Alice Gedney
MILES CITY - Alice Gedney, age 84, of Miles City, passed away Friday, March 17, 2000, at the Holy Rosary Health Center.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, in the Chapel at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. Prayer services will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 21 and funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, in the Chapel. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County cemetery.

Stella Heser
WOLF POINT - Stella Heser, 92, died March 18, 2000, in the Northeast Montana Medical Facility in Wolf Point.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 19 from 1-7 p.m. at the Clayton Memorial Chapel with a vigil service at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 20 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Esther Aileen Lamb
Esther Aileen Lamb, age 87, of Billings, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Billings Deaconess Medical Center.
Aileen was born Sept. 26, 1912, at Sundance, Wyo., the daughter of Ira and Alta (Scrivner) Sluss. She was raised and graduated from high school at Sundance.
On Dec. 23, 1932, she married Aaron D. "Shorty" Lamb in Belle Fourche, S.D. They lived in Wyoming, where Mr. Lamb worked in road construction. They later lived in Seattle until moving to Billings in 1945, where they continued to live.
Aileen and Shorty enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and the outdoor life. They also enjoyed their social life. After Shorty's death, Aileen became involved with the fiddlers' organization, playing the guitar for many functions in the area. Aileen had many good friends.
Survivors include her brother, James Eugene Sluss of Billings and numerous nieces and nephews. Aileen was preceded in death by her husband in 1981; two brothers, Ellis and Claude Sluss and two sisters, Creta Fawkes and Velda Mason.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, at Smith's West Chapel, 304 34th St. West. Interment wilt be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will start at noon Sunday.
Memorials may be made to Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children; 20673; Billings, MT, 59104 or charity of choice.

James D. Peccia, Sr.
JUDITH GAP - James D. Peccia Sr., 79, passed away March 17, 2000, at Wheatland Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home in Harlowton of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 20, at Perkins Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Harlowton cemetery.

Alex Ronald Richmond
HARDIN - Alex Ronald Richmond, 93, of Hardin, passed away Friday March 17, 2000, at the Heritage Acres Nursing Home.
He was born on Jan. 1, 1907, in Oil City, Pa., the son of John and Isabella Bissett Richmond. His father was a railroad conductor and moved his family to Marmarth, N.D., where Ronnie attended grade school and high school. He attended North Dakota State College at Grand Forks.
Ronnie worked for the MDU Company in Baker and Miles City as a line superintendent. In 1950, he was transferred to Hardin as district manager until his retirement for a total of 44 years at MDU.
Ronnie married Frances Agnes Shartz in Baker on Oct. 11, 1930. Frances passed away on Oct. 23, 1997.
He was a member of the Hardin Kiwanis Club, Hardin Volunteer Fire Department and Fort Custer Golf Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and one sister.
Survivors include two children, Ronald Leroy (Carol) Richmond of Mesa, Ariz., and Darlene Rae (Lee) Wilson of Sarpy Creek, Hysham; one sister, Annie Brown of Los Angeles; four grandchildren, Connie (Dave) McNaney of Hysham, Karen (Jim) Larson of Hysham, Doug (Sandra) Wilson of Parker, Colo., and Leslie Wilson of Billings; five great grandchildren, Brian and Brenda McNaney, Jamie and Tyler Larson, and Sean Wilson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Hardin Fairview cemetery. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Alice Kathryn Ort Thex
ASHLAND - Alice Kathryn Ort Thex, age 93, of Ashland, passed away Friday, March 17, 2000, at the Powder River Manor in Broadus.
Visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m., Monday, March 20, in the Chapel at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, in the Powder River Congregational Church. Burial will follow in the Willow Crossing cemetery.

Dean William Wolf
MILES CITY - Dean William Wolf, age 39, of Miles City, passed away Friday, March 17, 2000, at Holy Rosary Extended Care.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, in the Chapel at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. Prayer services will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, and funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, at Stevenson and Sons. Interment will be held at a later date.

Jon Zinke
MILES CITY - Jon Zinke, age 38, of Rupert, Idaho, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2000, as a result of an automobile accident.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, in the Chapel at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County cemetery.

Joy A. Ash
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Joy A. Ash, 97, died on March 16, 2000, at her home.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 20, at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, at Kane Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal cemetery. A reception will follow at the Big Horn Women's Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whedon Cancer Foundation, Sheridan Monor, or the charity of one's choice in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Ban, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Evelyn Beatty
LEWISTOWN - Evelyn Beatty, 91, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Valle Vista Manor.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no services at her request. Creel Funeral Home is in charge.

John P.'Johnnie' Branger
BRIDGER - On March 15, 2000, John P. "Johnnie" Branger III, 77, passed away at the Valley Health Care Center surrounded by his family. A son of John and Margaret (Wigen) Branger, he was born in Absarokee on Feb. 18, 1923.
Johnnie was raised on the family TO Bar Ranch in the East Rosebud Canyon and received his education in the Roscoe and Absarokee schools. Born to be a cowboy, he was a world class bronc rider, dude wrangler, farrier, outfitter, guide and packed for the U.S. Forest Service. He ranched at Roscoe, Ennis, Livingston, and the Red Lodge area.
Johnnie and Betty O'Shea were united in marriage on Aug. 6, 1947. She preceded him in death in 1976. He later married Pat Kennick in 1980, and she passed away in 1993.
He is survived by his four children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They are: Duane (Mary) and grandchildren, Amy and Patrick, Billings; Nick and grandsons, Jesse and Chris, Billings; John IV (Lori) and grandson, John V "Eric", Ennis; Bennie (Gary) Clark, granddaughter, Jennipher (Bob) Sitz; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Lane; grandson, David (Dulce) and great-grandsons, Colter and Luke, Ennis. Johnnie is also survived by his two sisters, Esther (Merrill) Miller, and Rosina (Jack) Hash; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends. He will be greatly missed by each one.
Johnnie will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and often quoted one- liners. He endured many adversities in his lifetime but always pulled through with his fortitude, courage and humorous disposition.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, at Esther Miller's residence in Roscoe. If friends wish, memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 35455 Tamarac Drive., Suite 200, Denver, CO 80237 or to the charity of choice.
Cremation or Funeral Gallery is in charge of arrangements.

Manuel M. Briseno
CASA GRANDE, Ariz. - Manuel M. Briseno, 72, formerly of northern Wyoming, passed away, on Tuesday, March 14, 2000.
Manuel was born on Sept. 9, 1927, at McAllen, Texas. He worked for the railroad, retiring from Burlington Northern Railroad after 31 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was known for his green thumb, able to grow cactus from seed. He was married to Frances for the past 52 years. He was a resident of Arizona for the past 12 years.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Briseno of Casa Grande; sons, Manuel Briseno Jr. of Powell, Wyo., Frank Briseno of Maine, Moses Briseno of Lovell, Wyo., Ben Briseno of Casa Grande; daughters, Lupe B. Lopez of Sierra Vista, Emma Stevens of Casa Grande; a stepsister, Teresa Morales of Indio, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, at Simes Mortuaries Casa Grande Chapel with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande, with Father Juan Carlos Aguirre officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain View cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, P.O. Box 12335, Casa Grande, AZ 85222.

John Cyra
ROUNDUP - John Cyra, 87, died on March 14, 2000, at his home of natural causes.
Interment will be held at Woodlawn cemetery in Milwaukee, Wis., on Monday, March 20. Wier Funeral Home is in charge.

Robert Donald Dunckel
Robert Donald Dunckel died March 16, 2000. He was 57.
He was born July 3, 1942, in Bozeman to John and Edith Dunckel. He was raised in Choteau where he graduated from high school in 1960.
He married Karen Lowrance in 1961, and they raised four children, first in Choteau and later in Billings. He owned many businesses over the years, most of them involving cars.
His friends will remember him as outgoing, friendly, and quick with a joke - and he ALWAYS had a joke. He was also generous and there when they needed him.
His family will remember him for his sense of humor, his musical and artistic talents, and his big heart. He will be loved and missed always.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Dunckel.
He is survived by his mother, Edith Dunckel; his brothers: Jay Dunckel of Choteau, and Gary Dunckel of Boulder, Colo.; his children, Sharmi and husband, Rich Lagge of Billings; Shelley and husband, Marty Skabelund of Logan, Utah; Blake and wife, Robin Dunckel of Butte; and Libby and husband, Dewaine Jones of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and the lights of his life, his grandchildren: Mitch and Cara Lagge; Matthew, Becky, Jared, and Andy Skabelund; Tyson and Mariah Dunckel, and Jajuan Jones. We love you Grandpa Bob.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cremation or Funeral Gallery, 8th & St. Johns Ave. Interment will follow at Mountview cemetery.

Michael A. Franklin
Michael A. Franklin, 35, died on Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings. The son of Betty and Donald Franklin, he was born in Santa Maria, Calif., on Jan. 11, 1965.
Mike had a great capacity for enjoying life. He attended high school in Enterprise, Ore., where he was active in sports and well-known for his enthusiasm and school spirit. After moving to Billings, he graduated from May Technical College, where he also later taught.
In 1996, he started to work for Jester Sound and Video as a video editor. He excelled in this capacity and received national recognition for one of the videos he produced. Many clients became his personal friends. The staff at Jester appreciated Mike for his dedication and willingness to tackle any project. On weekends he also worked at KGHL-FM, where he was loved and appreciated by his co-workers. He really enjoyed working at both of his jobs. His was a familiar face during the lunch hour at the Montana Nugget Casino where he had befriended many of the staff.
Mike was an enthusiastic sports fan, and his knowledge of sports trivia was unlimited. His favorite sports were car racing, basketball, baseball, and football, and he really got excited about the Boston Red Sox.
Mike is survived by his mother, Betty Franklin of Clyde Park; father, Donald Franklin of Sandpoint, Idaho; sisters, Barbara Shiplet of Clyde Park, Wendy Franzen of Phoenix, Holly Knight of Frenchtown, Gina Franklin of Bozeman; brother, Donnie Franklin of Frenchtown; and daughter, Jade Sarrazin of Livingston.
Mike was a loyal employee and had a nickname for all of his co-workers. He loved children and enjoyed spending time with his 12 nieces and nephews. We will miss his sparkling brown eyes and ready smile.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, at the Methodist Church in Clyde Park, Mont. Arrangements have been entrusted to Franzen Funeral Home in Livingston.

Harry Alden Larsen
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Harry Alden Larsen, 61, died on March 6, 2000, in La Vegas, Nev.
Cremation has taken place and private memorials services will be held at a later date. Kane Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sheridan High School Wrestling Team or Sheridan County 4-H, both in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY 82801.
