Anna Elizabeth 'Betty' 'Bee' Hendricks
Mom, Gramma, Great Gramma, Aunt:
"Bee, you bolstered our spirits, encouraged our intelligence, and shared with us your wonderful sense of humor. You astounded us with your wisdom and strength of character. You are our hero and we will love you forever."

Anna Elizabeth Hendricks was born in Davis City, Iowa, on Oct. 16, 1924. She was the fifth of seven children born to Iris Elizabeth Piper and William Seibert England. She came to Glendive at six months of age. Anna attended grade school in Glendive and high school at Mount Ellis Academy in Bozeman, where she had the soprano lead in many of the school productions.

Anna (Betty) enjoyed working as a waitress at PAYS stockyard for many years. In the '70s, she went to work as a teacher's aide for the third grade at Lockwood School, where Bee's love and patience helped those children who were having the most difficulty learning. In 1986, she retired from the outside work force, but volunteered to develop posters for the Senior Helping Hands program and donated her time and talent to illustrate a cookbook which the SHHP director used as a fundraising project.

Anna succumbed to the cancer, which afflicted her spine and liver, maintaining her positive attitude right to the end. That's not surprising to anyone who knew "Anna, " "Betty, " "Bee." She always managed to turn a negative into a positive. Along the way, her wit, wisdom and concern for others brightened the lives of all who have been lucky enough to share their time with her.

Survivors include her daughter, Alita Hale and her husband, George; her grandson, Case Killian (Karin); her granddaughter, Kelly Killian; and six great-grandchildren, Kaycee Jo, Cade, Kylee, Kaige, Cooper and Caleb; her "Earth Angel, " nephew, Rand Booth and his family, along with his sisters, all of whom helped Bee through her ordeal; her sister-in-law, Brenda England and her family; and many nephews and nieces throughout the country.
