Marianne Vallette
Marianne (Annie) Kroh Vallette was born Sept. 16, 1934, to Henry H. and Rachel Cook Kroh. She was the middle child in the family and quickly learned to handle life with her amazing sense of humor. She nurtured and protected her nieces and nephews., and helped her mother raise her little brother when her father died.
In 1962, she met and married Hugh Vallette in Rapid City, S.D. The union was blessed with two children Hugh and Rachelle. She was widowed in 1971 and as a single parent worked several jobs to support her two children. She was able to continue serving people by working at Easter Seals for nearly 16 years. Annie became a Silver Life Master of Bridge in 1987, "1000 points." She taught bridge for Bill Bradshaw's club for several years. She was a "tiger" at the table. Her bridge friends will miss her.
She battled pancreatic cancer for two and a half years, not thinking she was going to win, but battling to live and die with dignity. Annie was such an angel to so many people, that in her time of need, she was able to count on her family and many friends for support. On Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, Annie was finally relieved of her pain and suffering and went to be with her Lord.
Survivors include her Mother Rachel Fossum of Laurel; her sister and very best friend in the world, Junie Lawson of Billings; her brother Jon (Donna) Kroh of Billings, and a sister Lollie (John) Zuck of Laurel. Her cherished children Hugh Vallette of Rapid City, S.D., and Rachelle (Robby) Nevius of McClean, Ill., four grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been held. Memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Church, 717 18th St. W. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice or to the Easter Seal Society. Arrangements by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Emil J. Albus
SACO - Emil J. Albus, 85, died Nov. 27, 1999 at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow of natural causes.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Saco Lutheran Church with burial in Grandview cemetery. Bell Mortuary in Glasgow was in charge.

Lloyd Edward Wheatley
BIG TIMBER - Lloyd Edward Wheatley, 97, passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 1999 at the Pioneer Medical Center.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999 at the Big Timber Lutheran Church. Interment of cremains will take place at a later date in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Winfred D. 'Lightning' Hanson
MARMARTH, N.D. - Winfred D. "Lightning" Hanson, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999 at the family ranch south of Marmarth.
A prayer service will at 7 p.m. Monday, at Stevenson's Funeral Home in Baker. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marmarth with burial in the Butte cemetery south of Marmarth.

Helen Thompson
SIDNEY - Helen Thompson, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston, N.D.
Services will be at 10 a.m. MST and 11 a.m. CST, at the Wilmington Lutheran Church in Arnegard, N.D., with burial in the Wilmington cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour before at the church on Monday, Nov. 29. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney is in charge.

Art Steinmetz
Art Steinmetz died on the afternoon of Nov. 27, 1999, doing the thing he enjoyed the most, tending his cattle. He suffered a heart attack while feeding hay to his calves with his son. He loved the cattle business. It was his livelihood and hobby.
Art was born in Billings, Mont., on June 14, 1925, the son of George and Elizabeth Bell Steinmetz. Art married Marion Louise Lenhardt on June 4, 1950. They farmed and fed cattle together for 49 years. They had three children: Wade (Laura), Carol and Ken (Terri). His wife, children and their spouses, and two grandchildren, Cory and Lauren Steinmetz, survive him. A brother Lawrence, sister Helen Herrig, and brother-in-law Joe Yerger, and several nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Yerger.
Art's quick wit, experience and devotion to family will be missed.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Michelotti, Sawyers and Nordquist chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Christine C. 'Tina' Calkins
GILLETTE, Wyo. - Cremation has taken place and no services are planned for Christine C. "Tina" Calkins, 46 of Gillette. She died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at her home of natural causes.
She is survived by longtime companion Barney Roat, Colstrip; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Calkins of Sheridan, and two brothers, Micheal Calkins of Denver and Mark Calkins of Casa Grande, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit either the animal shelter in Gillette or Sheridan. Donations may be sent in care of Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 734, Gillette, Wyo. 82717.

Rebecca June Claver
LEWISTOWN - Rebecca June "Becky" Claver, 50, died Thursday in St. Vincent Hospital in Billings of cancer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Cloyd Chapel with interment in Central Montana Memorial Gardens of Lewistown.

Joy Craven
COLSTRIP - Joy Craven, 71, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1999, at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth.
Services are pending in Big Fork with interment at the Big Fork cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth is in charge.

Ernest Dent
MILES CITY - Ernest Dent, 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at the Holy Rosary Extended Care.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with interment in Custer County cemetery.

Elsie Engberg
WHITETAIL - Elsie Engberg, 82, died Nov. 23, 1999, at the Daniels Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the Scobey Alliance Church with burial in the Scobey cemetery. Waller Funeral Home is in charge.

Iline Mae George
Iline Mae George passed away at Saint Vincent Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 25, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Mossmain, on May 28, 1929.
She graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1948. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, collecting movies and spending time with her family. Iline was an animal lover and would take in strays and always had dogs and cats. Her current pet is Penny, a poodle she dearly loved.
Iline worked as an accountant at Los Altos Golf Course in Sunnyvale, Calif., until she retired to Billings in 1991.
She is survived by her father George George, of Billings, and two brothers, Harold George of Grand Junction, Colo., and William George of Missoula.
She was preceded in death by her mother Louise George and sisters, Alvena Zimmerman and Ruth Van Luchene.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 537 Grand Ave. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society or Big Sky Hospice.
Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist has charge of arrangements.

Patrick L. Hansen
POWELL, Wyo. - Patrick L. Hansen, 44, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, as a result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident near Cody.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 3, at St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Powell. A memorial service will also be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sanborn, N.D. Cremation has taken place.

Dr. Robbin Raymond Hough
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Dr. Robbin Raymond Hough, 66, of Rochester, died Nov. 25, 1999. Loving husband of Carol. Dear father of Whitney (Marc) Luckett, Eric (Jeanne) Hough, and Tor (Laurie) Hough. Grandfather of Maxine and Ana Mai Luckett, Sydney Hough, and Kelsey Hough.
Dr. Hough received his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was a professor at Oakland University. Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at St. John Fisher Chapel University Parish, 3665 Walton Blvd., Auburn Hills. The family suggests memorials to the Dr. Robbin R. Hough Fund for Global Transformational Thinking, 1142 Main St., Rochester, Mich. 48307. Arrangements are in the care of the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, Rochester.

Nadine Iron
LODGE GRASS - Nadine Iron, 58, of Lodge Grass, passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, in the Crow Agency IHS Hospital.
She was born April 6, 1941, in Crow Agency, a daughter of Moses and Evelyn Coversup Old Bull. She grew up and attended schools in Lodge Grass. Following her education, she became a homemaker.
Nadine married Frank Iron Sr. in Sheridan, Wyo., and the couple made their home in Lodge Grass.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Church, Piegan Clan and a child of the Ties the Bundle Clan. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends, beading and cooking. But she most enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Frank of Lodge Grass; five sons, Ivan (Sherry) Don't Mix, Jr. of Crow Agency, Elvis (Christine) Old Bull of Hardin, Gregory (Roberta) Old Bull, Dean (Tamera) Don't Mix and Darrin (Bobby Jo) Old Coyote of Lodge Grass; four daughters, Sarah (Patrick) Nomee of Crow Agency, Cheryl (Jeffery) Jefferson, Sr., Edwina and Kathleen Don't Mix of Lodge Grass; one adopted son, Leo (Aldean) Good Luck, Jr. of Lodge Grass; 11 sisters, Jennie Big Day of Hardin, Arbutus Coversup, Mavis (Maurice) Mountain Sheep, Donna (Bernard) Jefferson, Billie Jean Old Bull, Alpha Old Coyote, Genevieve Smells, Serena (Fred) Bishop, Margaret Coversup, Clarice Medicine Crow and Regina Gros Ventre of Lodge Grass; nine brothers, Emmett (Leann) Old Bull of Crow Agency, Floyd (Pauline) Old Bull of Box Elder, Bernard (Deliah) Coversup of Maryland, Woodson (Deana) Faraway and Tilton (Sarah) Old Bull of Hardin, Lawrence (Bertha) Old Bull, Benedict Old Bull, Frank Old Bull and Manuel (Linda) Coversup of Lodge Grass; six adopted brothers, Chester (Sharlyn) Nomee, Sr. of Lodge Grass, Gordon (Angelique) Real Bird, Jr. of Billings, Larry (Rhoda) Bright Wings of Ft. Smith, Michael (Berdena) LaForge, Kenneth (Dianna) and Vincent (Laureen) Spint of Crow Agency; seven adopted sisters, Ursula Bad Horse of Billings, Fatima Bad Horse of Wyola, Rena Amyotte and Lauren (Scott) Medicine Horse of Lodge Grass, Patsy (Larry) Yellowtail, Clara Joe and Clarice Eagle Feathers of Crow Agency; 29 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three aunts, Theresa Yapuncich of Wyola, Virginia Coversup and Mildred Old Crow of Lodge Grass; two uncles, William Gros Ventre of Lodge Grass and Elmer Gunshows of Crow Agency, members of the Good Luck Family; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Lodge Grass Catholic Church Gymnasium. Interment will follow in the Lodge Grass cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Clifton C. Nordahl
Clif died of complications of cancer at Deaconess Hospital early Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 25, 1999, surrounded by his wife, daughters and sons-in-law. Thelma was by his side during his last days in the hospital as she was during their entire married life.
Clif Nordahl was born on Sept. 24, 1916, to Silas and Agnes ( Boudy) Nordahl on the ranch that his parents homesteaded west of Molt. He attended Peterson School and Columbus High School, graduating in 1935. On June 7, 1938, he married Thelma Kloster in Livingston. They celebrated their 6lst anniversary this spring and cherished their life together on the ranch, where they lived until the present. Clif loved the land, where he raised wheat and cattle, and he was a faithful steward of all that he had.
Clif is survived by his loving wife and helpmate of 61 years, Thelma; his daughters, Janet (Pat) Mullaney of Billings and Linda (John) Erfle of Kalispell; his brother, Harold (Mary) Nordahl, of Columbus; five grandchildren, Joan (Tom) Schafer of Reno, Nev., Julie (Joshua) Dannenberg of Molt, Kim (Tim) Seidel of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Tim and Joe Erfle of MSU at Bozeman. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Leslie Ann and John Schafer.
Visitation will be at Dahl Funeral Chapel from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, followed by a Prayer Service at 3 p.m.
Services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1108 24 St. West, Billings, at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Park City cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church in Columbus where Clif was a member.

Jennie Lee Olson
WEST FARGO, N.D. - Jennie Lee Olson, 49, formerly of Livingston, Mont., died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at her home in West Fargo.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at the Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston with graveside committal services to follow in Mountain View cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. Tuesday until service time.

George 'Sonny' Reesy
CODY, Wyo. - George C. "Sonny" Reesy, 72, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
A gathering will be held at the VFW in Cody at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Ballard Funeral Home in Cody is in charge of arrangements.

Robert 'Bob' Robuck, Jr.
COLUMBUS - Robert "Bob" Robuck, Jr., 73, of Columbus, formerly of Rapelje, passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at his home.
He was born July 3, 1926, at Columbus, a son of Robert Sr. and Stella Robuck. Bob attended Rapelje High School and graduated in 1949. He served two years as an Army Medic in the Philippines and Korea.
He married Arleeta Pearson on Feb. 28, 1944, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Bob lived and worked many jobs in many states, but Montana was always home. He retired from farming at Rapelje in 1980. He and his wife moved to Columbus, where the love of his life was his wife Arleeta, his kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren and bowling.
He was greatly loved by all and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife Arleeta of Columbus; his children, Gloria (Lon) Riddle of Roundup, Roberta (George) Marsh of Rapelje, Charles (Earlene) Robuck of Rapelje, Vicki (Rick) Wheeler of Ronan, Martin (Trish) Robuck of Rapelje, and Marlene (Ovid) Wren of Corona, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two brothers, Gilbert (Mildred) Robuck of Laurel and Art (Vicky) Robuck of Kennewick, Wash., and one sister, Betty (Charles) Loberg of Stanford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wilbur, a sister Leona Blazer, great grandson Keagan, granddaughter LaDena.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Rapelje Evangelical Church in Rapelje. Interment will be in the Rapelje cemetery. Smith Funeral Chapel-Columbus was in charge of arrangements.

Kristine A. Ryman
GILLETTE, Wyo. - Memorial services have been held in Gillette, and graveside services will be held at a later date in Billings for Gillette resident Kristine A. Ryman, 40. Interment will be held at Mount View cemetery in Billings.
She died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette as a result of cancer. Kristine Ann Ryman was born March 29, 1959, in Billings to Ralph and Karen (Selvig) Torrence. She was raised and educated in Billings. She graduated from West High School in 1977 and then attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings and studied sociology and psychology. She graduated with honors in 1981.
She married Jay Everette in Billings. They had a son Jess and were later divorced. They lived in Cut Bank.
She returned to Billings. She married Ira D. Ryman in Riverton, Wyo., on April 23, 1985. She attended nurse's training. They lived in Lander, Wyo., and moved to Gillette in 1991. She has worked at RENEW since she has been in Gillette.
She was a member of Faith Community Church, enjoyed camping, doing latch hook, reading science fiction and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ira D. Ryman, Gillette; a son Jess Everette and a daughter, Abigail Ryman, both of Gillette; a step son, Nels Ryman of Roberts, Mont.; parents, Ralph and Karen Torrence of Billings; a brother, Doug Torrence of Mt. Vernon, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
A memorial has been established as a scholarship to benefit Abigail and Jess' education. Donations may be sent in care of Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 734, Gillette, Wyo. 82717.
