Marcia Anne Trainer
FALLBROOK, Calif. - Marcia Anne Trainer "Marcy" "The Avocado Lady, " 64, died on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999. She was born on Oct. 15, 1935, in Billings. She had been the office manager for Korody Marine/Lockheed for 22 years when she retired in 1987. Marcia was a member of the Edna Hedges Chapter of Eastern Star and the Fallbrook Quilt Guild.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry D. Trainer of Fallbrook; her mother, Dorothy O'Conner of Billings; one son, Michael D. Trainer of Sacramento; one daughter, Michele R. Jensen of Bakersfield; brothers, Donald R Woodley of Huntsville, Ala., and Richard J. Woodley of Elk Grove; sisters, Judith Alper of Oakland and Linda Oftedal of Casper, Wyo.; and four grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Jensen, and Kristen and Alex Trainer.
Memorial services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 13, at Berry-Bell & Hall Chapel. Pastor Robert Cunningham of Fallbrook Presbyterian Church officiated. Private inurnment has taken place in National Memorial cemetery in Honolulu.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, NCICFUL, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454; the Fallbrook Hospital Hospice, 624 E. Elder St. Fallbrook, CA 92028; or The Quilt Guild-Hospital Quilt Program, P.O. Box 1704, Fallbrook, CA 92088.
Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary was in charge.

Theodore (Ted) Krausz
LEWISTOWN - Theodore (Ted) Krausz, age 84, of Lewistown formerly of Miles City, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at the Montana Mental Health Home Care Center in Lewistown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot in Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.

Keith H. Zeeb
Keith H. Zeeb, 39, of Billings, passed away on Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at his home of heart failure.
Keith was born in Highland, Ill., on Oct. 7, 1960, a son of Harold "Tat" and Imogene "Imie" Zeeb. He received his primary, secondary and college education in Illinois and on Aug. 6, 1983, married Montana native Valerie Rolfes in Bellevil1e, Ill. Together they moved to Montana in March of 1991, settling in Billings where Keith served as executive chef at the Holiday Inn Grand for four years. He later worked as assistant director for ARA Services with School District No. 2 and in 1996 took a position with MSU-Billings as the instructor of culinary arts where he founded their Hospitality Management program.
Mr. Zeeb received numerous culinary awards but was most proud of the compliments and tie clasp given to him by President George Bush for the meals he prepared and served during a re-election campaign stop through Billings.
Keith is survived by his wife, Valerie; a son, Ian Cody; two daughters, Mariah Rolfes and Alice Hesse, all of Billings; his father, Pat Zeeb and his wife, Barbara; two brothers, Kevin and his wife, Linda and daughter, Morgan of Morton, Ill., and Kurt Zeeb of Trenton, Ill.
Visitations will begin Wednesday afternoon at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. West. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. on Thursday, Dec. 23, at the Smith West Chapel with interment in Belleville. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be sent to the family at 3344 St. Johns Ave., Billings, MT 59102.

Louisa Bostyancic
WIBAUX - Louisa Bostyancic, 98, of Wibaux, formerly of Golva, N.D., and Hibbing, Minn., died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, in Wibaux.
Visitation will be held at 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Beach, N.D. There will be a funeral Mass in Hibbing, Minn., at a later date with burial in Maple Hill cemetery in Hibbing. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach, N.D., is in charge of local arrangements. Dougherty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Hibbing.

Arthur Boyum
NASHUA - Arthur Boyum, 91, died on Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital of natural causes.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with interment in Highland cemetery in Glasgow. Bell Mortuary is in charge.

Mrs. Helen Lewis Beebe
MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - Mrs. Helen Lewis Beebe, 89, former Billings resident, died Monday at Miami Shores following a massive heart attack.
She was married to George Beebe, a former Gazette editor, in Billings on Aug. 14, 1938, and they resided in Billings until moving to Florida in 1943. Mr. Beebe, who became assistant publisher of the Miami Herald, died in 1990.
Mrs. Beebe was born Sept. 2, 1910, at Fremont, Neb., a daughter of Oscar and Nettie Lewis. She later moved to Sterling, Colo., and attended the University of Wyoming. She graduated from Northwestern University School of Speech before coming to Billings, where she was a teacher at Billings Senior High School in 1937 and 1938. Later, she was a teacher in Miami Beach.
She is survived by a sister, Mildred Reed of Billings; a brother, O.D. Lewis of Castle Rock, Colo.; three nieces and four nephews. Memorial services will be conducted Dec. 28, 1999, at Miami Shores.

Leslie Jean Cummins
Leslie Jean Cummins was born Dec. 1, 1962 and died Dec. 17, 1999 after a courageous battle with cancer. Leslie was born in Billings, to Rudolph and May Eunice Cummins.
She attended Huntley Project Schools through her sophomore year, Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyo. her junior year and graduated from Billings West High Schoo1 in 1981. Leslie graduated from Billings Business College Oct. 1989 and was employed there through Nov. 1997, leaving due to illness.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with her family.
She was active in Girl Scouts, a member of Order of Rainbow for Girls, A Grand Cross of Color Recipient, Past Matron of Jephtheh Chapter No. 116 Order of Eastern Star, Rough Riders and a very inspirational and active member of the Northern Rockies Cancer support group..
She participated in the Relay for Life in August 1999.
She is survived by her parents, three sisters, Mrs. Ruth (Don) McKenzie, and Mrs. Patricia (Dave) Beddes both of Worden; Mrs. Beverly (Geary) Bargas of Conrad, and one brother, Mr. Bill (Joanne) Cummins of Billings; and a maternal grandmother, Mary Sandborn, of Worden, and numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Thomas Sanborn and her paternal grandparents, Arthur and Lucy Cummins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Smith West Chapel. Interment will be at Pleasantview cemetery in Ballantine. Memorials to the Northern Rockies Cancer Center or the Relay for Life, c/o American Cancer Society.

Marilyn Mae Rux
Marilyn Mae Rux, 62, of 3109 Flamingo Way passed away peacefully, Saturday, Dec. 16, 1999, surrounded by her family at their home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 31, 1937 in Billings, the daughter of Charles and Nannie (Eklund) Eastlick. She was raised in Park City, Mont., and graduated from Park City High School in 1955.
Marilyn then went to work at Yellowstone Bank in Laurel and in 1959 began working at Security Bank in Billings, now the First Interstate Bank where she was currently Vice President of the Compliance Dept. for Montana. January 20, 1999 she was given Employee of the year Award for outstanding Compliance Management, Crisis Management, Phone Handling, Meeting Juggling, Remaining Calm, Cool and mostly collected in the face of rush jobs, long hours and short tempers.
Marilyn married Robert 'Larry' Rum, Nov. 5, 1960 in Laurel, Mont.
She enjoyed dogs, birds, sewing, yardwork, her family and her grandchild.
Marilyn was a member of the Career Club at Hennesy's, and an Officer of Financial Women's International.
Survivors include her son, Stephen A. Rux and wife Lynda and her grandson, Caleb J. Rux all of 3109 Flamingo Way; her sisters, Marlene (Dale Patterson of Billings, and Phyllis (Frank) Herman of Newport Beach, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry in 1985 and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at l0 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22nd at Smith Downtown Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2116 Broadwater Ave. Billings or the Big Sky Hospice, P.O. Box 35033 Billings, MT 59107.

Print Scott Spotted Bear
TIAWAH, Okla. - Funeral service for Tiawah resident, Print Scott Spotted Bear, will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at the New Hope Church of God with Pastors Rod Costner and Dewitt Teehee officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Baptist cemetery, east of Jay, under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service.
Print died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Inola Health Care Center at the age of 35.
Print Scott Spotted Bear was born in Kingsville, Texas, on May 13, 1964. This son of Melton and Flo Spotted Bear grew up in Indian Country Pryor, Mont. Print was of 1/2 Mandan-Hidatsa and 1/2 Cherokee Blood. He learned traditional Indian ways from his grandmother, Emma Coffee Smells, and was rich in his Indian heritage. He learned Native American culture and attended St. Charles Church and school in Pryor, Mont. as a youth. He also attended Plenty Coups High School in Pryor.
As a young adult he learned how to ride and train racehorses, where he and his father worked together. His Indian name means, "Likes His Horses". He participated in Sundance for spiritual healing and prayers for all the family. He loved to tell stories about the old Indian Days of what elders had told him. He learned to dance the Traditional Crow dance and won many first places. Print loved to meet people and respected everyone's ways. He was well traveled to Pow-Wows across Indian country and would not have a dime in his pocket, yet had the most interesting experiences to tell his family.
Print was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Scott Tanner and Sallie Owens Tanner of the Piney community near Jay, Okla.; and his paternal grandparents, Emma Coffee and Theodore Spotted Bear of Elbow Woods, N. D.
He is survived by his son, Print "Scotty" Spotted Bear Jr. of Pryor, Mont; daughter, Teranne Spotted Bear of Fairfax, Okla.; girlfriend, Peggy Wolf of Tulsa; parents, Melton and Flodell Tanner Spotted Bear of Tiawah; sisters: Island Spotted Bear, and Emma Sallie Spotted Bear of Claremore; brother, Taten Spotted Bear of Claremore; and half-brother, Melton Spotted Bear Jr. of Pryor, Mont. He has aunts and uncles and many cousins whom he called "Brothers" from Pryor and Billings, Mont. He also has aunts and uncles and many cousins from near Jay and Grove, Okla.; and a host of close friends who loved and respected him.

Sandra Arcele Creamer
CHARLES TOWN, W. Va. - Sandra Arcle Creamer, 43, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, in Brunswick, Md.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 20, at the Wainwright Baptist Church in Charles Town. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beach, N. D. Interment will take place in the City cemetery in Beach. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach is in charge.

Robert L. (Bob) Phillips
RED LODGE - Robert L. "Bob" Phillips, 70, longtime Red Lodge resident, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1 999, at Red Lodge.
A son of early Italian and Welsh immigrants, Joseph and Beatrice Ralph Phillips, Bob was born July 24, 1929, at Red Lodge.
"Big Bob" attended Red Lodge schools and then served with the U. S. Army as a combat engineer during the Korean War. Upon his discharge in 1953, Bob drove truck for the Red Lodge Brewing Company, the Red Lodge Canning Company, and then faithfully served the city of Red Lodge for 36 years. On Oct. 23, 1954, he married Pierina E. Boggio in Red Lodge and raised his family there.
He is survived by wife, Pierina of the family home; daughter Jeannie (Dennis) Purcell of Red Lodge; sons William(Carla) Phillips of Forsyth; Robert (Julie) E. Phillips, Elko, Nev.; Fred (Joyce) Phillips of Red Lodge; Thomas (Chris) Phillips, U.S. ARMY, Fl.; Jerry(Karen) Ransdell of Mesquite, Nev.; Richard (Donna) Ransdell of Great Falls; and James (Bonnie) Ransdell of Red Lodge; a brother, Jimmy Phillips of Red Lodge; sister Sarah Bell of Pasco, Wash.; and17 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Frank, Joe, and Richard Phillips and a sister Pauline Bell.
Bob was a 47-year member of the American Legion and was a past Post 17 commander and a past district 11 commander. Bob enjoyed the quiet times at home, a good joke and especially his time spent with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22 in the Olcott Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Red Lodge cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the American Legion Carbon Post 17 Scholarship Fund, Box 916; or to St. Agnes Catholic Church, Box 1067, both in Red Lodge, MT 59068.

Maureen Ann (McCormick) Petersen
MISSOULA - Maureen Ann (McCormick) Petersen, 58, of Missoula, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at St. Patrick Hospital, after a long, courageous bout with cancer.
She was born on April 17, 1941, in Helmville to Thomas Jefferson and Mary Eva (Metzinger) McCormick. As a young girl, Maureen spent many hours helping her father on the Helmville ranch her grandfather homesteaded, a place that remained the love of her life. Maureen attended grade school at St. Mary's Academy in Deer Lodge and high schools in Butte and Missoula. Maureen also attended college in Washington State and received a b.a. in art.
Maureen married Elmer George Petersen in 1962. The couple lived in Helmville, Missoula and Canada. Elmer preceded Maureen in death on March 30, 1980.
Maureen was a very talented western and wildlife artist, known nationally and in other parts of the world, such as Japan and Canada. She won many blue ribbon awards and recognition at county fairs and art shows throughout Montana.
Maureen was a great outdoorswoman with a passion for everything from gathering mushrooms and huckleberries to fishing and big game hunting, If it could be eaten, Maureen knew how to catch it and cook it.
She had packed into the Bob Marshall Wilderness area numerous times, and hunted and fished all over the western U.S. and Canada.
In 1984, Maureen met her lifetime partner, Tobias Wanner, and together they shared their love of horses by raising them together in Missoula. Toby filled Maureen's dreams, and with him she achieved everything she wanted.
A beloved and esteemed person, Maureen enjoyed her many friends and brought many different people together under her broad roof. We will surely miss her.
Survivors include her husband, Tobias Wanner; her daughter, Christine Perry of Denver, Colo.; her son, Thomas I. Petersen of the Helmville area; Christine's children1 Joanna, Brent and Eva Blake; Thomas' daughter, Elora Kate Petersen; and Toby's granddaughter, Kirstina Wanner.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 23., at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Helmville.
The family suggests memorials to local humane societies throughout Montana. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory, Missoula.

Irving Flying
LODGE POLE - Irving Flying, 85, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
Wake service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Medicine Bear Lodge. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Medicine Bear Lodge with burial in the Big Warm cemetery at Lodge Pole. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge.

Chris Kraft
FLORENCE, Colo. - Chris Kraft, 88, formerly of Sheridan, Wyo., died on Monday, Dec. 6, 1999.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Elks cemetery in Sheridan with military honors. Kane Funeral Home is in charge.
