends. Jerry was a highly skilled craftsman in his profession and hobbies, whose knowledge and talents were unlimited. He was a great friend to many people, always there to lend a hand and share his abilities.
Jerry will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. We are so thankful for our special memories. He was preceded in death by his parents and two uncles.
In addition to the family members mentioned above, he is survived by his sister, Jane Ann Grove, 17 grandchildren, three aunts, one uncle, and many special friends.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Michelotti, Sawyers and Nordquist, 1001 Alderson Ave. If desired, memorials may be sent to the Billings Activity Program, 4635 Simpson, Billings, MT 59101.
