She was very proud of her Irish heritage and that her family moved from Chicago to Kendall during the gold mining years. In 1920, as the gold mines were closing, she moved with her family to Lewistown. She graduated from Fergus County schools and two years of teachers college. In 1926, the family returned to Chicago, where Kathleen attended business college and worked as a bookkeeper and in administration. She helped care for her parents until their deaths. In 1946, Kathleen relocated to California with her brother, Charles and sister, Elizabeth. While there, she worked for and retired from the Firemen's Fund Company after many years as personnel supervisor. Upon her retirement, she returned to Montana to marry her high school beau, Earl D. Hall, on Feb. 2, 1967. Earl died in 1975.
Kathleen had been a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church since her arrival in Billings. She belonged to a rosary group until ill health prevented her participation. She had many dear friends who appreciated her devotion and kindness. Throughout her lifetime, she loved dancing, chocolate candy, and her rose garden. She was always a very proper lady, perfectly dressed, including the matching hat, until her very few final days following a stroke. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother.
She is survived by her sister, Helen M. Brown Snelling of Saginaw, Mich.; several nieces and nephews in Michigan and in Lewistown; her friends, Albert and Sheila Galen and Kay Stivers of California; and in Billings, she was especially close to Dr. and Mrs. Berl Ward, Maxine Hanson, Darlene Loran and Mary E. Honaker. We thank her caregivers at Westpark Village for their kindness.
