SPOKANE, Wash. – Jean J. Conway, 75, formerly of Miles City, Mont., died at her daughter Georgia’s home on March 13, 2000.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 26, at the Calvary cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge.

Lois Eleanor Emmett
DEAVER, Wyo. – Lois Eleanor Emmett, 78, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at her home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in the Southern Baptist Church in Lovell. Interment will be in the Lovell cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge.

Daniel R. Fisher
LAUREL – Daniel R. Fisher, 55, formerly of Sidney, died on Monday, May 22, 2000, at the St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
Wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at the Fulkerson Memorial Chapel, Sidney. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Charlie Creek Community. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at the Bainville cemetery, Bainville, Mont.

Charles R. Hendryx
Charles R. Hendryx, age 70, of Billings, died at Deaconess Medical Center Sunday, May 21, 2000.
He was born June 25, 1929, in Casper, Wyo., the son of Alma Marie (Clark) and Robert Carleton Hendryx.
Charles was a member of the Billings Elk Lodge No. 394, American Legion No. 4, Moose Lodge No. 558, O.A.K.S Dance club, and the Roaring Twenties Klaxon. Charles’s first love was horses, he enjoyed tending to his horses; his second love was his 1960 Cadillac. Numerous friends and family alike will miss Charles
Charles married Margaret A. Chipps on May 25, 1967, in Casper, Wyo.
Charles is survived by his wife, Margaret A. Hendryx of 33 years; sons, Charles L. Hendryx, Ronald R. Hendryx, David A, Hendryx; daughters, Jody Graham, Alma Marie Gehrett, Brenda Regan; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including Tasha Graham, Maddy Kitchin, Sally Gilmore, Tammy Hendryx, Erik, Natalie, and Timmy Chipps; sisters, Rosella Solberg and Viola Proctor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Geraldine Volk.
Visitation will start Tuesday. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Smith’s West Chapel, 304 34th St. West, with Elder Don L. Gilmore Jr., of Abundant Life Temple of Billings the officiating pastor. Cremation will follow the service.
Memorials may be made to Billings Elks Lodge Memorial Fund P.O. Box 20302, Billings, MT 59104 or charity of choice.

Stanley Norman ‘Norm’ Kalloch
SHEPHERD – Stanley Norman “Norm”Kalloch, 60, formerly of Colstrip, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Colstrip. Interment will follow at a later date. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth is in charge.

Bob “Kamey” Kamerzel
LAUREL – Bob “Kamey” Kamerzel, 71, of Laurel, Mont., went to be with our Lord early on the morning of May 23, 2000.
Bob was born Nov. 30, 1928, in Laurel, the youngest son of George and Elizabeth Kamerzel. He attended Laurel schools graduating in 1947. Bob excelled in football throughout high school, holding the record for the most PAT’s in a game until the record was broken in 1999. His love for sports took him to many events as he watched his grandchildren and favorite team, the Denver Broncos.
He served in the U. S. Air Force as a heavy equipment operator dozing roads while stationed at Anchorage, Alaska. Using this experience, Bob went on to work 43 years for the railroad, retiring in 1988. His railroad career was highlighted through the time he served on the Wrecker Crew and those special buddies who were part of that crew.
Bob married Peg Stoelting on Oct. 18, 1952. To that union was born four children who feel privileged to call him Dad. Many great times were shared through the years as dad helped his children with various projects and fatherly support.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Kamerzel and sisters, Lillian Hicks and Esther Zieske.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Peg; four children, Bridget (Dave) Gauthier of Park City, Kerry (Daryl) Shay of Havre, Ben (Barbara) Kamerzel of Helena, Kelly (Richard) Wamemunde of Rapid City, S.D., and grandchildren: Brandon, Courtnie and Breann Gauthier, Dara Mengel, Brian Shay, Andrea Marden, Jodi Shay, Kellan, Kendra and Kale Kamerzel, Brady, Eddy Nelson and Brianna Wamemunde and 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Adolph Kamerzel of Park City, and sisters, Bernice Wegner of Laurel, and Clara Glantz of Billings, also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Laurel. Inurnment will be in the Laurel cemetery with military rites. Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel was in charge of cremation and memorial services.
Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Laurel.

Virginia Mae Kirkwood
Virginia Mae Kirkwood, 80 of Billings, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2000, following a fall at her home in Aspen Meadows.
The daughter of Ed and Gladys Glauser. Virginia was born Dec. 9, 1919 at Lewistown. She graduated from Fergus County High School in 1938 and from Great Falls Commercial College in 1942. She moved to Billings in 1946. Virginia met John Kirkwood at Thanksgiving time in 1948. They were married in Billings, April 13, 1949. They built their home on the west end of Billings from the ground up. In addition to raising their family, Virginia helped as partner in the family construction business.
Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, second mother, and friend to many. She enjoyed dancing at the Senior Citizen Center, fishing and the out of doors. She was a great listener, conversationalist and list maker. Virginia had a strong Christian faith and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Moose Lodge and OAKS.
Her husband preceded her in death, May 2, 1978.
Survivors include her son and daughter, Allen of Billings and Judy Kirkwood of Seattle, a granddaughter Jessica Kirkwood of Seattle, and two brothers, Harold Glauser of Billings and Edwin Glauser of Eugene, Ore.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26 at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Mortuary with interment in Terrace Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Levi Norman Myers Jr.
THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. – Levi Norman Myers Jr., 80, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at Canyon Hills Manor of complications from a stroke.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 12 p.m. until 12:45 p.m., at Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home, Powell, Wyo. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Crown Hill cemetery, Powell.

Bernard ‘Ben’ Ophus
HINSDALE – Bernard “Ben” Ophus, 78, died on Monday, May 22, 2000, on his farm in Hinsdale of natural causes.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 26, in the Hinsdale Legion Hall. Interment will be in the Hillview cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge.

Virginia A. Prestrud
Virginia A. Prestrud, 82 of Billings, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, May 23, 2000, at Deaconess Medical Center. She was born in Denver, Colo., on May 13, 1918, the daughter of Orie and Olga Honeyman.
Virginia was raised and educated in Denver and graduated from Manuel High School in 1935. Following graduation, she attended business college for two years before going to work for Mountain Bell as a long distance telephone operator. She later worked for the Presbyterian Hospital in Denver.
On Dec. 12, 1942, she married Paul Prestrud in Cleveland, Ohio. They moved to Billings in June of 1949. While the kids were growing up, Virginia was always active in supporting their interests as a scout leader in both boys and girls clubs. She served on the Girl Scout Board in 1960 was a member of P.E.O. and O.E.S. Virginia enjoyed knitting, ceramics, and traveling with her husband, Paul.
Survivors include her husband, Paul of Billings; her daughter Judy Coddington and her husband, William of Medford, Ore.; her sons, Jay Prestrud and his wife, Barbara and John Prestrud and his wife, Peggy of Billings; her sister, Jacqueline Rogers of Denver; and three grandchildren, Kori Dabney (Trevin) and Kati Prestrud of Mountainview, Calif., and Lindsey Prestrud of Portland, Ore.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, at Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist. Private interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation, 1643 Lewis Ave., Billings, MT 59102.

Maxine A. Shell
BUFFALO, Wyo. – Maxine A. Shell, 71, died on Saturday, May 2, 2000, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, at Kane Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date in the Willow Grove cemetery, Buffalo.

Anthony ‘Tony’A. Mang
ROUNDUP – Anthony A. Mang died Saturday, May 20, 2000, while fishing at Soda Creek.
Tony was born in Snowqualmie, Wash., on May 25, 1935, to F. A. “Tony” and Goldie Mang. He was their only child. He attended school in Roundup and graduated from Roundup High School. He married Jane Eliasson in 1964 and worked on the Eliasson ranch until it was sold in 1979. He then worked for Colt construction in California and Washington until he retired in 1997. He was an avid fisherman and died doing what he enjoyed most.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; his sons, Mike (Kippi) Mang, Dale (Beth) Mang; his daughter, Brenda (Don) Widdicombe; and his mother, Goldie Mang. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Darren and Devann Mang, Jonathan and Andrew Mang and Trevor, Jace and Heather Widdicombe. He also leaves his friend and fishing buddy, Bob Skagen. He was preceded in death by his father, Tony.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Roundup at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, at Wier’s Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity or organization of one’s choice. Wier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Billy Carl Phillips
Billy Carl Phillips, 68, of Billings, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at Billings Deaconess Medical Center.
Graveside service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, in the Veterans Section of Mountview cemetery. Smith’s Downtown Chapel is in charge.

Charles ‘Charlie’ Edgar Hegg
MILES CITY – Charles “Charlie” Edgar Hegg, 68, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at the St. Vincent Medical Center in Billings.
Visitation will be held Tuesday in the chapel in Miles City. Prayer services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the Cohagen Hall. Private family interment will be held at the Cohagen cemetery.
