Rocky Mountain Stump Sr.
ROCKY BOY - Rocky Mountain Stump Sr., 66, died on Jan. 20, 2000, at his home of cancer.
Wake services will begin at 12 p.m. Thursday, Jan 20, at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Rocky Boy cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre is in charge.

Debra Phillips Luck
Debra Jean Phillips Luck, 43, of Billings, passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2000. She is a native of Georgia and is survived by her parents Walter and Frances Phillips; three sisters, Donna, Dawn, and Denise; two nephews, Donnie and Quentin all of Marietta, Georgia.
Debbie was a graduate of Grady Memorial School of Nursing, which is affiliated with Georgia State and Emory University. She was employed by Westmont Health Care Services as a Personal Care Registered Nurse, until her death.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Cremation or Funeral Gallery, 29 8th St. West, Billings.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to American Heart Association, 2812 First Ave. North, Billings, MT 59101.

Leonard Koerth
LEWISTOWN - Leonard Koerth, age 80, of Lewistown, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
A son of the late Herman and Hedwig Nietzsche Koerth, he was born July 10, 1919, at Greenvine, Texas. He was an employee of the Department of the Interior, working in Federal Land Management, was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II and attended the North Clairemont United Methodist Church in San Diego.
In addition to his parents, three children preceded him in death: Randy Koerth. Gregory Koerth and Melinda Anderson; a brother, Rupert Koerth; and a sister, Dorothy Bjornberg.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Koerth; three sons, John Koerth of Helena, Russell Koerth of Newport, R.I., and Dean Koerth of San Diego; four daughters, Terry Eisen of Billings, Jane Brown of Lavina, Karen Fittipaldi of Pittsfield, N.Y., and Holly Hartley of Edina, Minn.; two brothers, his twin brother, Leander Koerth of Atkins, Ark., and Gus Koerth of Tonganozie, Kan.; two sisters, Lillian Wardlow of Oroville, Calif., and Elsie Rebstock of Nassau Bay, Texas; and 24 grandchildren.
Service and burial in Brock cemetery, near London, were private. Arrangements were by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Heart Hospital, 1707 S. Shackleford Road, Little Rock, Ark., 72211.

Angela Mae Hall Vitense
BRIDGER - Angela Mae Hall Vitense, 67, died on Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Services are pending with Botimer Funeral Home, Inc., 1641 E. Jefferson, Phoenix, AZ.

Elna B. Hammer
Elna B. Hammer, 73, of Billings, died in her home on Jan. 18, 2000, after an illness with cancer.
Elna was born July 29, 1926, in Le Sueur, Minn., a daughter of Awald and Angela (Holtz) Brandt. She went to school in Le Sueur and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, while serving with the FAA where she met and married Jack George. She returned to Le Sueur where she met and married Arnold R. Hammer, Jr. in March, 1954. They resided in Minnesota until 1968, when they moved to Billings.
Elna was an active member of the Arthritis Foundation for over 20 years, a member of the Sweet Adelines both in Minnesota and Montana, also a member of a championship barbershop quartet and a member of the Magic City Singers for 10 years. She was a director and member of the Atonement Lutheran Church Choir.
Elna was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include a sister, Leta (Bill) Neuburger of Maple Valley, Wash.; a sister, Joan (Don) Rhoads of Fort Washington, Md.; a brother, Marlin (Kay) Brandt of Bedford, Texas; her husband, Arnold of Billings; a daughter, Carol Blair of Billings; a son, Lawrence Hammer of Florida; grandson Doug (Darcy) Blair of Lockwood, grandson Tim Blair of Red Lodge, grandson Kyle Blair of Billings, granddaughter Shawna Blair of Billings and a great-granddaughter, Angellynn Blair of Belfry.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, at Atonement Lutheran Church, 407 Wicks Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Arthritis Foundation or Christikon Bible Camp.

William A. 'Bill' Long
FORT PECK - William A. "Bill" Long, 60, passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Billings Deaconess Hospital following a lengthy illness. William was born Sept. 28, 1939, in Red Lodge, the first of seven children born to Hank and Helen Mering Long. After graduating from Edgar High School in 1957, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Upon his honorable discharge, he was employed by Mountain Bell and later by Three Rivers Telephone Co., retiring at Ennis in 1994. Bill loved hunting, fishing and enjoying his cabin and time with his family and friends at Fort Peck Reservoir.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William H. Long and step-granddaughter, Lisa Bloch. He will be greatly missed by his mother, Helen A. Long; four sisters, Sandra (Gerald) Sandvig of Phoenix, Ariz., Nancy (Roy) Wright of Brush, Colo., Carol (Jim) Rogina of Glasgow, Patricia (Steve) Fraser of Billings; two brothers, Dan (Lana) Long of Billings and Charles (Linda) Long of Fort Peck; six stepchildren, Scott, Terry, Colin Anderson, Jeanne, Steve, Tom Bloch; four step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews.
At Bill's request, no service will be held. Friends will gather later to honor his memory. Cremation was at Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Hazel M. Alderman
FORSYTH - Hazel M. Alderman, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at the Rosebud Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Beals Mortuary Chapel in Forsyth. Interment will follow in the Rancher cemetery, west of Hysham. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is in charge.

Margaret McCall
Margaret McCall, 83, of Billings, died at St. Vincent Hospital Jan. 18, 2000.
Margaret Frances Guenther was born in Mankato, Minn., July 28, 1916, the eldest daughter of James and Della Guenther. Margaret attended Holy Name School and Sheridan (Wyo.) High School and graduated with a B.S. degree from College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minn. She taught three years in Sheridan County, Wyo., schools and worked for three years at the Time-Life news bureau in Denver, before teaching in Whitehall after World War II.
In 1947, she married Henry McCall of Whitehall, and they lived in Billings, Denver, and Midland, Texas, where Margaret taught at Midland High School. The McCalls moved back to Billings after retiring. Margaret was a member of St. Thomas Parish.
She was preceded in death by her infant brother, James C.; her parents, and sisters Eileen Perryman of Livingston and Nellie Briles of Sheridan, Wyo. She is survived by her husband, Henry McCall of Billings; sisters, Dolores Guenther of Billings, Rita Brown of Idaho, daughters, Kathy King (Clint), Liz McCall (Patrick Dawson); and a son Jim McCall (Irene), all of Billings; seven grandchildren: John, Mary and Becky King; Julia and Madeline Dawson; Maggie and Molly McCall, and numerous' nieces and nephews.
Vigil and Rosary will be held at the Smith West Chapel at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Memorials may be made in Margaret McCall's name to: Billings Area Catholic Education Trust, 120 S. 34th St., Billings, MT 59101.

Marie A. Lehr
LAUREL - Marie A. Lehr, age 85, of Laurel, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Beehive Homes of Laurel.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1914, at Vineland, Colo., and came to Laurel in 1929. She married Henry Lehr on Nov. 4, 1933, in Billings. He predeceased her on Feb. 3, 1998. Marie was a member of the First Congregational Church of Laurel.
She is survived by two daughters, Florine Smith (Don) of Laurel and Carolyn Flaherty (Tom) of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, eresa Flaherty and Michael Flaherty of Milwaukee; two sisters, Ann Phillips of Billings and Kay Prothro of Shreveport, La.
She was predeceased by her husband; one sister, Dorothy Pullaro; and two brothers, Mike Brano and Pete Brano.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at the First Congregational Church in Laurel. She will be laid to rest at the Laurel cemetery. Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Congregational Church or Beehive Homes, both in Laurel.

Hannah E. Garvin
POWELL, Wyo. - Hannah Elizabeth Garvin, 99, a former resident of Powell, died on Jan. 15, 2000, in Casper.
Interment of cremains will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, at Crown Hill cemetery in Powell. Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home is in charge.

Phyllis Roemmich
LENNOX, S.D. - Phyllis Roemmich, 52, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center due to complications of a brain aneurysm.
Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at the Dindot-Klusmann funeral Home, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. to greet friends. Services will be at 1:30 Saturday, Jan. 22, at Turner County Presbyterian Church, rural Davis, with interment following in the Turner County Presbyterian cemetery.

Wayne W. Wilcox
BOZEMAN - Wayne W. Wilcox, 79, died Dec. 17, 1999, at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home in Glendive.
No services were planned at his request. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home was in charge of cremation.

Anna M. Morrell
Anna M. Morrell, 85, of Billings, passed away Jan. 18, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital.
She was born Nov. 5, 1914, the daughter of Ernest and Ella Cabana in Sioux City, Iowa, where she was raised and attended schools. She met and married her husband, Verne, in Tacoma, Wash.
She is survived by her husband, Verne; two nephews, Richard and Greg; two nieces, Pam and Nancy; and two great-nieces, Stacey and Tracey all of Sioux City.
Anna was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Billings.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Mortuary. Interment will take place at Rockvale cemetery.

Madaline Clasen
BIG TIMBER - Madaline Clasen, 75, of Big Timber, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at the St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
She was born the daughter of Paul Willits Roberts and Agnes Roberts. She was raised in Park City and graduated from Park City High School.
She attended beauty college and worked at the Florence Reimer Beauty Shop in Laurel prior to opening her own shop in Park City. She married George Smith in 1943 in Renton, Wash. George preceded her in death in April of 1957.
She married Joe Clasen in Washington, April 6, 1961. They lived in Washington where she was a data processing supervisor for Pierce County. They moved to Big Timber in August of 1976 to make their home.
Madaline enjoyed ceramics, flowers, crocheting afghans and helping in lodges. She was a member of Royal Neighbors Lodge in Wash. and in the College of Senior Regents in the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Clasen of Big Timber; one son, William C. Smith of Tacoma, Wash.; and three grandchildren, William, Holly and Julie; two brothers, Bill Roberts of Livingston and Bus Roberts of Laurel.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Smith West Chapel. Visitation will begin Friday at 5 p.m. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Deyo R. Jeffers
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Deyo Raymond Jeffers, 87, died on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at Kane Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made to Elks Building Fund, Hospice of the Big Horns or the charity of one's choice. Kane Funeral Home is in charge.

George Arlo Anderson
SIDNEY - George Anderson, 66, passed away on Jan. 17, 2000, at the Sidney Health Center due to a stroke. He shared the gift of life by donating multiple organs, a first for the Sidney Health Center.
Funeral services were held Jan. 20, at 10 am.. at the Sidney Luth-eran Brethren Church with Pastor Bruce Vallevik officiating. Pallbearers were his son Mitch Anderson, son-in-law Bobby Finnicum, nephews Garrett Morken, Gavin Morken, Loren Skyhorse, Steve Ballentine, Craig Ballentine, and family friend Doug Vanderpan. Honorary pallbearers are all his special friends and family, you know who you are. Ushers were Keith Montgomery and Mike Johnson. Special music was provided by Pastor Bruce and Ruth Vallevik. Burial followed in the Sidney cemetery under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.
George was born on April 19, 1933, in Wabek, N.D., to Herman and Ruby (Whetston) Anderson. He was raised in Plaza, N.D., and moved to Miles City in 1943 where he resided until graduation in 1951. George enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952, stationed in Korea and Japan as a non-commissioned officer, and was honorably discharged in 1956.
George married Geneal Stimson on Aug. 31, 1958, at the First Presbyterian Church in Gillette, Wyo. He was employed with Shell Oil Company in Baker, operated his own gunsmith shop in his spare time, and enjoyed skeet shooting. He was a Boy Scout, Cub Scout and Weblo leader, and taught Hunter Safety for many years. In 1979 he was transferred to Sidney where he retired in February, 1986.
George was a member of the Sidney Lutheran Brethren Church and the National Rifle Association. He supported the U. S. Olympic team.
George enjoyed hunting, fishing, garage sales, sports, reading, crossword puzzles, running his dogs, having coffee with his special friends, and feeding pheasants in the winter. He had such a tender heart, a good laugh would always bring tears to his eyes. He had a unique passion for Velcro, fiberglass and J.B. Weld. He always made time for Paul Harvey and his granddaughters, Tess, Dailyn, Erica and Heidi.
George is survived by: his wife, Geneal Anderson of Sidney; his children, Mitchell (Mary) Anderson of Moses Lake, Wash., Sharwynn Anderson of Billings, and Janae (Bobby) Finnicum of Sidney; his sisters, Marilyn (Lyal) Viers of Ridgecrest, Calif., Helen Ann (Bryce) Ballentine of Glendive, and Janice Morken of Sidney, four granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lodine Moffet of Livingston.
