Edmund LittleLight III
CROW AGENCY - Edmund LittleLight III, 53, of Crow Agency, died Sunday Dec. 26, 1999, in the Crow LUS Hospital.
Yellow Plume "Ii-shu-she-shi-lee" was born Oct. 22. 1945, in the Black Lodge District area, the son of Oliver and Elizabeth Hugs.
He graduated from the Chilocco School in 1965 and enlisted in the Vietnam War on Nov. 2 of that same year. He served for 18 months and received his honorable discharge on Nov. 2, 1971, and received a Purple Heart after being wounded. He attended BYU from 1972-1973 and worked for the Utah Indian boarding school in Brigham City, Utah.
Eddie married Annabell Plain Bull on Feb. 28, 1974, in Sheridan, Wyo., and the couple made their home in Crow Agency. He was the veterans director for the Crow Tribe, worked for the AML Management and later as security guard for the Little Big Horn Casino. He was a member of the Pentacostal Church and was adopted by Melton and Dorothy Yellow Mule into Tobacco Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Elizabeth Hugs; his natural father, Bill Gardner and two brothers, Orville and Dennis.
Survivors include his wife, Annabell of the family home; his children, Marc (Phalene) Little Light of Wyola; Tami Little Light of Crow Agency; Lisa (Armand) Martinez of Window Rock, Ariz.; Nissi and Amaris of the family home; sisters, Linda and Sherri Hugs, Samantha (Curtis) Rides Horse of Fort Smith; Betty Gardner, Nellie (Max) Silverhorn, Bertha Old Bull of Lodge Grass; brothers, Leland (Lorraine) Hugs Sr. of Garryowen; Frank (Bernice) Hugs Sr. of Lodge Grass; William (Julie) Hugs Sr. of Hardin; Harvey Hugs of Fort Smith; Tommy (Donna) Gardner and William "Butch't (Shirley) Gardner; four children whom he raised as his own, O'Shon Old Elk, Natasha (Garret) Costa; Joy and Koren Plain Bull. He is also survived by his grandmother, Marie Wallace; one aunt, Audrey Deputtee; one uncle, Ed "Buck Day" LittleLight; nine grandchildren and adopted brother Raymond Pisano.
He was loved by Tonnie Pisano, whom he called his little big sister and she in turn called Eddie little brother.
Funeral services will be held 1p.m. Thursday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will fallow in the Crow Agency cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Johnny W. Johnson
ROBERTS - Roberts-area rancher Johnny W. Johnson, 69, died early Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, of an apparent heart attack at the Johnson Ranch.
Born at Roberts on Oct. 9, 1930, Johnny was a son of Charles and Hilda Hill Johnson. He was raised on the family ranch and graduated from Roberts High School in 1949. Johnny spent the remainder of his life raising cattle on the Johnson Ranch.
He enjoyed ranch life, Western music, and visiting with his friends and relatives. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Bill and Bob Johnson; and one sister, Elsie Johnson.
Survivors include one brother, Donald Johnson of the ranch at Roberts; one sister, Mildred Johnson of Billings and Roberts; one uncle, Bill Hill of Red Lodge; and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, in the Olcott Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge. Interment will be in the Roberts cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Roberts United Methodist Church or the Roberts Community Foundation.

Terry Dustin Hunt
Terry Dustin Hunt, Billings, age 20 years, died on Dec. 24, 1999, in a tragic motorcycle accident.
He was born at St. Vincent Hospital Sept. 1, 1979, the beloved son of Raymond R. Hunt of Billings and Patricia L. (McKeever) Hunt of Las Vegas, Nev., and beloved twin brother of Dan of Billings and brother of Mike and Chris of Las Vegas and Jessie of Billings.
He attended Skyview High School where he graduated in May of 1997.
He was a fun-loving guy who loved to live life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers and friends as well as snowboarding and other outdoor activities. He spent a lot of time with his Rottweiler, Chaos.
In 1996, Terry began working at Corporate Air, building a warm hardworking reputation.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Buck Hunt of Broadview; his uncle, Dan McKeever; uncle Terry D. Ferrel; and uncle, David Dunham.
Survivors include his parents, brothers, grandmother, Jean Hunt of Broadview and grandmother Brenda Pontecello of Las Vegas, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His warm and fun loving personality will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at the Smith Downtown Chapel. Cremation has taken place.

Mary Beth Roberts
MILES CITY - Mary Beth Roberts, 90, died on Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at the Holy Rosary Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Homes is in charge.

Forrest Shade
COLUMBUS - Forrest Shade, 82, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at the Beartooth Manor Care Center in Columbus.
Cremation is planned and family memorial services will be scheduled. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge.

Cheryl Renee Korth
BOZEMAN - Cheryl Renee Korth, 45, passed away Dec. 20, 1999, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1954, to Bob Mead and Joan Wilson at Sioux City, Iowa. Renee graduated from Bozeman High School in 1972 and obtained her BA degree in history from Montana State University in August of 1992.
She met her husband, James Korth while going to school in Lincoln, Neb., where they were married , Aug. 25, 1979, at the Church of the Risen Christ. Renee and Jim moved to Bozeman in 1983 with their two daughters.
Renee is survived by her husband, Jim and daughters, Lisa and Lindsay, both at home; her mother, Joan Wilson of Billings; her father, Rob Mead of Belle Fourche, S.D.; brother, Rob Meade of Brussels, Belgium; sisters, Georgette Hantz of Odessa, Texas; Jody Palmer of Casper, Wyo.; and Danielle Skjelver of Okinawa, Japan; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-law relatives and many friends.
Renee was an avid runner, loved all winter sports and was a gourmet cook. With the help of her husband, she built a business, Renee's Gourmet Sauces of Montana. It has become successful in Bozeman and the surrounding areas. Renee was an accomplished piano player and gave piano lessons for several years, both in Lincoln, Neb., and Bozeman.
Cremation took place at Dahl Crematory. A Vigil service was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, and a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Dec 24, both at Resurrection Parish in Bozeman. Memorials may be made in Renee's name to Gallatin Hospice, 915 Highland Blvd., Bozeman, MT 59715 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1509, Bozeman, MT 59771.

Eva E. Edwards
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Eva E. Edwards, 77, of Sheridan passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at Sheridan Manor. She was born in Harlowton, Mont., on June 21, 1922, to Virgil M. and Fay Cecil (Bristow) Abney. Eva married Harold O. Edwards in Harlowton on Dec. 10, 1939.
Mrs. Edwards moved to Sheridan in 1991 from Harlowton and was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on July 3, 1980.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Edwards of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dennis H. Edwards of Harlowton, Mont.; her daughter, Linda F, Mills of Sheridan; two sisters, Ila (Billie) Schultz of Missoula, Mont., and Alice Skilbred of Shawmut, Mont.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
At Eva's request, no funeral services are to be held. Cremation has taken place. Kane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alta Ver Gotschall
COLUMBUS - Alta Ver Gotschall, 107, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at the Beartooth Manor in Columbus. She was born Dec. 8, 1892, in Pumpkin Creek, Neb., a daughter of Eli and Flora McIntyre.
As a young girl, Alta traveled in a covered wagon with her parents and brother from Nebraska to Montana. They found a place they loved and made their homestead northwest of Custer.
Alta married Frank Gotschall in Hysham on Aug. 24, 1921. They had three children, Anise, John and Ruth. From Hysham the family moved to Columbus in 1942.
Alta was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Hysham and in Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her three children, Anise (and Harold) Tjaaland, John Gotschall, Ruth Scott, and a brother Perce McIntryre.
Alta was a very special person with a great sense of humor. She loved music and was very talented at playing the piano and the violin. She will be greatly missed by her entire family.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Fran Gotschall of Custer; a son-in-law, George Scott of Missoula; 10 grandchildren, Sharon Prokip and Gary Gotschall of Custer; Janine Gotschall, Tanya Ordahl, and Shane Tjaaland of Columbus; Karen Munro of Helena; Connie Beumer of Golden, Colo.; Diane Llewellyn of Missoula; Bob Scott of Butte; Mike Scott of Bismarck, N.D.; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Columbus Community Congregational Church. Interment will be in the Mountainview cemetery.

Wanda Kay Dickinson
BASIN, Wyo. - Wanda Kay Dickinson, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Visitations will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the Atwood Family Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Basin Ward. Interment will follow in the Mount View cemetery. Atwood Family Funeral Directors, Inc. is in charge.

Vera Marie Homewood
FRANNIE, Wyo. - Vera Marie Homewood, 76, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, in the Deaver Methodist Church in Deaver. Viewing will be 12:30-1:30 at the church. Interment will be in the Deaver cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge.

Earl Ervin West
GLASGOW - Earl Ervin West, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital of natural causes.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Bell Chapel. Interment will in Highland cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge.

Myrtle Hultgren
Myrtle K. Hultgren, 94, wife of Dr. M.L. Hultgren of the Billings Westpark Retirement Village and former resident of Bozeman, passed away quietly from natural causes on Dec. 25, 1999, in Billings.
She was born the second of seven children to Edwin and Cecilia Kielmeyer of Faribault. Minn. After graduating from Faribault Public Schools, she took courses in teachers normal training prior to teaching school for three years.
Not long there after, she became an office secretary and X-ray technician for Dr. H.T. Skovalt at Williston, N.D. While there she met and later married Melvin Hultgren, a chiropractor at Bozeman. While at Bozeman they practiced drugless healing for 50 years before retiring to Billings.
Their professional and business accomplishments have become somewhat noteworthy in that several Hultgren nephews are now practicing in three neighboring states with a couple of those practitioners located in Billings.
Surviving include her husband of Billings and a sister, Ordella Krueger of Sparta, Wis.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 at the Sunset Hills cemetery in Bozeman. Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service of Bozeman in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children; P.O. Box 2472; Spokane, Wash. 99210-2472, or the charity of choice.

Marguerite Solberg
Marguerite Solberg, 101, of Billings, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999 at Valley Health Care Center. Miss Solberg was born July 15, 1898, at Churchs Ferry, N.D. There she was raised on a farm and graduated from Churchs Ferry High School in 1917. She attended Mayville State Teachers College and later received her B.A. degree from Rocky Mountain College in 1940.
After teaching in North Dakota a few years, she moved to Billings. She taught fourth grade at Taft School from 1924 until 1952. She then taught at North Park School until her retirement in 1962. Marguerite resided at Sage Towers from 1983 until three days before her death.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Delta Kappy Gamma Society, and National Retired Teacher Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Kristi Solberg; three brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Susan Hawkinson, Bozeman; Glenn Solberg, Donna Solberg, Carol Hart, Faye Siegle, Richard Solberg, Jan Jelliff, and Scott Braeger.
A memorial service will be held in Churchs Ferry at a later date.

Juanita Bell
COEUR D' ALENE, Idaho - Juanita C. Bell, 83, of Coeur d'Alene, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. She was born May 19, 1916, in Molt, Mont., to Hiram and Mary Chestnut.
She attended schools in Molt and Billings. She married James Larson in 1934 and they later divorced. At the beginning of WWII she moved to Southern California and worked in the aircraft factories. In 1948, she married Frank Bell. In 1952, they moved to Montana where she worked as a sales clerk at Hart Albins. From 1971 until 1978 they lived in Salt Lake City where she worked for J.C. Penneys.
They moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1989 where she enjoyed volunteering at the Coeur d'Alene Senior Center. Her husband preceded her in death in 1991.
She is survived by a son, Randy Bell of Coeur d'Alene; a daughter, Donna Reider of Ventura, Calf.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th Street West, Billings, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Smith West Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
