Martin P. Petersen
Nov. 4, 1922-July 14, 1999
BIG TIMBER - Weep well when you're all alone...
Martin Petersen: a man of strength, a man whose life-force was a rock-steady rhythm of caring for land and animals. No one could take care of a calf or a baby animal the way Martin could. He found lost sheep, pulled the babies from mama cows having a tough time, doctored them, made them live and thrive. And irrigate? Martin could irrigate a rock and make grass grow.
He was a man for all men.
I was privileged to know him for 29 years. And I shall weep, weep well, when I'm alone. But I shall also remember.... The years and the times and the animals and the life-force that was Martin. Thank you, my dear I loved you.
Born in Laurel, Nov. 4, 1922. Martin lived all of his life since the age of 7 in Sweet Grass County.
Father: Pete Hans Petersen
Mother: Mary Petersen
Sister: Delia Petersen
Martin is survived by his wife, Gwen Petersen: his son, Robert David Petersen: daughter, Rita Kay Weeks: grandchildren, Crystal Weeks, Candice Olson; great-grandchildren, Bradley Haynie, Chester, Chandler Weeks, Mesa, Ariz.
May all who knew Martin be blessed.
