Angelina Bertotti
RED LODGE – Angelina Bertotti, 101, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, in Beartooth Long Term Care Center.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, and Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, both in St. Agnes Catholic Church. Rite of committal will be in Red Lodge cemetery with Olcott Funeral Chapel in charge.

Sue Eastman
LEWISTOWN – Sue Eastman, 81, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at the Central Montana Center.
A vigil service will be held at Creel Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 26. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary cemetery. A “Life Celebration” service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Celebration Community Fellowship Church (formerly Calvary Church). Creel Funeral Home is in charge.

Daniel Ray Fisher
Daniel Ray Fisher was born March 28, 1945, to George and Mary (Ruffatto) Fisher in Sidney, Mont. Dan was raised in the Charlie Creek area.
Dan attended the Armstrong school through the eighth grade and graduated from Sidney Senior High School in 1963 and then attended Eastern Montana College. On Oct. 18, 1965, he was united in marriage to Cherie Hansen.
He started working for Safeway in 1961 and continued in the food service industry his entire career, finally owning his own food brokerage company.
Dan was a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles and St. Patrick’s Co-Cathedral in Billings.
Dan loved cooking and trying different ways to improve recipes. He was a wonderful host to all who came and stayed at his home. His hospitality and meals were well-known throughout his family and friends. He was always jolly and had a joke to tell and was always the first to help anyone in anyway he possibly could.
He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing but mostly his Utah Jazz and the Denver Broncos.
Dan dearly loved his grandchildren and always looked forward to making homemade ice cream on their visits. He loved to tease all the little ones and in return they loved him back. All will remember Dan by his big heart and his big laugh.
Dan died suddenly Monday evening, May 22, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Mont.
Surviving him are: his wife, Cherie Fisher of Laurel; one son, Darin Fisher of Salt Lake City, Utah; one daughter, Lynette Stump and Jason of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren, D.J., Cody, Mitchell, Kyanna and Emily; his mother, Mary Tolksdorf and step-father, Harold of Brockton, Mont.; a brother, Mike Fisher and wife, Marlene of Brockton; a brother, Jerry Fisher and wife, Linda of Billings; sisters-in-law, Doris Lambert of Bainville, Avis Hansen of Sidney; and brother-in-law, Dick Hansen and wife, Diane of Bainville; and sister-in-law, Liana Peters and husband, Jan of Froid; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Fisher and niece, Gina Fisher, mother and father-in-law, Margerie and Axel Hansen, and brothers-in-law, Erling Hansen and Smokey Lambert.
Wake service will be at 7 p.m. today (Thursday) at Fulkerson Chapel, Sidney. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard’s in Charlie Creek. Interment will be at 3 p.m. in the Bainville cemetery.

Melvin and Anna Galland
OUTLOOK – A graveside service will be held for Melvin and Anna Galland on Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at 10 a.m. in Outlook cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Fulkerson Funeral Home is in charge. Anne died March 8, 1992; Melvin died March 29, 2000.

Bob ‘Kamey’ Kamerzel
LAUREL – Bob “Kamey” Kamerzel, 71, of Laurel, Mont., went to be with our Lord early on the morning of May 23, 2000.
Bob was born Nov. 30, 1928, in Laurel, the youngest son of George and Elizabeth Kamerzel. He attended Laurel schools graduating in 1947. Bob excelled in football throughout high school, holding the record for the most PAT’s in a game until the record was broken in 1999. His love for sports took him to many events as he watched his grandchildren and favorite team, the Denver Broncos.
He served in the U. S. Air Force as a heavy equipment operator dozing roads while stationed at Anchorage, Alaska. Using this experience, Bob went on to work 43 years for the railroad, retiring in 1988. His railroad career was highlighted through the time he served on the Wrecker Crew and those special buddies who were part of that crew.
Bob married Peg Stoelting on Oct. 18, 1952. To that union was born four children who feel privileged to call him Dad. Many great times were shared through the years as dad helped his children with various projects and fatherly support.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Kamerzel and sisters, Lillian Hicks and Esther Zieske.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Peg; four children, Bridget (Dave) Gauthier of Park City, Kerry (Daryl) Shay of Havre, Ben (Barbara) Kamerzel of Helena, Kelly (Richard) Warnemunde of Rapid City, S.D., and grandchildren: Brandon, Courtnie and Breann Gauthier, Dara Mengel, Brian Shay, Andrea Marden, Jodi Shay, Kellan, Kendra and Kale Kamerzel, Brady, Eddy Nelson and Brianna Warnemunde and 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Adolph Kamerzel of Park City, and sisters, Bernice Wegner of Laurel, and Clara Glantz of Billings, also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Laurel. Inurnment will be in the Laurel cemetery with military rites. Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel was in charge of cremation and memorial services.
Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Laurel.

Frances ‘Kari’ Kaufman

MALTA – Frances “Kari” Kaufman, 75, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at her home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at the Adams Memorial Chapel with interment in the Malta cemetery.

Virginia Mae Kirkwood
Virginia Mae Kirkwood, 80 of Billings, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2000, following a fall at her home in Aspen Meadows.
The daughter of Ed and Gladys Glauser. Virginia was born Dec. 9, 1919 at Lewistown. She graduated from Fergus County High School in 1938 and from Great Falls Commercial College in 1942. She moved to Billings in 1946. Virginia met John Kirkwood at Thanksgiving time in 1948. They were married in Billings, April 13, 1949. They built their home on the west end of Billings from the ground up. In addition to raising their family, Virginia helped as partner in the family construction business.
Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, second mother, and friend to many. She enjoyed dancing at the Senior Citizen Center, fishing and the out of doors. She was a great listener, conversationalist and list maker. Virginia had a strong Christian faith and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Moose Lodge and OAKS.
Her husband preceded her in death, May 2, 1978.
Survivors include her son and daughter, Allen of Billings and Judy Kirkwood of Seattle, a granddaughter Jessica Kirkwood of Seattle, and two brothers, Harold Glauser of Billings and Edwin Glauser of Eugene, Ore.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26 at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Mortuary with interment in Terrace Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ted E. Rademaker
Ted E. Rademaker, the beloved patriarch of his family, died on Sunday, May 21, 2000, at the Western Manor Health Care Center, just three days prior to his 96th birthday.
He was born on May 24, 1904, in Billings to F.X.N. and Anna Ronan Rademaker. Ted graduated in 1922 from Billings Senior High. In 1924, he married the love of his life, Esther Fern Warner in Columbus, Mont.
Ted was the best leather findings salesman in the Rocky Mountain states for 63 years, starting with the Montana Leather Co. in 1924, and with Dunn Shoe & Leather Co. of Denver from 1932 to 1987. He reluctantly retired at age 83. He lived most of his life in Billings, except for the years 1932 to 1946, when the family lived in Casper, Wyo.
He made many friends during his lifetime, was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed playing golf with his sons and grandsons. He is survived by two sons, W. Ted Rademaker and his wife, Nancy of San Francisco, Tom and his wife, Joyce of Billings, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years; a brother, Frank; and two sisters, Dorothy and Sister Mary Edith (Anna Marie).
He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the caring staff at Western Manor. To honor Ted’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be in Mountview cemetery.

Milton B. Rogers
Graveside services will be held for Milton B. Rogers, who died Jan. 23, 2000, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, at Mountain View cemetery.
Please join family and friends at the Moose Lodge, 218 So. Main St., Livingston, Mont., for lunch following the service. For information call (406) 222-6568 or (406) 222-2609.

Betty Taylor
BUTTE – Betty Taylor passed away Sunday, May 21 of natural causes.
Betty was born in Billings Mont., On Feb, 11, 1935M to Jacob and Annie (Iszler) Bittner.
She married William Emory Taylor in Billings June 8, 1951, and they relocated to Butte in 1952 where they raised their family.
Betty enjoyed gardening, raising Angus cattle, and the many years she devoted to becoming a master at ceramic arts; however her passion was bowling. She was an avid league bowler and cherished the lime she spent bowling with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1994 and brothers, Jack Bittner and Jimmy Burkhardt
Survivors include her sisters and brothers-in-law, Loraine and Ron Lund, Jeannie and Stan Krohmer, and brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Lori Burkhardt.
Betty is also survived by her children, Billie Ann Taylor, Vickie Stacy, Les and Barbara Taylor, Bob and Carrie Taylor, Bruce Taylor, 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes Betty’s remains have been cremated in Butte and no services are planned.
The family asks that memorials be sent to the Betty Taylor Memorial YABA Scholarship Fund, c/c 4111 Western Blvd., or a charity of the donor’s choice.

James Vollmer
GREELEY, Colo. – James Vollmer, 56, formerly of Jordan, died on Saturday, May 20, 2000, as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan.

John Wessel
BELFRY – John Wessel, 86, of Belfry, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, in his home.
Born on Jan. 29, 1914, in Madrid, N.M., he was a son of Leo and Margaret Wessel. He was raised and educated in Red Lodge and was married to Minnie Kuhn on Jan. 9, 1940, in Cody, Wyoming. They have resided in Belfry since 1948.
Mr. Wessel was employed by Amoco Oil Co. for 27 years before retiring. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish of Bridger, the Belfry Senior Citizens, and had formerly served on the Belfry Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ellinor Wessel, Margaret Zanon, Ruth Gary and Bernice Reichert.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Wessel of Belfry; one daughter, Ruth (Derrek) Flick of Seattle; three grandchildren, Kevin (Brenda) Flick, and Renee and Denise Flick, all of Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 26, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bridger. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, in the church. Rite of committal will be in the Belfry cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Belfry Senior Citizen’s Center.
Memorials may be sent to Beartooth Hospice, Box 590, Red Lodge, MT 59068. Olcott Funeral Chapel of Red Lodge is in charge of arrangements.

William Jay Banks Asay
FRANNIE, Wyo. – William Jay Banks Asay, 72, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at West Park Long Term Care Center in Cody, Wyo.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell on Wednesday, May 24. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. in the Cowley L.D.S. Chapel, Cowley, Wyo., on Thursday, May 25. Interment will be in the Deaver-Frannie cemetery, Deaver, Wyo.

Margaruite Baker
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Margaruite Baker, 87, formerly of Miles City, died on Nov. 28, 1999, in San Luis Obispo.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Knowlton cemetery in Knowlton, with Eastern Star graveside rites. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge.

Bernice L. Carlberg
MALTA – Bernice L. Carlberg, 77, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26, at the Adams Memorial Chapel with interment in the Malta cemetery. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge.

Peter M. Cartwright
TEMPE, Ariz. – Peter M. Cartwright, 26, formerly of Birney, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Maricopa County Hospital in Tempe from complications received from burns.
Pete was born Aug. 29, 1973, in Lander, Wyo., the son of Owen and Diana Vogt Cartwright. He came to Birney with his family at an early age where be spent his youth and attended elementary school. He attended Colstrip High School and graduated in 1991.
Pete enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1993 serving until 1995. Upon his discharge, Pete moved to Tempe where he worked as a warehouseman and tile installer. Pete enjoyed camping and fishing.
Pete is survived by his parents, Owen and Diana Cartwright of Birney; one sister, Raina Cartwright of Billings; paternal grandmother, Doris Cartwright of Chandler, Ariz.; maternal grandmother, Rachel (Martin) Skiles of Roundup; maternal grandfather, Harold (Dixie) Vogt of Redding, Calif.; and one uncle, John Schiffer of Tempe, Ariz.
Graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Birney cemetery. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is assisting the family with the arrangements.
