Audrey Brunsvold
LAUREL - Audrey Brunsvold, 81, of Laurel, passed away April 3, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital.
The daughter of Myron Charles and Gertrude Mae Donne Watson. She grew up in Butte and graduated from Butte High in 1937, completing her education at the University of Montana, where she met her future husband, Merle Brunsvold. She began her home economics teaching career in Whitehall.
Audrey and Merle were married Jan. 31, 1943, in Butte. During WWII, she volunteered at the Shrine Children's Hospital in Greenville, S.C. and San Francisco, later working as a day care director in Dallas. Following WWII, they made their home in Great Falls, moving to Laurel in 1967. Audrey was an active member in the Montana Professional Home Economics Association. She served as a director of the Yellowstone Wool Growers "Make It With Wool" contest and was an active 4-H sewing judge throughout the state during the 1960's and 70's. Mrs. Brunsvold was a member of the Laurel Federated Women's Club and a life member of the O.E.S. in Butte.
Survivors include her husband, Merle of fifty-seven years; two daughters, Linda (Keith) Smith of Tempe, Ariz. and Nancy (Jim) Cole of Missoula; four grandchildren, Kibbie and Kaycie Smith and Matt and Ryan Cole; sister-in-law Grace Watson of Billings; and numerous and nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Laurel. Inurnment will be held later at Mount Moriah cemetery in Butte. Memorials may be made to the Shrine Children's Transportation Fund, P.O. Box 20673, Billings, MT 59104. Arrangements were made by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.

Glen Brewster
EKALAKA - Glen Albert Brewster, 79, passed away on Monday April 3, 2000, at Holy Rosary Health Care Center in Miles City.
Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at the Stevenson's Funeral Home in Ekalaka. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at Ekalaka Congregational Church. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Stevenson's Funeral Home of Ekalaka is in charge of arrangements.

Dave Waudby
LAUREL - Dave Waudby was born on June 28, 1943, and died March 31, 2000, at the age of 56. He was born in Fountain Green, Utah, a son of Robert and Rhea Green Waudby. Dave moved to Montana in June of 1981. He married Ellen Marie Harris Jan. 22, 1982. Dave worked for the Gwenlin Company for the last ten years.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen of Laurel; a son, David D. Waudby and his wife, Teresa of Gallup, N.M.; a step-daughter, Darlyn Novell of Laurel, Mont.; a step--son, James Wilson of Milton of Freewater, Ore.; four brothers, George Waudby, Ken Waudby and his wife, Terri, all of Ogden, UT.; Mike Waudby and his wife, Mary of Ballentine, Mont., and John Waudby of Billings, Mont.; three sisters, Carol (Dennis) Malmstrom of Cedar Fort, Utah, Karalee (Earl) Moore of Layton, Utah, and Sharon Grieve of Mesquite, Nev.; five step-grandchildren and one goddaughter, Cheryl Rodriquez. He will be missed by friends who share the family's feelings of loss at his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel.

Mary LeVeque
SONNETTE - Mary LeVeque, age 98, of Sonnette, Mont., passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2000, at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Mary was born on June 26, 1901, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., the daughter of Stanley and Genevive Pzinski. At the age of three, her family moved to Cambria, Wyo., then to a ranch her father was developing near New Castle, Wyo. There she attended Wyoming schools. In January of 1922, Mary and Pierre (Pete) LeVeque were united in marriage at St. Patrick's Church in Lead, S.D.
They moved to a ranch at Sonnette (then Selway), Mont., where they farmed and ranched until the death other husband in 1995, and continued to operate the ranch with her daughter. While on the ranch they celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary.
Mary was an accomplished seamstress and a gourmet cook. She had a special love for flowers and gardening and was well-known to share her treasures from her garden. She loved children and helped raise two of Pete's nephews and had many others on the ranch summers. She considered it one of her joys. She enjoyed taking part in the community activities, including the Powder River History Book and the Sonnette Community Hall. She was very active until the time of her death. Mary was a member of St. David's Catholic Church, the Alter Society, Homemakers Club and the Cowbelles.
She is survived by her daughter, Evangeline LeVeque of Sonnette, Mont.; a sister-in-law, Mabel Dixon of New Castle, Wyo.; nieces and god-daughters, Logan Pluhar of Canyon, Texas; and Helen Mary Bowman of Napa, Calif.; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Pete, a sister, Severa Koski, and five brothers, George, Frank, Watey, Stanley and Walt Pzinski.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, beginning at 1 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Vigil services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, at 7 p.m. at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at 11 a.m., at the St. David's Catholic Church in Broadus with Father Chester Poppa celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot in the Valley View cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Broadus is in charge of arrangements.

Elaine Knudson
POWELL, Wyo.- Elaine Ruth (Borcher) Knudson, 69, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2000. She was born on May 29, 1930, to Theodore Henry and Dorothy (Bales) Borcher in Sydney, Neb. On March 24, 1956, she and Elmer Knudson were married in Poplar, Montana. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Mrs. Knudson was a Registered Nurse and Nursing Home Administrator. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, spending time with "Circle" of Methodist Women and being a "Lucky Thumb!"
She is survived by four children; son, James Knudson of Rawlins, Wyo.; daughters, O're Berry and husband Steve of Arvada, Colo., Molly Knudson of Greeley, Colo. and Amy Downs and husband Michael of Farmington Hills, Mich.; brothers Ralph Borcher and wife Marlene, Merlin Borcher and wife Elaine, and Richard Borcher and wife Verlee, all of Powell; one sister Mildred Emery and husband Bob of Ralston, Wyo.; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Christina, Erik, Caleb, Cassidee and Noah.
Visitation will be held at 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home, and from 6 -8 p.m. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at First United Methodist Church, Powell, Wyo. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at First United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in Crown Hill cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lynn Borcher, Ken Borcher, Gene Borcher, Greg Borcher, Mike Borcher, Boyd Emery and Jim Jarrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Downs and Steve Berry. Should friends desire memorials may be made to the Powell Medical Foundation or First United Methodist Church. Miratsky-Easton Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Janet E. Karch
Janet E. Karch passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital. She had lived for 70 years.
Jan was born in Plattsmouth, Neb., on June 30, 1929, a daughter of William L. Rula M. (Lane) Sluyter. She was raised and educated in Nebraska, later moving to Littleton, Colo., where she met and married Harvey P. Karch. Together with their family they farmed in Iowa before moving to Montana where Harvey began work in the construction industry and Jan cared for their children and home.
Mrs. Karch was a loving mother who found joy in her yard work, the flowers she raised, and any time spent with her grandchildren. She was a member -of the Lockwood Lions Club.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey; three sons, Dennis (Cindy) of Billings, Warren (Kimberly) of Denver, and Harvey (Waverly) of Huntley; four daughters, Diane (George) Werhonig of Edgar, Pam (Dan) Kavanaugh of Billings, Jenise (Tyler) Duff of Westminster, Colo., and Jerri Gibbs of Craig, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald L. Slyter. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, at the West Side Baptist Church. Cremation has taken place. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Sena Auen Flowers
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Sena Auen Flowers, 98, died Sunday, April 2, 2000 at Sheridan Manor.
Interment will be in the Auen family plot at Mott, N.D., at a later date. Champion Funeral Home was in charge.

A. J. Sharp
Andrew Joseph "A.J." Sharp died on Saturday, April 1, 2000 following a car accident.
A.J. was born in Kalispell on April 24, 1987, a son of Gerald and Jacqueline Sharp, Jr. His 12 years of life were spent in Kalispell, Polson and most recently, in Billings where he attended Lockwood Junior High. He was a member of the Royal Rangers and the Chapel of Hope Assembly of Cod Church.
A.J. was an energetic young man who loved being outdoors where he could hunt, fish or shoot his bow with his family. Mom would cheer as A.J. and his dad and brothers played basketball or street hockey for hours. He loved his family and being a big brother to his brothers and baby sister. He had an impact on everyone around him.
You will be missed deeply and will always be cherished in our hearts. Ciksuya canna sna cante mawaste. Lakota, Translation: 'When I think of you, my heart is happy! From your family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Gerald and Jacqueline; two brothers, Jon and Samuel; a baby sister, LaShelle; grandparents, Joseph and Suzanne Garcia, and Jerry and Velva Sharp; three uncles, Terry Sharp, Billy Jack and Joel Garcia; two aunts, Theresa Halsey and Cindy Greenwood; and numerous other great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at the Chapel of Hope, 24 Nightingale Drive. Cremation will follow the services. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Letty Ritland
PLENTYWOOD - Letty Ritland, 89, died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at LaCasa Personal Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Plentywood Lutheran Church with burial in the Plentywood cemetery.

Margaret 'Jean' Clinton
LEWISTOWN - Margaret "Jean" Clinton, 75 of Lewistown, died Sunday, April 2, at her home of cancer. She was born Aug. 11, 1924 on the family ranch near Moore, the daughter of Louis and Anne (Pivniska) Sirucek. She received her education in Moore schools graduating from Moore High School. In 1942, she was united in marriage to Richard Nessan and they raised five children. She owned and managed the Mountain View Motel in Lewistown for several years before retiring. She married Martin J. "Clint" Clinton in 1971 in Lewistown. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Jean was a member of the United Methodist Church and actively supported a number of community activities. She loved to travel and toured many states including three trips to Alaska and several to Canada. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, camping, walking and playing bridge.
She is survived by three daughters: Karen (Bill) Norwood of New Fort Richey, Fla., Barbara (Jerry) Wylie of Neosho, Mo., and Helen (Les) Thom of Laurel, Mont.; two Sons: Rick (Carol) Nessan of Red Lodge, Mont., and Ronnie Nessan of Helena, Mont.; one brother, Robert Sirucek of Kalispell and one sister, Kate Horwath of Cody, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and two sisters, Evelyn Friedenthal and Helen Sirucek preceded her in death.
Memorial services for Margaret "Jean" Clinton will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Cloyd Funeral Home.
Friends may make memorials to the Central Montana Hospice or the United Methodist Church and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.

Edwin Leidholt
MILES CITY - Edwin Leidholt, 73, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Holy Rosary Health Center.
Visitation will begin Thursday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 7, at First Lutheran Church with interment in the family lot of Custer County cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

Doris Harris
MILES CITY - Doris Harris, 89, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Holy Rosary Hospital Extended Care following a long illness.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Stevenson's Funeral Home with interment in the Custer County cemetery.

Walter J. Swan
LEWISTOWN - Walter J. Swan, 83, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, in the Central Montana Medical Center of natural causes.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 7, in Highland cemetery in Havre. Cremation has taken place. Cloyd Funeral Home of Lewistown is in charge.

Bernice J. Cummins
POPLAR - Bernice J. Cummins, 68, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at the Poplar Hospital of cancer.
A vigil service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Assembly of God Church. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Poplar High School gymnasium with interment in the Chelsea cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge.

Helen Kathryn (Kassy) Marshall
MALTA - Helen Kathryn (Kassy) Marshall, 84, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at the Big Sandy Medical Center Long Term Care of natural causes.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Saco with interment in the Malta cemetery. Adams Funeral Home is in charge.

Mary Susan 'Sue' LaMere
COOS BAY, Ore. - Memorial services for Mary Susan "Sue" LaMere, 57, of Coos Bay, formerly of Red Lodge, will be held Friday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Park in Billings, off Fifth St. by Recreation Building.
She was born March 2, 1943, in Denver, to Dr. John and Mary M. (Coppo) Hammerel. She died March 29, 2000, at her home in Coos Bay, Ore.
She was raised and educated in Billings. She lived in Red Lodge for a long period of time. She spent the last 20 years of her life enjoying sobriety, and constantly worked to improve her growing spirituality by helping others. She had many close and dearly loved friends in the Red Lodge area.
She graduated from Montana State University-Billings in 1993 with a degree in communications and a minor in social services. She moved to Coos Bay in 1995. She worked in Coos Bay as director of the South Coast HIV/AIDS Resource Program.
She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing and gardening. She had a voice in working to strengthen her community. Her greatest love was her family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Dean and Brandy Hammerel of Roberts, Mont.; daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie Kay and Richard Kimball of Yreka, Calif., and Mary Jo and Allen Golder of North Bend, Ore.; step-mother, Patricia Hammerel of Billings; brother and spouse, John and Janice Hammerel of Livingston; step-brother and spouse, Gary and Julie of Billings; step-sister and spouse, Diane and David Owen of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandchildren, Michael Paul, Paul Michael, Richard Nathanial, Richard James, Rebekah Ann and Jessie Allen; and niece, Anna Hammerel of Fort Collins, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ayla Dawn Hammerel.
The family suggests memorials to SCHARP, 1620 Thompson road, Coos Bay, OR 97420.
She will be loved and missed by many. Have a Happy Journey, Mom.
