Kenneth E. Marshall
LAUREL - Kenneth E. Marshall, age 75, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at the Evergreen Health & Rehabilitation Center at Laurel.
He was born March 11, 1923, at Harrison, to Lewis and Isabelle Marshall. He grew up loving to fish, hunt, and wander the hills and mountains near Pony. He later joined the U.S. Army in 1943 where he flew B-24s during World War II. After returning home from the service, he worked for the highway department. He later became an elevator mechanic with Otis Elevator, working in the Missoula area for many years.
In June 1950, he married Shirley Mae Patrick of Avon. Together they raised five children and later went their separate ways.
He served as a Boy Scout leader. He provided leadership for the Cold Springs School District as well as for the Atonement Lutheran Church in Missoula. He was a Benevolent Protectorate of the Elks in Missoula. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and keno.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Leroy; and his sister, Willa Carey.
He is survived by sons: Gary Marshall of Missoula and David Marshall of Butte; daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Greg Robey of Billings, Mary Ann and Ted Jacobsen of Spokane, Wash., and Tracy and John Stanley of Columbus; grandchildren: Ted, Adam, and Sarey Robey of Billings, Jason Robey of Fort Hood, Texas, Jared Marshall of Seattle, Patrick Jacobsen of Spokane, Ebany and husband, Nick Staker of Spokane, and Michael and Kristina Stanley of Columbus; two great-grandchildren; brothers: Clare Marshall of Pony and Harold Marshall of Helena; sister: Frances Clowes of Pony.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. from the K&L Mortuary Chapel at Harrison with Bill Comer officiating. Interment will follow in the Valley View cemetery at Pony with military graveside honors.
Memorials are preferred to Evergreen Care Center in Laurel for the Alzheimer's unit.

Evelyn McElroy
MILES CITY - Evelyn McElroy, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at the Holy Rosary Health Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with interment in the family lot in the Custer County cemetery.

Emilie J. Meiers
Emilie J. Meiers, 68, of Billings died Jan. 11, 1999, at home after a long illness. She was born July 30, 1930, in Oil City, Penn., a daughter of Otto H. and Josie Vestre Slemmen. The family moved to Souris, N.D. where she attended grade school. After graduating from high school in Bottineau, N.D., she received her nursing degree in Bottineau.
Emilie married Duane L. Meiers Aug. 30, 1951, in Bottineau. They later lived in Bismarck and Fargo, N.D.; and moved to Billings in 1982. She loved playing bridge and was a Silver Life Master.
Survivors are her husband, Duane; son, David (Susan) Meiers, grandchildren, Jimmy and Emma of Fargo; daughter, Debra Meiers of Billings; and sister, Arlene (Robert) Jensen of Minot, N.D.
At her request, no service is planned. Cremation took place at Cremation or Funeral Gallery. Memorials may be made to the Ann Carlson Center for Children, 301 7th. Ave. NW, Jamestown, ND 58401-2971.

Gloria B. Morgensen
LIVINGSTON - Gloria B. Morgensen, 81, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at her home.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with graveside committal in Mountain View cemetery. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home is in charge.

Joseph J. Poll
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Joseph J. Poll, 75, well-known and prominent businessman of Sheridan, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at the Boswell Memorial Hospital in Sun City, Ariz., from complications from a stroke.
Joe was born on March 17, 1923, to Joseph and Cathrine (Bliskey) Poll. He was raised in the Sheridan area and attended Sheridan schools.
On Oct. 5, 1946, he was united in marriage to Roberta Hill in Billings.
Joe served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Normandy, Northern France, Germany and the Ardennes. Joe received the Silver Star Medal, the Purple Heart, four Bronze Campaign Stars, American Theatre Ribbon, Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, Distinguished Unit Citation and the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon.
Following his honorable discharge, Joe returned to Sheridan and worked for Westbrook Motors and Riley Motor. In 1951, he began his career working and living his business, Poll Motor Co.
He was an avid golfer, and in his later years spent his winters in Arizona to enjoy the game. He enjoyed working with his tools, spending time with his friends and especially spending time with his family. He was a pillar of the Sheridan community and a people person.
He was a member of Sheridan Masonic Lodge No. 8 AF. & A.M., the Scottish Rite Bodies, a member and past potentate of the Kalif Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters Court 135, a member and past president of the Sheridan Country Club, a member and past president of the Wyoming Senior Men's Golf Association, a member and past district commander of the VFW, the Sheridan Rotary Club, the Sheridan Elks Lodge No. 520 and St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Helen Minick.
Mr. Poll is survived by his wife, Roberta of Sheridan; two sons, David L. Poll and Dennis H. Poll and wife, Musette both of Sheridan; his brother, Edward Poll and wife, Betty of Sheridan; and his five grandchildren: Davey Poll, B. J. Poll, Joey Poll III, Angela Poll and Abbie Poll.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Rev. David Duprey and Rev. Raymond Clark officiating. Masonic Graveside Services and interment will follow in the Sheridan Masonic Lodge No. 8 AF & AM Section of the Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Presentation of the flag will be conducted by the Wyoming Army National Guard. Champion Funeral Home is in charge.
Memorials in memory of Mr. Poll may be designated to Kalif Temple Shrine Children's Travel Fund in care of Kalif Shrine, P. 0. Box K, Sheridan, Wyo. 82801.

Robert Dee Wiseman
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Robert Dee Wiseman, 54, formerly of Miles City, Mont., died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at the Sun Rise Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.

F. Raymond Young
SPOKANE, Wash. - Funeral services wi1l be held for Ray Young, 88, on Thursday, Jan. 14, l999, 11 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hysham, Mont. Mr. Young, a Spokane, Wash., resident since 1982, died Jan. 7 after a long illness.
Mr. Young was born and raised near Belfield, N.D., but lived most of his adult life in Montana.
He married Dolores Zent of Hysham in 1941 and they settled in Miles City, Mont., where he was in the grocery business and farmed at Kinsey until 1961 when they moved to Billings and he continued farming in the nearby Hysham area.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus in Montana and member of St. Peter's Parish, the Kiwanis and the Southside Newcomers Club in Spokane.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Tom Hopkins of Spokane; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Shirley Young of Great Falls, Mont.; a sister Virginia Angle of Billings, plus six grandchildren: Bethany, Stephen and Brittany Hopkins, Jeff, Kevin and Tyler Young.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Morningstar Boys Ranch of Spokane.

Rachel Elizabeth Allred
WORLAND, Wyo. - Rachel Elizabeth Allred, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Community Care of America in Worland.
Visitation will be two hours prior to service. The services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Worland LDS Stake Center. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens cemetery in Worland. Veile Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Edwin C. "Ted" Bassett
BYRON, Wyo. - Edwin C. "Ted" Bassett, 76, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at the Powell Nursing Home in Powell.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, in the Byron cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret D. Batalden
BUFFALO, Wyo. - Margaret D. Batalden, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo.
Visitation will be from 1-10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, and from 8 a.m. till service time on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial cemetery in Windom, Minn. With committal services at a later time.

Ellen H. Brazelton
WORLAND, Wyo. - Ellen H. Brazelton, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Washakie Memorial Hospital in Worland.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Grace Chapel Community Church in Worland. Veile Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Annette Felicitas Broderic
THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. - Annette Felicitas Broderic, 87, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the St. Francis Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the church. Mortimore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph A. Gandrud Jr.
CULBERTSON - Joseph A. Gandrud Jr., 58, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999 at RMMC in Culbertson after a courageous two year battle with brain cancer.
Joe was born Jan. 20, 1940, to Joe and Marie Gandrud Sr. in Topinish, Wash. He attended Culbertson Schools and graduated from there in 1958.
Joe married Gloria Kaufman Aug. 2, 1959, in Culbertson. They had four daughters and were divorced in 1982.
For most of Joe's life he was employed by the Montana Highway Department while living in Plentywood, Opheim, Glasgow AFB and returned to Culbertson in 1974. At this time he went to work for his dad at "Joe's Husky" and then later worked for Sweetheart Bread, Continental Grain, and Plummer Trucking. Joe owned and operated "Gandrud Oil" until 1990. He returned to work for the Montana Highway Dept. in Culbertson until his retirement in September 1997.
Joe was a past member of the Culbertson Volunteer Fire Dept., Culbertson Lions Club and the Montana National Guard.
Joe enjoyed restoring old pickups and going to car shows. He could always be found attending his grandkids' school and sporting events. In his spare time he was part owner of a lawn and garden business that he ran with his good friend Tom Kuntz. He also enjoyed the company of his friends at the Montana Bar.
Joe is survived by his parents, Joe and Marie; his daughters Teri and Dale Wolff, Lori and Randy Fryhling, Joni and Todd Sherman, and Peni and Kelly Peterson. He is survived by seven grandchildren, Joshua, Cody and Jake Wolff, Kyle and Ryan Fryhling, and Kayla and Lane Sherman. He is also survived by three sisters, Judy and John Hofman, Nancy Sundvold, and Debbie and Mike Nielsen, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Culbertson. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be at a later date. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Culbertson Ambulance Service.

Simon LaVallie
ABSAROKEE - Simon LaVallie passed away peacefully at his home in Absarokee, Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999. Simon was born in Belcourt, N.D. on Dec. 15, 1913. He was one of 10 children born to Antoine and Mary Louise LaVallie.
Simon enjoyed living in Absarokee for over 50 years. He referred to Absarokee as "the little town at the end of the rainbow." During his younger years, he loved to fish and hunt. He played his guitar, sang and loved western music.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) LaVallie of Absarokee; a daughter, Audrey Murry of Darby and a daughter, Donna LaVallie of Seattle, Wash.; his great-grandson, Alan Allred of Jackson, Calif.; grandchildren, Jullie Allred of Jackson, Calif., James (Jim) Murry of Sacramento, Calif., and Shannon Ryan of Milwaukee, Wis. He is also survived by one brother, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan.14, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Absarokee. A reception luncheon will follow services. Smith Funeral Chapel-Columbus was in charge of cremation.

Delmar Lewis Loughlin
THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. - Funeral services for Delmar Lewis Loughlin, 69, will be Monday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. at Mortimore Funeral Home with Reverend Susan Twidwell of Community Federated Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Monument Hill cemetery. Mr. Loughlin died Thursday, Jan. 7, at Canyon Hills Manor following a long illness.
He was born April 11, 1929, in Rapid City, S.D., the son of Nat and Myrle (Lewis) Loughlin. In 1935 the family moved from Bison, S.D. to Thermopolis where Delmar attended school and graduated from Ther-mopolis High School.
On June 13, 1953, he married Delores Bryson in Thermopolis. For approxi-mately 10 years Mr. Loughlin worked on drilling rigs then went to work for Empire State Oil until it sold. At that time he purchased and operated Tex-aco Bulk Plant. In 1969 he became assistant field service supervisor for TRW Reda Pump. He retired in 1984.
He was a member of BPOE Lodge #1746. He enjoyed family, friends, laughing, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Delores of Thermopolis; three sons, Tracy Loughlin of Cody, Zane Loughlin of Thermopolis, and Kelly Loughlin and his wife, Laura, of Thermopolis; two granddaughters, Amber and Brandi Loughlin of Thermopolis; and two sisters, Loyce VanPetten of Powell, and Aileen Shrum of Cerritos, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Healthy Youth/Healthy Community c/o Pinnacle Bank, 125 So. 5th St., Thermopolis, WY 82443.
