Edith Williams Wells
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Edith Williams Wells, 98, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, in Buffalo, Wyo.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 27, at Millward Mortuary. Services will be held at 2 p.m. from the Epworth United Methodist Church with interment in the Lexington cemetery.

John Marion Abraham
LOVELL, Wyo. - John Marion Abraham was born Dec. 13, 1939, in Lovell, Wyo. to George M. Abraham and Margaret Watson-Abraham. John was the youngest of six children. John passed away on Dec. 15, 1999, from a heart attack, doing what he enjoyed most, working with agriculture on his farm.
During his lifetime, John had numerous accomplishments. In high school, he served as a Wyoming state Farmer, member of the National FFA Band and State FFA reporter. He attended Snow College in Ephriam, Utah, on a football scholarship. While there, he received an honorable mention Junior College All-American. Later, he attended Utah State University in Logan. In 1972 and 1975, John was nominated "Outstanding Young Farmer of Wyoming". He served on the State Board of Agriculture for five years and was named Outstanding Youn Farmer of America in 1976 and 1977. He was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as Elders Quorum President, member of the bishopric, the Stake High Council and Bishop. He also served as Stake President of the Lovell, Wyo., Stake for over nine years. John was happiest when he was in the service of others.
John married his eternal sweetheart, Ester Sue Steck, on June 23, 1961, in the Salt Lake City temple. After marriage, John fulfilled many life accomplishments including the marriage to the love of his life, being the proud father of ten children, the grandfather of 24 grandchildren, and owner of the largest dairy/sugar beet farm in Wyoming. His wife, Sue, and ten children: Craig, Curtis, Jill, Brook, Trenton, Miria, Tiffany, Amber, Melisa, and Kara survive him. He also leaves 22 grandchildren, his sisters Norma Hessenthalar, Naomi Briggs, Margie Schweitzer, and brother George Abraham. John will always be remembered, loved and admired by his friends and family. He was a pillar in the community and the rock of his family.
His work here on earth was finished, his work there has just begun. He was our father, our example, and most of all, our very best friend.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at the Byron Ward Chapel of the LDS Church with burial following in the Byron cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.

Kermit 'Kerm' Shultz
BALLANTINE - Kermit "Kerm" Shultz, 73, of Ballantine, passed away Dec. 18, 1999, in St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born May 25, 1926, in Manderson, Wyo., a son of Harold B. and Mahala Sykes Shultz. He attended various schools in Wyoming and joined the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.
He drove truck for Salt Creek Freightways for many years, retiring in 1984. His free time was spent hunting, fishing, camping and anything to do with horses and rodeo. Kerm also loved his time spent as a member of the Worden Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Marge, of 20 years; three daughters, Vicki Tanner of Marion, Ill., Susan Beard (David) of Sheridan, Wyo., and Kathy Wilkes (Kevin) of Billings; a son, Mike Nelson (Nancy) of Powell, Wyo.; three stepchildren, Sam Bechtold (Shari) of Cheyenne, Wyo., Joette Daugherty (Roger) of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Marlene Belgarde (Frank) of Helena; two aunts, Georgia Sykes of Powell, Wyo., and Eunice Wolfe of Pottsville, Pa.; numerous grandchildren; and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Iola "Dolly" Craft on June 25, 1989; a son, Tommy and a daughter, Roxanne.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at the VFW Hall in Worden with Rev. Tony Hatzenbuehler presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Worden Fire and Ambulance. Cremation or Funeral Gallery was in charge of cremation.

Joan Johnson
STORY - Joan Johnson, 64, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at her home.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Kane Funeral Home. Kane Funeral Home is in charge.

Lloyd B. Herman
Lloyd B. Herman of Billings, passed away on Dec. 19, 1999. He was born to Benjamin and Frieda Herman on April 28, 1925, in Niagara, N. D. He attended school in Niagara and graduated in 1943. On Aug. 12, 1943, Lloyd entered the Air Force, serving in Europe as a gunner on a B-24 Liberator with the 453rd Bomb group. Comple-ting 46 missions, he was awarded the Distinguished Cross and Air Medal and on Oct. 12, 1945, at the rank of staff sgt., he was honorably discharged.
Lloyd married Darlyne Grady in June of 1950. In 1957, they moved from Valley City, N. D., to Billings where he began a career at Modern Machinery (then Industrial Equipment) which spanned 32 years. On Aug. 13, 1971, Lloyd married Irene Besel. He was a 30-year member of the American Legion.
Following his retirement in 1991, Lloyd enjoyed spending time with his friends and activities with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who was always supportive of his family and friends. We will miss you.
Mr. Herman was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harvey; and sisters, Lilah and Irma. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Irene; sons, Earl (Julie) Herman, Scott (Peggy) Herman, and Daryl Besel; daughters, Pam (Jess) Jackson and Sandy(Buddy Schroder) Besel; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth (Manville) Ulland, Millie (Dick) Moens and Verraine (Darth) Surface.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th Street West. Cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion, American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.

Lois Daniels
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Lois Daniels, 71, of Sheridan, Wyo., passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 1999 at WestView Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999 at Kane Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Elks cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Whedon Cancer Foundation in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY 82801. Kane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marilyn Mae Rux
Marilyn Mae Rux, 62, of 3109 Famingo Way, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, surrounded by her family at their home following a courage battle with cancer.
She was born May 31, 1937 in Billings, the daughter of Charles and Nannie (Eklund) Eastlick. She was raised in Park City, Mont. and graduated from Park City High School in 1955.
Marilyn then went to work at Yellowstone Bank in Laurel and in 1959 began working at Security Bank in Billings, now the First Interstate Bank where she was currently Vice President of the Compliance Dept. for Montana. January 20, 1999 she was given Employee of the year for outstanding Compliance Management, Crisis Management, Phone Handling, Meeting Juggling, Remaining Calm, Cool and mostly collected in the face of rush jobs, long hours and short tempers.
Marilyn marred Robert "Larry" Rux, Nov. 5, 1960 in Laurel, Mont.
She enjoyed dogs, birds, sewing, yardwork, her family and grandchild.
Marilyn was a member of the Career Club at Hennesy's, and an Officer of Financial Women's International.
Survivors include her son, Stephen A. Rux and wife Lynda and her grandson, Caleb J. Rux all of 3109 Flamingo Way; her sisters, Marlene (Dale) Patterson of Billings, and Phyllis (Frank) Herman of Newport Beach, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry in 1985, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at Smith Downtown Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2116 Broadwater Ave., Billings or the Big Sky Hospice, P.O. Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107.

Faye B. Rook
Faye B. Rook of Billings, passed away Saturday at Aspen Meadows Nursing Home. She was born May 23, 1913 in McCone County. Faye taught school for 35 years in Montana and Iowa.
Private memorial service is planned at a later date. Cremation was held at Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Marie 'Doodles' Liming
BROADUS - Marie "Doodles" Liming, age 97, of Broadus passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999 at her daughters home in Missoula.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Interment will follow in the Valley View cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Broadus is in charge of arrangements.

Miles Bartholomew
MILES CITY - Miles Bartholomew, 40, of Miles City passed away on Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999 at his home in Miles City.
Prayer services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999 in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of arrangements.

Minnie E. Simanton
MATLA - Minnie E. Simanton, 90, died at the Phillips County Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999 of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999 at the Malta Lutheran Church with burial in the Malta cemetery. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.

Arthur Keres
EUGENE, Ore. - Arthur Keres, 94, of Eugene, Ore., formerly of Crow Agency, passed away Dec. 16, 1999 in Eugene.
He was born Nov. 5, 1905, in Saxony, Germany, a son of Richard and Dupsthoefz Keres. He moved to the Crow Indian Reservation in 1926 and operated a bakery in Lodge Grass, before moving to Crow Agency in 1945, where he also operated a bakery.
Art "the baker" was a avid skier and outdoorsman. He enjoyed the many trips with the members of the Very Cold Duck Ski Club. Even though he was one of the older skiers, his skiing form was a delight to watch. He spent countless hours skiing in the Wolf Mountains.
He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1943 to 1945 in the Pacific Theater.
Art married Eura Ball on July 21, 1930 in Salinas, Kan.; and the couple made their home in Crow Agency. Mrs. Keres died in 1966.
He is survived by his close friend Vivienne Zettle, the Zettle family and members of the Very Cold Duck Ski Club.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999 in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in the Custer Battlefield National cemetery in Crow Agency. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin is in charge of the arrangements.

Clifford C. Aagard
BURLINGTON, Wyo. - Clifford C. Aagard, 83, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999 at the Burlington L.D.S. Chapel. Interment will be in the Burlington cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell, Wyo. is in charge of arrangements.

Ralph F. Lee
GLENDIVE - Ralph F. Lee, 71, of Glendive, Mont., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999 at his home in Glendive,
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999 at Dawson County cemetery in Glendive. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is in charge of arrangements.

John M. Abraham
BYRON, Wyo. - John M. Abraham, 60, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell of an apparent heart attack.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 19 at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell. Funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m., in the Byron L.D.S. Chapel. Interment will be in the Byron cemetery.

Helmer A. Ophus
GREAT FALLS - Helmer A. Ophus, 79, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999.
A memorial service will be held at the Hinsdale American Legion Hall, in Hinsdale, Mont., on Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Hillview cemetery in Hinsdale.
O'Connor Funeral Home of Great Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Bernard Joseph Yablonski
FORSYTH - Bernard Joseph Yablonski, age 73, of Forsyth passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at the Rosebud County Nursing Home in Forsyth.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, from 1-6 p.m., in the Chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Forsyth cemetery.

Patterson Jones Schmidt
MIAMI, Fla. - Patterson Jones Schmidt, 65, of Key Biscayne, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, in her home after a short illness.
Patter was born on Jan. 26, 1934, in Billings to Robert R. and Frances (Bearss) Jones. Well-known locally as a gifted pianist, she attended local schools and Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. In 1954, she married Herbert Schmidt of Riverside, Ill., and had four children before moving to Miami in 1967, where she taught piano. She returned to Billings every summer to visit the family cabin in Red Lodge.
In the past decade, she traveled with her family around the world to destinations including India, Turkey, Guatemala, Austria, England, Thailand, Singapore and Italy.
Survivors include two daughters, Gretchen and Ann; two sons, Robert and James; and three grandchildren: Katie Sullivan, and Kristina and Ricky Schmidt, all of Miami. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Cremation was held in Miami. Her remains will be scattered in Red Lodge.

Ralph Ammerman
LIVINGSTON - Ralph Ammerman, 69, of Livingston died Friday evening, Dec. 17, 1999, at the Livingston Memorial Hospital after a battle with cancer.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 20 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 21 from 9 to 12 a.m., and 1 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 1:30 p.m., at the chapel of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, 118 N. 3rd St. Graveside committal services will follow in Park View Gardens.
