Sophie Elliott
Sophie Elliott passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. She was born Dec. 17, 1938, in Garryowen, to Ludwig and Mary Buechler. Sophie married Joseph Elliott July 29, 1961.
She is survived by her husband, five daughters, a stepson, four grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers, numerous friends and Tana.
"As our sorrow begins, your suffering finally ends. Gone now to tend to the flowers of the Gods and drink the coffee of heaven's sweetness. Gone...But are you really gone? How could this be, for every rainbow is a smile of encouragement, each drop of rain a tear to share in our joy or sadness.
Each ray of sun a warm hug when we need it most. Each tiny snowflake a new and precious gift. Each gust of wind to bring the leaves dancing about is a gentle reminder that you are all around us.
No, you are not gone...for you, just as the love you gave, is eternal!"
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Fairview cemetery in Hardin. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Janet M. Foucher
MESA, Ariz. - Janet M. Foucher, 89, formerly of Lewistown, Mont., died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, in Good Shepherd Villa Nursing Home after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, in the Cloyd Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Central Montana Memorial Gardens, both in Lewistown.

Tony E. Gorzalka
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Tony E. Gorzalka, 83, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999.
Vigil services were held Monday, Sept. 13, at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home with interment in the Sheridan Municipal cemetery.

Agnes Holds
CROW AGENCY - Agnes Holds, 83, of Crow Agency, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, in the Big Horn County Memorial Nursing Home.
Bihkiakaatash "Small Mare" was born Dec. 4, 1915, in Crow Agency, a daughter of Sampson Bird in Ground Sr. and Annie Wesley. She was later adopted by Bear Ground and Addie Bear in the Middle. She received her education in Crow Agency.
Agnes married John Holds the Enemy Sr. in Hardin on April 1, 1946, and the couple made their home in the Garryowen area. Mr. Holds died in 1992.
She enjoyed beadwork, sewing for her family and friends and watching horse racing. She was a member of the Catholic Church, Native American Church, Tobacco Society, Greasy Mouth Clan and was a Child of Greasy Mouth Clan.
Survivors include five daughters, Velma (Art), Doris, Joaney (Melvin), Sarah (Henry) and Denise (Levi); five sons, Trunson, Dennis (Nora), Aloysious (Ruby), Jacob (Noreen) and John (Laurena); nine sisters, Evelyn Old Elk, Louise Three Irons, Edna Ethridge, Joy Brien, Verna Pease, Sylvia Stops, Ida Caplett, Inez and Edith Birdinground; six brothers, Phillip Beaumount, Alex LaForge, Glenn, Alex, Sampson Jr. and Clifford Birdinground Sr.; she is also survived by children whom she raised as her own: Carl Leider Jr., Nathel Jefferson, Dora Rides Horse, Larry Old Elk, Howard Shane, Kenneth Plenty, George Reed Jr. and Myron Jefferson; her adopted children include, Fred Oyebi, Burt Hutchison, Brian Brady, Diane Hoffman and Wesley Crooked Arm; her Tobacco Society adopted children include, Tetta Old Bear, Margo, Manny and Birdie Real Bird, Helen and Brenda He Does It; her Tobacco Society Sister, Brenda Fighter; 47 grandchildren and 77 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday 10 a.m. in the Crow Agency St. Dennis Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Custer Battlefield National cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Sylvia Grace Jones
POPLAR - Sylvia Grace Jones, of Poplar, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999. She was 46. Sylvia was born to parents Frank and Annie (Small) Jones on March 18, 1953. She was raised in Poplar and attended schools there. She enjoyed being with her friends and attending Pow Wows. She is survived by one son, Eric Red Dog of Poplar; two brothers, Everett Jones of Poplar and Manfred Jones of Dodson; three sisters, Thelma Jones, Marie Bets His Medicine and Birdie White Hawk, all of Poplar; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ray Bets His Medicine and Philmore Jones; and one sister, Sybil Scott. Funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. Viewing will be at the Catholic Church Wednesday, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at the Riverside cemetery in Brockton. Father Ned Shinnick of Sidney officiating services. Clayton Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Gleda Liles
TERRY - Gleda Liles, 76, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at her home of an apparent heart attack.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Wesleyan Church with interment in the family lot in the Prairie County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

Edward 'Ed' Francis McCully
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Edward "Ed" Francis McCully, 39, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary in Ogden, Utah. Kane Funeral Home is in charge.

Dale Wayne Menefee
LIVINGSTON - Dale Wayne Menefee, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Livingston Memorial Hospital.
Private interment will be in Mountain View cemetery. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home was in charge.

Bobby Gene 'Bob' Miller
LIVINGSTON - Bobby Gene "Bob" Miller died Sunday, Sept. 12, 199, at Livingston Health and Rehab Center after a long illness of cancer.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home with interment in Mountain View cemetery.

Charles A. Morris
PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Charles A. Morris, 74, formerly of Lewistown, Mont., died Sunday, Sept, 12, 1999, at his home near Prescott.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Hillcrest cemetery in Denton, Mont. Creel Funeral Home of Lewistown is in charge.

Goldie Niemi
LUTHER - Goldie Niemi, 78, Luther, died at Beartooth Hospital and Health Care Center Sept. 10, 1999. She was born in Columbus June 24, 1921, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Lukes) Harrison. Goldie attended Draper School and Carbon County High School, She married William "Bill" Niemi Dec. 17, 1938, in a double wedding ceremony with Archie and Elsie (Niemi) Harrison. After their marriage they lived on the West Bench of Red Lodge. The spring of 1943, they moved to Luther, where they ranched and raised their family.
Goldie was the Luther School clerk. She served as election judge for many years. Goldie was a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Beartooth Women's Club, an active club in the 1940's. Goldie was a charter member of the Red Lodge BPO Does, and served as their president in 1966. She was also a member of the Cowbell's. Goldie loved to sew, knit, and crochet, but most of all she loved to travel.
Survivors include her son, Artie Niemi (Berna Jean) of Roy; three daughters, Kay Bauer (Dick) of Luther; Rita Klessens (Gary) of Nanton, Alberta, Canada; and Gale Taffner (Rick) of Wright, Wyo.; eight grandchildren, one step grandchild, and twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Sylvia Chupp of Billings; a brother George Harrison (Helen) of Boyd; and many nieces and nephews. Goldie will be missed by all.
Goldie was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, and three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at the Dahl Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or to the Luther Ambulance Service. Make checks payable to the Red Lodge EMS-Luther QRU, P.O. Box 9, Red Lodge, MT 59068.

William H. (Bill) Pollock
Dec. 19, 1932 - Aug. 29, 1999
AZLE, Texas - Bill Pollock, of Azle, born in Red Lodge, Mont., son of Andrew and Mae (Darrow) Pollock, died in Fort Worth of cancer at the age of 66. He attended school in Red Lodge and worked several jobs, including running the projector at the Roman Theater. Bill moved to Fort Worth at the age of 17. He married Claudia Turner in 1951. He worked as a truck driver and a paint and body repair man.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Dave. Survivors are two daughters, Treasa Green and Maedarrow Cosgrove and one son, Mike, all of Fort Worth; and three grandsons; two sisters, Margaret Cox and husband, Dale of Weippe, Idaho, Alice Newbury of Columbus, Mont.; brothers, Andrew Pollock and wife, Elsie of Billings, Mont., Leroy Pollock and wife, Shirley of Pompeys Pillar, Mont.; one aunt, Jessie Wallis of Red Lodge; numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel, Red Lodge, Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at 1 p.m.

Merland C. Sundheim
NASHUA - Merland C. Sundheim, 76, of Nashua, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow of cancer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nashua with interment in the Froid South cemetery. Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge.

Thelma Mayfield Walker
POWELL, Wyo. - Thelma Mayfield Walker went to be with her Savior on Sept. 11, 1999, at the Powell hospital. She was born March 22, 1913, in Barton County, Mo., to Wesley and Edith Mayfield. She married Edward Sylvester Walker on April 8, 1931. They moved with their three children to Powell in December of 1946. She was a loving wife and mother. After her children were grown she took nurses aide training and worked as a nurses aide at the Powell Nursing Home until she retired in 1979. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Delbert) Troxel of Billings, Mont., and two sons, Eugene (Helen) Walker of Little Rock, Ark., and Wesley Walker of Denver, Colo., nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, husband, and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Powell at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Visitation will be one hour before services at church. Interment at Crown Hill cemetery.

Elsie R. Beswick
Elsie R. Beswick, 99, of Billings, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 10, 1999, at the Evergreen-Billings Health & Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided since 1993.
Elsie was born on Sept. 5, 1900, in Chilhowee, Mo., the daughter of Andrew M. and Annie L.(Mills) Corner. She moved to Hobson in 1911 and married James Henry Beswick in 1917. They moved to Billings in 1933.
During WWII Elsie worked for Purity Bakery, which was later renamed Sweetheart Bakery. In 1945 she and her family bought 10 acres on King Avenue and Orchard Lane, where they raised cows and other livestock, while Elsie continued her work at Sweetheart until her retirement in 1965. The family continued to live on the acreage until 1991. Elsie's husband worked at numerous jobs including 47 years for the Great Northern Railway in Billings.
Elsie is the oldest of six living generations in her family. She is a member of the White Shrine, Eastern Star and the Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Roy Beswick; her daughter, Juanita Hamers; a sister, Minnie Stern; and one great-granddaughter, Willo Obenauer. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Taylor; four grandchildren, Winona Achten, Dotty Brackin, Mike Hamers, and James Hamers; 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great and great-great-great-grandchildren.
Visitations will begin on Wednesday at the Smith Downtown Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, at the Smith Downtown Chapel with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Clarence K. 'Kelly' Blank
CODY, Wyo. - Clarence K. "Kelly" Blank, 87, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at West Park Hospital Emergence Room.
Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Zion Lutheran Church in Emblem. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the church with interment in Burlington cemetery.

Gary Lee Carmony
HELENA - Gary Lee Carmony, 60, passed away Sept. 11, 1999, in Helena after a short illness. Gary was born on April 18, 1939, the third child of Lloyd and Glada Carmony. He attended school in Edgar where he excelled in both basketball and football, and graduated in 1958. Shortly after graduation, he entered the United States Air Force and was stationed in Wiesbaden Germany for three years.
Gary moved to Helena in the early 60's and in August of 1974 married Mary Gail Hanson. He retired in 1991 after 30 years with the Montana Department of Transportation. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing softball.
Gary was preceded in death by both his parents, and a brother, Jim. He is survived by sisters, Iris Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Donna Carmony of Billings. He is also survived by a special friend, Mary Gail, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 13, and Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment will take place at the Rockvale cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial may be made to: Intermountain Deaconess Home of Helena, Montana.

Marc Peter Delaurier
MILES CITY - Marc Peter Delaurier, two-month old son of Marc and Starlaen (Perkins) Delaurier, of Miles City, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Marc was born on July 2, 1999, at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
He is survived by his parents, Marc and Starlaen of Miles City; his grandparents: Glenn and LaVern Perkins of Havre, Jim and Elizabeth Delaurier of Bozeman, and Mary Ann Delaurier of Boynton Beach, Fla.; four brothers: Kable Kain and Hayden Hale Williams, and Christian River and Kyle Glenn Delaurier; a sister, Stormi Rae Williams, all of the family home; two uncles: Peter Delaurier and his wife, Terrie of Denver, Colo., Loren Perkins and his wife, Kwinci of Bozeman; an aunt, Nichcol and her husband, Kevin Harrell of Billings; and several great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins. Marc was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Elmer and Lydia Watters, Loren and Nora Perkins, Everett and Jean Runun, and Roger and Rita Delaurier; his great-uncles, Frank Watters, Ronnie Perkins, Gene Pierce, and Neil and Everett Runyun; and an infant cousin, Lydia Maxine Watters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with Rev. Charles Dameron officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Valley View cemetery in Broadus. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to a charity of their choice.
