Harriet Summers Taggart
1907-1999
Dear Aunt Hat,
Thanks for the memories. One of the first I have is the story of how, when you lived at Moss Main, the pony you were riding went under a tree branch to "scrape" you off.
I remember you typing a letter to me when you lived in Rockford, Ill., and saying that, when you misspelled a word, that it was the typewriter's "fault."
We had such great times when I would spend the summers with you in Yellowstone Park. We would meet the deer at the back door of the apartment building in the morning with chunks of dry bread. It seemed that every night after work you had planned something special for us to do.
After you retired and moved to Billings you were part of our family gatherings. I will always remember your fantastic apple pies!! We still have the pie carrier you used.
You fell in love with Michelle the moment you saw her. She was the first baby you ever wanted to hold. One of the very best pictures we have is of the two of you, 22 years later, at her wedding.
I remember you, a few days ago - pink nightgown, white hair, sleeping softly.
Thanks for the memories.
Love, Linda
