Elizabeth Ruby Gilmore Stanley
BASIN, Wyo. - Elizabeth Ruby Gilmore Stanley, 82, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the Worland hospital after a short illness.
Visitation will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the Atwood Family Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the Basin Baptist Church with interment in the Mount View cemetery.

Mary Ann Wedin
FRANNIE, Wyo. - Mary Ann Wedin, 71, a resident of Frannie since 1972, passed away on Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Mont., of a short-term illness.
She was born on May 9, 1928, to Walter and Corillia (Lund) Elm. On Oct. 20, 1947, she married Philip C. Wedin in Casper. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1996.
Mrs. Wedin is survived by her son, Bryant Wedin and wife, Sherry of Powell; grandson, Jason Wedin of Sarasota, Fla.; brother, Leonard Elm of Kaycee; and numerous friends and neighbors. "She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her."
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, Powell, with burial to follow in the Frannie cemetery, Frannie. Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home.

Emanuel Zier
Emanuel Zier, 80, passed away Sept. 21, 1999, at Parkview Care Center following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 2, 1918, at Peasebottom, to David and Mary Zier. He attended school in Laurel. He entered the Armed Services in 1943 and received an honorable discharge in 1945.
Emanuel and Helen were married on Sept. 14, 1955. During his lifetime he worked for Gamble-Robinson, the Sanitation Department and Eastern Montana College. He read the Bible faithfully and knew it well. He enjoyed raising a big garden and sharing it with friends and neighbors, along with his home brew.
Emanuel is survived by his wife of 44 years, Helen; a daughter, Barbara Hunsaker of Pleasant Grove, Utah; one brother, Dave Zier of Billings and four sisters: Lydia Rhemes and Molly Maack of Billings, Natalia Lackman of Rialto, Calif., and Helene Miklovich of Lodge Grass. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Emanuel was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sinnard; his parents; and four sisters: Mary Hein, Katie Hein, Elizabeth Zier and Mabel Frickel.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 709 Newman Lane. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Smith's Downtown Chapel Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Casket will be closed at church.
Memorials may be made to Christ The King Lutheran Church, Big Sky Hospice or charity of choice.

Roger C. Fisher
HARDIN - Roger C. Fisher, 74, longtime Big Horn County resident and Pine Ridge area rancher, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, in the Big Horn County Memorial Nursing Home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Lodge Grass, a son of Richard and Agnes Stevens Fisher. He grew up in the Wolf Mountains area and attended the Owl Creek country school. In 1939 his family purchased a ranch in the Pine Ridge area. He worked on area ranches including the Antler, Little OW and the Juell Ottun Ranch from 1939 until 1945.
Roger married Bette Swift on Dec. 31, 1945, in Hardin and the couple made their home on the family ranch on Pine Ridge. He enjoyed spending time working with horses on the ranch. His dedication to his wife, Bette, their son, Bill, and his grandchildren were his greatest joy. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bette; one son, Bill and his wife, Gail of Hardin; his mother, Agnes Fisher of Hardin; a brother, Richard Fisher of Ballantine; and six grandchildren, Heather, Andrea, Chase, Ty, Kari and Michelle.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Tibbs, officiating. Cremation will follow the services with private interment of the ashes at a later date. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Big Horn County Historical Museum Foundation, Hardin, MT 59034.

Bruce John Hablutzel
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Bruce John Hablutzel, 59, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at his residence in Sheridan.
Funeral liturgy will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at Holy Name Catholic Church with The Very Reverend Eugene Sullivan officiating. Graveside committal services will be held at St. Patrick's in Dickinson, N.D., on Monday, Sept. 27. Viewing will be at Champion Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials in memory of Bruce may be designated to Holy Name Parish For The Poor, 9 S. Connor, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Bruce was born on Aug. 19, 1940, in Dickinson, the son of Ulrich and Lucille (Rutten) Hablutzel.
On Aug. 29, 1964, he was united in marriage to Rose Hart in Mandan, N.D. The couple lived in Dickinson until moving to Sheridan in 1986.
Bruce worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 34 years, and at the time of his death was a mechanical foreman. Restoring antique automobiles was his life-long love. Bruce was a quiet man who enjoyed camping out with his family. He also enjoyed motorcycle trips with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, and his son, Patrick William, who died in 1985 at the age of 18.
Survivors include his wife, Rose of Sheridan; one daughter, JoAnn Hablutzel of Sheridan; two sons, Michael Hablutzel of Bothell, Wash., and Brian Hablutzel of Everett, Wash.; his step mother, Evelyn Hablutzel; his sister, Judy Busenbark of Billings, Mont.; two brothers, Gary Hablutzel of Billings, and Robert Hablutzel of Castle Rock, Colo.; his step brother, James Barron of Edmunds, Wash.; and his two step sisters, Diana Bernhardt of Bismarck, N.D., and JoAnne Barron of Mandan, N.D.

Lillian F. Hillius
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Lillian F. Hillius, 88, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Westview Health Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Jensen Funeral Home with interment in the Zion Lutheran cemetery, both in Elgin, N.D. Ferries Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Joshua Evan Hofer
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. - Joshua Evan Hofer, 21/2, of North Platte, son of Julie (Pence) and Joseph Hofer, died Sept. 20, 1999, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
He was born on March 17, 1997, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. His parents named him Joshua which means God of salvation and Evan which means noble warrior and protector.
Survivors include his parents of North Platte; one brother, Brian Andrew Hofer, at home; grandparents, Dick and Nancy Pence of Grand Island and Rachel and Joe Hofer of Huntley, Mont.; great-grandmother, Mary Jane Pence, great-grandparents, Ralph and Vera Stenehjem of Billings, Mont.; and many other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Assembly of God Church with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial in North Platte cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joshua Evan Hofer Memorial Fund.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel.

Laurabelle Jones
CASPER, Wyo. - Laurabelle Jones, 83, formerly of Sheridan, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Central Wyoming Hospice Home.
Viewing will be Thursday, Sept. 23, at Champion Funeral Home in Sheridan. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, in Mount Hope cemetery in Big Horn.

Edwin J. Malsom
Edwin Joseph Malsom, 70, of Billings, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Western Manor after a very brief illness of cancer.
He was born in Strausburg, N.D., on Oct. 21, 1928, a son of Anton and Emila Keller Malsom. He graduated from high school in Strausburg, served in the military a short time, and returned to Strausburg where he taught at a country school. Ed married Phyllis Silbernagel on Feb. 4, 1950. They resided in Bismarck where he worked at a bakery and later moved to Anaconda where he worked in the smelter as a carpenter. They moved to Billings in 1961 where he was employed by Eddy's Bakery for nearly 20 years, later working for Associated Foods for 12 years.
Ed loved to fish and lived for his grandchildren whom he enjoyed so very much. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church for over 36 years.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; one daughter, Marlene Trenk; two sons, Patrick Malsom and Mark and his wife, Rietta Malsom, all of Billings; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Lucy Stuart, Angie Young, Rose Delman, Theresa Herman, Gloria Himmelspach and Mary Olhauser. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Cremation has been held. Memorial Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with inurnment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice, P.O. Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Ruth Mathews
MILES CITY - Ruth Mathews, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at the Friendship Villa Care Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with interment in the Custer County cemetery.

Reva Marie Palmer Glenn
RED LODGE - Reva Marie Palmer Glenn, 89, of Red Lodge, formerly of Minneapolis, Minn., and Forsyth, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 21, 1999, in Beartooth Nursing Home.
Born on Aug. 5, 1910, in Gettysburg, S.D., she was a daughter of William and Pearl Palmer. Reva was raised and educated in Forsyth, where she met James Golden Glenn. They were married on April 2, 1927, in Miles City. They lived in Forsyth before moving to Minneapolis in 1936. The Glenns resided there until settling in Red Lodge in 1989. Mr. Glenn died on Nov. 26, 1995.
During World War II Mrs. Glenn worked at General Mills Arms & Ammunition Plant, scraping burrs off metal parts for the war effort, and she later was employed as a presser and folder at a dry cleaners. She was also an accomplished seamstress.
The most important aspect of her life was simply being with any of her family. She was proud of each and every one of them - none could do wrong in her eyes.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, one brother, and her beloved granddaughter, Darcy Roat.
Survivors include her children: James W. (Carletta) Glenn of Aitkin, Minn., Donald H. (Madeline) Glenn of Red Lodge, and Sharon L. (Brian) Roat of Red Lodge; one sister, Dona Palmer of Plains; two brothers, Robert and Charles Palmer, both of Colstrip; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
"We'll miss you, Mom."
Graveside services are pending in the Forsyth cemetery. Cremation has taken place with the Olcott Funeral Chapel of Red Lodge in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Beartooth Nursing Home, P.O. Box 590, Red Lodge MT 59068.

Beverly J. Phifer
Beverly J. Phifer, 71, of Billings, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Valley Health Care Center.
Private family services are planned. Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist is in charge.

Jean Pistorius
Jean Pistorius, 53, formerly of Miles City, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at her home of lung cancer.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at the Good Shepherd Church in Billings. Additional services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with interment in the Calvary cemetery, both in Miles City. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge.

Terry Lee Farnes Rogina
Terry Lee Farnes Rogina, 49, of Billings, departed loving friends and family on Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital after a long illness of cancer.
She was born in Miles City, a daughter of Robert and Wilma D. Magongil Farnes. Terry was a loving Mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her Father, Robert Farnes; daughter, Tracey L. Rogina Tyler; a grandson, Zachary Tyler; and sisters, Colleen Marr, Robin Miller, Rachelle Potter and Renee Miller; two nephews; a great-nephew; and a great-niece. Terry has been preceded in death by her Mother and her grandparents.
Cremation has been held. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Cremation or Funeral Gallery. Private family scattering of the cremated remains will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Al J. Shorte
WORLAND, Wyo. - Al Shorte, 59, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Washakie Medical Center.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Kingdom Hall. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge.

Ellie Frances 'Frankie' Wakefield
Ellie Frances "Frankie" Wakefield, our beloved mother and friend, was born on Dec. 19, 1930, at Heighberger, Ala., and left us to be with our Father on Sept. 19, 1999.
Frankie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Nannie and Bruce LaGrone; a sister, Doris LaGrone; two brothers, Vernon LaGrone and Bruce LaGrone Jr.; and her son, Stanley R. Crews. She is survived by two sons, Timothy Crews and his wife, Leslie of Billings and their sons, Timothy of Michigan and Tommy of Oklahoma; and Mickey Crews and his wife, Brenda, and Frankie's special grandsons, Jeremy and Mickey, all of Billings; and great-grandson, Timothy of Michigan. She is also survived by three brothers, six sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Nanna treasured her family and spoiled us all with her wonderful desserts and story telling. She liked her flowers, bingo, gardening, baking, traveling, and being around her friends. She will be deeply missed.
"Our mom, friend and Nanna, we love you."
Visitations will begin at the Smith Downtown Chapel on Wednesday morning and continue until 9 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. W., at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, with interment to follow at Terrace Gardens cemetery. Smith Funeral Chapels are in charge of arrangements.
