Worth Crews Potts
ALTA LOMA, Calif. - Worth Crews Potts, age 86, of Orange County, Calif., formerly of Sidney, Mont., died Thursday, Dec. 15, 1999, at his home in Alta Loma, Calif.
Private graveside service will be held at the Lavina, Mont., cemetery. Smith's Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Arthur Keres
EUGENE, Ore. - Arthur Keres, 94, of Eugene, Ore., formerly of Crow Agency, passed away Dec. 16, 1999.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in the Custer Battlefield National cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Arthur H. Fehrenkamp
BOZEMAN - Arthur Henry Fehrenkamp, 91, of Bozeman, passed away on Dec. 17, 1999. Cremation will take place at Dahl Crematory. Graveside memorial service and interment of ashes to take place next summer.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Shrine Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 2472, Spokane, WA, 99210-2472.

Maureen (McCormick) Petersen
MISSOULA - Maureen (McCormick) Petersen, 58, of Missoula, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at St. Patrick Hospital.
Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory of Missoula.

Amelia Ann Giesick
BRIDGER - Amelia "Millie" Giesick, 69, of Bridger, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, from complications of asthma. Millie was born in Billings, the daughter of Henry E. and Anna Elizabeth Strecker Lackman. She was schooled in Billings and married Morris Giesick on Dec. 28, 1951, in Billings. In 1958, they moved to Bridger to farm. She loved her family and enjoyed life, especially her grandsons, playing cards, cooking and her flower gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Morris of Bridger; two daughters, Karen (Mike) Maddaus of Laurel and Gail (Paul) Steinmetz of Edgar; one son, Mark (Dianne) Giesick and grandsons Clinton and Clayton, all of Bridger; two sisters, Martha Ewell of Salt Lake City and Helen (Bob) Carney of Great Falls and numerous nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Kay; two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bridger with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the Bridger Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangments were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Donald W. Bolenske
LAUREL - Donald W. Bolenske, 79, died of natural causes at his home in Laurel, Mont., on Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999.
Don was born and raised in Edgar, Mont. There he was captain of the basketball team and graduated as valedictorian of his class. Later, Don attended business school in Grand Island, Neb.
Don began farming in the Edgar area. It was there that he married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy, and together they started raising their family of four children. In 1954, Don moved the family to his father's farm north of Laurel. Here he continued to farm until his retirement.
Don enjoyed keeping track of his family, visiting with his many friends, pitching horseshoes, dancing and writing.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Ottilia; his sister, Letha; brother, Quentin (Cap) and his wife, Dorothy.
He is survived by his sister, Lillian Dietz of Joliet; his brother, Andrew Bolenske of Billings; three sons, Don Bolenske, Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Goochland, Va., Bill Bolenske of Oakland, Calif., Fred Bolenske and his wife, Sharon of Laurel, and one daughter, Jeanne Bolenske Wolf and her husband, Gary of Helena, Mont. Don is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Grandchildren are Jody Bolenske, Rachel Bolenske, Donnie Bolenske, Mike Bolenske, Tammi Bolenske-Nuckols, Kelsey Wolf and Kyle Wolf. Great grandchildren are Kyle Bolenske, Ryan Bolenske, Laykin Walker and Lauren Kuckols.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel, from 6 to 9 p.m., Sunday Dec. 19. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 20 at Rockvale cemetery, where Don will be buried next to his wife, Dorothy.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Alvina C. (Zimmer) Olson
Alvina C. (Zimmer) Olson passed away in Billings on Dec. 17, 1999. Alvina was born on July 19, 1911 to George and Christina (Metzger) Zimmer in Cleveland, N.D. She attended school in Cleveland and Windeor, N.D., then she moved to Jamestown, N.D., where she worked as a waitress. Alvina was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Jamestown for many years.
She married Clarence Olson of Billings on June 24, 1954, in Jamestown and then moved to Billings. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by a sister Lydia Goodroad, of Jamestown and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in Montana and Wyoming. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother and three sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at Bethel Baptist Church, 4119 Clevinger Ave., Billings, MT, 59101. Visitation will begin Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at 5 p.m., at Smith Downtown Chapel. Memorials can be made to Bethel Baptist Church.

Harvey A. Thompson
LAUREL - Harvey Allen Thompson, 75, of Laurel passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at the Sheridan V.A. Hospital. He was born in Columbus on March 3, 1924 to Adolph and Ida Christensen Thompson. He served in the Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre, receiving many medals. He was a life member of the VFW Billy Price Post# 3177 in Laurel.
Survivors include his siblings, Cecil of Columbus, Grace Bricker of Riverside, Calif., Wally of Absarokee, and Leonard of Juneau, Ala. and many nieces and nephews, including Charlie and Don Sorenson, who shared their home with him in Laurel. He was preceded in death by Les and Roy Thompson and Helen Sorenson.
Graveside memorial with Military Rites and interment will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday at Mountainview cemetery in Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Whitebird Civic Center, c/o Bill Calovis, 445 A McNally Road, Columbus, MT 59019. Cremation and arrangements were by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Ray L. Elliott
Ray L. Elliott, 69, of Billings, passed away at home Friday Dec. 17, 1999, after a long battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Flora Ill., the son of Ernest and Hattie Elliott. Ray served in the Army during the Korean conflict. After his Honorable Discharge in 1952, he moved to Culbertson and married Opal Sjostrom in Sidney in 1954.
Ray retired from the Exxon Refinery in 1990. He loved fishing, hunting and camping. If any lake was large enough for his boat, he would stop and try his luck, usually catching fish for supper. Ray and Opal celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this past summer.
Survivors are his wife, Opal; a son, David; two daughters, Joanne (Harold) Gilliam, Jeanann (Stewart) Ankrum; six grandchildren; a great granddaughter, all of Billings; two sisters, Mildred Bateman and Lorraine Cooper; and one brother, Laddie Elliott. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; his daughter, Sheila; brother, Victor Elliott and a sister, Elsie Smith.
Viewing is from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday at Cremation or Funeral Gallery. Funeral is at 11 a.m., Monday at New Life Church, 3950 Temple Place. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date. Memorials may be made to Big Sky Hospice, Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107 or New Life Church. Arrangements were by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Evelyn Engen
Evelyn Engen, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went to be with her Lord Friday, Dec. 17, 1999. She passed away at Valley Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for five years.
She was born to Adam and Dorthea Schmidt, on Nov. 22, 1909, at Martin, N.D., where she was raised and educated. On Aug. 27, 1932, she married Arnold Engen.
Evelyn was a kind and gentle lady who had a great love for her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and sewing. She was a member of the Billings Bible Church.
Survivors include a son, Don of Billings; grandchildren, Kurt Engen and wife, Marsha and their son Dexter of Billings, Kevin Engen and wife, Kris of Denver, Colo., Kathy Engen and her son, Mike of Billings and her sister, Lorraine Seibel of Bismark, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; daughter, Marlys and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Smith West Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials to the Clydehurst Christian Ranch, 802 N. 27th St., Billings, Mont., 59101.

William N. 'Bill' Degner
GRASS RANGE - William N. "Bill" Degner, 82, of Grass Range, died Friday morning near Grass Range in an automobile accident. He was born Dec. 30, 1917, on the ranch near Grass Range, Mont., the son of Edward D. and Tekla (Dengel) Degner. He attended grade school at Kinnick, Dengel and Grass Range, graduating from Grass Range High School in 1937. He served six months in the CCC'S at Nine Mile, near Alberton, Mont. He worked for neighboring ranchers, worked construction and ran a service station in Grass Range for a while. He took over the operation of the ranch on Fords Creek in 1936. He later bought it from his mother. On May 19, 1956, he was united in marriage to Zelma Leslie in Lewistown. They were able to add to the ranch by buying other places and helped his boys purchase the ranches. Bill continued to operate his ranch until the time of his death.
Bill served on the Grass Range School Board for 13 years and served on the Grass Range Grazing District. He was a Cub Scout leader when his boys were in Cub Scouts and he hauled 4-H animals for his kids at fair time.
He loved working with his hands, whether repairing equipment or building something new, either welding or woodworking. He accomplished one of his dreams when he and his boys built their house on the ranch. When Fergus Electric came to the Grass Range area, Bill did a lot of wiring for his neighbors. All of his wiring, plumbing and welding was self-taught. His favorite saying was "You can do anything if you put your mind to it."
He is survived by his wife, Zelma of Grass Range; three sons, Russell and his wife, Lisa and James E., all of Grass Range, and Michael J. of Billings; two daughters, Nancy J. Jares and her husband, Jim of Basin, Wyo. and Sandra Crusch and her husband, Curt of Spokane, Wash.; one brother, Sterling of Billings; four sisters, Fern Hickey and Edith Duty, both of Billings, Ethel Gilpatrick and Pearl Yaeger, both of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren, Karin and Romanchuk Degner, Nicole and Jamie Jares, Stephane, Connie and Steven Degner, Cassie Degner and Tyler and Mariah Crusch and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and one son, Chip.
Funeral Services for Bill Degner will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Grass Range School with interment to follow in the Grass Range cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may make memorials to the Grass Range Ambulance or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.

Alma Mary Campbell Bruce
GREYBULL, Wyo. - Alma Mary Campbell Bruce passed away on Dec. 17, 1999, at Bonnie Bluejacket Memorial Nursing Home in Greybull, Wyo.
She was born in Ainsville, N.C. on Dec. 4, 1905.
In 1912, she traveled across the United States with her family, by train, to Prescott, Wash.
She married William "Bill" Bruce on Oct. 25, 1925, in Walla Walla, Wash. They celebrated 65 years of marriage.
She was preceded by her husband in 1990, also by her father, mother, two brothers and a sister.
She was active in the community, working at the Standard Oil Refinery during World War II.
She worked three years at the old hospital and 17 years at the South Big Horn Hospital as a nurses' aide. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, past president of Fern Chapter #31 O.E.S., Chapter #2 P.E.O. and active in the hospital auxiliary for 10 years. She also worked for United Blood Services as a volunteer.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Moberly and husband, Harry of Worland, Wyo.; a son, Micheal and wife, Carol of Casper, Wyo.; nine grand children; 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
A memorial fund has been set up at the Big Horn Federal Savings and Loan in Greybull, the proceeds will go to the Bonnie Bluejacket Memorial Nursing Home.
The funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Greybull at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, with the Reverend George Pasek officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hillside cemetery in Greybull, Wyo.
Atwood Family Funeral Directors, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.

Mike Keller
GREYBULL, Wyo. - Mike Keller, 74, of Greybull, Wyo. died Dec. 16, 1999, in the Billings Deaconess Hospital.
He was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Sidney, a son of Martin and Margaret Herman Keller. He was raised in the Crow Agency and Sheridan, Wyo. areas. The family moved to Hardin in 1939.
Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944 and served in the Philippines and Japan during World War II before receiving his Honorable Discharge.
He married Mary Schafer on July 24, 1949, and the couple farmed near St. Xavier and in the Hardin north valley. They moved to Lovell, Wyo. in 1964, where he worked for the Lewis Estate. In 1973, they moved to Harlowton, where he worked for the American Fork Ranch, until retiring in 1989 and moving to Greybull.
Mike loved farming, ranching, fishing and talking with people.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include one son, Steven (Elizabeth) Keller of East Lyme, Conn.; three daughters, Jeanie (Tony) Morris of Greybull, Wyo., Denice (Tom) Gifford of Basin, Wyo. and Marsha Keller Crabtree of Red Lodge; four grandsons, Chris, Eric, Mike and Rick; three grand-daughters, Andrea, Valerie and Megan; one brother Bennie (Ilene) Keller of Hardin; two sisters, Helen (Bill) Fox of Hardin and Regina McBeth of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dad was loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his quick wit and fierce loyalty.
Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m., Sunday in the Burns Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in the Hardin Fairview cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Lela M. 'Lee' Crenshaw
Lee Crenshaw, 84, of Billings passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at the Aspen View Care Center.
Lee was born on Dec. 12, 1915, to Charles and Bertha Rickman in Columbus. At an early age, the family moved to Billings, where they operated a truck garden on Garden Ave. In 1935, she married Ernest Crenshaw and they moved to the Pine Ridge south of Pempeys Pillar, where they operated a sawmill until 1944 when they moved to Billings. Lee and Ernest had three children.
Her husband; their daughter, Jeanne Rasmusson and several brothers preceded Lee in death.
Lee is survived by her son, Bill Crenshaw and his wife, Jan of Sheridan, Wyo.; her daughter, Barabara Walborn of Billings and her son-in-law, Chester Rasmusson of Senora, Calif. Lee had seven grandchildren, Cindy (Doug) Steel, Mike (Michelle) Rasmusson of California, Kymm ( Steve) Stark of Shepherd, Ed (Wendy) Fick of Billings, Rick (Rhonda) Vanover of California, Cindy (Matt) Vanover of Colorado; eight great grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. During her life, Lee was blessed with many life long friends, among them Louise Loveland and Ella Oblender.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Smith Downtown Chapel. Cremation has taken place at Smith Crematory. Interment of ashes will be in Pleasantview cemetery, Ballantine, Mont.
