Zeke Cummings
Zeke Cummings was born Aug. 17, 1981, in Natrona County, Wyo., to Greg and Carla Sue Cummings.
On Feb. 23, 2000, Zeke went to rest in the arms of God. Although Zeke's life was short due to complications of Fredricks Ataxia, he made many friends and lived an active life, through Eagle Mount recreational activities, MDA Camps and the Lockwood Evangelical Church's Youth Group. Zeke lived in Montana off and on since 1995. Zeke attended Lewis and Clark Junior High School and graduated from Skyview High School in 1999. Zeke moved back to Wyoming in the fall of 1999 to be closer to his family.
Zeke will be missed by his parents, Greg and Carla Sue Cummings; his sisters Genoa and Beth; his nieces and nephews; his grandparents; his foster parents, Don and Ethel Malone, and his many friends, in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado.
Memorials can be sent to Eagle Mount, MDA or the Lockwood Evangelical Church Camp. Memorial Services are at 3 p.m. Feb. 29, at Bustards Funeral Services, 600 CY Ave., Casper, Wyo. (307-234-7123)

Mary Anne Hager
Mary Anne Hager passed away at the age of 53, on Feb. 24, 2000.
Mary Anne was born July 15, 1947, to Otis and Hazel Hager in Billings. She attended Billings public schools and in 1969, graduated summa cum laude from St. Olaf College in Minnesota.
After graduation, she traveled extensively and then went into social work in Colorado. When she returned to Montana, she joined the family business, Hager Brothers Eggs until 1988. Since then, she worked for US West Communications and most recently was secretary for Unity Church of Christianity.
Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Hazel, and brothers Tom, Van and Dick. Survivors include her niece and nephew, Gretchen Straessle and Van Hager, and sisters-in-law, Connye Hartman and Donna Dinsmore. She will also be missed by numerous close friends.
Memorial services will be held at Unity Church of Christianity on Tuesday, Feb. 29, at 1 p.m. Memorials may be sent to Help for Homeless Pets, P.O. Box 1282, Billings, MT, 59103 or the Mary Anne Peace Garden Fund through Unity Church of Christianity, 9 14th St. West, Billings, MT 59102.

John Lloyd Hansen
John Lloyd Hansen, 76, of Billings died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at his home. The son of Norman E. and Alice Van Overstraeten Hansen, John was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Hartford, Conn. He attended school in West Yellowstone, graduating from Gallatin County High School. He graduated from Montana State College in Bozeman in 1950. He served with the Army Air Corps during WWII and in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
John married Jean Lenham, on a beautiful snowy day in West Yellowstone, Sept. 30, 1950.
John had worked for Peter Kiewit Sons, and was past president and owner of COP Construction. He was a past president of the Montana Contractors Association. He had served on the Civil Engineering External Advisory Commission for Montana State University, Bozeman, and on the Billings Logan Airport Advisory Board. He belonged to Yellowstone Kiwanis, Holy Name Society of St. Thomas, Life Loyal Sigma Chi, the Nina Clare Chowder and Marching Society and was a Bobcat booster. Our dad was a kind, gentle father. He loved to ski with his beautiful wife of nearly 50 years, his four children, all his grandchildren and many friends. John tramped all over Montana hunting, fishing and watching West High and Montana State University sports. Dad traveled the world sight-seeing with mom and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Bunny; children, John L. Hansen, Jr. (Hans) and his wife, Maribeth, of Billings, Joe L. Hansen and his wife, Patty Murphy Hansen, of Bozeman, Norman Peter Hansen, of Billings and Joan Hansen Jacobsen and her husband, John W., of Billings; his sister, Mary Hansen Sandner of San Francisco; a sister-in-law, Diana Hansen Kelly, of Bozeman; six grandchildren, Patrick, Katy, Annie, Charlie, Maggie and Luke; two AFS students, Erwin M. Schiele of Kassel, Germany, and Anette Koinberg Behm of Stockholm, Sweden, and many other friends who passed though their home as "temporary" children.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Norman M. Hansen, brother-in-law, Dr. Donald Sandner and an infant sister, Baby Alice.
We will miss "John's", "Dad's", or "Poppa's" friendship and bear hugs.
Two Boards upon cold powdered snow YO HO!
Visitation will be from 9 a.m., Saturday until noon, Monday, at Michelotti, Sawyers and Nordquist with cremation to follow. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m., Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Memorial Mass in John's honor will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Private interment with military honors is planned at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.

'Ski' LeRoy Hasty
"Ski" LeRoy Fred Hasty (Couture), 57, of Billings, went to be with our Lord Jesus, Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000. His hopes were that all his family and friends could be saved.
The son of Glenn Hasty and Dorothy Couture, he was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Baker. He graduated high school in Hardin in 1961 and served two enlistments in the U.S. Navy.
On Aug. 8, 1987, he married Karen Zamora in Martinsdale.
A wonderful husband, companion, and best friend, he loved his children and grandchildren more than words could say. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting and watching the cooking channel. He was a member of the American Legion and Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; mother, Dorothy Couture; daughter, Billie Joe Hageman, her husband, Tom and grandchildren, Monica, Victorya and Julia, all of Billings; his children with Prudence Hasty: daughter, Dawn Hasty, of Missoula; son, Shawn Hasty, of Sanford, Maine, and grandchildren, Shawn, Jr., Harley, Sky; son, Shane Hasty of Springvale, Maine, and grandchildren, Chase and Kelsi; his brother, Howard Couture of Billings; three sisters, Lois O'Brien of Billings, Sharon Miller of Washington and Raylee, and any strays who would come along. Also surviving are his pets, Scooter Joe, Chrissy and Chew.
God saw he was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around him and whispered "come with me." With tear filled eyes we watched him, suffer and fade away. Although we loved him deeply, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands put to rest. God broke out hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
A special thanks goes to the Grams family for all their help and support.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Michelotti, Sawyers and Nordquist has charge of arrangements.

Janie J. Johnson
LIVINGSTON - Janie J. Johnson, 67, of Livingston, died at her home Friday afternoon, Feb. 25, 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 1 at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home. Graveside committal and burial will follow in Park View Gardens cemetery.

Tom Kardash
LIVINGSTON - Tom Kardash died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at the Ft. Harrison VA Medical Center in Helena.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 29, at Fanzen-Davis Funeral Home.

Norman Lee Paulson
SIDNEY - Norman Lee Paulson of Sidney passed away on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Billings.
Norman was born on Oct. 12, 1912, in Williston, N.D., to Nellie Irene Todd Paulson and Alfred Danton Paulson.
He married Elizabeth Rosemary Costello on Jan. 6, 1940, at All Saints Rectory, Keokuk, Iowa. She preceded him in death on May 1, 1986.
Norman married Jean Mae Nelson Hagen on Oct. 10, 1987, in Conrad.
Survivors include his wife of Sidney; four children, Mary Gertrude Aulgur of Galesburg, Ill., Myles Alfred Paulson of New York City, Helen Irene Paulson of Helena and Norma Lee Fahrenbacker of Denton, Texas; two step-daughters, JoAnn Marie Hagen of Kenai, Alaska, and Janice M. Holen of Wolf Point; two sons-in-law; two stepsons-in-law; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and one step great-granddaughter. One daughter, Christine Marie Casey, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at the Clayton Funeral Home in Poplar at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 29. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. lnurnment will be held at the Poplar City cemetery. Cremation rights were accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice. Clayton Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Fred E. Schumacher
WOLF POINT - Fred E. Schumacher, age 78, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point following a short, courageous battle with cancer.
Fred was born on Oct. 25, 1921, in Wolf Point, to Christ and Caroline (Frey) Schumacher.
He served in WWII in the European Theater in field artillery.
On April 14, 1946, he married Emily K. Treftz in Sidney. They farmed and ranched all his life on his farm south of Wolf Point.
Survivors include his wife, six daughters, one son, 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, at the Clayton Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 29, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor George Draper officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood cemetery with military rites.

Floyd E. 'Scotty' Scott
Floyd E. "Scotty" Scott, 72, of Billings, passed away Feb. 25, 2000, at Billings Deaconess Hospital of complications from a lengthy pulmonary illness. He was born Dec. 14, 1927, to Glen and Nettie (Mullenax) Scott in Roundup, Mont.
He worked in the shipyards in Portland, Ore., during WWII and joined the Navy in 1945. In 1948, he joined a year-long naval expedition with Admiral Byrd to the South Pole. After discharge in 1948, he went to business school in Omaha, Nebr. He worked for the railroad in Nebraska until 1952, when he returned to Montana to work in the high line oil fields. He worked for Thompson Dairy, Midland Feeds and Beall Tankers, all in Billings. He also co-owned with Duella Scott, the Milkway, a dairy delivery and ice cream shop in Billings during the 1960s.
He lived on farms in the Huntley and Shepherd area for 35 years. The occupations he enjoyed most were raising and training horses and cultivating large gardens. An industrial accident 20 years ago damaged his lungs and forced him to give up his horses, but he gardened until moving to Eagle Cliff Manor two years ago. Many evenings would find him in his wheelchair in the Eagle Cliff parking lot watching the horses in the field next door sipping a beer pilfered from the Eagle Cliff kitchens.
Scotty loved country and western music, square dancing and his canine companion, Cliff. Reduced lung capacity did not stop him from singing off-key to his country tapes, but it did end his square dancing. He mourned Cliff's passing until his own death.
Scotty married Duella Sarvis on June 4, 1950, in Nebraska. They divorced in 1976. He married Jackie Reynard Bennet in Billings on Nov. 7, 1976. She survives him and lives in Billings. Other survivors include his daughter, Duella Strobbe and companion, Tom Hull, of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; son, Barry (Arlee) Scott of Billings; step-children, Larry Bennett of Salem, Ore., Sherry Bennett and Steve Bennett of Billings. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jason (Lauren) Strobbe of Tigard, Ore., and Ramsey and Lila Scott of Billings and great-granddaughter Taylor Strobbe of Ashland, Ore. Other survivors include brothers, Jim Scott of Cincinata, Iowa, Robert Scott of Valdosta, Ga., Leroy Scott and Kenneth Wall of Roundup, Mont., and sisters, Jeanette Vigil of Riverton, Wyo., Illa Wyckoff and Clara Strevers of Billings, Vera Powers of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Rosella Mariner of Littleton, Colo.; step-mother, Peggy Scott, of Roundup, along with numerous nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Art Wall and a brother, Glen Scott, Jr.
A full military service will be held at the VFW Post #6774 at 637 Anchor in Billings Heights at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 29. A viewing will be held from 4:30 p.m. Saturday until Monday afternoon at Michelotti Sawyers and Nordquist Mortuary at 1001 Alderson Ave. Cremation will follow with remains scattered in the Pacific Ocean by military transport. Memorial contributions in Scotty's name can be made to the VFW Post #6774 and its Ladies Auxiliary.

Nona Lee Watkins
CODY, Wyo. - Nona Lee Watkins, age 71, passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at her home in Cody.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 29, from 6-7 p.m. at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Ballard's. Interment will follow at Riverside cemetery.

James C. Wilkins, Jr.
LEWISTOWN - James C. Wilkins, Jr., 80, long-time Lewistown attorney, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings due to injuries sustained in a vehicle-pedestrian accident in Lewistown on Dec. 24, 1999.
Funeral services will be held at the Lewistown United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 2, at 2 p.m. Burial with military honors will be at the Lewistown City cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Central Montana Historical Museum Building Fund or to the Lewistown Methodist Church digital camera fund. Creel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Eloise Dagmar Stebbins Phelps
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Eloise Dagmar Stebbins Phelps was born in Billings, on March 20, 1934, to Esther (Kerkhoven) and Lyman Stebbins Sr. Eloise had one brother, Lyman Jr., now deceased. Eloise graduated from Billings Senior High School. She attended Eastern Montana College.
Survivors include her children, Christel (Phelps) Ternstrom, Brian, and James Phelps; grandchildren, Melanie and Kyle Phelps, Stephanie, Elisa, and Joshua Ternstrom; and Aunt Lucille Kerkhoven of Rosemead.
A service will be held Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Costa Mesa at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26. Her ashes will be scattered along her favorite stretch of ocean near Laguna Beach.

Val Belus
BUFFALO, Wyo. - Val Belus, 81, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at the Annie Holt Care Center.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday from the church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 29, from the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Graveside services with military rites will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the Elks Section of the Sheridan Municipal cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice or Home Health in care of the Adams Funeral Home.

Roy Eugene Gordon
CODY, Wyo. - Roy Eugene Gordon, 81, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at his home after an extended illness.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held during the summer. Ballard Funeral Home was in charge.
