Lois Edith Robb (Kenney)
Lois Edith Robb (Kenney) departed from this world on Jan. 23, 2000, to embark on a long awaited trip to be with her mother. Lois was born on Nov. 9, 1911, at Lincoln, Idaho, the daughter of Alexander and Margaret Austin Robb, farmers / ranchers. When Lois was 5 years old, she lost her mother to an illness which left a tremendous void and influenced the rest of her life.
Lois was united in marriage to George S. Kenney of Henry's Lake, Idaho, on Sept. 13, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. From this marriage two children were born: Betty Jean and Dean. Their love of ranching and the outdoors began with managing the Salisbury Ranch at Henry's Lake in 1937.
Eventually, they were able to fulfill a dream in owning a ranch at Sarpy Creel Basin east of Hardin in 1944 and, lastly, the ranch at St. Xavier in January 1949. While living there, Lois helped organize the first 4-H Club in the Sarpy Basin and was involved in the building of the new Wolf School. Lois moved to Billings in 1961 where she became an active advocate for RSVP.
Lois loved the mountains, children, people, animals and birds. Her greatest accomplishment besides being a mother was being a grandmother.
